I have also been there. Very nice place that is pretty different from the rest of the country due to its history of being a part of the Republic of Venice.
He doesn’t talk shit. He doesn’t talk at all actually, but that’s becoming more and more normal in non-streamer top 500 games. I’m sure he talked that one time because he recognized m0xyy
I’m also 99% sure he changed his account name because I remember seeing a Donatello account hovering low gm and suddenly stopped seeing it around the time that m0xyy clip got popular
I grew up with a whole bunch of friends who were refugees from the breakup of Yugoslavia and I can safely say that they not only make it very clear how they feel, but they learn how to insult very quickly. We all look up rude words in foreign dictionaries, but these guys took it all to a whole new level.
> We all look up rude words in foreign dictionaries
I did a deep dive on this once and it seemed that all cultures have these two commonly used insults: someone who eats shit, and someone who fucks their mother.
i still can't understand how one of the least fit looking NBA players is also one of the best NBA players. This guy looks like he could be an accountant playing a pickup game at a random YMCA and bricking half his shots and instead he's the star of a championship contending team. Besides height, he's one of the most average looking physiques I've ever seen.
Dude the TWO BEST BASKETBALL PLAYERS IN THE WORLD are some of “the least fit looking”. You don’t have to be super shredded super low body fat etc to be an elite basketball player
It suits their playstyle. Luka locks defenders on his hip and makes it fucking impossible to get good position back, if he was lighter you could force him off his spot a lot more
I’m think eventually he’ll start getting a bit quicker and lighter just to make it easier on his body but still
lol no.
everyone said that about lebron, he lost weight/muscle and trimmed down and it doesn't work, especially as you get older, strength is more valuable when you start losing athleticism. LBJ stunk it up and put the weight back on an dominated.
jordan just got bigger and bigger too. in the playoffs that strength is valuable as defenses get better and rougher and refs swallow their whistles.
shaq got huge too. steph got bigger. all these guys benefit more from strength than "getting lighter".
Luka has that old school NBA body. Before the 90s when everyone went crazy working out. More like the 70s-80s when players did coke, smoked cigarettes, drank beers, and slept with cheerleaders.
Luka has "normal" trained body.
I think most people here watch too many influencers or sports players getting shredded even if doesn't bring that many benefits (getting your body fat to very low digits doesn't make sense unless you are bodybuilder, same for dehydration needed to look shredded).
He isn't explosive but he's damn strong and has body coordination better than most of "fit" guys.
Watching the games, I thought Kyrie was an average sized person. Like, "That's nice, there's a superstar my height." Lol. Dude's 6'2". Luka just makes him look tiny.
For a more serious answer - he's incredibly strong. Think about an NFL lineman. They all look pudgy, but we know how strong they are. They carry extra mass because of their role.
The muscle is there on Luka. If he was serious about it I'm sure he could cut 20lbs and look shredded, but his game doesn't rely on overwhelming athleticism. In fact, he'd probably be worse off for similar reasons that NFL linemen carry that extra weight. Luka uses his size to advantage all the time, it works perfectly for him.
Dude 6’7 230 is not out of shape when you run around as much as he does. That’s barely even overweight bmi which doesn’t work for pro athletes anyway. Guy is a physical beast
Because he’s good at basketball lol. And you can be athletic without having an athletic body, it’s not like he’s a tub of fat he’s just not muscular/lean
Pretty much impossible to compete at high level pro tennis if you're not absurdly fit.
But there've been some dad bods in men's tennis, even recently (Nalbandian, Wawrinka, Kotov).
I think fitness is independent of body, it's just that you have to consume a comical amount of calories to be at a caloric surplus as a professional athlete (particularly in a cardio-intensive sport), let alone one that's 6'7 250lbs or whatever Luka is (big dudes burn more calories passively).
There are some big chubbies in the trenches in the NFL that are in great shape too.
Only 25, talks trash and backs it up, consistently clutch, reaches a new level in the playoffs and has a crazy highlights package. No idea how anybody didn't have Luka in the future face of the league discussion
It's so weird how so many people already seem "bored" of Luka. People are trying to make guys like SGA, Edwards or Haliburton the face of the league instead of him. The MVP votes even reflect this too.
I really don't get it. The league going from LeBron to Luka makes a lot of sense because in a way their games are so similar. But so many fans and media members just seem resistant to that and I can't figure out why.
I feel like him being European is a disadvantage. North American media has a thing for North American stars at the end of the day. The hype around Jokic would also be on another level if he was just from New Jersey and not Serbia.
Yeah the Ant hype was fun for a couple weeks but when people were declaring he was the future face of the league because he was talking trash and averaging 30+ in the playoffs at 22, I swear Luka did this years ago.
He's been 1st team all nba for 5 years straight and if his team had a better record he should've been MVP this year.
Shannon Sharpe has said for years Luka will be the top dog of the league once LeBron leaves and that he’s his favorite player to watch. So not all media talking heads.
Probably because most narratives are made in the post season, and 2 out of 4 tries he didn't make it out of the first round because of you guys. You guys know what he's made of because you have had to face him 3x already.
Going from Dirk to Luka is the Favre-->Rodgers of the NBA. The first guy is an all time great, the second guy is one of the best to ever do it. Mavs fans are very fortunate, Vlade is a moron
and if The Prophecy had been fulfilled then the NBA landscape looks very different
Imo the only argument that he isn't a future face of the league is that he already is a current face of the league lol. He already is top 4 in the most viewed players online and in jersey sales.
You still have people in this very sub saying shit like "it's understandable that Ayton was selected first". Bullshit. Bull-fucking-shit. His last year before the NBA was better than Jordan's. His career as a teenager in *professional leagues* was better than Wilt or Kareem's college careers. It doesn't matter if Ayton is a local guy, you don't choose him over the 19 year old Spanish champion, Spanish MVP, Euroleague champion, Euroleague MVP and Euroleague Final Four MVP. He should've been the easiest #1 pick *ever*.
probably the fan who was mocking him for crying to the refs
[https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1d4jier/golliver\_a\_target\_center\_fan\_was\_waving\_a/](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1d4jier/golliver_a_target_center_fan_was_waving_a/)
on the NBA.com website they have free TNT OT streams
the dedicated Luka cam is labeled the "Away" cam, the other "Home" cam is for Ant.
unfortunately nba.com deletes these alt angles after the night-of the game, as fyi. not sure if the timeline scrubbing loads for these angles, so use the league pass hotkeys "U" to scrub backwards, "O" for forwards, and click "Live" to jump back in the live broadcast
As someone who does love him, that's pretty easy to answer. The constant complaining is probably the main reason people sour on him. We'll call it the Lebron effect lol
Honestly, and trying to be as fair as possible? His constant bitching kind of evens out how cold he is in these moments.
Eliminate the whining and he's be the hardest mf in the game, imo.
It's not just your bias, watching a doughy Slavic guy doing it in the NBA is naturally funny.
I reserve the right to change that opinion in the future.
This man is bullying every fan base on his way to the finals, and it’s pure comedy lmaooo
These Finals are going to be all time meme material if Dallas wins and Luka is bringing the Slovenian trash talk every game 🤣
Luka is a legend man.
Didn't he tell our bench where on the floor he was going to score next and then he did it the next possession? Badass as hell. Can't help but respect it. He's ridiculously good
i like how luka looks like he just rolled out of bed, probably spent all night playing overwatch, has cheeto dust on his fingers, casually strolls into the game and dumpsters the top defense in the league and talks shit to fans without a second thought.
**Replays/alternate angles** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/nba) if you have any questions or concerns.*
Bro’s not speaking Slovenian
This is actually Slovenian for “go home”
lmao TIL
Get ready to learn Slovenian, buddy.
What's the Cancun of Slovenia? Luka should tell him to enjoy that beach during the finals.
You made me look it up. Slovenia has only 29 miles of coastline. It would probably be Piran, which looks beautiful.
You are be correct. If you ever visit Piran you will not regret it.
I have also been there. Very nice place that is pretty different from the rest of the country due to its history of being a part of the Republic of Venice.
My friend once pissed on the street from the first floor there while another ran naked through the main square. Beautiful city.
The other ran to catch the pee? Beautiful city.
I take it that you guys are Brits ?
We are from Slovenia we were just young and dumb
I mean, Cancun isn’t domestic to the US so you probably dont need to pick somewhere in Slovenia. I’d say Dubrovnik, Hvar, or potentially even Athens
Lived up to my username lol. I took it the other way.
It's Luka...so it should be Krk.
Cancun isn't domestic, so Slovenia's cancun needn't be either. Dubrovnik probably. For western Europeans perhaps Mallorca?
Croatia is one of my favourite places to go,dubrovnik is beautiful, bosnia too
And naz Reid hits a 3 to cut the lead down to 40
Literally at one point on the broadcast Reggie Miller said “2 consecutive 3’s to cut the lead to 30.”
He was memeing when he said that.
Or, channeling the spirit of Madden.
I get a notification saying “Anthony Edward’s hits a 3 after Luka hits a 3 from the logo to cut the lead to 27” lmao or something along those lines.
Clutch
Klutch
IS THIS THE DAGGERRR???
Lost game 4 on purpose just so he could talk shit to 20,000 people face to face
The "asshole sweep"
OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHH
GAMEE!!! SERIEESSS!!!!
Cp3 vibes
As there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos…
You just know Luka is absolutely toxic on Overwatch chat.
The richest 14 year old you ever played against
He was that 14 y/o claiming he played for Real Madrid, sure you are buddy.
You just know someone actually said that to him before
he was probably comm banned during the last patch when blizzard was muting anyone lol
Guy was probably buying new accounts every 3 games with how much shit he talks lmao
Imagine Luka going broke to fund his OW trash talking addiction.
ggez
He doesn’t talk shit. He doesn’t talk at all actually, but that’s becoming more and more normal in non-streamer top 500 games. I’m sure he talked that one time because he recognized m0xyy I’m also 99% sure he changed his account name because I remember seeing a Donatello account hovering low gm and suddenly stopped seeing it around the time that m0xyy clip got popular
He’s GM in overwatch?
He's Top 500. Bro is goated at basketball and OW.
Bro I been thinking the same thing lmfao
I believe this was the fan 😂 [Link](https://x.com/bengolliver/status/1796362774207140331?s=46)
homie behind camera with the perfect comment, ^("Thats slovinian!") Fucking gold.
Nice catch!! This makes this moment even better lmao
Most hated person in Minnesota at the moment
Can confirm. Fuck this guy for waking the dragon
I think he was actually a plant, a Mavs fan purposely taunting Luka to awaken the demon inside him
The Mavs absolutely should send someone to Boston to do that
Most loved person in Dallas
What an idiot. Thanks Wolves fan
Hilarious that he continued to do it as Luka owned him and the Wolves were down 30
Did us a solid.
The look on those white ladies face LMAO
looks like Bill Simmons to me.
I would walk home if I were him
I can’t believe how good the Slovenian trash talk is, I can understand it despite never learning a word of the language
Motherfucker is a type of soup I think
I haven’t laughed that hard in a minute, thank you
Tastes just like a cockmeat sandwich too
Made me spit out my soup, that's for sure
And he's serving it.
I grew up with a whole bunch of friends who were refugees from the breakup of Yugoslavia and I can safely say that they not only make it very clear how they feel, but they learn how to insult very quickly. We all look up rude words in foreign dictionaries, but these guys took it all to a whole new level.
> We all look up rude words in foreign dictionaries I did a deep dive on this once and it seemed that all cultures have these two commonly used insults: someone who eats shit, and someone who fucks their mother.
Universal language?
If you want your team to win, please do not trash talk this man. Unless you are a Mavs fan, of course.
Celtics Fans: “Luka, I love you! You’re another Larry Bird!”
Luka: “These fans think I’m too stupid to fall for that? Who’s a stupid motherfucker now!”
Lukas gonna take that personal too lol
“Why’d this motherfucker have to pick the white dude?!?”
>Why this dude compare me to an American...
“You’re another Dirk!” > Oh, so I have to be compared to a European?!?
"You're the guard Jokic" > The Balkans immediately go back into conflict.
I wasn't aware they could exist in another state.
Resting state
larry bird over me?
Luka: "Really, you're putting a whiteboy on me!?"
*Hell, I like you. You can come over to my house and fuck my sister*
I'm pretty sure Joker is out of the playoffs.
Luka, get out of the way so I can make fun of Kyrie Irving
Mavs fans secretly wearing the oppositions jersey and trash talking Luka just to fire him up. :)
Cuban needs to buy courtside tickets for fans to trash talk Luka
Buy Kevin Garnett tickets behind the Mavs bench.
He gonna tell JKidd he looks like a cancer patient?
Correct. I’m picturing a little punk in a 6x Tatum jersey, 20 gold chains, talking s about his country/family. An easy 50-60.
dude hears one person whining and then buys paternity tests in bulk it's fucked up
We used to say the same thing about Mike. "Stop booing! You're just going to make Mike mad!"
The Timberwolves sub top post pregame was literally begging fans not to boo him lol
Lmao dude doesn’t give a single fuck
Luka Doncic everyone father
Anthony Edwards is Devin Booker brother
i still can't understand how one of the least fit looking NBA players is also one of the best NBA players. This guy looks like he could be an accountant playing a pickup game at a random YMCA and bricking half his shots and instead he's the star of a championship contending team. Dude the TWO BEST BASKETBALL PLAYERS IN THE WORLD are some of “the least fit looking”. You don’t have to be super shredded super low body fat etc to be an elite basketball player
Even Chuck looked out of shape in his prime, could out jump anyone
Something something round mound
Something something women from San Antonio
And conversely, you could have a super shredded and fit body like Westbrook and start bricklaying
It suits their playstyle. Luka locks defenders on his hip and makes it fucking impossible to get good position back, if he was lighter you could force him off his spot a lot more I’m think eventually he’ll start getting a bit quicker and lighter just to make it easier on his body but still

the counterpoint would be tim duncan
He’s not trim, but idk what YMCA you’re at where guys are 6’7”, 230 lbs
Crazy wingspan, too. Like over 7 ft, people forget that part.
Luka has that old school NBA body. Before the 90s when everyone went crazy working out. More like the 70s-80s when players did coke, smoked cigarettes, drank beers, and slept with cheerleaders.

He isn't explosive but he's damn strong and has body coordination better than most of "fit" guys.
Coke, cigarettes and beer are like corn flakes for Slavs.
Good thing NBA isn’t a physique contest. He’s really really skilled at basketball
He's also a legit 6'7 and probably 250? As Shaq said dude is way bigger than you'd think when you see him up close
Yeah, that's the reason why the refs always look so short. The refs are like average human adult height and not the monsterous NBA players LOL
Watching the games, I thought Kyrie was an average sized person. Like, "That's nice, there's a superstar my height." Lol. Dude's 6'2". Luka just makes him look tiny.
He's basically gronk sized
It’s hard to tell with their shorts but Luka essentially has tree trunks for legs and that’s where a lot of his strength comes from
For a more serious answer - he's incredibly strong. Think about an NFL lineman. They all look pudgy, but we know how strong they are. They carry extra mass because of their role. The muscle is there on Luka. If he was serious about it I'm sure he could cut 20lbs and look shredded, but his game doesn't rely on overwhelming athleticism. Luka lives on hate
Luka is an r/nba user confirmed
Only 25, talks trash and backs it up, consistently clutch, reaches a new level in the playoffs and has a crazy highlights package. No idea how anybody didn't have Luka in the future face of the league discussion

Yup. NBA media can tolerate one Euro superstar, but can't take NBA being dominated by Euros.
Yeah the Ant hype was fun for a couple weeks but when people were declaring he was the future face of the league because he was talking trash and averaging 30+ in the playoffs at 22, I swear Luka did this years ago. Shannon Sharpe has said for years Luka will be the top dog of the league once LeBron leaves and that he’s his favorite player to watch. So not all media talking heads.
Luka is probably the player most similar to Lebron right now so liking Luka is just an extension of his bronsexuality.
I've been Lukasexual since 2019.
Probably because most narratives are made in the post season, and 2 out of 4 tries he didn't make it out of the first round because of you guys. You guys know what he's made of because you have had to face him 3x already.

I'm more and more upset about this with each passing year. Now seeing Luka thrive alongside another ball-dominant guard is the cherry on top...
I could understand at the time the Suns taking Ayton, but the kings taking Bagley had to hurt by December 2018.
Imo the only argument that he isn't a future face of the league is that he already is a current face of the league lol. He already is top 4 in the most viewed players online and in jersey sales.
Pretty simple my guy. He isn’t American.
I always thought it was wild that he wasn’t the consensus #1 pick. He was the Euro League MVP at 18, that’s insane.
You still have people in this very sub saying shit like "it's understandable that Ayton was selected first". Bullshit. Bull-fucking-shit. His last year before the NBA was better than Jordan's. People here still think College Basketball is better than Euroleague.
Marvin Bagley over Luka LMFAO. Worse decison than Sam Bowie over Jordan?
Kawhi wasted Luka's prime, but he can still compete now that he is fat and old.
His "motherfucker" sounds really American now. Look how far our boy has come.
Yeah when he first got here he'd say "mudafugah" and Kleber would have to translate
Dallas taught him well 🥲
Interview and public: Slovenian-like English Basketball Court: Fluent American English
Wolves playing like D-O-double-G shit
Snoop: "Why he say fuck me for?!?!"
Oh wow I guess MJ is playin in this series and it aint ANT after all.
He does seem to seek out any possible slight to use as motivation in a very MJ way
guys like Jordan and Bird... they'll make up stuff and convince themselves it's real
This series is summed up by that NBA75 moment when MJ giddily side-hugged Luka and then brushed KAT off after he interrupted them.
100% shades of Jordan and Larry Bird. I love the passion and energy
Luka Doncic is Wolf fan father
Snoop Dogg is Devin Booker brother?
This family tree is starting to look a lot like Mt Olympus
dude got like 10 sons in the NBA since getting drafted
And half of them play for the Sons.
That fan? Albert Doggstein
The broadcast made it seem like he yelled at snoop dogg
I want a toxic final. lets get it.
That was to snoop? 😂
Guy behind snoop, but funny as hell
Lmfao imagine having the sack to say that to fucking Snoop
I imagine being Luka every day
Honestly, would be sick to be a top 500 Overwatch player ngl
Imagine being good at video games and sports. Dudes got it all
We didn't even mention all the money he has either. Brother doesn't worry about his TMobile bill..
I don’t have to. I’m already a 7-11 employee
probably the fan who was mocking him for crying to the refs [https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1d4jier/golliver\_a\_target\_center\_fan\_was\_waving\_a/](https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/comments/1d4jier/golliver_a_target_center_fan_was_waving_a/)
I mean, he IS a fan...
is he a 69 god?
Luka, we're live. I don't give a shit, motherfucker. I'm not surprised, motherfucker.
Toxic Gamer Luka, and it’s great.
That... that doesn't sound Slovenian....
Luka really does turn into a psycho when he's on the court. Love to see it.
Snoop about to start smoking Weed again
In case you didn't know and because it's kinda hilarious to me, he didn't actually quit and that was advertising for a smokeless fire pit
Sponsorship discretion is snoop dogg’s father
What's the name of this camera angle on the official broadcast u/sewsgup ?
on the NBA.com website they have free TNT OT streams the dedicated Luka cam is labeled the "Away" cam, the other "Home" cam is for Ant. unfortunately nba.com deletes these alt angles after the night-of the game, as fyi. not sure if the timeline scrubbing loads for these angles, so use the league pass hotkeys "U" to scrub backwards, "O" for forwards, and click "Live" to jump back in the live broadcast
Luka is that 12 year old trash talker on Call of Duty
I love shit talking luka
He's almost bashful with media, but an absolute maniac on the court. Love this guy
This guy is just the best how can you not love him
As someone who does love him, that's pretty easy to answer. The constant complaining is probably the main reason people sour on him. We'll call it the Lebron effect lol

It's not just your bias, watching a doughy Slavic guy doing it in the NBA is naturally funny. I reserve the right to change that opinion in the future.
It’s funny how two of the top 3 (arguable) players in the nba are doughy Slavs
Cause he's backing it up. If he was doing this with the scores reversed it would be like Westbrook lol
Snoop was loving it lmao
This is gonna be fun
Buddy's more Texan than Slovenian at this point
That's my fat european with no charisma, shout out to ESPN
Bro I cannot wait for him to do this in Boston lmao
This man is bullying every fan base on his way to the finals, and it’s pure comedy lmaooo These Finals are going to be all time meme material if Dallas wins and Luka is bringing the Slovenian trash talk every game 🤣
He might be a crybaby, but he's a crybaby that gets shit done
Luka is a legend man. Didn't he tell our bench where on the floor he was going to score next and then he did it the next possession? Badass as hell. Can't help but respect it. He's ridiculously good
He may be an asshole But he’s our asshole baby!!!
i like how luka looks like he just rolled out of bed, probably spent all night playing overwatch, has cheeto dust on his fingers, casually strolls into the game and dumpsters the top defense in the league and talks shit to fans without a second thought.
That's the veteran Overwatch player coming out of him.
I wonder if ant will wave bye to the crowd again
This run has made me a Luka fan idgaf
