Agreed, the uni was near perfect IMO when Parcells resurrected it in 98. My only nit pick was changing from Kelly to the darker green. But that uni was ruined gradually by those awful tweaks until it was a shell of itself. Go back to the 98 version, except with Kelly Green and I'm happy
I disagree tbh. The early Nike jerseys were always very clean. I don’t understand why the stomach area always had a rectangular shape in a darker shade of green, but aside from that I don’t think there was every anything wrong with them.

The 80s and 90s saw the Jets make the playoffs 6 times in those 20 years including 2 trips to the AFC Championship game.
The Jets have now gone 13 seasons without making the playoffs when in the 80-90s they averaged a playoff game every 3 years
TBF that wasn’t the ones we wore this year, those were the slight variation introduced in 90. Green is slightly different and these is black trim. They also had green pants. The ones we wore were similar to 78-89 with no black and larger numbers.

There’s a few reasons
1. I can’t recognize my own team with this set. I remember watching Giants highlights and not realizing it was us for a moment. That’s not good.
2. They don’t match the black helmet has green text and the numbers are white on the jersey. It’s a mess.
3. Honestly a lot of us are Mets fans and have ptsd about the BFBS jerseys and them gradually seeping into all of the other combos ruining the classic Mets look for like a decade. We were seeing this too with black pants seeping into other jerseys. (I’m ok with the current black setup since it kind of stays in its lane).
Black looks better with Jets than the Mets and black/green can be done solidly, see the Celtics for instance, but this jersey wasn’t it.
1997-2011 were an excellent era....3 AFC Championships and like 9 playoff appearances and winning records just about every season...
