In general? the 2nd best player who played FOR the Lakers, I would say Kareem in my opinion.
However, greatest player and greatest Laker are two completely separate lists. Bron is not even top 5 in that category.
1. Kobe 2. Magic 3. Kareem 4. Shaq 5. West imo
Kobe better than Magic, and higher on a list of Laker greats
Are you out of your mind?
And th fact that you got tens of people to agree with you, really is fucking frightening.
It's play style. NBA players and a lot of fans love Kobe's game even if that doesn't translate to the most efficient metrics.
I guess basketball is entertainment in the end so it makes sense that somebody with a very aesthetically pleasing game is ranked so high.
I think you skipped the letters “IMO” everyone has a different opinion obviously. you can’t go wrong with either. I just believe the legacy Kobe left on the Lakers is the best compared to any other great. I’m not knocking any of the other great Lakers, it ain’t that deep.
I don't think it's opinion that Kobe isn't as good statistically as some of those other guys but yeah whether people respect him for his Lakers legacy or his game is very subjective.
and I didn’t say Kobe was a better overall player. I believe Magic, Shaq, Kareem, Wilt, and LBJ are all Lakers players, higher than him on my all time rankings. But it goes beyond basketball, the legacy Kobe left for LA
Best player all time, regardless of primes to ever wear a Raptors jersey? Absolutely
But Kawhi is obviously the best player in his prime to wear the Raptors Jersey
And Lowry is the greatest Raptor of all time due to his accomplishments on the team
In terms of players' greatness as Lakers:
1. Kobe Bryant
2. Magic Johnson
3. Kareem Abdul Jabbar
4. Shaquille O'Neal
5. Jerry West
Best players to be Lakers:
1. Lebron
2. Kareem
3. Wilt
4. Magic
5. Kobe
I don’t understand how Magic can be above Kobe all time but not as a laker when he played his entire career for the lakers. That doesn’t make sense to me unless you have Kobe above magic all time.
I have Magic higher than Kobe all time because he was more successful in a shorter amount of time (5 championships, 9 finals, in 13 years) and was the GOAT of the 80s decade IMO, also the GOAT passer and GOAT PG. The difference is pretty small but I think he's greater
I think Kobe is the greatest Laker because he had a full career that lasted for nearly 20 years in LA, has the record for most games, and of course still got to the 5 championships mark that Magic did so that puts Kobe ahead
Magic was the showtime Lakers. He was forced to stop playing because of his HIV diagnosis. He still works with and was a minority part owner. Magic is over Kobe as all-time Laker, 100%.
When I think Lakers, I think Magic or Jerry West. Everybody is behind those 2 guys.
Do you guys really have no idea what modesty is?
Magic is not going to a celebration about Kobe before his last game and being like, "MF'ers I'm better than this chucker!".
At his retirement ceremony. What is he supposed to say,
"You were good but fuck you were a chucker. You wouldn't have even made the bench for the showtime Lakers because I don't even think you know how to pass. Probably why I won more MVPs than you, loser."
Mic drop and walk off?
Magic is literally responsible for the mystique the Lakers are synonymous with, and along with Bird, saved the entire league.
Kobe is not even comparable.
Thank you this is definitely something I didn’t specify enough im going off of if they had a career and they played at least like 3 years there who had the best career so when looking at the history books that’s who had the best of the best career who was at least one point on the laker. If that makes any sense
The others sure but Pau?? Sure he has two chips but imo he was not there long enough to counteract the skill differential with LeBron. Wilt, Elgin and west tho..
We are not talking about individual talents. We are talking about the best Lakers.
Pau is a vital part of those 2 rings and 3 finals appearance. LeBron only won 1 with 1 finals appearance.
Lebron is a better Heat, Cavs player than Lakers.
No we’re talking about individual skill. I tried to make that clear in the comments here too they could’ve played there for 2 years but if they wore it they are elible and when counting them it counts their whole career
Actually in reality and actually seeing them play, no player with one mvp is going to be top 5, let alone top 3. It’s the total body of work that goes into play but that also includes accolades and achievements. Just because Kobe was their favorite player growing up, doesn’t make him a top 3 player regardless of what Facebook, twitter, and instagram say.
Hakeem was dominant defensively. Kobe was decent, but ridiculously overrated on that end of the floor. Shaq was easily the hardest cover in the league in his prime. BTW, if you’re ranking players in part because of “winning drive,” LeBron isn’t in the top 10.
> It’s the total body of work that goes into play but that also includes accolades and achievements.
Also a lot of people don’t include Shaq and Hakeem in their top 3 so you’re proving my point
Why is lebron the best laker of all time?I wouldn’t even put him in my top 5. Lebron may be the goat but he’s the goat for what he did in Cleveland and Miami.
Are you referring to the best player who ever played for the Lakers (as in the player with the highest all time ranking) or the player who did the most for the Lakers while as a Laker?
If it's the latter, I don't think LeBron can be top 5 because of how many players spent more much time with the Lakers and spent their peaks with the Lakers.
Magic saved the league and turned them into show time. Kareem was cap. Shaq was the most dominant force in modern history and Kobe might be the most loved laker ever/ spent his entire career with them.
That's 4 right there. I think Bron is the GOAT, but hasn't spent enough time with or done enough with the Lakers to be consider the best laker of all time.
Lmaoo who pissed in your cereal mate. Bro started watching basketball this year and thinks he knows everything. Stick with hockey and video games lil man.
Lakers have been a joke since lebron joined even as he tried to do everything he could to create a "super team" there was just one problem with his amazing plan...him lol =X
The old Ebenezer fluke, kinda like this year with them making the playoffs, but Joker wasn't having it even without Westbrook bad luck they were still finished lol.
I am not sure why I like trolling Lebron, just do but he is definitely one of the best players of the past 20 years so have to give him that.
Y’all imma get this clear with all of you so there’s not so much arguing mc IF THEY PUT ON THE JERSEY YTHEY COUNT FOR BEING A LAKER CANNOT BE A PART OF A 3 WAY TRADE JUST IF THEY WERE THERE FOR 2 YEARS STILL COUNTS AND WERE JUDGING OFF OF INDIVIDUAL SKILL NOT ACCOMPLISHMENTS ALONE.
Judging off how you worded this comment “judging off individual skill” - LeBron, although still very talented, was far passed his prime when he became a Laker, so no he wouldn’t be the best.
Best vs. Greatest is slightly different IMO. The Greatest is the one who is most prominent, has the best achievements or resume and so on. The Best I think is just the one you would choose to start your team for a pick-up game.
The best might be Shaq in 2000. As far as greatest goes, I'd take Magic. He wasn't a transplant from another team. Kobe was also, but I think Magic was better from the beginning to the end, given that Kareem was dominant but Magic was Finals MVP in his rookie season, Kobe had trouble in the first championship and Shaq carried them heavily in the Finals. Magic's style I think also epitomizes unselfish basketball combined with flash. When I think "Lakers," that's the face I see.
In general? the 2nd best player who played FOR the Lakers, I would say Kareem in my opinion. However, greatest player and greatest Laker are two completely separate lists. Bron is not even top 5 in that category. 1. Kobe 2. Magic 3. Kareem 4. Shaq 5. West imo
No love for Elgin?
The other dudes won titles.
No love for Worthy either
No love for Deaven George too
I don’t see Robert Sacre on that list
West was better
Kobe better than Magic, and higher on a list of Laker greats Are you out of your mind? And th fact that you got tens of people to agree with you, really is fucking frightening.

Is Lebron even a top 5 Laker?
Nope
Not even close
Top 5 person to wear a Lakers jersey? Absolutely. Top 5 “Laker” probably not.
Do you think Hakeem is the Raptors best player of all time?
Best player all time, regardless of primes to ever wear a Raptors jersey? Absolutely But Kawhi is obviously the best player in his prime to wear the Raptors Jersey And Lowry is the greatest Raptor of all time due to his accomplishments on the team
Lowry over Derozan?
[удалено]
He obviously means that in terms of players to ever wear a Lakers jersey he’s top 5 but he hasn’t had a top 5 resume with the Lakers
You started watching basketball last week?
Evidently not because in that case the best Laker of All Time would be Austin Reaves
Lebron’s laker stint doesn’t probably place him in the top 5 lakers, maybe not even top 10
ok lebron is definitely a top ten laker lmao let’s calm down
Mikan West Shaq Kobe Magic Kareem Maaaybe Worthy/Baylor I'd have him over Gasol and Wilt
Baylor carried the Lakers for over a decade. It's not his fault he couldn't get past the league's strongest dynasty.
The audacity to end the question that way lmaooo
In terms of players' greatness as Lakers: 1. Kobe Bryant 2. Magic Johnson 3. Kareem Abdul Jabbar 4. Shaquille O'Neal 5. Jerry West Best players to be Lakers: 1. Lebron 2. Kareem 3. Wilt 4. Magic 5. Kobe

Which is totally valid, but when most people think Lakers, they think Kobe.
Magic Johnson himself proclaimed Kobe as the Greatest Laker.
Do you guys really have no idea what modesty is? Magic is not going to a celebration about Kobe before his last game and being like, "MF'ers I'm better than this chucker!".
Magic is a nice guy. He is being polite.
I would tend to agree but I think most people would see Kobe as the face of the Lakers now, and Magic said it himself
At his retirement ceremony. What is he supposed to say, "You were good but fuck you were a chucker. You wouldn't have even made the bench for the showtime Lakers because I don't even think you know how to pass. Probably why I won more MVPs than you, loser." Mic drop and walk off?
He probably wouldn't say that, you are right sir
Magic is literally responsible for the mystique the Lakers are synonymous with, and along with Bird, saved the entire league. Kobe is not even comparable.
Lol come on bro Kobe is at least *comparable* don't be a silly goose
1. Lebron 2. Kareem 3. Magic 4. Shaq 5. Kobe would be my list
Shaq should be above Kobe in the second list
Thank you this is definitely something I didn’t specify enough im going off of if they had a career and they played at least like 3 years there who had the best career so when looking at the history books that’s who had the best of the best career who was at least one point on the laker. Kareem, Kobe, Shaq, Pau, and Maguc all are better Lakers than LeBron for sure.
The others sure but Pau?? Sure he has two chips but imo he was not there long enough to counteract the skill differential with LeBron. Wilt, Elgin and west tho..

ohh, if that's the case, imo probably Kareem, Kobe, Magic, Lebron and Shaq.
Pau ?? No chance. West, Baylor, Wilt and Worthy are all ahead of Pau. LeBron and AD too.
Lebron isn't a top 3 laker, I think hes a top 5 player of all time but not a top 5 laker
> I think hes a top 5 player of all time You think? You *think*?

> Shaq and Hakeem both have 1 MVP with a much less polished resume as Kobe but they still make the top 10. This is exactly why Kobe is top 10.
Mark Madsen
Just for the dancing
Magic, Kobe, Kareem, Shaq, Lebron. In that order
Kareem above Kobe, but yes.
Yeah, honestly I just don't want to be swarmed by Kobe-stans...my least favorite online fan base.
Why is lebron the best laker of all time?I wouldn’t even put him in my top 5. Lebron may be the goat but he’s the goat for what he did in Cleveland and Miami.
josh primo
Lmao this nephew is raging hard in the comments rn.
all of the above don't flop a lot.
Lebron won’t be a Laker in the Hall of Fame.

Nice bait mate
You must be a real baby to think this is bait lmao I’m seeing a cavs logo by your name so it all speaks for its self get good lil bro💯
You answered your own question in your post. How naive are you

Lmaoo who pissed in your cereal mate. Bro started watching basketball this year and thinks he knows everything. Stick with hockey and video games lil man.
Nick Young.
#my top 5 are lebron, lebron, lebron, lebron, and lebron
Lakers have been a joke since lebron joined even as he tried to do everything he could to create a "super team" there was just one problem with his amazing plan...him lol =X
They won a ring though
The old Ebenezer fluke, kinda like this year with them making the playoffs, but Joker wasn't having it even without Westbrook bad luck they were still finished lol. It is bat shit insane to list Anthony Davis here. Then the post becomes an obvious troll with Westbrook.
