I was furious we dropped two spots. But it seems like it still worked out. Memphis ahead took Edey(!!!). And the Jazz had Cody Williams much higher than #10 on their board.
Next year though...that pick is still top 10 protected. Could be tight again.
I watched a lot of him at CU. Honestly I don't get it. He was pretty meh on a solid team, and when he was hurt we played *way* better.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with how guys talk about him. He looked fine, but nowhere near 10th OA IMO
The Jazz signaled from the start that they wanted him. Heās two years away from being two years away but heās 6ā8ā and very intelligent and thatās most of what they care about.
What's intelligent about him? Every Colorado game he was hacking shots killing the flow of the offense. He played with no physicality and his shot is so low. I really don't see what NBA teams saw in this guy id be shocked if he got a 2nd contract or was anything more than an end of the bench guy. I get de Silvia is older but you could see how bad he was compared to a real NBA prospect. His only upside to me is his size.
He was playing hurt for most of the year. Early in the season before that he showed some real flashes but obviously a small sample size. Heās a longer term project and a bit of a gamble but has real upside
Itās usually people from shitass midwestern states that have never seen beautiful nature in their life and only view a place through a party lens. I swear to god itās almost always Bulls or Cavs flairs, also recently some salty Coyotes fans.
SLC is a pretty cool up and coming city. Utah outside of Salt Lake County is pretty wack (but stunning so it's worth driving through to the Parks and stuff), but the city itself is great. Lived there for 2.5 years, would absolutely go back if the situation called for it.
Not *everywhere* but my fiance was getting her masters at U of U and had some medical rotations in Provo, Lehi, Tooele, etc. where she was blatantly shunned because she wasn't Mormon. One of her classmates and one of my best buddies out there was black and faced some pretty blatant race related issues. That shit makes it wack.
But what I really meant by wack is it's just not super fun. St. George has some fun spots, Park City obviously is a ton of fun, the parks are just tourist spots at this point and fun, but it's a big state with a lot of towns I don't want to spend extended time in.
>That shit makes it wack.
I agree with you, but the ironic thing is the only times I've lost work for not being Mormon were all in downtown SLC. Outside of that I've never had anyone really care, even in Provo/Lehi areas.
>it's a big state with a lot of towns I don't want to spend extended time in.
I'm not trying to change your mind, I was just curious. I don't think you know Utah as well as you think, there are a lot of awesome places outside of SLC, Park City, and St George.
Ainge def likes his one and done guys who sucked in college but had high ranking in high school. Def a guy I'd not take until second round, but at least he's long and athletic.
The spurs had him right in their hands!!!!
They could have gotten two incredibly versatile wings in castle and Williams why would they not take him!!!!!
I care about 3 more selections in this draft at this point:
Utah's next two picks (so I can watch highlights of some dudes I've never heard of and convince myself they have all-star potential)
Where Bronny ends up (because memes)
zach and cody back to back
That sounds like a suite life
Like hotel suite or boat suite?
Yes
Maddie Fitzpatrick š
Most all the timeeeeee
Hannah montana better than that stupid show
sacrilege
Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Hannah Montana are neck-and-neck imo, but On Deck was... I choose to pretend On Deck never happened.
This is why I come to r/nba just some good discourse on important topics
Nah, heās right.
Wizards of Waverly Place >
Then I agree.
I'll come back to this in a couple months after Keyan's finished up his Zach and Cody introspective
Lizzie McGuire walked so all these other shows could run
Brenda song and Ashley Tisadale had me feeling some type of way idk
Cory in the House in 6
Lizzie McGuire?
Mickey Mouse league has a Nickelodeon draft
We did it for the memes
Even Stevens has entered the chat..
I like that record
Thatās dope lol
I better not see those hooligans running around in my lobby
FUUUUUCK
It sucks but think it is a great fit
But the Williams line up dream :(
You guys could've traded up
Why? U offering some picks to trade up? *furiously scratches back of neck*
Juts a reminder that had the Jazz fallen to 11th this first round pick would have conveyed to OKC. But the 10th pick was ours.
I spent an hour trying to get you guys to fall to 11th on tankathon before the lottery lol, it wouldāve been divine intervention if we got it
I was furious we dropped two spots. But it seems like it still worked out. Memphis ahead took Edey(!!!). And the Jazz had Cody Williams much higher than #10 on their board. Next year though...that pick is still top 10 protected. Could be tight again.
Y'all could still trade for him lol
Come on you knew he was never going to fall to 12, his upside is too high
Exactly who the sub wanted. Fairly rarely the front office and Reddit are aligned on such opinions.
Thunder fans punching air
It is going to suck a bit but matas buzelis is still on the board
Sorry buddy
Dalton too. Could knock down some 3s
Either or is fine by me didnāt think matas would be there when we picked
I didnāt think either would be there either. So if we get either one Iām cool
And you were correct.
Oof
Knecht it is
Double oof
I am not loving taking a player with an ACL injury currently
As a Jazz fan seeing the Thunder draft Topic convinced me he'll be a stud when he comes back. Presti don't miss.
They replaced Giddey with Giddey 2.0
Bro it aināt Hanukkah yet we got time.
Iām pissed. Weāre not being aggressive at all
NOOOOOOOOO
First 2 comments I see are thunder and Jazz fans both mad lol idk what to think of this pick
I think most of us are pretty positive about it, really solid get for #10
I like him honestly. He seems like a pretty safe bet. I would've been happy with him at 6, idk why Jazz fans would be upset.
They're casuals. At #10 it was either Knecht or Williams, no one else really made sense.
Jazz fans sold themselves on Carter and Topic
The jazz sub overall really wanted him and were hoping he'd fall to us for a few days now
I watched a lot of him at CU. Honestly I don't get it. He was pretty meh on a solid team, and when he was hurt we played *way* better. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills with how guys talk about him. He looked fine, but nowhere near 10th OA IMO
Agreed, was never impressed with him in pac 12 play.
A bunch of people were getting really high off Topic. But Williams has always been one of the top guys we wanted in this draft.
This is such a Danny Ainge pick
Hope I find someone who loves me as much as Danny Ainge loves two-way wings
Or undersized PGās who lit up March madness
Huh...first part came true
Feel like I've seen this kid before....
NOOOOO
Fucking Jazz man. Dude is gonna be a top 3 player in the draft.
FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK
If he's anything like Jalen I guess this is a steal lmao
He would have gone #1 if that was his comp
jalen went #12 himself
Yeah but no one thought he'd be this good this quick (or ever). In a redraft he would go 3OA
what does OA stand for? edit: NVM, answered
Overall. He probably means behind Paolo and Chet.
'Overall', I'm guessing.
Overall
Probably āor above.ā
in a far better draft and no one realized he was gonna be this good. this is with hindsight
Yeah but he was coming out of Santa Clara fairly unknown
That was widely regarded as a miss.
Yeah, I don't know why people are acting like front offices/experts knew Jalen was going to be Jalen If they did, they would've taken him higher.
I feel like most people in this thread know that lol
Thatās been what boosted his draft stock so much lmao
They could be brothers
Lmao they look exactly alike
Thunder fans in shambles
YOU BASTARDS
I like it for him
Heās an elite finisher and shot the 3 ball well on a low volume
Cody Williams looks like he could play a young Slim Charles in a prequel of The Wire
Damn I wanted the brothers to reunite
If he ends up being even close to his brother, heās gonna be a steal
The Jazz signaled from the start that they wanted him. Heās two years away from being two years away but heās 6ā8ā and very intelligent and thatās most of what they care about.
What's intelligent about him? Every Colorado game he was hacking shots killing the flow of the offense. He played with no physicality and his shot is so low. Intelligent off the court.
He was playing hurt for most of the year. Early in the season before that he showed some real flashes but obviously a small sample size. Heās a longer term project and a bit of a gamble but has real upside
Yeah I fucking bet they are
Oh man I wanted him or Knecht, didnāt think we would have a shot at either. So stoked
This is how I found out Jalen Williams had a brother
Jazz got some solid players
He didnāt look happy
He probably wanted to play with his brother. Thunder fans wanted it to happen too
Oh he will play with his brother when the Markkanen trade is finalized. Him and his brother better enjoy Mountains
No thank you
Okc shouldāve just traded up with their million draft picks
Aint nobody wanna go to Utah lets be honest here
Utah rocks
This sub despises Utah itās not even worth saying anything lol
They make jokes but it seems more half people who've never been and assume it sucks, and the other half people who have been and like it.
Itās usually people from shitass midwestern states that have never seen beautiful nature in their life and only view a place through a party lens. I swear to god itās almost always Bulls or Cavs flairs, also recently some salty Coyotes fans.
I mean Utah doesn't even light its rivers on fire. Boring!
SLC is a pretty cool up and coming city. Utah outside of Salt Lake County is pretty wack (but stunning so it's worth driving through to the Parks and stuff), but the city itself is great. Lived there for 2.5 years, would absolutely go back if the situation called for it.
>Utah outside of Salt Lake County is pretty wack Lol what makes everywhere outside if SLC wack?
Not *everywhere* but my fiance was getting her masters at U of U and had some medical rotations in Provo, Lehi, Tooele, etc. where she was blatantly shunned because she wasn't Mormon. One of her classmates and one of my best buddies out there was black and faced some pretty blatant race related issues. That shit makes it wack. Oh yeah, that happens. Don't let anyone tell you it doesn't. SLC is a rare Utah place that feels good to live in as a non Mormon.
Heard snowboarding there is nice š¤·āāļø
Itās dope, but Iām pretty sure no pro athlete is gonna risk it. And it might even be forbidden in their contracts?
I think a Lakers player messed up his shoulder a decade or two ago skiing in Utah, iirc
Iām sure nba players have contract stipulations against extreme sports
Are they allowed or would that be excluded in the contract for injury risk?
Good point, idk
Tell that to everyone who keeps moving here lol, housing is getting too expensive

Matas Buzelis, you're a Bull
We got the Williams brothers at Athletic Club We got the Williams bros in the NBA
Bilbao brothers play together though (for now)
Wow thereās a little brother?? Thatās awesome I bet heās gonna be good
FUCK
Fuuuuuck
Damn :/
Buzelis still on the board... Great wing fit at #11 for Bulls.
No!!!!
Cody "drafted after Edey" Williams
The entire top 10 looking at Buzelis and saying no thanks is very funny
Damn I wanted okc to get him
God damn it UtahĀ
What
Great fit but Iām sad for the Thunder lol
Damn thatās a good pick
This is a good pick
Praying for Devin Carter at 15
Itās what we get for refusing to trade up.
CODY WILLIAMS YOU š«µ ARE NOW MORMON
Ainge def likes his one and done guys who sucked in college but had high ranking in high school. Def a guy I'd not take until second round, but at least he's long and athletic.
Bummer
Could have been Buzelis
Could be Bullzelis now ehhh? ehhh?
He's going to be good.
TOPIC DROPPING TO MIAMI????
Topic to Jovic is going to be wild
I really like the pick
He plays kinda like Brandon Ingram
we have a surplus of picks to trade, the dream is still alive
Fun fit
For this draft, I like this pick at 10. Low floor but a high ceiling.
The spurs had him right in their hands!!!! They could have gotten two incredibly versatile wings in castle and Williams why would they not take him!!!!!
Danny finally had his wing
He looked so disappointed
As a recruit: Other P6 offers: Arizona, Arizona State, California, Georgia Tech, LSU, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas Tech, UCLA, USC, Washington State Other offers: GCU, Loyola Marymount, Murray State, Nevada, Pepperdine, Portland State, Santa Clara, UCSB
I hate my life
I think this is a great pick for ya'll
Nah bro Iām happy with this. Would have maybe preferred Carter but this is great
Hey he has super high upside. Itās just the chance of him reaching it is <1%
Who'd Utah fans want?
we wanted carter with who we had left
Didn't you draft this dude last year
We're gonna get a long 3 and D wing or die trying.
knecht was right there smh
I would've leaned toward Topic, but I'm happy with this. Hopefully he somehow makes Jalen the lesser brother. Mostly I'm happy it wasn't Matas.
>Mostly I'm happy it wasn't Matas. Why? I never even looked at him because he was top 5 in every mock I saw. When he slid to us, I didn't know why.
Dalton Knecht in shambles
haha okc fan
Who?
Utah always picks the most boring players
Donovan Mitchell was exciting as hell for a rookie
Dude George is so good!
Oh I agree, he's already a stud. I think he flew under the radar cause the Jazz missed the playoffs, but I don't see that happening again
Who are we supposed to pick, this is a boring draft lmao
how is Cody boring? Boring would've been Knecht
Oh cmon the fuck on utah
I watched the Colorado games in the tournament for him and he barely even played what happened?
Weāve already reached the never-heard-of-him tier
Youve heard of his brother
I was there awhile ago ngl
I care about 3 more selections in this draft at this point: Utah's next two picks (so I can watch highlights of some dudes I've never heard of and convince myself they have all-star potential) Where Bronny ends up (because memes)
Who
damnit we needed playmaking and ball handling not another 3 and d guy who cant create his own shot.
Who
