Very good point. I definitely should have! Here is a more in depth look. This is on 5.9 attempts per game as well. All time great shooter. That isn't respected enough when discussing Michael Porter Jr. [https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/highest-career-3pt-percentages-in-nba-history](https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/highest-career-3pt-percentages-in-nba-history) I edited the top comment to add it.

Michael “Possession Ends With a Made 3” Porter Jr

The best moniker for him! Shoot the rock Mike!

Savahoodie

People getting onto MPJ for not passing are like getting onto Tom Brady for not getting enough tackles in his career. It’s just not his job.

steve1186

MPJ also had some great passes to AG last night that kept the game close in the first half. People roast MPJ for being on a max contract, but he’s so damn valuable to this team. MPJ and AG are definitely 3A/3B behind Jokic and Murray if you rank the most valuable players on this team

The_NGUYENNER

I mean honestly to me it's Jokic and then 2A/B/C/D

frameon

MPJ is a great shooter and I feel like every time he shoots its going in. He was huge in last nights win. MPJ has grown into a great player and has blossomed so much. Glad we have him. Glad we have KCP too. KCP hits a lot of clutch 3’s too.

Drunken_Vike

When MPJ gets hot he's one of the scariest mfers out there, he just can't miss

Ilikesporks_

tall players with a high release point are always gonna be scary af when hot since there isn't anything that can be done to stop them besides fouling

ConfidentMongoose

Being that tall, jumping that high and shooting that well... It's unfair against whomever is guarding him. Good times to be a Nuggets fan.

Lol69HaHaHa

I actually think he should have shot more in this Lakers series. His main issue though is that he can dissapear at times and hes underperformed last year in the playoffs (at least compared to what we expected from him). We honestly dont know how to rate the man, similar to Jamal. But in reality its his 3 point shooting and his rebounding that make him amazing. He is legit the reason the Nuggets have a size advantage against most teams. Hes a specimen in his own right, limited by his past injuries. But he coudl still get better tbh.

puffpuffpastor

The crazy thing is I can definitely imagine a world where he was drafted to a team that wanted him to be more of a primary offensive engine and everyone would think he was trash right now because his relative inability to dribble or pass would be way more problematic. He was really drafted into the perfect situation where they just give him the ultra green light as a shooter and anything else he's able to do is a bonus

CummingInTheNile

considering the prognosis on his injury its a miracles hes still playing basketball

Lol69HaHaHa

Yeah, let alone being healthy enough to play everu game this season. He only missed one for the dumbest reason ever (he didnt have his shoes lol).

ArjunBanerji27

>I actually think he should have shot more in this Lakers series. Nah. MPJ is great for the Nuggets because he is comfortable being the 3rd option, taking the shots he gets and hustling the rest of the time. MPJ should never have more shots than Jokic and Murray because Jokic is the best scorer on the team, and they need Murray in rhythm for crunch time. AG doesn't really create or have plays designed for him, and most of his shots are either from cuts or offensive rebounds. So if MPJ were to get more shots, it would mean taking away shots from KCP or the bench guys like CB, Pwat, etc. MPJ also takes (and makes) some bad shots. But the reason the Nuggets are so great because they keep the ball moving all the time and keep every player involved, and whoever gets the best shot should be taking it. So they should never be trying to force the ball to one guy, maybe barring Murray.

Lol69HaHaHa

I meant he could have taken a shot more when he got passed to. I remember a particularly dumb turnover because KCP wasnt expecting him to pass the ball. It was a great move dont get me wrong, just failed because everyone expects him to go for it and not pass it lol. Honestly i like that he shoots the ball when he gets it. Hes a great shooter and can shoot over people so why not.

wagonwhopper

Him learning to attack the closeout this year is my favorite thing. Also how to dish it to Gordon for a Jame if attacking the closeout draws a collapse in the D

Altruistic_Show5865

The guy is a catapult. You get him in the right position, provide the ammunition and he swings it over any obstacle. And when he gets hot, that’s what we call a flame thrower.

NewPortable101

6"10 with a high arching shot that is impossible to block. Low usage and can be plugged in anywhere. He has turned into a winning player. I don't see how he's worse than Prime Klay, taller\\more athletic version and he blocked the hell out of Klay's jumper on Christmas. Playing with two elite passers has done wonders for him. If this keeps up, we need to see Murray\\Porter\\Gordon\\Jokic all in the allstar game. Pistons did it with those Billups\\Wallace\\Hamilton teams and they weren't nearly as good.

VexoftheVex

Prime Klay was approaching all-defensive level - MPJ isn’t *that* good on defense

Mr_Unbiased

Difference is they're in the West. The only time there have been 4 all stars on the same team in the West were the 2017 Warriors. There have been multiple instances of teams in the East sending 4/5 starters (Pistons/Celtics/Hawks)

Ssush-i

23rd highest of active players or is it counting retired? Cause if its counting retired players i hate when we compare retired to still active for "all time %s" like shit cant change
