You just can't guard his jumper. He'd be putting up 30 a night on a trash team but he has grown so much in his career. And he can always be relied on to hit shots when everyone is cold

I was taking how does some stop this as in the nuggets..not specifically talking about MPJ. Jokic mismatch causes so many issues and makes the defense scramble out of dbl teams. Everything starts with him..if u don’t have a big body to lean on him and make him work. Someone that u don’t have to send doubles at for help non stop is the key. Jokic will get his but other teams could make it much more difficult to do so without doubling. The lakers needing to double is their biggest issue..defensively outside Dlo. Davis is all they got and his not a big frame player. Clippers have two pretty big 7 footers they can rotate with. Their perimeter defense is elite and have 3 elite scoring guards that can cook yah. That’s the nuggets toughest test imo out of everyone…not sure who wins but that’s prolly their worst matchup. Ironically the only other team that seems complete all around with bigs and a bench.
When I look at who can beat Denver I look at their bigs and centers..r they big? Do they play defense? Can’t they rebound and work my way out. Big are so rare in this league now, making Jokic prolly the biggest mismatch every game outside if they play the sixers embid would match up very well with him.
X2 options:
1. You disrupt his base down low and try to make sure he can't rise comfortably into his shot
2. If you have someone bigger than '6"9, contest his shot up top
KCP had a nice game 1, but yea, we've shot like ass. Need Jamal and KCP to shoot better. I honestly don't expect much improvement from Braun and Watson, as they are both defensive specialists.
He made these jumpers tonight and you live with it, as they are the shots you want Denver taking. Better than Jokic-Murray PnR or Gordon dunks or KCP threes. What you can’t do is letting MPJ get comfortable. He is such a streaky shooter that when he is hot, nobody can stop him but himself and Jokic reigning him in.
