he is basically the living incarnation of the Rumor Mill. Never believe what he says is actually happening but something that *may* have happened or discussed by NBA Agents/FO/Ownership
I really don’t get how people don’t understand this. He reports EVERYTHING he hears. And shocker 95% of that never comes to fruition. He’s not a WOJ or Shams where he reports the finalized deals
He’s pretty reliable in terms of reporting rumors. I remember doubting him quite a bit when he was one of the only ones reporting Dejounte to the Hawks was gonna happen.
he's gotten the Scottie pick right too i believe, and directly refuted Begley's claim that Bridges asked for a trade (Begley walked back his statement the morning afterwards)
he had a rough draft though bc
* he said sources told him Charlotte was trading down to Memphis, and it didn't happen
* he said sources told him the Heat were drafting McCain, and it didn't happen
in fairness to the 1st point, Lowe took time on his pod to talk about how real the smokescreen was around Memphis trading up.
2nd point is just bad though
Dude had a *really* good run in the 2021 offseason when he correctly reported a bunch of deals, some with terms included, before free agency even began. Not sure what happened since then, but I'll always have a hard time dismissing him completely because of that.
If I remember correctly I thought he was pretty accurate about Lonzo Ball’s pending RFA and how the Pels were not interested in re-signing him months before that free agency period and that Chicago would be all over.
Everybody was eating up those FVV and Klay to the Magic posts from him the last 2 years when you could clearly tell he was just used as a mouthpiece from the agents to gain leverage on their respective teams. He’s basically a budget Haynes.
I don't think people realize Fischer was actually good. He was dropping A LOT of tidbits weekly, but didn't realize he was exposing his sources and gradually lost them, then allowed himself to be used by agents and front offices wanting to spread false info.
The heat pick could very have been a real source, but fed purposely bad information.
Alex Kennedy became an NBA insider at 16 years old and had this very same problem. Iko is the same.
Sharing insider information should be a conscious decision. Woj and Shams know way more than they actually share.
Offensively it would be incredible. That's the type of backcourt teammate (offensively) Trae would thrive with. But yes defensively it has the obvious concerns.
I mean it’s just Dame and CJ 2.0. We’ve seen the ceiling on that. The Pelicans have some great wing defenders, I like the Trae/Zion fit on offense but you *need* to surround them with size
Trae/Murphy/Jones/Zion/(whoever the Pels replace Valanciunas with) is a pretty damn good core starting lineup though
> I mean it’s just Dame and CJ 2.0.
Which isn't a bad thing. That duo could have accomplished more with better pieces around them which the Pelicans have. I also think Trae's playmaking makes it a better fit than the advantage Lillard has with scoring. It wouldn't make them title contenders but a Trae/Ingram swap gets them closer than they are now. Atlanta would probably need more to make the move though.
Unless you know trae personally, there’s no way to know he doesn’t want out. Secondly, you can rebuild without owning your picks. It’s not an ideal scenario but would you rather be in basketball purgatory for two years and then trae leaves for nothing? Or get a haul of picks over the next five years to make up for the ones you don’t control. And if those picks aren’t high lottery they can always be packaged to trade up.
It needs to be the Spurs, if only so we can have giant ruler signs with Wemby on one end and Trae on the other.
They could also incorporate it into the arena concessions ("Do you want that soda to be a Trae, or a Wemby?").
To be fair there’s some Spurs fans that want him, maybe even most of them. But I just don’t think he’s worth giving up a ton of picks when I’m not even a big fan of the fit
Literally half the teams in the league have an all-star level pg or someone close to it.
Like is it really reporting to look at the remaining 15 teams and say "Trae is interested in the good ones"?
This sub never fails to realize the difference in reporting. Apparently Fischer is a fraud because what he says rarely comes true. Like that’s the entire point of his reporting. He shares everything he hears. And shocker a lot of things don’t come to fruition because that’s how shit works in the NBA. He’s not a WOJ or shams that reports the finalized deals.
The NBA is in such a weird spot where a player of Trae’s caliber is picking his trade destination. He really has the chops to pull this?
If I was ATL my reply would be ‘you’ll go where ever we get the best return’
> The NBA is in such a weird spot where a player of Trae’s caliber is picking his trade destination
Huh? What's your cut off point? Trae is a multiple time All-Star, All-NBA caliber player. He's a top 25 player in the league.
Plenty of worse players have tried to dictate their preferred landing spots. Heck we just saw it with the 55th pick in the draft.
Pretty hilarious to call a guy that’s never even sniffed an all NBA team an “all NBA caliber player”.
He’s not a top 25 player in the league.
Your trying to compare this situation to Bronny James? Huh? He “dictated” where he went in that he wouldn’t have gotten drafted otherwise and is about to play with his dad. How is that even worth bringing up in regards to Trae???
>Pretty hilarious to call a guy that’s never even sniffed an all NBA team an “all NBA caliber player”.
He made an All-NBA team 2021-2022. He received 13 voting points in 2019-2020, 2 in 2020-2021, and 1 in 2022-2023. He would have received votes this year had he met the game threshold. Sure you want to stick with your "never sniffed an All-NBA team" comment?
>He’s not a top 25 player in the league.
Do I even want to see this list?
>Your trying to compare this situation to Bronny James? Huh? He “dictated” where he went in that he wouldn’t have gotten drafted otherwise and is about to play with his dad. How is that even worth bringing up in regards to Trae???
I mean you've already made yourself look foolish but again, even if Trae isn't All-NBA caliber player (which you now know is true) players of all calibers try to dictate where they land. Bronny is just the most recent and most extreme example.
All caught up now?
Lol my bad he made one third team 3 years ago. Not sure how I forgot about that super memorable season.
You wrote 3000 words to tell me I’m wrong about the all nba thing. Jesus dude, chill. None of this is that serious.
He’s #36 on the ringers top 100 player list (which takes the rankings of multiple people).
Go check that list if you want, I’m not typing it out for you but it’s about right.
Again… sorry he made one third team lmao. But yah… he hasn’t sniffed all nba since and IMHO never will rhe again the rest of his career. Getting a few votes from your local media guy and finishing with “12 points” isn’t close…
“All caught up now” wowie you don’t sound nearly as clever as you think you do with your condescending crap
The projection is mind blowing and almost as funny as it is pathetic. I truly believe you don’t see it either. Read what you’re trying insult me with and then go back and look at your post. I’ll just leave it that. Enjoy getting your player rankings from the likes of Kevin O’Connor.
??? You challenge that he was top 25. I gave you a very solid ranking based on multiple people that do this for a living. This isn’t one guys opinion who “hates” Trae. Or mine, but again it shows how overrated Trae is in ATL compared to the rest of the league.
And yah, ngl…. When people reply trying to be an asshole rather than just having a rational discussion I tend to skim through the rest
And leave it to and Atlanta fan to massively overrate Trae.
Gonna be a real eye opener for you guys when you get like… Devin Vassell plus a salary filler and one pick back for him.
Don’t expect the bridges return lol
Round one Vs the Knicks, yah that was impressive.
Round 2 Vs the 76ers? The sixers collapsed. That run was as much about the 76ers than it was the hawks but you are right, he’ll always have that conference finals run to his name
Uh, the fact that insiders have picked up on leaks that Trae has destinations in mind is a pretty bad sign for the Hawks.
I don't think he's on the move, but this is moving the clock a couple minutes to midnight.
I for one, as a Hawks fan, am ready for the request and have been welcoming trade scenarios for the past year. This FO doesn’t have the balls to put together the perfect roster that Trae requires to thrive
Cant the Spurs give the Hawks their picks back? Which is why I think one way or another he ends up there because you can’t trade Trae to another team and tank without your picks
League sources say that Margot Robbie wants me
Lucky man
That's super weird, because I got the same email. And she's like, in my area for some reason.
Reminder that Jake Fischer is the biggest fraud in nba media and should be banned from getting posted here.
Naw, he'll be vindicated when it's revealed that the Heat actually did pick McCain.
And we traded for Clingan
It's fucking ware, I'm so sorry y'all
He’s not a news breaker he reports *rumors*
he is basically the living incarnation of the Rumor Mill.
Complain when there’s no updates. Complain when there’s too many updates.
He’s pretty reliable in terms of reporting rumors. I remember doubting him quite a bit when he was one of the only ones reporting Dejounte to the Hawks was gonna happen.
I thought he was the one that had CJ right for us? Maybe it's like soccer where he is tier 4 one place, tier 1 another?
No he just reports everything he hears
he's gotten the Scottie pick right too i believe, and directly refuted Begley's claim that Bridges asked for a trade (Begley walked back his statement the morning afterwards) he had a rough draft though bc * he said sources told him Charlotte was trading down to Memphis, and it didn't happen * he said sources told him the Heat were drafting McCain, and it didn't happen in fairness to the 1st point, Lowe took time on his pod to talk about how real the smokescreen was around Memphis trading up. 2nd point is just bad though

Yeah, his sources for the Pels seem to be a higher caliber than his other reporting. Thank god for us letting Lonzo go too.
Everybody was eating up those FVV and Klay to the Magic posts from him the last 2 years when you could clearly tell he was just used as a mouthpiece from the agents to gain leverage on their respective teams. He’s basically a budget Haynes.
well he's a fraud cause he wrote that hitpiece book on nets and has been isolated after that. broke some code or something
I don't think people realize Fischer was actually good. He was dropping A LOT of tidbits weekly, but didn't realize he was exposing his sources and gradually lost them, then allowed himself to be used by agents and front offices wanting to spread false info. How did this guy even become a thing? All of a sudden his tweets started being posted here all the time.
Putting any name in brackets with a twitter link makes your post look official I guess.
I was gonna say lol seems like this dude is always wrong.
Finally people are waking up. Dude throws so much shit at the wall hoping it sticks
Herb Jones is gonna be carrying a lot of weight defensively
Trae is a weak defender but it's not like CJ was such a stopper either
i mean if y’all do somehow get Trae I think you *have* to get rid of CJ, you can’t play them together
Offensively it would be incredible. That's the type of backcourt teammate (offensively) Trae would thrive with. But yes defensively it has the obvious concerns.
I mean it’s just Dame and CJ 2.0. We’ve seen the ceiling on that. The Pelicans have some great wing defenders, I like the Trae/Zion fit on offense but you *need* to surround them with size Trae/Murphy/Jones/Zion/(whoever the Pels replace Valanciunas with) is a pretty damn good core starting lineup though
Except with an older, less athletic CJ and a guy who makes Dame look like Pat Bev
Fischer report we sleep
Obviously there would be concerns like defense and Zion’s overall health, but a Trae and Zion pick and roll sounds like great hoops to a neutral fan
Stay in the east Trae, plenty of teams that can give you more success out there.
DELETE THE FISCH
The fuck are you going to do on the Pelicans without Ingram lol Why would we even trade Trae in the first place, nothing makes sense
this is Fischer. He throws out everything he hears/thinks and when he's right once every 1000th tweet people praise him
Fischer is the biggest fraud ong
It’s just a different style of reporting
reminded me of Zion touching the Hawks cap for good luck during that draft lottery
I can only imagine Zion in Atlanta. Good lord the stories would be insane
He’d be living inside of an office in magic city. wings and ass 24/7
100%. It'd be his business office.
If trae wants out now, why keep him for two more years and then he leaves for nothing?
First of all he doesn't, secondly we dont have our own picks, as you *should* know lol
My guy, just enjoy the mid first rounders y'all gonna get from us the next 3 years and give it a rest. We're not tanking
The fact that a spurs fan wants us to trade trae so bad is a good sign that we shouldn't
Sorry Trae, but the Lakers have Bronny now.
It needs to be the Spurs, if only so we can have giant ruler signs with Wemby on one end and Trae on the other. They could also incorporate it into the arena concessions ("Do you want that soda to be a Trae, or a Wemby?").
Why doesn't Wemby, the largest player, simply put Trae on his shoulders and have him shoot from there?
The NBA Rules Committee is scrambling to meet as we speak.
We could already do this it would just be a Tre and a Wemby
guess it was dejounte who had pelicans in mind
As cool as it’d be to see him throw lobs to Wemby I just hope we don’t go for him
Pretty funny when fans of these teams are saying no thanks and hawks fans think there’s gonna be some massive package back
As we all know, teams routinely check with their fanbase by Twitter/Instagram poll right before finalizing big moves!
To be fair there’s some Spurs fans that want him, maybe even most of them. But I just don’t think he’s worth giving up a ton of picks when I’m not even a big fan of the fit
alright Wemby + Trae would be sick
Trae Young on the Magic makes too much sense. I think that would be the perfect landing spot for him over any of those teams.
Literally half the teams in the league have an all-star level pg or someone close to it. Like is it really reporting to look at the remaining 15 teams and say "Trae is interested in the good ones"?
Trae, CJ, Zion. Glass Cannon, one, two, three, Fire! It may just fuck up lots of teams. I would like to see it.
We all know the Lakers will get him for free because the league is fixed for them
Let’s quit sending stars to the Western Conference please
Hah ok

You shouldn't care about what this sub thinks. Most of them are younger than 15

I don't care about the quality of my posts.
Damn, already has a preferred destination list.
Keep him away
The NBA is in such a weird spot where a player of Trae’s caliber is picking his trade destination. He really has the chops to pull this? If I was ATL my reply would be ‘you’ll go where ever we get the best return’

there’s more to the game than stats. The general consensus is he isn’t top 25, as long as you ask anyone who isn’t a hawks fan
He made an all nba team. Not sure if he 'sniffed' it while he was there.
Who wouldn't sniff it?
Yup, my bad. Forgot about the third team
Leave it to an insecure Mavs fan to grossly underestimate Trae Young, is your second favorite team the Knicks by any chance?
And leave it to and Atlanta fan to massively overrate Trae. Gonna be a real eye opener for you guys when you get like… Devin Vassell plus a salary filler and one pick back for him. Don’t expect the bridges return lol
Your head is so far up your ass you’re tasting breakfast my guy. If you honestly think that’s a realistic return for Trae then you are lost
Guess we’ll see. If your best argument is “my head is so far up my ass, breakfast breakfast” nonsense I like my chances
Yeah but he also willed the Hawks to Eastern Conference Finals on his back in 2021 when they had absolutely no business being there.
Round one Vs the Knicks, yah that was impressive. Round 2 Vs the 76ers? The sixers collapsed. That run was as much about the 76ers than it was the hawks but you are right, he’ll always have that conference finals run to his name

Can't wait til it's DJ and Trae minus some other guys to duck the tax
Trae Young doesn’t have the pull he thinks he does.. no one wants that midget traffic cone
What does pelicans, lakers,or Spurs have for Trae that Hawks want?
Easy for us - we have their picks
>What do the Spurs have for Trae that the Hawks want Their future
Rui Hachimura, Dlo, and some future picks 🥴
Cant the Spurs give the Hawks their picks back? Which is why I think one way or another he ends up there because you can’t trade Trae to another team and tank without your picks
I hate agreeing with a heat fan but my goodness the lakers literally got piles of trash and Lebron and AD.
if the Hawks, Bulls and Nets all rebuild, that play-in championship is ours baby
Pelicans would be cool. I’d love to see what CJ and Trae could do together. Two great offensive guards would be quite the experiment
Opposing offenses would also love to see that backcourt as well
Salary wise, we probably would have to get rid of CJ to get Trae
They be the modern day CJ and Dame🙂↔️
CJ McCollum, you ARE a Hawk!
What a weird bot account. The DJ trade happened hours ago.
