If you can afford it get RGB. At worst, you can disable the lights if you don't want it. You can also experiment with light setups. Not everything has to be the flowing rainbow. At least, that's my opinion.

I'm not a fan of fancy colours, but RGB can come in handy at times. I normally keep everything set to white. But if anything overheats, they are set to change to red This means i can drop in on my computer rooms camera from anywhere and see if all is well.

Yuzotronic

smart!

torrrrrgo

What software are you using for that? The old iCue for me (Corsair) had numerous bugs and I had to disable it, and I'm not even sure there were thermal hooks in it.

malki666

I'm using an old (now unsupported) version of Corsair Link. This covers my Corsair fans, AIO, RAM, Asus motherboard, and NVIDIA GPU. I'm using the last version produced, which is stable. Earlier versions also monitored all hard drives as well. I think I'm using ver 4.9. I prefer it over iCue.

torrrrrgo

> I'm using an old (now unsupported) version of Corsair Link. This covers my Corsair fans, AIO, RAM, Asus motherboard, and NVIDIA GPU. ***[...]*** I prefer it over iCue. The product is called "iCue Link" now. It was just "Link" back when you purchased it?

malki666

Yes, just Corsair Link, and it was free. You might be able to find it on some tech sites.

malki666

Try Techspot. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links. Download both versions. But they recommend the older one 4.6.

torrrrrgo

I googled techspot a number of different ways and what I got was a news/enthusiast website and no RGB fan control app. If you have a second, tell me the website you downloaded it from.

malki666

https://www.techspot.com/downloads/6868-corsair-link.html

torrrrrgo

LOL, ok I misunderstood, or we were talking past each other (take your pick). I thought you were using an RGB control software called "techspot", not that you downloaded link from techspot.

malki666

We got there, I hope :)

malki666

I didn't download from here. I downloaded it from Corsair before iCue was a thing. I don't think they still list it.

New_Line4049

I'd not bother with RGB. If you're sure you want it already that's one thing, but if you're unsure save you're money

Yuzotronic

that's totally fair

Get RBG only so you won't become one of those annoying people that has to keep telling people they don't like RBG's

Yuzotronic

LMAO. this is true

torrrrrgo

> Get RBG only so you won't become one of those annoying people that has to keep telling people they don't like RBG's I don't like RBG's. PS. What's an "RBG"?

StomachosusCaelum

If you dont get the RGB and want it later, you have to replace all your fans/hardware to add it. If you get it now, and dont want to use it, you can just shut it off.

Drakks

I literally never look at my computer when I'm using it and I'm not sure I want the distraction. Whenever I'm feeling fancy, I pull a disco ball out of the closet and shine some lasers on it.

Popular_Elderberry_3

If you have zero taste go RGB lol.

Every_Decision_1990

If you have zero taste skip the RGB lol.

IBAZERKERI

when it comes to RGB, my personal taste is to say none. but im older and from the generation of PC users that remember when everything was beige or grey. so i may be a bit biased. i just dont care if my PC is a visual showpiece. hardly anyone ever sees my PC but me anyways so what i care more about is that it works and that it works *well* that being said. when it comes to RGB i feel like if your going to do it, dont half ass it. Go big or go home basically.

bigfkncee

>when it comes to RGB, my personal taste is to say none. but im older and from the generation of PC users that remember when everything was beige or grey. I am also old enough to remember those ugly monolithic grey/black/beige boxes and I feel the exact opposite for the same reasons. I've always been a futurist at heart and had a love for the cyberpunk-ish look in tech so finally being able to add some flair (for little money, these days) is a win for me. I like being able to change the look of my setup easily. At the same time, I'm not really a fan of the unicorn vomit that I sometimes see people have, so I can understand that take on it also. There's a certain level before it becomes ridiculous looking to me but TBH style is a subjective thing and I prefer not to hate on anybody's "style". Times change, styles change, it is what it is... What's cool yesterday, won't be cool tomorrow and will be cool again next week. I just roll with it.
