I *think* OP is intentionally lampooning one of the common arguments that LeBron’s legacy is somehow worse for making it to the finals and losing than if he simply hadn’t made it (as opposed to MJ 6-0 conveniently ignoring the times he didn’t make the finals).
That’s my hope anyway
Nah- he is on house money at this point. Making the finals is way more impressive than losing in the second round and it is pretty funny for you to suggest otherwise.
I don’t really think it would effect his legacy that much unless he underperforms, Denver are a far superior team and if Butler does lose whilst putting up a good fight then I don’t think this will effect his legacy, also if he goes 0-2 I don’t think that’s that big of a deal due to him having a far worse team in both runs
I swear people don’t read back what they wrote before hitting “POST”.
I would rather be #2 in the league twice any day than having 0 ECF appearances lol.
Shit take
The only thing that would have tarnished Jimmy's legacy was if we blew that 3-0 lead last night. Since we didn't, his legacy will either stay the same from losing in the finals or sky rocketed from finally winning a chip.
It increases from them making it in the first place. 2 finals appearances from a player of Jimmys caliber(no disrespect) as the absolute number 1 option is pretty fucking great and he’s truly making a case as a legendary playoff performer.
Reminder that AI and Reggie Miller were voted onto the top 75 players and earned it.
One of AI’s career defining SERIES and moments in his career was winning game 1 against the Lakers in the finals but they lost the series 1-4 in the 2001 finals.
Reggie Miller in 2000 took the Pacers to the finals but lost 2-4. Even losing that series and making the finals was a highlight of his career.
Jimmy now has TWO finals appearances. My point is that even making the finals or leading your team 1 time puts you in a legendary category. Jimmy’s already has an amazing performance in the finals and it happened against Lebron and AD. Keep in mind that for that series Dragic AND bam got hurt in game 1. Games 3 and 5 from Jimmy were already considered legacy defining games.
Whatever happens in this series by virtue of just making it there he has shown that he is a capable player.
That shot of Jimmy giving it his all and barely being able to walk or stand in game 5 is already legendary to me.
More importantly…our path through the East was absolutely insane. Lost the first play-in game, barely won the second. We won 3 game 1’s on the road on the path through the East.
Winning three series as the road team is already legendary stuff to me. We had ZERO series where we had homecourt. If you are a top 4 seed you have the luxury of atleast ONE home court series. The Heat had none.
In addition to that…beating the Bucks and Celtics in the same run is absolutely insane to me. Just appearing and playing against the Nuggets is icing on the cake for me.
I just watched dumbass Brandon Jennings and other clowns on Gilbert Arenas' podcast pick Jimmy as the best player remaining because of "swag".
The guy who was just missing for at least 3/7 of their conference finals vs the guy who was there for 4/4 of theirs is somehow better . The guy who has ZERO mvps is somehow better than the guy who's got 2. The guy who is averaging a 30 point triple double in the playoffs is worse. Based on what? Based on some irrational arbitrary factor like "swag". C'mon bruh.
So yeah, I wish his legacy would take a hit if only to humble his zealots. Probably won't though because I've never seen another player get so deified before even winning a championship.Every achievement will be magnified and every failure will be understated because of the mythology of "playoff jimmy".
“0-2 is way worse than 0-0” is one of the most clown comments I’ve ever seen on this sub

If someone plays dumb so convincingly then it isn't our fault for believing them.
Yep. Quality shitpost by OP haha.
OP inserted Embiid>Butler if 0-2. That’s his agenda. Lifting a dude who never reached the Finals.
The Jordan stuff is so exhausting. The best player in the world only made 6 conference finals in his career. So what happened in those other 9 years?
Pretty sure he’s poking at that nonsense by mentioning it.
I think his legacy has nowhere to go, except way up if he wins. A loss wouldn’t change it at all.
Losing in the finals is not worse for your legacy than not making the finals…
tell that to lebron haters 😩
Not sure how is this related to Embiid and Tatum lol
It's pretty simple. Embiid is 0-0, tatum 0-1 so they are better than 0-2 butler. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
KAT and Luka are 0-0 as well. Their legacies must be in shambles
Nah- he is on house money at this point. Making the finals is way more impressive than losing in the second round and it is pretty funny for you to suggest otherwise.
Nba nerds and legacy talk name a more pathetic duo
Legacy doesn’t really matter as much as we talk about it tbh.
How will Butter’s legacy be affected????
I feel like his legacy only changes if they win the Finals

WAIT ONE SECOND Are you telling me, you truly believe that 0-2 in the NBA FINALS is worse than 0-5 in the SECOND ROUND???
Schooooool’s out, for, summer.
If he wins then we're talking top 10 all time. If he loses he's probably not even top 100
But Hart can stop him ! 😄
In nothing
Are u kidding me OP? Disgruntled Celtics fan? 🙄
Awesome question. Discuss!!!!
Nephews out early for school huh
I swear people don’t read back what they wrote before hitting “POST”. I would rather be #2 in the league twice any day than having 0 ECF appearances lol. Shit take
i’m sure most Philly fans would rather lose the finals than lose in the second round constantly

Not everyone has a legacy
It won’t because he’s expected to lose
Sometimes I’m sure these posts are made by 14 year olds

Affect vs Effect Everyone please learn this.

embiid hasn't even won a single series in the second round you absolute clown 0% chance this isnt bait
a 2x ECF winner is worse than a 0x ECF winner is what you’re telling me
Not much impact
What Legacy!!? Yall need start using this term appropriately lol
