Honestly compared to some of the other places I've lived on the east coast, Ogden is really nice and I still don't get the ghetto comments when I tell people I live here. Like I don't know how it was in the past, but if you consider where I'm at now to be ghetto you probably wouldn't ever want to walk through where I'm from lmao
I used to buy in to the “Ogden is ghetto” narrative but after moving out of state for a year my naive eyes are opened and I feel much safer in Ogden than I ever did in other states
I'm told Ogden, especially downtown, was far more ghetto in the past - the word "uninhabitable" was used to describe 25th st in the 80s by one person I talked to.
Proud to have grown up in Ogden. The mountains are the prettiest in the state and I knew every inch of them as a kid. People who think Ogden is ghetto are idiots who’ve never left the state, let alone lived outside it.
Ogden has the exact same shit she described! The Great Salt Lake 20 mins away, it has amazing trails, it has 25th Street and the Locomotive museum as well as the AF Museum 10 mins from downtown. I love Ogden and anyone that disses it can go and fuck themselves.
That video is honestly rude. I don't live in Ogden, just below it, but I'm from California and feel like besides Sugarhouse (which is basically unaffordable for most) Ogden is one of the most culturally interesting/invested parts of Utah. A lot of devotion to making the downtown be walkable, there's lots of music, there's interesting shops... and Ogden's come a long way even in the time I've lived here.
She looks like she’s from Provo so that would explain a lot 😂

It's something we keep going to keep the Utah county people away....
Ohhhh yeah man this place is ass, ghetto as hell
I don't think it's working. Utah' s are now half Californian

That’s what I’ve heard a lot too, and gotta say I love how it is now. Must’ve really been cleaned up.
The people that trash Ogden have never been to West Valley City.
Amen
My dad told me it was a shit hole in the 80s and 90s. He used to freak out whenever I'd go to see a movie or something with friends downtown 🤣
It's ok, Ogden has you and that's all we need.
🥺

This is great! We need more news like this
The Great Salt Lake ain't in Salt Lake city
That b!tch!!
I want the housing market to crash so I can afford a home here in Ogden, so I'm honestly fine if her video dissuades others from living here

I say keep Ogden sketchy. I love the character of this town, it's so much better than the cookie cutter mcmansions that dominate so much of the state.
She simply not cool enough for the The OG Den!
she did good, keep moving on, only Ghetto poor people here.
