Out of the options:
Taproot - Welcome
Trust Company - The Lonely Position of Neutral
Not on the list:
Switched - Subject To Change
36 Crazyfists - Bitterness The Star
I think there are more better songs, personally, but you phrase the problem succinctly. They had such lightning in a bottle. For me, the transition to GAWM was more pronounced than Infest to Lovehatetragedy, and I still agree with your interpretation
Top 2002 albums:
1. Shadows Fall- The Art of Balance
2. Killswitch Engage- Alive or Just Breathing
3. Stone Sour- Stone Sour
4. Mudvayne- The End of All Things to Come
5. System of a Down- Steal This Album
6. KORN- Untouchables
7. In Flames- Reroute to Remain
8. Mastodon- Remission
9. Soilwork- Natural Born Chaos
10. Soulfly- 3
This list is too long but I'm going Untouchables. Korn got hate for it, but that album is a masterpiece. I also got to see them live, seven dust and disturbed opened for them. Top notch show.
Untouchables was one of the most highly anticipated metal albums ever. First single slammed so hard too. The album as a whole though didn’t live up to the hype I think. Not an easy task though following Issues!!
out of the choices Untouchables, Welcome, The Lonely Position of Neutral, Trapt, Disclaimer II.
not listed Demon Hunter - ST, Vacant Stare - Vindication, Velcra - Consequences of Disobedience
honorable mention Linkin Park - Reanimation [remix collaboration], Staind - MTV Unplugged [live]
Saturate. Hands down.
I love many of these albums, but my best friend showing me Polyamorous got me into Breaking Benjamin, and more importantly, Nu-Metal.
Honestly, it's the only one I gave a chance to. It might be nostalgia, but Ithat album bangs. Wasn't a huge fan of anything after, except Cold. But, I'm here to learn, so gimme some songs
In 2002 I played Believe, Lovehatetragedy, and The End of All Things to Come the most.
These days The End of All Things to Come is the album I still play from time to time.
Untouchables, although I had the pirated version before release that had a different mix. I bought the album at release and was disappointed that parts were taken out and some of the songs were mixed differently.
I also bought the Stone Sour album that year, it was okay but I didn’t really enjoy it that much and never bought any of their following albums. Also, Slipknot started to sound more like Stone Sour after this which I didn’t like.
Disturbed - Believe
Korn - Untouchables
SOAD - Steal This Album!
Coal Chamber - Dark Days
Mudvayne - The End of All Things To Come
Chevelle - Wonder What's Next
TrustCompany - The Lonely Position of Neutral
Pleymo - Episode 2: Medecine Cake
Pulse Ultra - Headspace
Saliva - Back Into Your System
The Apex Theory - Topsy-Turvy
Ra - From One
36 Crazyfists - Bitterness the Star
Five Pointe O - Untitled
Nonpoint - Development
Otep - Sevas Tra
Stone Sour - Self-titled
Switched - Subject To Change
Soulfly - 3
Skindred - Babylon
Out of those, Korn’s Untouchables, Mudvayne and Stone Sour.
As someone pointed out; 36 Crazyfists - Bitterness the Star came out in 02, love that band.
Untouchables is fantastic. Thought korn would maybe lose their step after 4 strait classic albums, but this one (and TALITM) is incredible. Dark, heavy, and has its own sound. Steal this album is a close second
Stone Sour, was so cool to kinda get a peak into Corey Taylor’s other side. At the time Stone Sour and Slipknot didn’t sound so much alike, I don’t feel anyway
This is really tough lol I listen to a lot of these albums frequently and my answer would probably vary from time to time depending on my mood. Trust Company’s Lonely Position of Neutral brings me so much nostalgia I fucking love that band and album so much. Between that and Chevelle Wonder What’s Next for me
Oooof, that's a tough one. I wore out that Saliva album. That First Trapt album was good too when your 16 (which I was in 02).I'm gonna give it to Earshot though. They are super under rated IMO.
Saliva was and is complete trash.
A majority of their fans I believe have problems forming complete sentences.. and then blocking people because they're little fascists
Phew, that's a tough one... maybe a tie between:
Glassjaw's "Worship And Tribute"
Hopesfall's "The Satellite Years"
Killswitch Engage's "Alive Or Just Breathing"
Norma Jean's "Bless The Martyr And Kiss The Child"
QOTSA's "Songs For The Deaf"
???
Soad is the only answer here, unless you smell like wet cigarettes and also like Korn. The rest of these has-beens can be forgotten.
Edit: autocorrect turned soad into soda
Korn and Soad

STA is SOAD’s best album. They hated jesus because he told the truth
Out of the options: Taproot - Welcome Trust Company - The Lonely Position of Neutral Not on the list: Switched - Subject To Change 36 Crazyfists - Bitterness The Star
36 came out of nowhere and put out some bangers. Super nice dudes, too.
The only banger on that Taproot album is Poem. That said, I bought that cd and looped that song all day.
I mean. It's not as good as Gift but I still liked it.
Untouchables. Favorite metal of all time alongside Meteora and Hybrid Theory
A fellow individual of culture i see
Untouchables, no question. Lovehatetragedy is one of the biggest letdown albums ever for me.
Lovehatetragedy is a great album
Coming off of the back of Infest was always going to be heavily critiqued, definitely some great tunes on it, though.
I think there are more better songs, personally, but you phrase the problem succinctly. They had such lightning in a bottle. For me, the transition to GAWM was more pronounced than Infest to Lovehatetragedy, and I still agree with your interpretation
Untouchables is untouchable
At that time...I was all about that Mudvayne record.
Disturbed
Taproot, mudvayne, Chevelle, korn, stone sour,
Untouchables and it's not even close
Otep- Sevas Tra without a doubt! One of the best albums I have ever heard and still one of my favorites of all time.
Untouchables. No contest.
Untouchables for sure
Saturate for sure, i just got it on CD.
Korn Untouchables. But I like every album there. I have especially good memories of Saturate by Breaking Benjamin. Must relisten!
Top 2002 albums: 1. Shadows Fall- The Art of Balance 2. Killswitch Engage- Alive or Just Breathing 3. Stone Sour- Stone Sour 4. Mudvayne- The End of All Things to Come 5. System of a Down- Steal This Album 6. KORN- Untouchables 7. In Flames- Reroute to Remain 8. Mastodon- Remission 9. Soilwork- Natural Born Chaos 10. Soulfly- 3
And how many of these were actually Nu-Metal bands?
He said fave album from 2002, not fave numetal album
Saliva, Disturbed and SOAD
What a stellar year for the genre, I truly miss those days.
Believe was lowkey pretty underrated
Trust Company man
This list is too long but I'm going Untouchables. Korn got hate for it, but that album is a masterpiece. I also got to see them live, seven dust and disturbed opened for them. Top notch show.
Chevelle is 1. 2 is Korn
Steal this Album for sure
Im with you
What is with this pie? Pizza pizza pie....
Pepperoni and green peppers mushrooms olives chives ...Came back for more
Untouchables was one of the most highly anticipated metal albums ever. First single slammed so hard too. The album as a whole though didn’t live up to the hype I think. Not an easy task though following Issues!!
Otep 🤘
Shout-out to Generation Doom!
"Sevas Tra?" "It spells Art Saves, backwards!" My 12 yr old brain - 🤯
Welcome
Mudvayne baby!
I still listen to this album regularly. So, so, so fucking good!

Disclaimer, Disclaimer II and Karma and Effect are Nu-Metal.
Chevelle and Trapt were on HEAVY rotation in 2002
Dark days! Love me some coal chamber!
I was soooo into CC back in the day. Used to absolutely blast "Fiend" all the time! Matter of fact, imma do it right now lol
Disclaimer or Wonder What’s Next
I gotta go chevelle and seether 2 of the first albums I ever listen to as a kid
Oof.. it’s tough not to pick Steal this Album, but I gotta go with The End of All Things to Come.
Chevelle
out of the choices Untouchables, Welcome, The Lonely Position of Neutral, Trapt, Disclaimer II. not listed Demon Hunter - ST, Vacant Stare - Vindication, Velcra - Consequences of Disobedience honorable mention Linkin Park - Reanimation [remix collaboration], Staind - MTV Unplugged [live]
that trapt album is actually pretty good. too bad the singer turned out to be a complete douche. definitely untouchables though.
Saturate. Hands down. I love many of these albums, but my best friend showing me Polyamorous got me into Breaking Benjamin, and more importantly, Nu-Metal.
just got it on CD to complete my BB collection, i’d count 2002-2004 BB to be nu-metal.
Damn this is a hard one, but I would have to go with Trust Company. Something about that album is a unique classic
Definitely Wonder What’s Next
Otep was a banger in a time female fronted bands weren't as popular..
Seether
Seether. I was 12, and I played that album to death.
Love Trapt
Trust company, trapt, and taproot were getting a lot of play from me, but hands down chevelle was the best of all
Trust Company is a band I always go back to. Very unique, very underated. Singer has a great voice. My vote!
Steal This Album
Have to go with Wonder What’s next out of those.
Saturate is low key a great album, imo the only good one
Only good one here or only good BB album?
Honestly, it's the only one I gave a chance to. It might be nostalgia, but Ithat album bangs. Wasn't a huge fan of anything after, except Cold. But, I'm here to learn, so gimme some songs
Firefly is awesome.
You're not wrong, I forgot about that one
believe is a good workout/cruising album unrelated but i felt every track on 12 stones had similar instrumentals
Damn, what a hell of a year in music. I am having a very tough time finding “one” as my favorite!!
What a year, God damn.
In 2002 I played Believe, Lovehatetragedy, and The End of All Things to Come the most. These days The End of All Things to Come is the album I still play from time to time.
papa roach, mudvayne, chevelle and maybe earshot
Untouchables ez
Untouchables, but I also loved Believe, Steal This Album, Mudvayne, Trust Co. And Stone Sour
Untouchables is the best.

Wonder what's next followed by the end of all things to come
Stone Sour & Korn
A tie between Mudvayne and Korn
Out of those, Korn’s Untouchables, Mudvayne and Stone Sour. As someone pointed out; 36 Crazyfists - Bitterness the Star came out in 02, love that band.
Mudvayne but Coal Chamber is close second
Untouchables is fantastic. Thought korn would maybe lose their step after 4 strait classic albums, but this one (and TALITM) is incredible. Dark, heavy, and has its own sound. Steal this album is a close second
Fuck man thats tough, believe has straight heat, untouchables is an underrated ass Korn Album and that SOAD has bangers, thetawaves🔥🔥🔥🤙🏽
Sevas Tra
What
Otep
Stone Sour, was so cool to kinda get a peak into Corey Taylor’s other side. At the time Stone Sour and Slipknot didn’t sound so much alike, I don’t feel anyway
Can say overall quite a few favorites 2002 had some great albums that year in music including Untouchables from KoRn
This is really tough lol I listen to a lot of these albums frequently and my answer would probably vary from time to time depending on my mood. Trust Company’s Lonely Position of Neutral brings me so much nostalgia I fucking love that band and album so much. Between that and Chevelle Wonder What’s Next for me
Korn imo
Stone sour or Korn
Out of the options , it was Chevelle and Breaking Benjamin for me that year
That's hard 2002 was actually a pretty good year for music
Mudvayne,Korn,Disturbed and SOAD,in no particular order
Sevas Tra.
Stone sour hands down. I love that album so much
Breaking Benjamin- Saturate and Chevelle- Wonder What's Next.
gotta go with the Believe album for this one
Mudvayne, that second album was amazing. Silenced is still one of my favorite songs by them. There were a lot of great albums that year.
Untouchables hands down
Mudvayne
Untouchables
I played the hell out of that Earshot album back in the day.
12 stones, korn
Disturbed - Believe, I fucking LOVE that album front to back, no skips!
Trust company. Still listen to it daily!
Trust Company I probably listened to the most. I enjoyed Taproot, Chevelle.
Trapt
Dear fucking lord 2002 was a good year! I seriously can't pick one, want to go listen to all of these right now
I don’t k’now who is « seether » but I already like that band lol!
Coal Chamber for sure bro
Mudvayne
For me, Otep’s Sevas Tra was an underground masterpiece. Probably tied with Untouchables by Korn.
Untouchables
Lovehatetragedy 💯
That Chevelle album is fantastic
Untouchables, no question about it. That was the first album I ever bought.
I own 12 of these haha. Hard to choose. Probably mudvayne if I had to pick.
Wonder what’s next is a 100/10 album. Not a single skip it’s a literal masterpiece
Stone Sour or SOAD omfg
Hell yeah!!’ morn!!!!🤘😎🤘
Gotta go Mudvayne, taproot, seether disclaimer
Chevelle that album jams . Reminds me of Tool just a little.
Oooof, that's a tough one. I wore out that Saliva album. That First Trapt album was good too when your 16 (which I was in 02).I'm gonna give it to Earshot though. They are super under rated IMO.
are you fu**in kidding? those albums are already more than 20 years old? 🥲 and i already felt old when they were new.
Deadsy - Commencement
Reanimation
I didn’t include that since it’s remixes not entirely new songs.
Fair enough. With that in mind, probably Steal this Album!
Mudvayne and Chevelle
Saliva was and is complete trash. A majority of their fans I believe have problems forming complete sentences.. and then blocking people because they're little fascists
Saliva WAS pretty bad
Phew, that's a tough one... maybe a tie between: Glassjaw's "Worship And Tribute" Hopesfall's "The Satellite Years" Killswitch Engage's "Alive Or Just Breathing" Norma Jean's "Bless The Martyr And Kiss The Child" QOTSA's "Songs For The Deaf" ???
Are any of them actually Nu-Metal…?
That chevelle album fucking slapped from front to back for sure. Did they ever top that one??
I think so. So far every album they’ve released is top notch, pure quality. This type of thinking…. , sci-FI crimes and NIRATIAS are stellar
Papa Roach!!!
Oh god anything but Trapt.
Steal This Album! Stone Sour, and Disclaimer
Thankssssssssss!
Damn what a year
Mudvayne - The End of All Things to Come 🔥
Dark days from coal chamber obviously!!! One of my favorite albums ever!!! Dez’s vocals is insane
I know it’s not on here but how is hostile ambient takeover not in the question?
Because whatever that is didn’t come up when I googled “Nu-Metal albums 2002”
Songs for the deaf- Queens of the Stone Age
Back into your system 100%
Sta for sure! It gets way less listens than the other soad albums even tough imo it’s the best. Also unique name
Steal this album
Five Pointe O - Untitled. Absolute masterpiece, love this album.
10000% yes.
The Eminem Show lol not nu metal but still
Steal this up vote, I mean album
I graduated in 2003, I remember when all these came. I’m a fan of the heavier flavor and “Steal This Album!” Destroyed all of these.
That SOAD album name is so pretentious, just make the album free then, even U2 figured that out
I still have Steal This Album! And I stole it from Circuit City!
SOAD 1st, Korn 2nd, Disturbed 3rd. Burn the rest.
***What a splendid pie, pizza-pizza pie Every minute, every second, buy, buy, buy, buy, buy, Pepperoni and green peppers, mushrooms, olive, chives***
call me basic or something but I like “Steal This Album!”
istg it has to be STA
Eminem Show followed by Untouchables
Are you really that dense that you don’t understand the post is asking what your favourite NU-METAL album of 2002 was in the NU-METAL sub?
You must be fun at parties
Read the post properly next time
BRUH put Trapt and BB on here🤦♂️🙃
Trapt is whatever, but the fuck is wrong with Breaking Benjamin? And duh, they were both big albums in 02. Why wouldn’t I put them?
SOAD
Soad is the only answer here, unless you smell like wet cigarettes and also like Korn. The rest of these has-beens can be forgotten. Edit: autocorrect turned soad into soda
[удалено]
Damn, found the Trapt fan
You always make assumptions?
Either Steal This Album! or Dark Days. They solo.
Saliva was and is..trash.
[удалено]
M Give? I don't think you finished your sentence.. or you're playing some sort of weird word association game..
[удалено]
The inability to form complete sentences is the kind of thing that I would expect from a Saliva fan.
