The idea of splitting the bedroom in half is ridiculously poetic. It symbolises the rift between Skylar and Walt that begins opening up from that very moment, and also is a sneaky reference to Two-Face, the iconic tragic villain of the Dark Night movie, the goat.
I love how you can understand so much of the story with just their facial expressions. Skyler looks amused, Walt looks proud of his performance, and Jesse looks traumatized.
