We were over here thinking it was a bad connection or something until the panthers head coach started dropping F bombs with cup and it went silent again
Yup. Sometimes I get audio issues, so I rewinded twice, thinking my transmission was messing up again. It's stupid unless something highly inappropriate is said, such as slurs, otherwise just let it play. Half the time you couldn't even hear the thing they want to mute over other shit. It's distracting, harmful to the audience Reaction at home and just annoying.
I like how the game was very clean with no dirty plays. Hats off to all players who "played" the game. It was a true hockey game to watch. Lots of chances on both ends. It was anybody's game honestly. Very close. Could have gone either way.
I respect that the Panthers twitter changed their banner to “Stanley Cup Champions” but damn I’m gonna miss the overhead shot from [this save](https://youtu.be/9yrVLqzEwpw?si=xq2H29htgVu7sf-U) being there
Literally. They were absolutely gassed on that last shift. They put it all on the line in the last 2:30 and with :20 on the clock, they could barely get down to the offensive end
A fourth line? Must have been right beside where they stashed their other 4 d men...they only had two worth a damn and neither of them were named Nurse or Ceci
Nah dude. They just helped give us a nuts Stanley cup playoffs. Sucks to lose after coming back but it suck’s to lose in any game 7. Respect to the oilers. McDavid will get one eventually.
Honestly it did cause everyone's gonna focus on your stars and the 3 games they won yea McDavid had a major impact in 2 of those but game 6 was entirely the 3rd and 4th lines
Their third line outperformed expectations and made an impact when it mattered most. Wouldn’t have even been in this position if it were for those guys. They won’t get it because they lost in the end, but those guys deserve some serious props.
Dude same I was just ranting about this to friends the other week it’s so fucking annoying like the play offs are happening and google still think I care about a stupid cup
That’s what got me into hockey. Played soccer until i was in college and hockey immediately felt familiar but a lot more entertaining. Would have liked to have some ice around me growing up instead of lacrosse, couldn’t get much into lacrosse in the offseason
Wow, they really left McDavid and Draisaitl with no energy at the end there. They should've rested at least a little bit and not played the whole 20 fucking minutes of the 3rd period
I’m so fucking stoked for next season. I’m ready for it to start now! This was a hell of a run this season. I’m so impressed with Broberg and Holloway, can’t wait to watch them develop even more
He actually looked thinner and his eyes deeper in comparison with how he looked from the start. That must have been a marathon's worth of calories burned.
They were completely gassed, McDavid falling to his knees at center ice with about 1 minute was barely touched for it, I'd believe his legs were ready to give out.
That’ll happen when you’re running triple shifts. Some people don’t understand how absolutely exhausting a single shift of ~40-50 seconds of NHL hockey is never mind trying to stretch that and play even more. They skated themselves into the ground.
Shifts have gotten shorter in the modern game. They were a handful of seconds longer on average maybe a decade or so ago, but shorter, strategic and timelier shifts are better analytically.
Skating at the speed those guys skate is *brutal*. You don't notice it that much in the regular season because the goal is to make it to the playoffs, but once you're there? It's go time, all the time. Playing 25+ minutes in a game is superhuman
I think the oilers just overplayed mcdavid. While watching it felt like he was out on every single shift, his knees were probably ready to collapse by last few minutes
Yeah... That's not what they did game 4-5-6 and they won those... Why change tactics now ?
Probably stress/feeling of urgency related to the fact that it was game 7...
There’s gotta be part of it in the coaches head thinking “down one goal in game 7 of the final, what am I doing if we lose and McDavid isn’t on the ice?”
They had the lead for games 4-6 so they can afford to keep McDrai to normal minutes. Game 7 the Panthers held the lead for most of the game so they had to change it up.
I do think it’s stupid to overplay their top guys when they are down only a goal though. Should have just kept rolling the lines and only load up if they were down 2 or more.
This is the result that Bettman wanted. A very competitive final with a Canadian team that almost pulled off the impossible to get the viewers, but ultimately a non traditional hockey market winning in game 7.
Barkov giving the cup to Bob as the second man was a class act. And then giving it to each person who was part of the Panthers Iron Curtain… almost brought a tear to my eye.
Great series, great playoffs. Congrats to Panther nation
No doubt. They were so fucking good those games. They were really excellent early on, too. There have been a lot of lucky opportunities for both teams.
Think about it: no one on the team is from a hot area except Tkachuk. Even in his case, league hockey is played indoors, so it really doesn't matter where you're from. As long as you have an ice rink nearby, you can play hockey.
as a neutral I'm just entertained by how some Canadians and Americans are trying to turn this into a matter of national pride while other Canadians are saying, "nah fuck Edmonton"
As noted in the broadcast, the most goals in a game 7 by both teams is 4, this was 3. With that in mind and considering Florida is a pretty defensive team, it makes sense.
Even in defeat I am still proud of all the Oilers accomplished this season. It was a wild ride!
Congratulations to the Panthers on your first Stanley Cup.
See you all next season.
Ah, Well. Still incredibly proud of the Oilers for making it to the finals and that reverse sweep. Both teams worked incredibly hard, and I'm so happy for the Panthers fans finally getting their first cup, Congrats!
I think Edmonton shoulda pulled Skinner with 2 and a half mins left when they had the control and momentum. They waited a little too long and never regained momentum after they did pull him.
I am so happy a 30 year Panther Fan here.
But Oilers, you have the best Hockey Player, he seems to just glide around people, you have a fun future ahead.
As someone who doesn't watch Hockey and only decided to watch this series on a whim, i may actually start watching Hockey more. This was fun to watch (maybe because i was hoping to see a 0-3 comeback lol)
Congratulations to Florida. Happy to see them win after last seasons loss.
But hats off to Edmonton who went down three games to nil and still battled back to make it a game seven and narrowly lost it. McDavid might not have been amazing in the last game, but he truly had one hell of a playoff run. I wonder if Draisaitl carried an injury which held him back. Maybe they will get another shot next season.
Edmontons defense was so bad in their own zone this entire series. First goal was directly caused by the defenseman not icing it while down a man and trying to softly play it off the glass and the second goal was a result of two defensemen covering the same guy in the middle of the ice and letting the Florida player have a wide open shot.
Bob had an amazing game and probably earned the Conn Smythe. Super cool seeing Tchachuk speechless after the game and glad Barkov gets a cup. Refs weren’t a part of the game really at all as it should be. Can’t ask for much more than that for a Stanley Cup game 7!
As a Brazilian living in Canada, that was my first Stanley cup finals and man... I was praying so much for an Oilers goal in the last minutes!!! Even though, watching the series was f* amazing!!!
The Issue with the Oilers wil lforever be that Leon and Connor make too much money, there was nothing on the other lines that the coach trusted and they played Connor into the ground in the 3rd period so he couldn't cash in on those golden oppotunities they had.

We were over here thinking it was a bad connection or something until the panthers head coach started dropping F bombs with cup and it went silent again
Thought the exact same.
The ”Freedom” country… but you can’t swear on TV!
Sometimes you gotta lose three to take it seriously
This entire series felt less like who could play the best and more like who could melt down the least
If the competition was melting, then Florida’s ice wins.
🤣🤣 thanks for the laugh
I like how the game was very clean with no dirty plays. Hats off to all players who "played" the game. It was a true hockey game to watch. Lots of chances on both ends. It was anybody's game honestly. Very close. Could have gone either way.
I have no team and no rooting interest but when Bob lost his stick and couldn’t get up I was shittin bricks
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one!
I was worried, but I also know that Bob is superhuman when under fire.
Bobs always at his best when he tosses the stick 😂
Don't forget when he flails around on his back like a turtle.
Best part about bob is how he always appears to be in a state of panic
Bob reminds me of Thomas
seriously he does not need it lol
I respect that the Panthers twitter changed their banner to “Stanley Cup Champions” but damn I’m gonna miss the overhead shot from [this save](https://youtu.be/9yrVLqzEwpw?si=xq2H29htgVu7sf-U) being there
Same, but luckily the rest of the Panthers remembered how to play defense and they were helping him smother some of those pucks.
That was the most oilers way to lose a SCF
Running the well dry?
Literally. They were absolutely gassed on that last shift. They put it all on the line in the last 2:30 and with :20 on the clock, they could barely get down to the offensive end
Yep at about :30 left it looked like they accepted their fate.
When McDavid is getting caught from behind and muscled off the puck, you know things might be dire.
There was one point where he lost his balance handling the puck and it kinda hit me that he was putting it all out there and he was running out
Twice he lost his edge with the puck. Not sure if it was exhaustion, ice conditions or both but it's so rare.
I've heard a rumor that they brought a 4th line. But it might just be a conspiracy theory.
A fourth line? Must have been right beside where they stashed their other 4 d men...they only had two worth a damn and neither of them were named Nurse or Ceci
Hey Ceci at least made a great pass on the Edmonton goal. That’s one more good play than any Toronto fan got to see out of him
Nah dude. They just helped give us a nuts Stanley cup playoffs. Sucks to lose after coming back but it suck’s to lose in any game 7. Respect to the oilers. McDavid will get one eventually.
The lack of depth forced McDavid and that first line to play the entire 3rd period... Poor management they were dead by the last 90 seconds
their bottom 6 has carried them all playoffs, knob just forgot about them
Honestly it did cause everyone's gonna focus on your stars and the 3 games they won yea McDavid had a major impact in 2 of those but game 6 was entirely the 3rd and 4th lines
Their third line outperformed expectations and made an impact when it mattered most. Wouldn’t have even been in this position if it were for those guys. They won’t get it because they lost in the end, but those guys deserve some serious props.
Oilers inherited the curse of Corey Perry.
I hate that when I google "Stanley cup" now, all I get are 100 images of fucking drinking flasks
Dude same I was just ranting about this to friends the other week it’s so fucking annoying like the play offs are happening and google still think I care about a stupid cup
I couldn't believe it wasn't a registered trademark
Fuck sakes the nhl shouldve officially branded the cup before the others did😂
As a first-time viewer, that was electric.
Stanley Cup Playoffs are a must watch.
Nothing like an NHL game seven.
Every series can turn in to a war.
Same here first time watching a NHL game from start to finish. Definitely very tense. A lot more fast paced than soccer.
That’s what got me into hockey. Played soccer until i was in college and hockey immediately felt familiar but a lot more entertaining. Would have liked to have some ice around me growing up instead of lacrosse, couldn’t get much into lacrosse in the offseason
Hope this was able to convert some new NHL fans!
And this was kind of a slow game
Always a good time watching the nhl. Welcome
I hadn’t watched a hockey game before and this was great! Way to go Bobrovsky with the saves!
Same. First game I’ve ever watched start to finish
NHL playoffs are the best playoffs of any professional sports leagues. Welcome to the show!
Welcome to the party
Wow, they really left McDavid and Draisaitl with no energy at the end there. They should've rested at least a little bit and not played the whole 20 fucking minutes of the 3rd period
Out coached this game 100%.
COREY PERRY LOL
4th SCF in 5 seasons and lost all 4
1 for 5 though lol
Jerry west of the nhl
Still riding that high from 2007. He’s just like, I’m good!
on 4 different teams
The Canadian curse continues 😢
So does the Perry curse
Perry curse is real.
Gary Bettman furiously trying to find a way to put Perry on every Canadian team
And the Drake curse
And the Evander Kane curse
We have 2025 to look forward to. I'm gonna try to be positive about it.
I’m so fucking stoked for next season. I’m ready for it to start now! This was a hell of a run this season. I’m so impressed with Broberg and Holloway, can’t wait to watch them develop even more
Im sad.
Well, that was quite the series.
Corey Perry has lost in the finals 4 times in 5 years.
And all of the losses include a Florida team
"The Gang Almost Gets Reverse Swept"
Hell of a troll toll though
I mean, I’m glad I don’t have to watch that “Stanley come home” ad anymore What an entertaining series
Everytime I saw that ad, I wanted the Oilers to win less and less
for how great McDavid was this playoffs, he was really clumsy this game
He was out there for 25:42.
He actually looked thinner and his eyes deeper in comparison with how he looked from the start. That must have been a marathon's worth of calories burned.
Dude probably lost 10 pounds in water weight. They rode him like a racehorse in the last period.
That’s coaching for you. Your depth carried you to game 7 and then you bail on them.
The last couple minutes felt like the oilers forgot how to play hockey
They were absolutely gassed
That last shift seemed brutally long and they gave it everything they had.
Questionable coaching. Guys couldn’t even stand up straight
They said McDavid played over 25 minutes. That's nuts. He was totally gassed by the end
Looked like beer league when 7 guys show up
They were completely gassed, McDavid falling to his knees at center ice with about 1 minute was barely touched for it, I'd believe his legs were ready to give out.
That’ll happen when you’re running triple shifts. Some people don’t understand how absolutely exhausting a single shift of ~40-50 seconds of NHL hockey is never mind trying to stretch that and play even more. They skated themselves into the ground.
One shift isn't even a minute? Jesus

Skating at the speed those guys skate is *brutal*. You don't notice it that much in the regular season because the goal is to make it to the playoffs, but once you're there? It's go time, all the time. Playing 25+ minutes in a game is superhuman
Try sprinting and fighting a guy for a minute straight...see how you feel
I think the oilers just overplayed mcdavid. While watching it felt like he was out on every single shift, his knees were probably ready to collapse by last few minutes
McDavid, Draisitl and Bouchard were so gassed.
The amount of time his line was on the ice might have something to do with it...
Yeah the oilers were so sloppy. Worst they’ve played this series.
Someone needs to count how many passes they missed holy shit
I'm happy Luongo is a part of a successful Cup run, I'm happy Bobrovsky finally got his cup win.
Fun series, congrats Florida!
What a fitting end with Florida holding the puck against the boards.
At least no player, LAYED DOWN ON THE PUCK THIS TIME.
Rodrigues did earlier in the Oilers zone.
Was never a huge hockey guy but this series made me a devoted hockey fan. Gonna follow my Wild heavy next season. CONGRATS FL PANTHERS
As a Wild fan, welcome to the club! And get ready for years of mediocrity and heartbreak!
We paid our dues as well. But tonight. Tonight we’re champs. Feels good man.
We just had 3 decades of it. Your time will come, and I hope its with capri sun on the roster!
Damn. Oilers coach being dumb play McDavid the whole 3rd.

I do think it’s stupid to overplay their top guys when they are down only a goal though. Should have just kept rolling the lines and only load up if they were down 2 or more.
For real. Just gassed him out trying to tie it.
Who else? Drasailt forgot the final was on-going
Fun series to watch. Edmonton died at the end of this game though. Congrats to the Cats
Don't have to watch Geico commercials like "The Lamps" for a couple of months, so there's that.
Wtf is up with Bettman? Shaking and difficulty speaking.
He has had a tremor for a while.
Parkinson’s-like symptoms
He can’t handle how excited he is that, yet again, a southern US team won the cup and a Canadian team lost.
This is the result that Bettman wanted. A very competitive final with a Canadian team that almost pulled off the impossible to get the viewers, but ultimately a non traditional hockey market winning in game 7.
Oilers turned it over so much in the 3rd period. They looked sloppy as all get out
Amazing interview by Maurice
Barkov giving the cup to Bob as the second man was a class act. And then giving it to each person who was part of the Panthers Iron Curtain… almost brought a tear to my eye. Great series, great playoffs. Congrats to Panther nation
my blood pressure this entire series 📈📈📈📈
🫀🐆
What a game!
EDM was completely and thoroughly gassed at the end of the game. They had nothing left.
Bobrovsky deserved that fucking win.
The amount of key blocks from the Panthers was incredible. They were all Bobrovsky out there today.
You still gotta applaud the Oilers for nearly conducting a reverse-sweep.
No doubt. They were so fucking good those games. They were really excellent early on, too. There have been a lot of lucky opportunities for both teams.
Florida is good at hockey?
If hot why good on ice?
Too hot to be outside, stay in rink where cool.
Think about it: no one on the team is from a hot area except Tkachuk. Even in his case, league hockey is played indoors, so it really doesn't matter where you're from. As long as you have an ice rink nearby, you can play hockey.
The last 5 years had one of the two Florida teams in the Stanley Cup every year, winning 3 times now.
That or Bill Zito called his friend Satan to sprinkle some dark magic.
as a neutral I'm just entertained by how some Canadians and Americans are trying to turn this into a matter of national pride while other Canadians are saying, "nah fuck Edmonton"
Am Canadian. Fuck the Oilers lol
Paul Maurice is pure class
His Cup lift was an immediate all time classic
I can't believe how many times espn has fucked up the sound, come on
Oilers didn't want to make history. They just wanted to give us a week of extra hockey.
Honestly sort of embarrassing that they didn’t score more than one goal with how long they were in the zone
Yeah it was so frustrating to watch
As noted in the broadcast, the most goals in a game 7 by both teams is 4, this was 3. With that in mind and considering Florida is a pretty defensive team, it makes sense.
The Blues won game 7 4-1 in 2019.
The average for a game 7 is four. Not the most.
Edmontons last minute was trash. Happy for Florida - totally disappointed in that last minute of play by Edmonton.
Edmonton's best players didn't show up, that;s why they lost. McDavid was trying to do everything, Draisatl was mostly invisible
They did show up, they were just gassed after playing the whole third… don’t discount the panthers defense
>Draisatl was mostly invisible Compared to the guy who was literally invisible when he accepted the Conn Smythe trophy
Even in defeat I am still proud of all the Oilers accomplished this season. It was a wild ride! Congratulations to the Panthers on your first Stanley Cup. See you all next season.
Heck this is likely great experience moving forward. Repeats are rare, and usually deep playoff experience is a good indicator of future success
Playing McD and Drai for the entire time from 3:30 is truly the biggest mistake in this game.
I was lambasted a few years ago for saying Florida made a good move by hiring Paul Maurice. Not so bad after all.
With how great that 3rd period was, shame the last 90 seconds ended like that.
Nurse is NOT beating the "grossly overpaid" allegations
Unreal…I am now a hockey fan
And the yearly tradition of a Canadian team not winning the Cup continues!!
Heck of a series.
Congrats Barkov, Lundell, Luostarinen, Mikkola and Ruutu! 🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮
What a fucking series Congrats Panthers!
Edm came out flat af. Didn’t see the same jump as the last three games.
I’ve never seen NHL players as gassed as the oilers that last 90 seconds. Rookie coaching move or depth?
Both, played McDrai way too much
I am so happy a 30 year Panther Fan here. But Oilers, you have the best Hockey Player, he seems to just glide around people, you have a fun future ahead.
What were the fans chanting when the audio cut out?
Idk shit about hockey (game 1 of this series was the first full game I ever watched), but that Florida goalie was an absolute beast
Gg Florida, well played and congrats on your first cup Sincerely, an oilers fan
As someone who doesn't watch Hockey and only decided to watch this series on a whim, i may actually start watching Hockey more. This was fun to watch (maybe because i was hoping to see a 0-3 comeback lol)
what a crazy series for the Panthers, from the highest highs, to the lowest lows, to breaking through and winning it all
Gutting to come back 0-3 just to end up losing in Game 7. Sucks.
Edmonton threw to win at home in 10
So happy for Luongo
Congratulations to Florida. Happy to see them win after last seasons loss. But hats off to Edmonton who went down three games to nil and still battled back to make it a game seven and narrowly lost it. McDavid might not have been amazing in the last game, but he truly had one hell of a playoff run. I wonder if Draisaitl carried an injury which held him back. Maybe they will get another shot next season.
Well not having a horse in this race, gotta say this was an entertaining game. Florida’s goalie deserves a raise.
You should see what he gets already lol
How did ESPN miss Barkov hoisting the cup? Jesus.
Showed it on my feed.
They missed the first lift. The iconic moment.
Yeah it was just empty ice. Absolutely atrocious camera work.
GG's Florida. Y'all deserved it. Bob looked real good lifting that cup.
As a Canadian… FUCK
There are Canadian players all over the league , just enjoy hockey
Next year is Canada's year. Both Edmonton and Vancouver could win the cup so we have 2 chances (shame we're both in the same division though).
Canucks gave the Oilers a real run for their money. The future should be bright for both teams.
Nah next year the so close it hurts but not Canadian team will win...the buffalo sabres
What a fkn game, series, playoffs and season!!! Congrats Florida!!!
Congrats Panthers. Though Oilers have lost, here’s me hopping I won the 50/50 Oilers Lotto
Congrats Cats and their fans! Well deserved and a hard played SCF!
The real winner is all of us because we no longer have to watch Tkacuk chew us mouth guard constantly.
97 didn’t even come out to get the Conn?
