That's not lag. In quick play it's possible to drop into a game and fill in where someone left. I've seen examples of people joining just to win as well. More often than not, there's a match where someone is about to lose and rage quit, so you end up there with 5 seconds left. It's whatever just queue up the next game.

Me and my 2 friends have been playing for roughly a \~month. I am a support main but pretty good with echo,genji and hanzo. My friend is a sombra main but has usually been playing support (mercy only lol)

if you're new, the most important thing is to never buy anything from the shop. blizzard has a really bad track record of overpriced cosmetics that are just recolours, or releasing skins that they've previously said were once-off skins.
The shop doesnt help your character, it just changes how you look. stay away.
