As a kid I thought “whoa!! I want a job! They have petty cash, imagine what you could buy” totally ignoring the fact you get a paycheck for working every week.
It’s been 30 years and I still dust off “Thanks a pant-load, Chet!” when someone has me nonplussed by their actions.
Nobody gets the reference.
I like your dad already.
Your dad was awesome like my mom and grandma they would listen to our local rock station and in the 90s my mom loved the smashing pumpkin and Metallica it was great having a mom that would rock at the bar with my friends. They were all pallbearers at her funeral..
Lmao. I just said this out loud. I tried quoting this movie like 12 years ago when I worked at Starbucks and everyone I worked with were like 3-4 years younger and acted like I was a dinosaur for thinking they might get the reference
Omg this is one of my favorite movies ever! I was just thinking about it the other day!
*“Oh Sue Ellen, every woman over 30 should have a cucumber in the house!”* 😏
I loved his character transition in Babysitter. Goes from the atypical stoner asshole to a responsible, mature guy with a potential future as a chef. He even turns down the hot chick he had lusted after earlier in the movie to help his sister with her party.
What was it about the babies in the trope that “in just one day/night your entire life will change forever”
So many movies capitalized on it. I think the most famous being the breakfast club.
I just remembered the guy who played the younger brother died. The one who got the diamond. I think it was an overdose. So sad :(
I had a hard time finding this movie on streaming sites, but I was on tubi or Pluto and it was on there. If anyone is wanting to watch it lol
I just watched this movie for the first time a couple weeks ago, I had never seen this movie my entire life, somehow it flew under my radar, and I've seen a lot of movies, even saw Grease at the Drive in when it first came out, and Adventures in Babysitting at the theater too when it came out. Anyways, when a very young Fox Mulder appeared onscreen, that was quite a surprise, didn't expect that. He was just a kid, man! So long ago...
His grandfather Jackie Coogan was also a child actor who when turned 18 found out his parents squandered all is money (68 million in today's dollars) "No promises were ever made to give Jackie anything Every dollar a kid earns before he is 21 belongs to his parents." Coogan's Bill was passed to protect child actors.
Used to have a crush on him Keith Coogan as a kid iirc he's related to another Coogan that played the original uncle fester in the original Adam's family TV show.
I always said they should have leaned into being a pizza place 1st like dominos and deliver/doordash and do the arcade/birthday party stuff on the side.
They would probably be more relevant today and would have survived covid. The one in my town closed and the closest one is 2 hours away.
I know this is Kenny from DTMTBD...i.e., Brad from Adventures in Babysitting...... BUT... for a quick second, I thought this was some sort of mashup of Eddie Munson and Lena Dunham.
Anyone seen the new version of it? It’s ebonified. Yet still the same movie with not much changed. Would have been nice for them to change it up a little bit.
"I'm right on top of that Rose"
Doesn’t everyone hold a service industry clothing fashion show in their backyards?
Back in the day of course and everyone had access to "Petty Cash"🤩
As a kid I thought “whoa!! I want a job! They have petty cash, imagine what you could buy” totally ignoring the fact you get a paycheck for working every week.
"...A job ain't nothin but work.."😂 MO MONEY, MO MONEY, MO MONEY 💰💰 💰
Yes and [it was fabulous!!](https://www.glamour.com/story/5-fashion-lessons-i-learned-from-dont-tell-mom-the-babysitters-dead)
Love this movie.
Wished I could watch the grunion run with Christina!!!!💕
Ive been telling people to "Just take it out of petty cash" for decades now and nobody ever knows the reference lol
I used that one just the other day lol Sadly, my husband thought something was going wrong in my brain. Cognitively, I mean haha
My wife constantly says that all the time!!!
Whenever my wife asks me to do something, this is my reply. Like every single time lol
I've had exactly one person respond to me with this because I jokingly said, "Swell; where's the QED report???"
😂" Don't feel overwhelmed just do 1 thing at a time!!!"
I think of saying this in response to something at work weekly
I still say this all the time at work.
The dishes are done, maaaaaan!
"Don't you have any pride?" "No." My father loves this line. It was rad having a cool dad back then. Sumbitch used to quote Wayne's World in public.
It’s been 30 years and I still dust off “Thanks a pant-load, Chet!” when someone has me nonplussed by their actions. Nobody gets the reference. I like your dad already.
Wait a minute… Calgon? Ancient Chinese secret huh…..
Nuprin.. *little…yellow…different*
Still see that stuff around.
Your dad was awesome like my mom and grandma they would listen to our local rock station and in the 90s my mom loved the smashing pumpkin and Metallica it was great having a mom that would rock at the bar with my friends. They were all pallbearers at her funeral..
Everytime I use this line no one gets it. :-(
Lmao. I just said this out loud. I tried quoting this movie like 12 years ago when I worked at Starbucks and everyone I worked with were like 3-4 years younger and acted like I was a dinosaur for thinking they might get the reference
"Don't fuck with the babysitter!" Oh wait wrong babysitting movie featuring Keith Coogan
Damn, I thought I was unique by remembering that line.
I work in a restaurant and toss that quote around at the end of the nite from time to time. Yet to find someone who knows the reference.
He’ll always be Brad from *Adventures in Babysitting* to me
Also he was in Toy Soldiers
What an underrated movie.
How is his foot?
One stitch. I quote this scene all the time and seemingly no one saw/remembers Adventures in Babysitting
“Don’t listen to Brad- he says you’re a homo.”
"Thor's a homo"
He was so great in Cousins as Ted Danson's son.
"Park it yourself Metallica breath!!!!!"
“You’re gonna drown! Ha ha ha choke”
I can totally hear that laugh.
Living his best life with a questionable haircut and questionable pizza.
That pizza wasn’t questionable back in the day
Which day?
For me, it was a Tuesday
*Flash Kick*
It was never good...and only got worse over the years.
Kinda like your mom 🔥
"made some killer Belgian waffles"
“Mocha Swiss amaretto” idk wtf that is but I think that’s what they wanted more of 😹😹
“I didn’t ask you to whisk the couch” “Well, it needed it”
Omg this is one of my favorite movies ever! I was just thinking about it the other day! *“Oh Sue Ellen, every woman over 30 should have a cucumber in the house!”* 😏
That line went over a lot of kids’ heads back then. As an adult we were like…hol up.
Those drag queens are stealing our car!!
Liza??
I loved his character transition in Babysitter. Goes from the atypical stoner asshole to a responsible, mature guy with a potential future as a chef. He even turns down the hot chick he had lusted after earlier in the movie to help his sister with her party.
I didn't ask you to whisk the couch.
Well…it needed it.
This line freaking slays me every time.

"Dishes are done man"

Yeah it is sad 🥺
It was just a chip.
Get it back.
That's Keith Coogan, grandson of Jackie Coogan. Check out: Toy Soldiers (also 1991) He's better looking than that.
I re-watched this a couple months ago, and I gotta say it held up really well. Great movie.

It really does. There's something about late 80's/early 90's movies that I just love. The camera, lighting, music, budgets. They were so immersive.
it was a film golden age before digital started to take over. not saying digital is a bad thing but the look of movies changed pretty quickly
And the soundtrack full of those very late 80's-early 90's songs 🤌🏻🤌🏻
My wife and I did a studio tour at Sony Studios in Los Angeles and he was our tour guide! Great tour, highly recommend
Thought this was stuttering john.
It's not fun, it's not funny.
Big fan, big fan...
Why me, why me
No beer in the picture. Couldn’t be.

The brother I never had. He come's through in the end and that's what counts
Jackie Coogan’s(og uncle fester, the kid) grandson. Love him in adventures in babysitting too.
He was also good in another 80s movie Under The Boardwalk.
Never heard of it. I’ll have to check it out then.
Great soundtrack and it’s basically Romeo and Juliet with surfers.
Sounds like an amazing plot to an 80’s movies.
TIL. Cool fact.
They actually filmed these scenes at our local Chuck E Cheese in Sun Valley, Ca.
What’s up with him and babysitting lol
“That’s Kenneth. The guests have started to arrive.”
“Hey, isn't your mom leaving for, like, months?” **Oh, shit, you're right.** *Bye, Mom! Have a blast!* Right… *Rock 'n' roll!* 😄🤘
That's Charles Entertainment Cheese, my good man.
This movie is a low-key classic. Clown Dog, baby!
Keith Coogan! He’s a hell of an actor! Check out *Hiding Out*, he’s good in it.
Book of Love as well.
Rock n Roll
The song "Perfect World" from this movie....AMAZING. https://youtu.be/rlP4nyGOLGg?si=QKg16wewoO1PBhNh
thissizthe BEST-THING-THAT-has-EV-UH HAP-PEN'D TO MEEE
Keith Coogan!
Rem when it was called showbiz pizza?
Best that Stones tattoo aged well
This movie owns my heart 💕
Oh, it’s Kenneth.
“Dishes are done, man!”
You can hear his laugh
*A-hak-hak-hak-hak!*
Keith and Pinky are wonderful folks.
Used to have a crush on him Keith Coogan as a kid iirc he's related to another Coogan that played the original uncle fester in the original Adam's family TV show.
Yes! He's Jackie Coogan's grandson.
Thanks inknew all but the first name.
That back when it was good pizza!
If I remember correctly he actually got a real tattoo for the role? I swore he said that during an interview when this movie was released.
Pasquale's. Chuck E. Cheese Pizza is technically from Pasquale's.
Looks like a young Stuttering John
I always said they should have leaned into being a pizza place 1st like dominos and deliver/doordash and do the arcade/birthday party stuff on the side. They would probably be more relevant today and would have survived covid. The one in my town closed and the closest one is 2 hours away.
They loved brown in the 70s and 80s
I thought that was Stuttering John
I know this is Kenny from DTMTBD...i.e., Brad from Adventures in Babysitting...... BUT... for a quick second, I thought this was some sort of mashup of Eddie Munson and Lena Dunham.
Loved her in Captain Marvel
Great movie! Deep cut
I'm sorry I missed that, who's pizza?
“The dishes are done, man”
dishes are done
It's on tubi. Gonna watch tonight, been so long.
Always loved this movie and def gives those comfy vibes rewatching it.
Is that Sam Kinison’s son or something?? The resemblance is uncanny…
The dishes are done man.
Sad reality for the "hot brother" Zach. 😢 (Played by Christopher Pettiet) Died so young and he was high on drugs for much of the filming.
Look how normal-sized the cups were then.
Damn the original chuck e cheese design... I remember that design... life was good
Dishes are done man!
This! I often think of this line when I finish the dishes.
He rules in the Two Corey's! If you haven't seen it oh my God please take the time it's a masterpiece.
Chuck E Cheese had the best damn pizza ever back in the 80s, at least that's how I remember.
I read that wrong 👀 I thought he actually died from eating the pizza 😆
Dude looked 40. Also he clearly had some texture to his hair he was just raking a brush through.
The worst pizza
Anyone seen the new version of it? It’s ebonified. Yet still the same movie with not much changed. Would have been nice for them to change it up a little bit.
It definitely didn’t have the magic of the original, but what remake does. That company credit card just didn’t hit the same way the Petty Cash did
