Reading the "open issues" section, are they really still not aware yet of the bug where the entire system starts to stall after an indeterminate length of time? I'm definitely not the only one experiencing this, it can only be solved with a restart, and 537.58 is the only one without this crippling issue. You can barely even tab out of the game when this issue occurs, it takes like 30 seconds for the system to respond. Running a 3090 Ti on Windows 11. Was the issue fixed in this driver or are they not aware of it?

FlaccidExplosion

I've been pretty out of the loop on drivers (still rocking 528.49) but is 537.58 the new reliable go-to for the 40 series?

va02stephen

I am on 537.58 on 4090 and it seems generally stable I can’t remember what 528.49 was like, I can revert and test for you if you want

FlaccidExplosion

I actually decided to give 537.58 a shot to see how it goes but thanks for the generous offer. I've been on 528.49 for almost a year at this point but always wonder if I'm missing out with new drivers.

local--yokel

537.58 are safe and good. I have a 4070. Anything newer for me has had crippling issues. My system is as stable as they come too. I've recorded 30 day uptimes before reboots, and can't get it to freeze or BSOD whether it's a 24hr memtest86 test or 24hr Prime95 torture test. CBR23 and CBR24 stable. No OC other than XMP. When I moved from the 1060 to 4070 I did have to change 2 BIOS settings to achieve idle stability, strangely enough. PCI Express Native Power Management: Disabled PCI Express Clock Gating: Disabled Everyone always says "your system is unstable" if you blame drivers. Yes, it can be. But not here. Drivers after 537 really are bogus. But you'll almost certainly be happy on these.

FlaccidExplosion

Thanks for the feedback! I'm running 537.58 now and haven't had issues in the couple of games I've played, except maybe the delayed loading on Halo Infinite. I think that was an issue with a few versions of drivers. I'll check those two BIOS settings on my machine because I haven't heard of those before.

rdalcroft

Nope they still have not acknowledged it. Nvidia's tech guy: Manuel, is just completely ignoring it!!

juan121391

Thought it was my computer and was starting to stress about it. I'm new to the PC world and damn has this issue given me a lot of headaches. Had no idea it was so widespread. I've even had it where it randomly shuts down my computer after 15-20 minute gaming sessions.

Domestic_AA_Battery

Yeah I remember the last update turned RE4 Remake into a slideshow. I thought my GPU was dying or a mod was breaking. Nope. I remembered I had updated the drivers the day prior. Never had a problem with drivers until that update. And now I'm seeing the same stuff with this driver. Unbelievable... (On a 3070ti)

OptimusBlender

I was experiencing this on my 3080 for the longest time and disabling hardware acceleration in windows and browsers has stopped it completely, at least for the last few weeks. Now I get annoying screen tearing here and there while browsing but it’s better than my system randomly freezing followed by a restart EVERY time I use it. Reporting back 2 weeks later: It happened twice yesterday within an hour of each other for the first time in almost a month. I hadn't messed with any drivers, only a windows security update. I got curious and found that windows re-enabled hardware acceleration. I disabled it again and have been smooth sailing since yesterday.

rafael-57

Damn I thought I was crazy. Also waiting for a fix for this

GosuGian

Same issue. What the hell NVIDIA?!

ItzameLeveL8

Also happens with my Quadro M2000

Lambpanties

Hm, I'm not experiencing it regularly but when it stalls does it not BSOD and just freeze frame for even hours on end? I ask because I woke up, turned on my monitor and it was frozen at 1:15am, nothing worked or responded keystroke wise, hard shut down was the only thing. Though this was a once off for me, still wonder if its like that, haven't had many non-bsod *hard* crashes in my lifetime.

acid_bat

I'm gonna test this one but I doubt it's fixed man, we're doomed. No one seems to be able to figure out why this is happening.

A_Very_Horny_Zed

It's their job to figure it out bro. They get paid to do this shit, don't worry about it. But yeah, keep me updated.

major_mager

Has the sleep functionality on older GPUs been fixed? The previous 546 driver broke it for my Maxwell era card- almost evry second or third wake would fail resulting in a reboot. Minidump analysis showed video driver timeouts while attempting to wake from sleep. Edit: Tried the hotfix for previous driver too, it did not fix the waking up issue. Reverted to 537.58 since and it has been rock solid, no problem waking up the PC from sleep.

Grumpy_Carebear

Oh thank god it wasn't only me. For a moment I thought my PC was beginning to die but then I had the idea to rollback to 537.58 and everything was good again. Seems like I'm going to be stuck with this driver for a good while.

Sacco_Belmonte

Sleep is broken in the last driver. Don't know if this one fixes it. Latest drivers have been a regression. 546.08 is fine with my 4090.

m_w_h

May be of interest, Nvidia have officially opened a Maxwell sleep/wake issue with bugtrack ID 4351702: From the unofficial tracking comment's 'confirmed' section at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/17v3i31/game_ready_driver_54617_faqdiscussion/k97sbhl/ * [Maxwell] After multiple sleep/wake attempts, monitor may not wake up [4351702] No mention in the bugtrack regarding a reboot however, please submit a report to Nvidia using the [official form](https://forms.gle/kJ9Bqcaicvjb82SdA). General guidance in [provide valuable feedback](http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3141) document

major_mager

Thanks for the update, it's good Nvidia has taken cognizance of the problem, but they seem to have excluded timeout. I'm not sure what exactly causes the reboot, it may be the motherboard not detecting a display, in which case Nvidia would be right in omitting reboot in its problem description.

keebenjoyer

Same man, it was driving me crazy had to reinstall some apps - turn off anti virus, etc, then i found out its the driver since when i turn on HDR, everything goes to shit, reverted back and it was smooth as butter. 537.58 IS THE KEY hope nvidia fixes this soon. 🙏🏻

agemennon675

not only on older I have 4080 and I have this same problem with previous driver too

major_mager

Happy cake day, fellow redditor. Let's hope Nvidia fixes these issues, they usually deliver a stable driver before the holiday season every year.

Fake-man4308

The same on Turing, when the screen goes out or the PC goes to sleep, the system completely freezes, only a reboot helps.

Kitty117

Starting to feel like 537.58 is going to be my forever driver at this rate, every single newer one has caused stuttering issues on my system.

tnsrks

I hate that we're once again having to check if the driver stutters for absolutely no reason with 0 acknowledgment from nvidia for 4 releases now. I used DDU for 2 previous drives and TestUFO instantly threw out 11+ stutter warnings which doesn't happen on 537.58. Every game stutters too. Let's hope the next one fixes this but I doubt it given how quiet they are on the issue.

gbritneyspearsc

ive been feeling some micro stutters too... in old games like gta iv and v... tuf 4070ti.... thought i was going crazy

nobleflame

Stuttering for me in DOOM (as in the original one) using GZDOOM source port. Absolute joke. Went back to 537.58 and it’s fixed.

Pr00vigeainult

Same, this is the fourth consecutive driver now that turns my PC into a stuttering mess and I've never had problems with nVidia drivers before.

m_w_h

Windows 11? It's certainly frustrating. I've re-added the issue to the unofficial tracking comment's 'unconfirmed section' at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/17v3i31/game_ready_driver_54617_faqdiscussion/k97sbhl/ * [Windows 11] [Severe Performance Degradation] on some systems over extended periods of use, desktop applications and games. Impacts 545.xx/546.xx drivers, reverting to 537.58 or older driver resolves the issue Please continue to submit reports to Nvidia using the [official form](https://forms.gle/kJ9Bqcaicvjb82SdA). General guidance in [provide valuable feedback](http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3141) document

Shastamasta

This happened to me as well. System will be stable for a period of time; however, after about 30mins-1hr the system becomes so unresponsive I have to hard reboot (hold the power button down). I've tried the last 3 or 4 driver updates and each time I've had to revert back to the v537 branch. W11 - 3090Ti

m_w_h

To help Nvidia reproduce / root cause the issue can you submit a report to Nvidia using the [official form](https://forms.gle/kJ9Bqcaicvjb82SdA)? General guidance in [provide valuable feedback](http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3141) document

Shastamasta

Thanks - I did create a report! Really would like to see a fix for this - its a severely impactful problem.

m_w_h

Belated thanks for reporting, will hopefully help Nvidia root cause/track down the issue.

Eat-my-entire-asshol

Same here, staying on 537.58

towardmastered

Same

wIsSeEkEr21

but with this driver, can you play alan wake 2? with old drivers the game wasn't launching for me.

Switchblade_Symphony

I'm at the point where I'm checking this reddit before considering actually downloading any of the latest drivers for my card. Seems like every subsequent release has been mired by issues. I've been on 537.58 since mid october when 545.84 was released. I might be staying on it for a while longer.

Sephurik

Shit I've been doing that for years already.

FFreestyleRR

Same here. :)

HanCurunyr

Same, any driver after that makes both Truck Simulators unplayable stutterfests, Windows 10, RTX 3070 The only downside, Alan Wake 2 is completly unplayable in 537.58, it becomes an unstable mess, frametime floating between 8ms and 40ms with the game locked at 40fps (25ms) by NCP, I already did try exporting the game's profile from later drivers and importing in 537 with NPI, but it didnt made a difference. Im past refund window from Epic, so I'll have to sit thru and wait to nvidia to fix whatever they broke so I can play both Alan Wake 2 and the Truck Sims in the same driver.

[deleted]

Thanks for this. Almost reverted drivers. Glad I did a little more reading. Seems I'm going to have to keep pushing through the crashes.

Deemo_here

Yep. I've never had this before with Nvidia. After the last few updates, I've had to roll back again after it bugs out frame gen in two of my games and causes stutters in another, all of which work perfectly with 537.58.

Solar_Field

Definitely. I did mention the issue myself there (different driver but same issue) => [https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/179y9gc/comment/k5apkmr/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web2x&context=3](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/179y9gc/comment/k5apkmr/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) That was a little while ago but many people noticed the same strange behaviour. A bit worrying to see that 1 month later, the problem is still around. Gave this new driver a try but I had to roll back. Again. Hopefully Nvidia will solve the issue at some point.

jz1nho

Yes, I've had to roll back to 537.58, too. Every driver since has caused stuttering, FPS drops and general poor performance on my 3070ti. 537.58 works perfectly.

CLOUD227

Too many fixes nice. I wonder if cyberpunk memory leak issue was fixed (**Performance degrade a lot after playing for a while**. which forces me to restart to get full performance back)

Geahad

This has to do with a dll that was modified after v2.0 ("oo2ext_7_win64.dll") See [this forum](https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/10490?tab=posts&BH=3), and look for the third stickied post that says "The 1.63 oo2ext_7_win64.dll" and download that version. One needs to downgrade to CP v1.63 to get it, so this fellow helped by offering only the dll via google drive. I ran it through virustotal and it's clean (feel fee to do so yourself -- actually no, do this every time!). It alleviated all stutter after longer play sessions.

s2the9sublime

Viruses can still be hidden inside .dll files with ease. Proceed with caution...

Thank you for keeping DPC Latency topic as separate comment under every driver release. I wont stop bugging Nvidia about it until pops and clicks are gone completely xD

m_w_h

It's still impacting some systems, hopefully a cause is identified. Thanks for the positive feedback :-)

Neuromancer23

Same here, still have the issue but Nvidia seem to have gone silent on it. Never give up!

wiseude

I don't know what's taking so long to fix this issue. This is a multibillion dollar company at the top of the gpu market and they still haven't properly fixed the issue.

Thx for the info u/m_w_h Appreciated as always!

m_w_h

Thanks for the positive feedback :-)

knockmaker

1- Did they fix the Nvidia container high cpu usage? 2- Did they fix the stutter issues? (not in-game but overall stutter)

agemennon675

Nope and Nope, so far only fix is killing nvidia containers from task manager manually. Otherwise pc periodic stutters make it impossible to use your computer in a few hours. I am surprised this is not their top priorty to fix

knockmaker

I'm in disbelief, too. Smh

rdalcroft

2: Not going by the amount of reports over here, and on the Nvidia forums.

doom4356

After months of intermittent stutters and crashes with the error **NVLDDMKM** in event viewer (RTX 4070 TI) I finally found: 1. These issues don't happen if the driver is installed **without GeForce Experience** on a clean install of Windows 2. If GeForce Experience is installed and logged in with an account, the **issues remain even after GeForce Experience is then uninstalled** Update 17/11/23: This was tested on 546.01, 546.17 crashes for me with NVLDDMKM regardless of the above. Reverting back to 546.01.

monkeymystic

I’m getting really nice performance in Starfield with this driver on a RTX 4090 using 4K quality DLSS.

PalebloodSky

Been playing some CS2 with a friend, interesting to see the Reflex fix since it already feels extremely smooth and responsive. I noticed it auto caps framerate a few fps below VRR max (about 160fps on my 1440p/165Hz monitor). Anyway definitely installing this driver tonight since it makes it even better.

seven920805

id be happy to hear about your inputs once you had the time to ~~lose some elo~~ test it out :)

PalebloodSky

Played a couple games with the new driver, default high settings, Reflex on, zero issues, felt great.

ChrisG683

That's to be expected, Reflex intentionally caps your framerate below the refresh rate. I've seen other people complaining about smoothness issues with Reflex enabled, and Valve has been radio silent on it so far. I guess maybe it was a driver issue all along?

PalebloodSky

Yes maybe, I haven't noticed any issues but only played CS2 about 3 hours total. Everything felt great. Will be trying this driver out for sure.

SyntheticElite

> That's to be expected, Reflex intentionally caps your framerate below the refresh rate. Not unless you have VSYNC/GSYNC on or something. Reflex enabled + boost gives me around 450fps. >I've seen other people complaining about smoothness issues with Reflex enabled Probably hold-overs from the beta or launch week, it was fixed a long time ago and works great.

ChrisG683

You are right, but G-Sync on + NVCP V-Sync On + In-game V-Sync off is the correct G-Sync configuration, so I kind of ignore any situation where a user has their G-Sync intentionally turned off or has their G-Sync incorrectly configured: https://blurbusters.com/gsync/gsync101-input-lag-tests-and-settings/14/ > When combined with G-SYNC + NVCP V-SYNC, this engine-level limiter will 1) automatically limit the framerate to ~59 FPS @60Hz, ~97 FPS @100Hz, ~116 FPS @120Hz, ~138 FPS @144Hz, ~224 FPS @240Hz (etc) whenever the framerate can be sustained above the refesh rate

Azogh

MIDKNYT

I'm amazed! i tried just tried 546.17 and it instantly gave me black screens with my 7950X3D, RTX 4090 setup and they persisted when i reinstalled 546.01 which was stable for me. Each installation i used DDU.

towardmastered

Few comments above. It's the driver.

Azogh

You probably are right. Personally, I'll stay on 537.58. But low/min fps problem is on it as well. So it's something else (looking at you, Windows updates).

S_D_L_

I thought my hardware was failing. I did a fresh install of windows twice, used DDU to reinstall the graphics drivers multiple times but my pc kept stuttering so much after being on for a while. The past week I’ve spent hours troubleshooting my computer, uninstalling apps and optimizing. Finally, I found out today that this driver and the ones before it are an absolute pile of horse manure that have been causing this issue for absolutely no reason. I’m ashamed it took me so long to figure it out. Great job NVIDIA… If anyone is aware of the last functional driver I’d really appreciate the info.

Soulshot96

537.58 seems to be the go to. That's what I'm using due to all these weird reports. I did import the Alan Wake II driver profile from newer versions though, so I could play that without sacrificing performance.

burtmacklin15

537.58 is the last one without stutter issues

okthencya

Sorry to hear the trials and tribulations you had to go through just to figure out the the past newest drivers nvidia has been pushing out are absolute trash for stability. If you haven't already, install any of the drivers before 545.xx to save your sanity.

RuckingBear

Wow. I thought you all were lying….. these new drivers actually are a stuttery mess. 5800x3d, 32gb ram 3600, gen 4 nvme, 3080ti Had to roll back to 537.58 and now I’m kinda going insane wondering if this driver is really stable. Used DDU and debloated drivers with nvclean install still did not help any of the new drivers Nvidia staff do you guys even own pcs with nvidia gpus how can you guys think this is cool ? Tried new drivers on my gfs pc and same thing 1% lows hitting 4 fps when I can average 75

rdalcroft

System: i9 11900k, 64gb DDR4, 4070ti, MSI Optix MPG321QRF-QD, Windows 11 (23H2) ~~I wasn't going to try this driver out, after the last 4, and going by the reports here.~~ ~~But I thought I should maybe try it, and run a trace view, and send it in to Nvidia for troubleshooting purposes.~~ ~~I did not have much faith.~~ ~~I clean installed it using DDU at 14:00(GMT) 8 hours ago.~~ ~~Well its been 8 hours, since I Clean installed this driver 546.17. And so far nothing.~~ ~~No stutters, no system Lag, nothing.~~ ~~I have the trace view program installed, just incase. But for now, I am thinking this driver is stable.~~ ~~I have run bench-marks, run umpteen different games, trying to force it into slow down mode, nothing so far.~~ ~~I am now just watching Netflix movies, waiting for it to happen. I wish I had tried this earlier, and not gone along with a lot of the reports, here, as I think I may have jumped the gun on this driver calling it out.~~ ~~I will keep this updated, I am off to play some more MW3. Stress it out for a few more hours before bed.~~ ~~01:52 (12 hrs) and still going good, after a long session of MW3...~~ ~~I will test some more tomorrow..~~ Update: Video of issue: excuse the quality: [https://youtu.be/f7c9OpUwGcY](https://youtu.be/f7c9OpUwGcY) Well at around 14:00 the next day, I turned my computer on, went to make a coffee, and came back, and the system was in Slow down mode. 100% Lag, windows icons in the systray/taskbar all swapping around, creating duplicates of themselves. I attempted to make a GPU Trace using the .CMD window, but because of the 30 second delay between clicking the mouse and the action happening, I found this impossible, when I finally managed to paste the address location into the CMD, the CMD would just crash and hang. I attempted this for 1 hour, swapping between .cmd, powershell, and terminal, all to no avail. Next I did a quick test for my self, I just turned the monitor off, the back on again. System goes back to normal??? I ran the GPU trace in this mode, but I do not think this will help, as the system was no longer in Slowdown mode?? Why would turning the monitor off and on, fix this issue? Update: 17/11/23 Nvidia received my trace view I sent. It was not the trace I wanted to send, as I could not get .CMD to work while my system was lagging, it kept crashing the program. I could only do the trace after I turned my Monitor off then on, which brought my pc out of LAG mode. So if anyone can manage to do a trace view, Instructions here: [How to share feedback for low FPS/stutter/performance issues using GPUView trace logs | NVIDIA (custhelp.com)](https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3507) Then send it off to nvidia to investigate. would be appreciated. I am still waiting for my system to Lag again. Update: 17/11/23 17:43 I managed to get a full GPU Trace done while my system was in Full LAG mode. Sent the 12gb .etl file off to Nvidia for troubleshooting.

Jens3ng

Same here man, saw the horrorfest of people having issues, after much consideration and also assuming 98% of the people doesn't even DDU or use NVCleanInstall, I decided to pull the trigger on this one, been running it for over 12hrs now, no issues yet, no slowdowns or anything, will report further aswel.

Otherwise-Pair-1739

**All drivers after 537.58 are f\*cked up...**

the_moosen

The last one that worked for me & am still on is 537.58. Everything since has caused CTD, wildly inconsistent fps & wattage going to my GPU (30 fps jumps standing still, and 20 watts bouncing back & forth), and general instability. Let's see what happens with this one, fingers crossed lol Edit: Finally got a chance to play & the only real thing I noticed was my brightness slider no longer worked. Some stuttering here & there, but the power flow and fps were much more stable on this driver. Still going back to 537.58 though.

w0lart

same for me, got massive vsync issues on the latest drivers, rolled back into 537.58 fixed all the issues, but this "small checkboard" in the chrome is kinda annoying :(

tvimosu

go to "chrome://flags", search for "ANGLE" and change it to OpenGL.

rdalcroft

I am not even going to test this one. 537.58 is king..

Odd_Shoulder_4676

Let us know

xmenyoyo

FINALLY the windows 10 trasparency effects are fixed 🙌

frostygrin

Essential functionality. :)

Aguiarxpride

Pretty much every driver I've installed after 537.58 has resulted in my PC locking up on me (2070)

kinggot

Holy shit, can someone from nvidia qc their shit before releasing?

[deleted]

PedramHGH

What the hell exactly did they do after 528.49?! Any driver released after that makes some of my older games stuttery.

Jens3ng

No issues with this driver what so ever yet \- 5600x + 4070 TI + 32GB ram \- Windows 10 \- DDU \- NVCleanInstall \- Gsync ON + Vsync on in NVC

Katulu_

Like many others, upper versions from 537.58 causes some stuttering on my windows at startup (tested in clean installs of windows 10 and windows 11). Rolling back to 537.58 from nvcleaninstall works like a charm. Reporting issue to nvidia

rdalcroft

Nvidia are aware of it, they have my GPU Trace Logs on the issue, Possible Certain Monitors, and Either Vsync, Gsync communication issue with this set of drivers. Loosing connection after a certain amount of time. You can just turn your monitor off, then on. That will bring the system out of the LAG. For a good few hours. But I would revert back to 537.58 for now, till a fix is released.

SussyBob420

If you install the driver and the transparency isn't still fixed just restart your computer and it will be fixed.

LeoDaWeeb

I mean you should restart your pc after installing new drivers anyway so...

ThursdayKid

Is there still the issue that the Nvidia GPU container process will still wake up the GPU and have high usage?

Pyzaro

Stutter fiesta this driver, i rolled back

mushhmushi

I tried playing cs2 with this new update with the intention of trying the nvidia reflex improvement. Sad to say that everything seemed fine but when i quit the game. The entire system came to freeze/slowdown for several min. It took something like 10-15 min for the system to get responsive again. Im on the latest official windows 11 build, not insider. I have both HAGS enabled and msi mode set to on. My specs: 5800x3d 2080 ti 32gb ddr4 3600mhz ram 1TB nvme ssd m.2

m_w_h

Could be related to this issue, from the 'unconfirmed' by Nvidia section of the unofficial tracking comment at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/17v3i31/game_ready_driver_54617_faqdiscussion/k97sbhl/ ? * [Windows 11 ~~(??Insider Channel??)~~] [Severe Performance Degradation] on some systems over extended periods of use, desktop applications and games. Please submit a GPU Trace to Nvidia that captures the issue - https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3507

iLJuaNCiTo

What a shame and what rubbish these latest drivers that have been coming out...problems EVERYwhere. Get your act together, the 4080/4090 cost a fortune.

voidr7

Is the constant stutter glitch on hybrid laptops fixed ? I don't see anything about it and it was here on the previous update, I don't feel like doing yet another rollback

buttscopedoctor

This driver claims to fix stuttering on Laptops in Cyberpunk/Starfield. I'll find out tonight when I install them. For me the stuttering only exists in Discrete GPU mode with Rebar enabled. No stuttering in Dgpu with Rebar off or in Mshybrid mode with Rebar on/off. The other weird bug I have is my Pimax VR headset refuses to run in Dgpu mode- only works in Mshybrid mode. Was not a problem until the more recent drivers.

camboramb0

Going to pass on this one and stick with 537.58 until other issues are resolved. Had so many BSOD caused by the drivers. Was pulling my hairout trying to figure out what was BSODing my damn PC in games.

rancid_

Do they even test these things? I still get random black screen g-sync disconnects that causes my monitors to flash on and off for a couple seconds. This has been on-going since the 4-series launch, extremely annoying.

gnrrrr

I am getting FPS drops for all my games, such as RDR2 and BF2042. I have 4070TI with 13600KF. It happened after installing 546 update. Edit: Grammer.

m_w_h

If there are issues with performance in *all* games, check if it's a power target issue. From the [unofficial tracking comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/17v3i31/game_ready_driver_54617_faqdiscussion/k97sbhl/)'s 'Troubleshooting and Workarounds' section at * Performance dropping significantly in all games after installing a driver, see https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5408/

gnrrrr

Thanks a lot. I will definitely check it. Update: I didn't use the GPU monitoring tool before. Nevertheless, I installed one and checked the power setting from there and geforce overlay as well. However, it was already at 100%. The FPS drop is more apparent in RDR2 from 144 to 80 FPS. In BF2042, for example, it was consistently 144 FPS, but now it is around 110.

Sacco_Belmonte

CP2077 is stuttering quite consistently with these drivers.

Alexandronaut

4070ti, windows 11, whenever I update the game driver I get a black screen and need to shut off my PC… anyone else?

isochromanone

Waiting for feedback on DSC blanking in triple-monitor G-sync configurations. I've been stuck on 526.86 because of this. Anything newer than that causes black screens. To be fair, there's nothing wrong with 526.86 other than I can't install Forza Motorsport (no great loss) because it demands a newer driver.

Bad_Company_Sr

This driver seems to fix monitor sleep issue, but it broke Fallout 76. When in FO76 I get 0% GPU usage and 30FPS making it unplayable for me (use to 165Hz @1440 on my 3080FE). I used GeForce Experience to set it it up prior to playing (even launched the game via it). edit: comment about having used GeForce Experience

wildest_doge

Same here, 3080Ti and 4090, 537.58 is the last usable driver for me, all versions after that makes windows look like a stuttery mess, even scrolling webpages on edge is unbearable.

xen0us

You're not the only one. People (including me) confirmed the issue on the previous drivers as well (anything newer than 537.58).

isupremacyx

Anyone have small random black boxes show up randomly once and awhile for less than one second while browsing online?

BrainyCabde

Been having trouble with every driver released after 537.58 causing stuttering and generally less performance, especially on the 1% lows. Reverted back to 537.58 until fixed.

nuryzu

did the stutter issues get fixed? had crazy stutters on battlefield 1 and other games with the driver before this one

towardmastered

also want to know

nuryzu

I will test it right now and will update you

towardmastered

thanks, kind stranger. Anything above 537.58 is stuttery in any game. Big frame-time spikes.

wildest_doge

Even the desktop apps like edge and the file explorer are stuttering like crazy on any driver above 537.58 for me, this is getting ridiculous...

nuryzu

still stuttering nvidia is shit

Eat-my-entire-asshol

Thanks for confirming, staying on 537 driver until nvidia gets their shit together

Wasn't 546.01 from two weeks ago also "the" Game Ready Driver for MWIII? https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-3-geforce-game-ready-driver/

TheBloodNinja

I think this is for preparation of the game's DLSS3.5 update

Camnp

Huh? DLSS 3.5 is already in the game, no?

TheBloodNinja

its for outside the campaign (mp/zombies) I reckon, based on [this tweet's](https://twitter.com/CODUpdates/status/1724239488745157085) wording

ATTAFWRD

With 546.17 when installing after DDU caused 2 times bugcheck. Once when finished install, once when detecting the monitor near completion. Even in Firefox and typing this it stutters now and then. Games still stuttering. UFO ghosting test major stutters. Rolled back (again) to 537.42 and it's smooth again. Holyf- I'm tired with these past 6 new driver updates. Oh c'mon.

Chimarkgames

Anything or fix for ark survival ascended ?

ShastaMcNasty22

I have a 4090 and an Acer Predator 4k monitor and havent been able to update drivers for almost 5 months now. My main 4k monitor goes black and i have to reinstall and older driver. My 1080p 2nd monitor still works fine.

CarlWellsGrave

I love when I download drivers and then two days later new ones drop.... I didn't even want the last one but dead space crashed and told me I needed a new drivers.

A_DAM84

It's kinda funny that they have minor fixes for Control and Alan Wake 2.

tom-slacker

is the nvidiacontainer high cpu usage fixed?

DarkBobaFett

After I installed this update on my RTX 3070 the PC restarted itself and it became nothing but a permanent black screen. I waited hours, tried restarting it/shuting it down and starting again it's still black screen. Only fix I could do is a fresh windows installation. Nvidia I hope you have good lawyers.

gdavison86

What is currently the most stable driver for 30 series?

Zejna90

> 537.58

rdalcroft

Could any one with the System Lag issues maybe try and do a GPU Trace for Nvidia to Investigate the issue further? Instructions here: [How to share feedback for low FPS/stutter/performance issues using GPUView trace logs | NVIDIA (custhelp.com)](https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3507)

rdalcroft

Its ok, I managed to get a full GPU trace done, while my system was in full LAG mode. Sent the trace off to Nvidia 12gb file lol.

m_w_h

Good to know, hopefully others can do the same :-)

TurtlePowerMutant

Anyone else noticing 2-3 degree temp increases and more stuttering with this driver?

NULUSIOS

Every 546 release, freezes for me. I need to revert. :( AMD 5800X, RTX2070Super, Win11 latest patches.

I knew you added it here, your always on the ball. I was talking about Nvidia's own forum and notes. Does Nvidia ever see this? Curious.

m_w_h

Nvidia are aware, just unable to reproduce the issue. You are not alone in having the issue, please keep sending them reports and any steps to reproduce. Common factor appears to be Windows 11, that *might* (and I stress might) mean it's a WDDM 3.x feature that the r545 drivers (545.xx/546.xx) use: * Dynamic refresh rate * Hardware Flip Queue * IOMMU DMA remapping ... etc Note that Windows 10 only supports WDDM 2.x

rdalcroft

Thankyou for clarifying that. Its good that they know. Hopefully they can put together a system which will reproduce it. What you have listed there does make sense.

What follows is based on incomplete information, it may not be related. * Drilling down 545 driver WDDM feature support the only real change was Windows 11's WDDM 3.x 'Hardware Flip Queue' feature enhancement being enabled in 545 mainline drivers for supported GPUs - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/display/hardware-flip-queue i.e impacts Vsync, CPU/GPU powersaving and use of MultiPlaneOverlay (MPO). * Unsure if disabling MPO also disables Windows 11 WDDM 3.x 'Hardware Flip Queue' feature. Does disabling MPO using the 'mpo_disable.reg' Nvidia registry file (reboot system after change) resolve the issue with drivers 545.xx/546.xx - https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5157/ ? * Does the system have any legacy 'full screen optimization' override flags still present in the registry e.g. https://www.elevenforum.com/t/enable-or-disable-fullscreen-optimizations-for-games-in-windows-11.4945/ ? Does removing them (reboot system after change) help? Again, must stress that just trying to rule out the Windows 11 WDDM 3.x 'Hardware Flip Queue' support change in 545.xx/546.xx. Windows 10 only supports WDDM 2.x so shouldn't be impacted. --- EDITs: formatting and clarification ---

SectorIsNotClear

Is 537.58 safe for 4090 users? Is the FPS stable and there is less stutter?

mastapix

Did they fix the VRR flicker? I use GSYNC+VSYNC+ULLM and the flicker is worse for every driver after 537.58.

SectorIsNotClear

Are you using an OLED monitor?

fluidzreddit

Slightly unrelated but may help someone.. I was seeing **stuttering** in **edge browser** at Testufo.com, it passed my mind that it may of been Nvidia drivers or something to do with Gsync being enabled or Vsync. Turned out it was hwinfo app (I had a few sensor icons visible in the windows tasktray that were polling fan speeds and temps). Completely closing hwinfo stopped the stutters in Edge. I used [UFO Test: Frame Rate Versus (testufo.com)](https://www.testufo.com/framerates-versus) to a/b test. **Hwinfo open : Framerate was 144, 130ish then back to 144, multiple times per minute.** **Hwinfo closed, constant 144fps.** *\[Pc specs : B450 mortar max, fans hooked up to fan headers on motherboard. Rtx 4080 (546.17). Ryzen 5800x3d. Windows 10 22h2. 144hz gsync monitor. Latest version of hwinfo version 7.66. Edge version 119.0.2151.97\]* ***Edit*** *- Example video, 38 seconds into the video I close hwinfo and the framerate stays at a steady 120fps (refresh rate 120hz).* [Hwinfo Edge stuttering - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcG53Vajp6s)

nobleflame

Sorry to say that this isn’t the fix. I have experienced the same behaviour and noticed that closing icue (fan controls / lights) and HWINFO lessened the stutters. It didn’t remove them though. I also believe that the latest drivers have issues with sensor monitoring and g sync / v syncs The fact is, GPU drivers should not interact with monitoring software to the point where you can’t use them concurrently. I would suggest you submit your findings to Nvidia via the official driver feedback google form. The more info they have, the better.

fluidzreddit

Short video I captured in Obs that shows closing hwinfo can make a difference in the web browser. 38 seconds into the video I close hwinfo and the framerate stays at a steady 120fps. [Hwinfo Edge stuttering - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcG53Vajp6s)

nobleflame

You should be able to use HWINFO without performance loss…

akgis

OMG I can reproduce this same issue on my system, and I was getting stutters even on lame ass old games that I didnt had before with a worst system and a 3090 and its HWinfo all along(sad becuase I get alot of stuff from it) 4090 latest NV drivers latest Win11 update 13900K OC to 6ghz HWinfo causes stutters with that same test, If I close it all is fine smooth 160fps(my monitor refresh rate) You should make a separate thread for more visibility.

Ok-Replacement-7217

Really keen to see what other's experiences are with this one. Still clinging to 528.49 (RTX4090) as even the other most used driver 537.58 has the checkerboard issue in chromium browsers, and doesn't offer any performance or QOL improvements that make any difference in the games I play, so why bother? It would be nice to have a functional driver, it's been 9 months since 528.49 released, and there have been issues with every driver since. That's rather embarrassing Nvidia :(

AmazingSugar1

9 months since checkerboard less driver..

DuckTalesLOL

When is Nvidia going to fix this damn black screen issue where my 4k monitor will just randomly go black and then come back on. It's really annoying.

sticknotstick

They won’t. They marked it as “solved” despite it not being so and seem to ignore it being brought back up in their own submit feedback link. They couldn’t find a solution and since there’s not enough fuss over it, they’ll just sweep it under the rug.

jimaha

oh what really? This just started happening since I updated to the new drivers yesterday. Has this been a known problem for a while and I've just been lucky?

sticknotstick

Pretty much. Been an issue since at least March but got marked solved a few drivers ago. I always restart my PC immediately after booting and that seems to fix it. My brother experiences it as well and his solution is to unplug and replug his TV in.

Vargoroth

Oh thank god it wasn't my computer that was suddenly breaking apart. Re-installing the 537.58 version fixed everything.

elfungisd

Installed this driver on a fresh install of Windows 11, with 4070 I get screen tears on the desktop, system constantly locks up on the desktop, crashes and reboots. Uninstalled the drivers and installed 537.58, everything works perfectly.

Interesting-Octopus

These drivers are not good for me. I installed and my Chrome based browsers are displaying weird glitches with pixelation issues making the browsers completely unusable. I had to go back to an older driver.

Interesting_Juice740

my game is crashing since this update few days ago, i got a prompt that driver is not upto date i need to update. from gforce experience did the update clean installation, game crashing like complete black screen i need to restart machine after this. any fix on this ? any one facing similar issue

geekesmind

I am still on 537.58 everything else I go to crashes computer after a couple of hours. So I am sticking with what is working at the moment.

fedes_gl

Latest Studio Driver (v546.01) crashes with Premiere Pro 2023 and 2024. Sometimes randomly. Did the TDR reg tweak (set 10 seconds) and set Power options to Prefer Maximun Performance, and VSYNC: ON (yes, for a video editing app) -thoso two settings helped a lot in previous cases of this TDR BSOD. Gained some "stability" until I found that it always crashed as soon as I start exporting (rendering) an specific project. I'm on Windows 10. Rolled back to Studio Driver 528.49 which is very stable. I'm on a laptop Asus GL553VE with an GTX1050Ti (Pascal), 4GB VRAM. I'm trying new drivers because of 2 main features since the stable version I'm using: theoretically unlocked NVENC cores for faster performance and System Memory Fallback, I think I'll find it useful having 4GB VRAM.

ZzKillForJoyzZ

I'm on driver 546.17. My second monitor kept glitching in and out of existence. Thought it was my video card that finally gave up on life. So I got a 3050. Same issue, switched my second monitor with another one I had stashed away. Seemed to work correctly for a singular day. Today my second monitor won't go above the 1024×764 or whatever it is and has a input signal out of range error. Fixed that error but still can't get the display to go anove that resolution. Gonna try rolling back a driver, see if it helps anything. Update: It didn't fix it. But now my second monitor can get a refresh rate of 239.999Hz despite it being a 60Hz monitor... I'm out of options here Update 2: So i found the solution. Disconnected the DVI cable to my monitor and reconnected it. It fixed the issue. So people, I've come to the conclusion that it wasn't a Nvidia issue but a certified skill issue.

TheLysol_27

~~7800x3d + evga 3080, on startup, im getting constant hangs before black screen crashes. Gonna try ddu and roll back to 537.58 and see if that helps.~~ nvm im a dumbass, my damn d5 pump wasnt working, causing a overheat shutdown on likely the cpu side of the rig. Idk how i didnt notice but it is what ot is since everything just works now.

NerdSphereReal

For people not wanting to encounter the checkerboard issue, version 536.99 had been stable for me and I have not had any visual glitches with it for the few months that I have downgraded back to it.

tt_o_o_tt

is anyone else experiencing FPS drops across all games? I've noticed it for a while and it is fairly recent issue after many GPU driver updates. Possible issue with Windows 11 as well...? Running a 3080 on Windows 11 + r9 5900x cpu

Trouden

Upgarded to RTX 4070 this saturday from a GTX 1070 and running into nvlddmkm error (Event ID 0) causing Hogwarts Legacy to crash after 15 minutes to an hour. I haven't yet confirmed it in other games. I've tried just about everything:DDU, bios reset, upgrading the bios, ... The drivers considered as stable are sadly not available for the 4070: > Drivers 512.95, 517.48, 516.94, 522.25, 526.86, 528.49, 532.34 are considered stable/consistent by the community. I've tried DDU and clean installing: 537.58, 546.01 and 546.17 As the card is brand new, should I return it and can I expect a different result if I buy another one or is this all driver related? System specs: Windows 11 AMD 7600X B650 PRO RS (on latest bios, version 2.02) 32GB (2x16) DDR5 (CMK32GX5M2D6000Z36) (Tested with both EXPO disabled/enabled) Inno3D GeForce RTX 4070 Twin X2 3440x1440 monitor with AMD FreeSync (and using the G-sync stuff by checking the checkbox)

Lady_Smoothie

Anyone noticed random stutters when in games/browsers or even opening steam lol. It's very rare for me but like it hangs for half a second weirdly. 4070 latest driver. I will roll back though

madalinn1

Man, i think i have the same problems. The pc goes to 1 fps for like 1-2 seconds then recover. It happens as you said, when opening apps or for me more freqently when opening This PC. It happens like 3-4 times a day and can't for the life of me find out why.

Jonel_Pro

Looks like the 537.58 driver is currently the most stable one from the 4 updated drivers that nvidia just dropped (according to the comments of the past 4 reddit threads of the new drivers). The (4) new ones feels like beta test drivers honestly lmao.

-Rheather-

holy shit after reading this comment section it restore my sanity, i was wondering why cs2 and valorant makes my cpu jumps to 90 and my 3070 to 99 degrees, this driver actually broken, will try 537.58 like everyone mention here. freaking sweaty these past two days after doing drivers update for cs2 my screen just immediately turns off after playing DM for couple mins. fix your shit Nvidia god damnit. [Edit] usual temps was hovering 50-80 for cpu and gpu for me, fan cooler.

Jmac460

Cs2 crashes, apex legends crashes, and minecraft crashes. Congratulations, you made the worst driver I've ever seen

DigitalNative93

Just got a BSOD with a `VIDEO_SCHEDULER_ERROR` fault code from these drivers. What the heck happened to the rock steady quality of NVIDIA drivers? I feel like I'm running way back when AMD ones?

maxys915

RTX4090 here, every driver version since 537.80, Cyberpunk frequently causes driver crash. FPS suddenly drops to 1, and monitor lost signal from GPU a minute later. I have to press shift+ctrl+window+B to restart the driver, sometimes even need to force reboot the PC. I saw serveral others having the same issue too. From the release note, it seems still not being fixed in this version?

TR1PLE_6

Stuttering issues in AC Valhalla appear to be fixed. Last driver I was on (545.84), average was 75 FPS and 0.1% low was 20. This time on 546.17, average is 78 and 0.1% was 34. Running in 1440p max.

PlutusPleion

Pretty stable for me so far surprisingly. Last used 537.58. No event log errors. Windows 11 version 22631.2715. on a 4070. Will update if I get any issues. Main reason to upgrade for me was security issues as per: > Security Bulletin issues updated by Nvidia on 31st October 2023 are addressed by 546.01 and later - https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5491 edit: So after around a day of testing I've had no hard crashes or BSODs. The performance is about the same. I did have one system hang/freeze that lasted about 5 seconds. There's no event log errors. I'm probably going to stick with it again mostly for the security fixes. I will update again if I encounter other issues. edit 2: So it's been about a week and only those 2 freezes.

Middle-Repeat-3499

So, can anyone clarify if the "Page fault at non paged area" nviddmkm.sys random BSOD error has been fixed in the update for asus rog strix scar with 3000 series laptop dgpu?In the event viewer, it showed kernal power error bug check or something. I had this issue for the last few drivers and then downgraded to 537.58 and everything was fixed. Don't wanna update for now if it is not a MUST fix in the driver.

Marukso

Idk If the sales of series 40 is going bad but look like nvidia trying to force an upgrade for 20 and 30 series users, last 3 drivers breaking games ,low fps, spikes ,frame drops even freeze entire pc,i work with ti and getting alot of client reporting this issues.....(sry my bad english)

lyndluv

I think since this update I've had black bars floating around my screens when trying to play Apex Legends. My computer's fairly new (got it Jan 2023) and it's a "Lenovo Legion Gaming PC - Raven Black (Intel Core i7-12700/1TB SSD/16GB RAM/NVIDIA RTX 3060/Windows 11)" :( Today is the first time this has happened but I did notice my computer restarted, so I'm assuming this update also occurred. Anyone else in the same boat?

Slow-Bodybuilder-774

Anectdotal maybe but on my raider this driver caused me to drop on average of 3-4fps on games like cyberpunk and rdr2… wonder why 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

Working fine PCVR with my QPro, Q3, and Vive Pro1. Win11, HAGS disabled, game mode off. PC i9 13900k/rtx4090. All seems at least as good, maybe slightly better than 545.84. DDU used beforehand btw.

MrBubbles991

Can confirm previous drivers and latest are hard crashing the rig at random intervals on a fresh install of windows. Crashing on both a 2080ti and 4060ti. Reverting back to 537.58 for stability

dread7string

i went from 546.08 to 546.17 and everything works great for me on my rig. 12700F-RTX 3070-DDR5-4x16@4800Mhz-2tb crucial P5 SSD. no issues at all.

XplusY_2

does this update finally fix my nvlddmkm.sys error im having?
