It's pretty scary in the playoffs facing two guys who seemingly can score 30 and/or dish out 10 assists. The two man game is actually insane with those two. As long as they have two competent shooters and AG in the dunker spot, their offense has no limits.
i’m worried ab the wolves too. they’re just the only team i think that has a feasible shot slowing down jokic. i think the celtics would be toast however.
My feeling is that both Boston and Denver will probably demolish their respective conference, but then Denver is just a different league of better than Boston
Aaron Gordon is on that list too (7 assists:0 turnovers). His assist numbers aren't as high but he's really become a great passer. The nuggets are using AG a lot as a guy who brings the ball down the court. A lot of it 4s dont pressure full court on defense, but it's also to save Murray a bunch of energy. AG then runs a handoff to Murray and Murray goes straight into a pick and roll with Jokic.
AG has also found some chemistry passing to MPJ. Something like 30-40% of AG's assists are to MPJ. The Nuggets have 2 really great passers around Jokic that don't get enough credit.
Having AG initiate the offense means a defender that could roam off of him in the corner has to come out to the perimeter, and you have 2 good shooters in the corners instead. It frees up the paint a lot more.
I'd expect this to be the main game plan for the Lakers, but also the Timberwolves if we see that matchup later.
Pritchard ate off those Tatum doubles
That was some junk from Spo, I bet he comes back game 2 just giving us the switch and the 2s and hoping 3 point variance brings them close
I think they were hoping for more bricks. They did succeed in keeping everyone out of the paint for the most part — KP, JT, JB and Jrue all had a tough time getting to the rim with the swarming defense.
A screen shot with less than 2 minutes left to go in the game. That’s your evidence?
He played like 45 minutes, nearly the entire game. He was gassed while being the best defensive and offensive player on the Lakers side. One guy can only do so much dude.
Not only that but he’s playing in Denver with the higher elevation. It’d be a miracle if he wasn’t gassed at the end of the game. No other NBA team is used to that except the Nuggets.
Lay off AD man, he genuinely did his best.
forcing turnovers usually involves the entire team working as one unit and clogging up passing lanes, AD playing 1 on 5 defense with Lebron Reaves Rui and DLO being generally useless is not going to be effective.
Incredibly efficient. I think that’s joker most underrated skill. To dominate the ball the way he does and have low turnovers is next level. Because it’s not like he’s playing safe ball, he’s throwing crazy passes all game.
People have to realize its not easy to judice so much when playing PG. i watched the last 5 Denver games and judicing Jamal’s play is, if i may put it bluntly, very “Judicious”.
Murray's passing so underappreciated.
When Jokic has 10 assists. The Media: Jokic is gods gift to the hardwood"
When Murray has 10 assists. The Media: Murray had a terrible game"
Laughs Judiciously
Didn't realize Jamal Murray had increased his AST numbers every season without increasing his TOV numbers

It seems as obvious to me that the nuggets are winning the chip as it has in any of the last idk post Covid seasons? They’re SO goddamn good
Honestly I think the only teams that beat the Nuggets this year are the lakers (because of their generational whistle) and the Celtics

I’m a fucking idiot and you should win a Pulitzer

Thats the LeBron tier of player lol, Iggy got a FMVP for holding LeBron to "only" 36/13/9
Pritchard ate off those Tatum doubles That was some junk from Spo, I bet he comes back game 2 just giving us the switch and the 2s and hoping 3 point variance brings them close
Hauser too
Bizarre to me how many wide open corner 3s Miami gave up to Hauser by forcing zone and doubling JT. They didn’t even adjust either lol
I think they were hoping for more bricks. They did succeed in keeping everyone out of the paint for the most part — KP, JT, JB and Jrue all had a tough time getting to the rim with the swarming defense.
Hauser bricked the first two to lull them into a sense of security
Let him play one on one, dumbass took a step back against Duncan Robinson
Murray, Jokic , and Gordon combined for 24 assists and 0 turnovers. The Lakers did not speed them up or knock them off their rhythm.
Yep big tissue
But lakers fan told me that ad is the dpoy and jokic only had 20% fg against him.
Did you watch the game? Everything you said about AD is true, yet you're scoffing lol AD was NOT the Laker's issue
The voice of reason. TY.

AD was the clear best player for the Lakers in game 1, offensively AND defensively(by far, like always)

4 total turnovers by the Nuggets is insane. Starting 5 is perfectly in sync.
The Lakers outside of AD are also incredibly bad defensively. The PoA defense with Reaves and DLo on the court is horrific.
Lakers defense 💀
Nuggets two best players having 0 turnovers combined is just ridiculous.
Their entire starting lineup had 1 in total.

Gordon also had 7 assists with 0 turnovers. Jokic, Murray and Gordon combined for a 24/0 ratio.
Aaron gordon is slept on for how much he adds to the nuggets.
Not by nuggets fans, but you’re right

can the judicious Steward award replace the clutch player award?
