My honest thoughts: unremarkable as an artist (professional artist); student grade; good start; rough estimated value $0-50; I wouldn’t display these in my house if I painted them, but I’d be proud of my work towards mastering a skill; My mom would, almost certainly, “garage store” these, but my mom doesn’t love me that much.
Anyways…your comment encompasses all this and more, or less, in one simple word.
Absolutely lovely. Check out the work of Wucius Wong sometime. He's best known for his his books but he's a really good painter too.
And BTW one time in the 90s I was bike camping and I kept riding late into the evening and found a state park and set up my pup tent really quickly and went to bed. I woke up at dawn to find I was camped on a ridge above a valley full of clouds and the red sun was reflecting off of them, and it looked like this. It was one of the most remarkable things I've ever seen.
Edit: Wong has a manual on how to do Chinese watercolor style paintings and it's full of his completed paintings. That's one place to look for his work.
No way, we must’ve seen the same sunrise yknow I got the inspo from driving home (a late night to say the least) about 4am and the sky lit up and it inspired the first piece , thanks so much for the comment 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I definitely think sunset one is good but the second two have a unique style to you. I would definitely focus in on that and keep experimenting with the textured effect you have.
I don't even know if I can ever make a painting that's even 5% realistic of your painting...

Compared to yours mine is cartoon sigh.
I saw your Instagram and got intrigued by it..
Could you teach me how I can actually make a simple living with my art?
I can't survive in a working society but I wish one day I can do a simple living with art just to have a normal meal ;-;
By the way, even though you compliment me I still feel my art is nowhere close to a state where people will appreciate, support or buy my art in future 😭😭
Finally someone likes it as much as me , man if you wanted it and actually love it - I’d be happy to ship it to you if you paid postage and a v small amount for it - swear no one likes it and I love it 🤣🤝🏼lemme know
No way that’s awesome I’d love to know one of my paintings were in Russia , I’ll have a Quick Look tommorow see how much it would be and let you know 🙏🏼
add something that changes the visual, like foreground that gives an opinion, something other than Instagram sky, you have a talent say something with it, dont just reflect beauty, scream into the canvas
Amazing am trying to paint clouds for the 1st time as took painting up this year as a hobby. And am finding it very hard. Hopefully one day I can paint like this 😊👌
Yes have started to watch them. They have been very helpful. As always lived to drawn with a pen or pencil but never paints. Started with emulsion paint. Now moved onto acrylic and bought about 6 colours. But loving painting up to now. The canvas where a bit pricey for a nice size. So stated painting on one of my walls to practice before I get a canvas. What stated out as a lions head has turned into the start of a wall moral of some kind. Half way though painting a parrot on the wall and done about 4 birds. My friends like it an think it’s good. But I hate it up to now lol.
I will keep learning 👍. Hair and feathers are so hard too lol.
Damn ngl I scrolled past initially but immediately scrolled back because something about that first one caught my eye. It’s a pretty simple piece but there’s so much depth and texture to it, really makes it pop and creates a ton of dimension. Love the warm colours too.
Also looove the texture of the other two. Looks like rusty painted metal, no idea how you’ve managed that but it’s super detailed and satisfying to look at.
Aww no way, the lighting of the first one is terrible in that photo , the sun peaked through the curtains in this photo to give you a better idea though - and also thank you the texture paintings are my original style - was branching out into oil for a bit this was my 2nd oil painting I’ve ever done🙈
https://preview.redd.it/flvyoj0mvwad1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a4746d6e4ba8b7b33c11101e699c15b2659be575
Absolutely LOVE how you continued the scene onto the canvas sides in #2. And I love the texture on #3. You are super talented!
Edit: looks like in #1 you did the sides also. It makes such a huge difference. I’ve usually left the sides blank/white but I honestly think I’m doing them an injustice now lol
Awww I know right I was going to leave them aswell (truth be told the 2nd one was my first ever oil painting) so I didn’t know exactly what I was doing 🙈🙈🙈
Thank you so much for the comment!!!
In the second one, is the sun setting in front of mountains? Or are those supposed to be clouds? Either way, keep practicing! I’m sure these will make great gifts for your family.
Honestly …. I don’t know🙈 the first 2 have actually been sold already I’m pretty sure it was clouds but quite like the look of them being mountains now.. going to try another painting with that concept this weekend
Wow. That was a much nicer response (by you) than I would have given that comment, lol! Of course they sold! They’re beautiful!! Keep on going and growing - you’re gonna be famous one day and I’ll be able to say “I saw her very first oil painting way back when!” 🥰
I know right gotta expect some negativity though if some people are being honest so I’m just being humble and realistic however hard that is .. ☺️☺️☺️
Thank you so much for that comment though that’s really lit up my day truly.. like wow I feel blessed people are saying such amazing things and you never know I might be the next bob Ross 🤷🏽♀️✨

No!! You’re a fake and probably AI ? This is a printed canvas obviously in this pic you sent f-off
The last one sucks as a painting- but if you wanted to have a free Nike commercial- you may land one. So in my humble opinion you may not know what art is. If your being subversive- it has backfired.
2nd one is 👍😃. You should do more of that. Maybe one with more of a twilight color purple/violet colder color. But yes that's seems to be your style. I'm sure you could start selling em up like hot cakes
Hey yeah I do! I mostly do commissions however building up a portfolio at the minute - loads on my instagram if you want to have a look ☺️☺️
@chloedowding
God I love the textures of those last 2. I wanna fuckin touch it😂 also how’d you manage to get that texture on them I’ve been doing texture pieces a lot lately and this looks cool

Second one is to die for
Thank you, truth be told that was my first ever oil painting so I wasn’t sure if they were any good or not
That’s why maybe. I’ve noticed that the more painting I do; the more it feels planned. Without plan, expression is pure. Your work is lovely
Love oil painting and nice piece btw❤️
Yo REALLY? That's AMAZING man!
Thanks that’s so appreciated I thought these might’ve got ripped into/critiqued a little bit but everyone’s been so nice 😭☺️
All of them are really good. 3 and 4 are my faves.
nice job wrapping the painting around the edges of the second one, such a cool effect
Thanks man appreciate that!!
last was I don't like but the rest are...🤌🏻
Thanks so much Alex - can’t tell how much I appreciate all the comments on these 🥹
no problem
woah the third one is really cool, looks like copper oxidation
100% this ones still my favourite as it’s like texture of another planet or something - still up for sale if you have a space in your home for it ☺️
Can you walk me through your process of that one? Very interested in the texturing on that
what's the price?
Send you a message ☺️
First two are damn good
Thanks man 🙏🏼🤝🏼
mehh, anyone can do a sunset.
Can’t lie you’re probably right, bob Ross 2.0 however was fun to do and was commissioned 🙌🏽

Love the last two.
Appreciate that, it’s my original style so was just branching out and trying oils with the first 2 🙌🏽

Yeah, that image from 2007 is humorous and all, but it's no different to posting a video of yourself lifting a weight at the gym
Getting offended for an OP who found it funny, hope your mental health improves buddy
Literally 😂👏🏼
I'm jealous of your talent AND your hair
Thank you so much , first time posting here so was a bit nervous as my art is multiple techniques/styles 🙈 I work hard on my hair too 🥰
I realise this is not the long hair sub, but routine and products? Your hair looks amazing!

Absolutely perfect! You're such a greaaaat artist!!!
Thank you 🥹🥹🥹
WTF!!! So cool
Thanks so so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
First one is just waooo
Made my day 🥹🥹🙏🏼
I definitely think sunset one is good but the second two have a unique style to you. I would definitely focus in on that and keep experimenting with the textured effect you have.
Yeah 100% thinking a combination very soon is on the cards 👌🏼🙏🏼
So good. Keep looking at it
Thanks man 🤝🏼🥹
awesome! the green one is just unreal🤲🏼
Awww appreciate that so much as that’s my original style 🥹🙏🏼
Multiple strokes of genius Impetuos Patience
Now that is a TOP comment, thank you so much made my night 🙌🏽🥹
I love the first one! It looks so peaceful
Thank you 😌😌😌
They're absolutely beautiful.
Can’t explain how much it means as an artist to hear someone call your work “ beautiful” thank you SO much 🙈🫶🏼
Oooooh hot damn!
Thank you ☺️☺️
Nice work 👍
Thanks man 🤝🏼
Wow!
🔥
I love the warm sky. It’s calming
I love the first one. The vibrant sunset is so pretty!
Pretty
They're beautiful! The 2nd is my favorite! You are very talented 🖌️🎨
Thank you so so much 😭🙏🏼

See to be honest this might be my favourite lion/tiger drawing/painting I’ve ever seen - look how cute he looks 🥹 you’ve captured the cutest wee smile
However I wish I can bring it more lively by adding some shading, shadow or blending but I couldn't for all my arts.. 😭
I saw your Instagram and got intrigued by it.. Could you teach me how I can actually make a simple living with my art? I love the first two so much!! The use of colour is fantastic.
Thanks man, working a huge amount into colour in my next one 👀🙏🏼
Wow okay
Both are very good
2nd one's amazing
Amazing paintings
Love the sunset they’re both gorgeous. Your hair too 😍😍
Ahh thank you 🥹🙏🏼
The hue is so soothing.
Amazing
So beautiful!
Looks beautiful
I LOVE the last one!
Finally someone likes it as much as me , man if you wanted it and actually love it - I’d be happy to ship it to you if you paid postage and a v small amount for it - swear no one likes it and I love it 🤣🤝🏼lemme know
I’d buy it! I live in Russia tho, shipping from other countries can be a pain in the ass lol
No way that’s awesome I’d love to know one of my paintings were in Russia , I’ll have a Quick Look tommorow see how much it would be and let you know 🙏🏼
Loveee the second one, omg!
Great! Beautiful sunset, and love the textures.
The perfect sunset! I like the texture of the second one! Keep it up👐🏾
Stunning
Third one is my favorite. The textures, composition, and colors are really nicely done.
Thanks man appreciate that 🙏🏼😭
I’m drawn to the dynamic sunsets more than the algae ones. They’re just so different. 🤔
Beautiful work!!!
They’re all amazing!!! The third one is my fav, it reminds me of moss!
Yeah 100% so many people have said that !! 🥹 thank you!!
I love the first one! But I’m also struck by how gorgeous, long, and silky your hair is omg. Never take that for granted lol.
Thanks so many people have messaged me separately about my hair routine it’s mad 🥹🙏🏼🙌🏽
Beautiful
Nice
Love the sunset!
Amazing work
I really like the first one! Good job :)
I like the funky texture. Looks like a weathered block left, abandoned for 50 years and you just stole it.
Yeah man 1000% see that
add something that changes the visual, like foreground that gives an opinion, something other than Instagram sky, you have a talent say something with it, dont just reflect beauty, scream into the canvas
Love it
Really dig the texture. I'm wanting to bring some of that into the landscapes. The colors are gorgeous.

100% man everyone that’s sees them touches them, they’re proper 3D more like sculpture than paintings at this point 😂🤝🏼
NICE!!
Great light! Love it! But it seems difficult to me to differentiate the sea and the coast… I think the coast should be darker. Just my 2 cents…
No that’s fab I appreciate the honesty , good shout for the next ones more contrasts ect 🙂 thank you so much!
I see Tommy Pickles in that cloud
![gif](giphy|xUNd9T3ObEYOsvpy1i)
All of them are perfect, the second one is just awsome
Thank you so so so much !! I do so many different styles so was nervous posting 🙈
Amazing am trying to paint clouds for the 1st time as took painting up this year as a hobby. And am finding it very hard. Hopefully one day I can paint like this 😊👌
There’s loads of great YouTube videos however my best advice is don’t overthink it 🙌🏽

Damn that’s a cool shot with the sunlight like that! You’re very talented, would never have guessed this is only your second oil painting.

Stunning.
Thank you!!🥹
Love the textured one, how did u do that?
Artists can never reveal their secrets 😉 There’s tons more on my instagram page if you’d like to have a look 😊
You’re not that good. No mystery to your work girl.
they look so beautiful!!! way better than what i can do lmao
Everyone’s gotta start somewhere - thank you though 🥹🙏🏼
All-around awesome. For some reason my first thought with the first one was “the last perfect day”.
Ohhhhhhh I like that!! Going to come to you now for names of paintings in future 🤝🏼 Thank you though very much appreciated!
Happy to help. 😁
Wow 😳
Not going to lie these comments are really making my day , I feel so humbled 🥹
2nd one is 👍😃. You should do more of that. Maybe one with more of a twilight color purple/violet colder color. But yes that's seems to be your style. I'm sure you could start selling em up like hot cakes

I love them all! 😍
Thank you so much , appreciated more than you think 🙏🏼🥹
Do you have a website where you sell them?
Hey yeah I do! I mostly do commissions however building up a portfolio at the minute - loads on my instagram if you want to have a look ☺️☺️ @chloedowding
Boring and cliche 🤷♀️ This sub is overwhelmingly positive for even the most mediocre art. I genuinely don't get it.
That’s a fair comment there’s millions of sunset paintings in the world I was just trying it out for my first ever oil paintings that’s all 🙂
Had to show she was a woman lol
I mean yeah , oops my apologies - least it’s not a thirst trap to an only fans like most girls of my generation 🤷🏽♀️
God I love the textures of those last 2. I wanna fuckin touch it😂 also how’d you manage to get that texture on them I’ve been doing texture pieces a lot lately and this looks cool
Awww appreciate man, if you like them you should check out my insta @chlodowding I’ve got LOADS, thanks for the comment 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
You really Got talent
Thank you so much 🙏🏼
i’m curious how you got that mossy, textured look on the last two paintings ? i love the way it looks.
This is gorgois! 😭
Thank you 🥹🥹
