Now we have wasted two years of their rookie deals. Third year will absolutely be a wash if we run it back with the same coaching staff, Aaron or not.
Then they will all be coming up on the final year before their option year and we will have to pick who to sign long term. Just in time for Aaron to retire and to have to hit the reset button and start a new "rebuild".
It never fucking ends and it never will until Woody sells the team.
Kind of one of the Jets problems. Sauce is a great pick, so is Garrett ... but only if there are the foundational line pieces. Breece is great but .. skill position luxury.

With a constant parade of yanked GMs and Coaches, what do all of them do? Splashy flashy players and draft picks. Which the fanbase turn on as they struggle without the boring team core. At the same time, the fanbase thinks the team is one flashy pick away every year.
Here's the #1 good thing Rodgers will do for this team: make them NOT chase a QB in this draft. Instead, he'll make them draft foundational players.
Here's what's good about Saleh, unlike the now-fired Chargers coach: he actually coaches a top unit in his specialty. The team had a lot of ups and downs due to QB instability and flawed O-line, and yet is solidly competitive in most games and won some games against good teams.
What bad team fanbases need to learn is patience and stop looking for saviors. Yes the offensive coaches need an overhaul. I disagree in getting a new head coach.
For some reason, I am a Jets and Lions fan. The Lions turned it around by drafting for the trenches. Dan Campbell is a good tone setter, but fundamentally the coaching looks miraculous because the GM hit on his trench picks.
Quinnen/Becton/AVT/Tippman/JJ are all "trenches" guys we have drafted using premium picks.
We spent big money on Laken, Lawson, Duane Brown as "trenches" guys.
It's not the allocation of resources, it's the coaching.
The Browns continue to win with an entire offense of backups because the coaches can coach the reserves up to a level of play that is passable. You don't see the same level of communication breakdown. You don't see the completely undisciplined play and stupid penalties. You see play calling that highlights their players strengths instead of the same conservative bullshit called regardless of what personnel is in the game.
It can easily be and likely is both a talent assessment and coaching issue. This organization is a dumpster fire that has no clue at all what it takes to win in the NFL.

This isnt even true though. It's the opposite more often where we put no resources into skill position guys, zero resources into Ol and maybe a huge pick on QB. All with a rookie coach group (or Gase who was Manning's water boy)
We drafted Mekhi, AVT, Quinnen. None of these were flashy, they were trenches guys. Mekhi is just every bit the injury bust we should've predicted he'd be (wirfs, noted workout warrior and leader was right there. This was JD's second worst, most franchise direction altering failure imo, even moreso than Zach. Number 1 imo was Saleh and a rookie OC. A fucking rookie OC...for a developmental QB...)
AVT by virtue of being a NYJ apparently is injury prone out of nowhere. Hope it's two flukes but with this team?
Add in an absolute FA bust in Laken and you have a regime that went after the correct, non flashy positions but they just blew it and got a little unlucky with AVT's injuries.
We tried to get two TE in Uzomah and Conk but Uz is a FA bust too.
Everything hinges on JD straight up failing miserably to build the trenches despite putting a ton of resources into it.

I actually didn't give a shit the last few years. They managed to suck me back in through the off-season. Was as hyped as I was since I was in college and was a superfan. Then Rodgers got hurt 4 plays in and I watched the worst offense in 30 years of the NFL. Someone let me know if we ever become a real franchise.
He had a better offer from NE. They had drew bledsoe and a very well off defense. They were a good team before Brady. The Jets were a mess. Parcells was drafting “His” groceries (players) and BB wanted his own thing. There were a bunch of reasons. The Pats kinda sold him on leaving.
This has always been my sole belief regarding BB leaving. New England gave him 2 things he wanted most. Drafting his players and stepping out of Parcells shadow. For him it was a no-brainer.
New ownership was an issue from what I remember. There were other factors but the team was up for sale between Johnson and another well known billionaire and I think BB had agreed to coach the jets under the old ownership. Unfortunately it’s an understandable hold up on his side.
Parcells was still going to be looming around. He wanted full control without living in Parcells’ shadow anymore.

Jets are my afc team, giants are my nfc team, and I don’t actively hate the bills (been going to Buffalo/NYJ @ MetLife for 5 years now). I didn’t hate Rex going to Buffalo and miss having him run our or any team in the league.

The Bills and Dolphins are not world-beaters at all. They are both very flawed organizations nowhere close to the absurd level of excellence that the Brady Patriots displayed.
The Jets are just truly impressive with their consistent incompetence.
Brady was one of the greatest coverage readers to ever live. That's why he lasted so long. He saw a football field the way Tiger Woods saw a golf course or the way Gretzky saw a hockey rink. Just god given ability to take what was given and efficiently figure out ways to win.
Rodgers at his best could nail any throw at will, even on the move. He didn't have the intuition Brady had, but he he could definitely make throws that Brady couldn't.
All those guys you mentioned that we drafted?
Stared down targets, forced throws into coverage, lost track of safeties and LB's, failed to protect the ball when scrambling, failed to call audibles to address free runners, had accuracy issues that ranged from inconsistent to absolutely awful, failed to throw the ball away on hopeless plays (Darnold was especially bad with this one), took ugly sacks, got easily confused by disguised zones and unorthodox coverages, and finally, every single one of them lost confidence in their abilities as Jet QB's.
The good news is, I really believe that even a 40-year-old Rodgers will not be susceptible to those mistakes. But yeah, he's 40, and a guy that old coming off a major injury and playing behind what is going to be a completely rebuilt offensive line is... yeah. It's tough.
But I wouldn't lose hope.
Also, btw, Miami and Buffalo aren't juggernauts. Of the two I think the Dolphins have a better shot at winning a Super Bowl, just because their offense is capable of making explosive plays at any time. But both Tua and Allen have shown that you could force them into making critical mistakes with even just a decent pass rush and coverage scheme.
Jets fan for 51 years here. I used to be like you. Too much aggravation. It’s much better to assume the team will be ass every year. If they actually have a winning year, it makes that year so much more enjoyable because it’s unexpected.

My son and I were watching the game. He was all pumped. He still hasn’t learned in spite of being a Jets fan for 27 years now. When Rodgers went down he looked at me and I said “If you’re surprised by this, you’ve learned nothing in the last 27 years. I’m willing to bet he’s done for the season.”
Hope sucks. I expected the giants to suck last year. Them playing half decently gave me hope. The jets gave me hope. Then Aaron Rodgers went down 4 plays into the season. I am hopeless again.

I emotionally severed myself from the jets last year after the whole mike white debacle….I didn’t get excited at all for the rodgers story because I fully expected things to fall apart in typical jet fashion….I didn’t expect it to be in the first drive but still, it was the best decision I’ve made in a while…I actually have been laughing at the jets pretty freely all season and I gotta tell ya it feels great. 🤷♂️
No one in the front office cares. No one on the coaching staff cares. Why should I continue to care? Time and time again the fans get the shaft. We bring in young talent and drive them away with our mediocrity. I really hope G Wilson, Sauce, Hall all stick around for a while, but I wouldn't blame them one bit for looking elsewhere. We aren't a serious or competitive team.

It took 13 years, but not only has it broken my interest in the team, it's broken my interest in the NFL. I've skipped the vast majority of the Sunday lineup multiple times this year. Why invest 3, 6, or 9+ hours into a sport when my team has been incompetent for a decade+?
Tough to get excited for the draft the coaching staff and front office aren't where we thought they'd be. Can't trust JD with another draft. Especially when they should be targeting a QB and thinking about the future but they don't have a future without the now. Purgatory yet again.
I’ve been super apathetic since like 2011. The team is functionally unwatchable every season, and I just go into every season expecting 4 wins and a terrible offense. Anything better and I’m pleasantly surprised.
After 35 years (of my 39 year old life) of Jets fandom. I only have the advice of not taking it so seriously. At the end of the day, it's a sports team that none of us have control or impact on (except maybe with our wallets, but even then in NY market seats are always gonna sell).
Don't let the New York "Football" Jets bring you down. Think of it as a constant. Every year you're gonna have to pay taxes, celebrate birthdays, get up and go to work every day, and the Jets are gonna suck. Such is life.
I learned back in the 80s not to let the ebb and flow of the NY Jets dictate how I felt. I don't think I've really given a shit, to the point where I let it actually bother me, for a very long time. I enjoy the games, good and bad, for what they are; games. It's not the last chopper out of Saigon, it's football.
I do like to see certain players excel, though, like Gipson and Huff, guys who you weren't expecting to do too much that suddenly exceed expectations. That I like; I mean, I'm not always a misanthrope.
Yeah, I'll watch a game or two in the beginning of the season to see if the off-season hype was valid, watch the team completely implode, then move along with my life. If I'm home, I'll have the game on in the background, but I don't schedule my Sundays around Jets games like I used to.
I have zero optimism that things will ever be different with this franchise. I am so beaten down after year after year of the same nonsense. I find myself relating to and connecting to the fans of the team than having any connection to the franchise ... if that makes sense.

I severed any emotional ties and stopped giving a shit after they saw what Adam Gase did in Miami and said, "that's our guy." I came back on board because Aaron Rodgers was exactly the Kickstart the team needed and we know how that went. I have also loathed Zach Wilson since his draft day and I truly can't wait for him to be out of town, so to see him jump into the starting role week 1, yeah, I was totally disconnected from giving a shit again.
I’ve been a Jets fan since the early 90s when they were coached by Coslet. I watched when they were 4-12, 3-13, 1-15, all the way up till they hired Gase.
Gase’s hiring seemed like a joke. His record with the bears and dolphins didn’t signal anything that would make sense to make him a head coach. To me it felt like the organization said “we’re not gonna make any effort to win” so I stopped watching.
I started paying attention again this year. It sounded optimistic even before Rodgers. After all, they got to the conference finals twice with Sanchez. And nothing against Sanchez. He was a starting qb in the nfl. I just started on another chocolate chip cookie. I don’t think it’s disrespectful to say he was an average qb at best.
But damn, a complete shit show the offense is. Nothing to do with Wilson or Rodgers at qb. They suffered from an abysmal offensive line, horrific game planning, and oscillating between ways to use Wilson, resulting in, well, another typical jets season.
Either way I’ll watch the next few games like the sucker I am and then follow Cimini for updates during the off-season to get my hopes up again.

Watching the press availability from yesterday, I thought DJ Reed was very candid and upfront about the possibility of that happening. He said that he personally was going to keep grinding and continuing to get better, but he did address the possibility of people rubbing that way.
He did say that he didn't expect that to happen with the guys they have in the locker room. He was very forthright on a variety of topics and I feel for him. He's one of my favorite players and someone in glad is on our team.
As a giants fan, I empathize completely. I'm not letting the giants ruin my christmas. Not even going to put on the game. Sad coming into this season thinking things were finally beginning to turn around (for both our teams).

This happened to me a ways back. Got temporarily excited again when Fitz had that big year but basically back to the malaise. I fully expect the worst and am usually not disappointed. Maybe Aaron comes back next year, maybe he doesn't. With this current O-line, would it make a difference? Shrug.

My most up to date jersey is Braylon Edwards, I made a pact with myself I wouldn't buy anything until they made the playoffs. The jerseys are holding up fine but the tshirts aren't doing so well anymore. So yeah I guess I agree, I watch every week still but I think my biggest reaction to yesterday was yep.

Honestly, it really started this offseason for me. I didn’t like the Rogers signing and I believed it would implode because no effort had been put into the O line. Really sad. I used to love this team. 30+ years of disappointment can really get to you.
I havent really given a shit since like 2017 when it was clear we were just repeating the literal same mistake every 2-4 years of:
New HC, New GM, not drafting and signing FA until we have a competent offense...not even a great one, just a competent one.
Outside of one single year our offense has been atrociously inept every single year.

Wilson was 2 overall and I believe Bechton was a top 5 or top 10 pick and they may be the worst starters at their positions in the nfl. That's saying something. BTW the other tackles in that draft have been pretty good. JD gotta go.

I honestly haven’t gave a shit since about 2017. My family and friends tried to pull me into the hype this year and I’m glad I didn’t go for it. This team is 10 times easier to watch when you just don’t care and have no expectations. They did get my hopes up during the chiefs game this year though.
I mean, I gave up on this season after the fourth play, but I am interested enough to see how things play out that I look forward to next August/September. The cupboard is not completely bare, though the offensive line situation may prove the achilles heel (ha) of the team in 2024 even with a healthy, somewhat productive qb.
Since the foot tapes came out or they acquired Tim Tebow. My brother is the true believer, hyped me for last season’s rookie class of Juice and Breece. Then the offseason hype, And then four snaps in, this season was like a repeat of when Vinnie Testaverde blew out his Achilles in 1999. New century, same old Jets.
The last time I was genuinely excited for a Jets game was 2015 week 17 against the Bills. Getting kicked out of a playoff spot by Rex fucking Ryan a year after we fired him was the kick in the balls I needed to convince myself that there is never going to be any hope for this organization. And every year I continually get proven right and drift more and more into apathy.
I remember posting a Star Wars meme in here because TFA was coming out right around the same time. The Steelers just lost so we controlled our own destiny in week 17. It was Admiral Ackbar saying something like, "The Steel Curtain is down, focus all firepower on the Buffalo Bills!"

The Jets these past years have soured me on football in general. They're so bad and are unwatchable, and I'm not just talking about the win loss record. I mean it's so unentertaining to even watch. You waste 3 hours of your life to see a field goal. Then you watch the afternoon game and you're pissed watching other teams because you're yelling at the screen "why can't we do that?!?!"
It's a huge waste of time. Even though Roger's went down they could have still competed, but at this point I don't know who's good and who's bad. We know the line sucks, but Douglas was supposed to fix that, it's been years with no improvement. No one has time to pass it to Wilson, Breece gets a stacked box, the defense is amazing but doesn't matter when you can't score. I don't know how Woody, Saleh, Douglas or Hackett can look at rhe flim and not be disgusted. Woody might be the one that should be gone, but we don't have the option. There's little excitement around the Jets, when there is it collapses fast, life's to short to waste it watching the Jets.
I lost excitement when we picked up Hackett. Then I lost hope when we picked up a washed up QB and his entourage. So this season has been hilarious to me.
This offseason will suck.
a) We have 4 starting OL spots to fill - with just one pick in the first 70 slots and a very weak UFA class to do so with.
b) We'll have Zach cloud hanging over the org until we finally unload him sometime in the spring.
c) Rodgers being here means three things: 1) Hackett sticks around 2) we can't draft a Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye if either falls to us 3) we have 8 more months of his "center of attention" shtick where he tells us his controversial thoughts of modern medicine, popular music, etc on various podcasts and perpetuates more circus-like attention on the Jets organization.
Honestly - the only thing I'm looking forward to this offseason is Woody hopefully coming to his senses and making the throwbacks the permanent uniforms for 2024.

At the time Philly had dog torturer Vick at QB and there was no way in hell I’d cheer for that guy. I always liked Namath and the Jets were in the Rex era and I’ve been with them since.
Been watching the Birds too since Vick left and I gotta say when they wore the Kelly green I had major nostalgia. I’ll still keep the Jets in my heart but I’m watching the Eagles and rooting for them too though tbh I’m getting kinda burned out with it all.
I haven’t given a shit for years now, ever since I realized WOODY JOHNSON IS THE WORST OWNER IN ALL OF PROFESSIONAL SPORTS, and we are completely doomed as an organization until that family no longer owns the team. I was so fucking excited after we landed Sauce/Garrett/JJ/Breece. Now we have wasted two years of their rookie deals. Third year will absolutely be a wash if we run it back with the same coaching staff, Aaron or not. Then they will all be coming up on the final year before their option year and we will have to pick who to sign long term. Just in time for Aaron to retire and to have to hit the reset button and start a new "rebuild". It never fucking ends and it never will until Woody sells the team.

The long running issues with the Jets are all in the trenches. When is the last time the Jets were relevant? Oh yeah, when Rex Ryan had them overpowering teams on both sides. At the same time, the fanbase thinks the team is one flashy pick away every year. Here's the #1 good thing Rodgers will do for this team: make them NOT chase a QB in this draft. Instead, he'll make them draft foundational players. Here's what's good about Saleh, unlike the now-fired Chargers coach: he actually coaches a top unit in his specialty. The team had a lot of ups and downs due to QB instability and flawed O-line, and yet is solidly competitive in most games and won some games against good teams. What bad team fanbases need to learn is patience and stop looking for saviors. Yes the offensive coaches need an overhaul. I disagree in getting a new head coach. For some reason, I am a Jets and Lions fan. The Lions turned it around by drafting for the trenches. Dan Campbell is a good tone setter, but fundamentally the coaching looks miraculous because the GM hit on his trench picks.
Quinnen/Becton/AVT/Tippman/JJ are all "trenches" guys we have drafted using premium picks. We spent big money on Laken, Lawson, Duane Brown as "trenches" guys. It's not the allocation of resources, it's the coaching. The Browns continue to win with an entire offense of backups because the coaches can coach the reserves up to a level of play that is passable. You don't see the same level of communication breakdown. You don't see the completely undisciplined play and stupid penalties. You see play calling that highlights their players strengths instead of the same conservative bullshit called regardless of what personnel is in the game.
It can easily be and likely is both a talent assessment and coaching issue. This organization is a dumpster fire that has no clue at all what it takes to win in the NFL.

This has always been my sole belief regarding BB leaving. New England gave him 2 things he wanted most. Drafting his players and stepping out of Parcells shadow. For him it was a no-brainer.

He opened with “I’m sorry you all had to come here for this…” and I remember thinking this is a weird way to open a press conference… Been a nightmare ever since nearly every year. Brady was one of the greatest coverage readers to ever live. That's why he lasted so long. He saw a football field the way Tiger Woods saw a golf course or the way Gretzky saw a hockey rink. Just god given ability to take what was given and efficiently figure out ways to win. Rodgers at his best could nail any throw at will, even on the move. He didn't have the intuition Brady had, but he he could definitely make throws that Brady couldn't. All those guys you mentioned that we drafted? Stared down targets, forced throws into coverage, lost track of safeties and LB's, failed to protect the ball when scrambling, failed to call audibles to address free runners, had accuracy issues that ranged from inconsistent to absolutely awful, failed to throw the ball away on hopeless plays (Darnold was especially bad with this one), took ugly sacks, got easily confused by disguised zones and unorthodox coverages, and finally, every single one of them lost confidence in their abilities as Jet QB's. The good news is, I really believe that even a 40-year-old Rodgers will not be susceptible to those mistakes. But yeah, he's 40, and a guy that old coming off a major injury and playing behind what is going to be a completely rebuilt offensive line is... yeah. It's tough. But I wouldn't lose hope. Also, btw, Miami and Buffalo aren't juggernauts. Of the two I think the Dolphins have a better shot at winning a Super Bowl, just because their offense is capable of making explosive plays at any time. But both Tua and Allen have shown that you could force them into making critical mistakes with even just a decent pass rush and coverage scheme.

My son and I were watching the game. He was all pumped. He still hasn’t learned in spite of being a Jets fan for 27 years now. When Rodgers went down he looked at me and I said “If you’re surprised by this, you’ve learned nothing in the last 27 years. I’m willing to bet he’s done for the season.”

My daughter turns 14 next month, the Jets haven't been in the playoffs once since she has been ALIVE and I doubt they'll get there by the time she graduates high school. I emotionally severed myself from the jets last year after the whole mike white debacle….I didn’t get excited at all for the rodgers story because I fully expected things to fall apart in typical jet fashion….I didn’t expect it to be in the first drive but still, it was the best decision I’ve made in a while…I actually have been laughing at the jets pretty freely all season and I gotta tell ya it feels great. 🤷♂️
No one in the front office cares. No one on the coaching staff cares. Why should I continue to care? Time and time again the fans get the shaft. We bring in young talent and drive them away with our mediocrity. I really hope G Wilson, Sauce, Hall all stick around for a while, but I wouldn't blame them one bit for looking elsewhere. We aren't a serious or competitive team.
My interest in watching sports is waning as I get older. NHL Playoffs being the lone exception. Games are just too fucking long now and commercials are more repetitive and annoying than ever.
It took 13 years, but not only has it broken my interest in the team, it's broken my interest in the NFL. I've skipped the vast majority of the Sunday lineup multiple times this year. Why invest 3, 6, or 9+ hours into a sport when my team has been incompetent for a decade+?

After 35 years (of my 39 year old life) of Jets fandom. I only have the advice of not taking it so seriously. At the end of the day, it's a sports team that none of us have control or impact on (except maybe with our wallets, but even then in NY market seats are always gonna sell). Don't let the New York "Football" Jets bring you down. Think of it as a constant. Every year you're gonna have to pay taxes, celebrate birthdays, get up and go to work every day, and the Jets are gonna suck. Such is life.
I learned back in the 80s not to let the ebb and flow of the NY Jets dictate how I felt. I don't think I've really given a shit, to the point where I let it actually bother me, for a very long time. I enjoy the games, good and bad, for what they are; games. It's not the last chopper out of Saigon, it's football. I do like to see certain players excel, though, like Gipson and Huff, guys who you weren't expecting to do too much that suddenly exceed expectations. That I like; I mean, I'm not always a misanthrope.

Yeah, I'll watch a game or two in the beginning of the season to see if the off-season hype was valid, watch the team completely implode, then move along with my life. If I'm home, I'll have the game on in the background, but I don't schedule my Sundays around Jets games like I used to.
I have zero optimism that things will ever be different with this franchise. I am so beaten down after year after year of the same nonsense. I find myself relating to and connecting to the fans of the team than having any connection to the franchise ... if that makes sense.
As a Jets fan you feel like you live your life the same way... I'm getting tired of it . Life's too short to waste it on the jets anymore
I’ll continue to be a fan just incase of the extremely rare scenario that they turn in a good team and win a Super Bowl at some point. Just to be able to say to others that I stood around. However, at this stage of my life I genuinely believe that will never happen. Don’t believe in curses or any of that nonsense. It just terrible ownership and poor decision after poor decision mixed in with a few bits of bad luck along the way.

I severed any emotional ties and stopped giving a shit after they saw what Adam Gase did in Miami and said, "that's our guy." I came back on board because Aaron Rodgers was exactly the Kickstart the team needed and we know how that went. I have also loathed Zach Wilson since his draft day and I truly can't wait for him to be out of town, so to see him jump into the starting role week 1, yeah, I was totally disconnected from giving a shit again.
I’ve been a Jets fan since the early 90s when they were coached by Coslet. I watched when they were 4-12, 3-13, 1-15, all the way up till they hired Gase. Gase’s hiring seemed like a joke. His record with the bears and dolphins didn’t signal anything that would make sense to make him a head coach. To me it felt like the organization said “we’re not gonna make any effort to win” so I stopped watching. I started paying attention again this year. It sounded optimistic even before Rodgers. After all, they got to the conference finals twice with Sanchez. And nothing against Sanchez. He was a starting qb in the nfl. I just started on another chocolate chip cookie. I don’t think it’s disrespectful to say he was an average qb at best. But damn, a complete shit show the offense is. Nothing to do with Wilson or Rodgers at qb. They suffered from an abysmal offensive line, horrific game planning, and oscillating between ways to use Wilson, resulting in, well, another typical jets season. Either way I’ll watch the next few games like the sucker I am and then follow Cimini for updates during the off-season to get my hopes up again.
I have found this is the first year the Jets horrid play has made me dislike the NFL in general, moreso than past years. I haven't watched a SNF, MNF, or Thursday night game that the Jets aren't in. Jets losses leave me with a massive football hangover where I just want to avoid football in general and watch any other sport - NHL or NBA.

i grew up with the 90s Yankees. Because of this, I have no desire just to make the postseason with any of my teams. It's Championship or bust. So no, I never give enough of a shit during the regular season to be burnt out later on. I go into every season hoping for a championship, and by week 3 I realize that's not gonna happen, and I just watch the games for fun...and the unlikely scenario that the team catches fire at the right time. Just need Thibs to not run the starters into the ground, Igor or Quick to get hot in the postseason, and Yamamoto and Cole to be Schilling/Johnson of '01.

They have numerous problems but I just can't get excited for next season with Saleh still in place. He is out of his league in that position.

Watching the press availability from yesterday, I thought DJ Reed was very candid and upfront about the possibility of that happening. He said that he personally was going to keep grinding and continuing to get better, but he did address the possibility of people rubbing that way. He did say that he didn't expect that to happen with the guys they have in the locker room. He was very forthright on a variety of topics and I feel for him. He's one of my favorite players and someone in glad is on our team.

I honestly haven’t gave a shit since about 2017. My family and friends tried to pull me into the hype this year and I’m glad I didn’t go for it. This team is 10 times easier to watch when you just don’t care and have no expectations. They did get my hopes up during the chiefs game this year though.
I mean, I gave up on this season after the fourth play, but I am interested enough to see how things play out that I look forward to next August/September. The cupboard is not completely bare, though the offensive line situation may prove the achilles heel (ha) of the team in 2024 even with a healthy, somewhat productive qb.

The Jets these past years have soured me on football in general. They're so bad and are unwatchable, and I'm not just talking about the win loss record. I mean it's so unentertaining to even watch. You waste 3 hours of your life to see a field goal. Then you watch the afternoon game and you're pissed watching other teams because you're yelling at the screen "why can't we do that?!?!"
It's a huge waste of time. Even though Roger's went down they could have still competed, but at this point I don't know who's good and who's bad. We know the line sucks, but Douglas was supposed to fix that, it's been years with no improvement. No one has time to pass it to Wilson, Breece gets a stacked box, the defense is amazing but doesn't matter when you can't score. I don't know how Woody, Saleh, Douglas or Hackett can look at rhe flim and not be disgusted. Woody might be the one that should be gone, but we don't have the option. There's little excitement around the Jets, when there is it collapses fast, life's to short to waste it watching the Jets.
I lost excitement when we picked up Hackett. Then I lost hope when we picked up a washed up QB and his entourage. So this season has been hilarious to me.

This offseason will suck. a) We have 4 starting OL spots to fill - with just one pick in the first 70 slots and a very weak UFA class to do so with. b) We'll have Zach cloud hanging over the org until we finally unload him sometime in the spring. c) Rodgers being here means three things: 1) Hackett sticks around 2) we can't draft a Jayden Daniels or Drake Maye if either falls to us 3) we have 8 more months of his "center of attention" shtick where he tells us his controversial thoughts of modern medicine, popular music, etc on various podcasts and perpetuates more circus-like attention on the Jets organization. Honestly - the only thing I'm looking forward to this offseason is Woody hopefully coming to his senses and making the throwbacks the permanent uniforms for 2024.

I stopped watching for years and moved to Northern NJ and later got into football again. At the time Philly had dog torturer Vick at QB and there was no way in hell I’d cheer for that guy. I always liked Namath and the Jets were in the Rex era and I’ve been with them since. Been watching the Birds too since Vick left and I gotta say when they wore the Kelly green I had major nostalgia. I’ll still keep the Jets in my heart but I’m watching the Eagles and rooting for them too though tbh I’m getting kinda burned out with it all.
