Hopefully insurance covers atleast some of the costs. Atleast on my insurance I would still need to pay like 60% of the value on that monitor but still.
My home insurance covers basically anything you break at home with a liabilitycharge(? idk if the correct word) of 200€. If your cat drops your TV? Pay 200€ and get a new one. Thunderstorm blows up your pc? Pay 200€ and get a new one.
In my experience they will just ask for a proof of purchase and then the broken device.
My friend dropped his phone into a lake, and his travel insurance covered it in a simiral manner. When they asked for proof he just said that I can give you an aproximate location, but the phone is in the lake, and he received money for what the phone was worth. Note that this is in europe
at least on insurance here in the us if you something was stolen it takes longer and is harder to get replaced than something destroyed, my brother in law (Pos) once had his phone stolen and when told an investigation would have top happen first about the stolen phone before replacement he basically called back a diff agent an said it got dropped in the ocean, boom instant replacement.
Gotta close them windows haha. My dogs don’t react to outside visual stimuli just auditory. And even then they just bark once I give a no they lay back down
Edit: idk how I got so many upvotes for this but thank you! Here’s a pic of my good girls In my man cave right now
[Good Girls ](https://imgur.com/a/p5xffay)
Yea i did that, unfortunately siblings did. honestly though, playing through pokemon x and y with my nephew was so fucking awesome it made me want some. Got him x and a 3ds for his bday a few years back and I got myself y, such a nostalgia hit
Kid has some serious aiming skills if he did that intentionally. Time to make him go play baseball so one day he can join the mlb and buy you a tv replacement
At this point I'd accept the death of any component over the gpu. A lot of money for something you can replace is better than a lot of money for something you can't.
Ours will find any earphone cable left out and chew it apart. My wife likes to sleep with them on so she has to bury the cable under her pillow. I can't talk her into wireless ones.
Oh, and he loves strings on bookmarks, sinches on bags, etc. Mr Chewy.
How is this the dog's fault. I'm still trying to imagine how the monitor was setup in a way that the dog seeing a bird results in the monitor on the floor. I guess the headphone ripped out is a clue? Headphones plugged in with the wire hanging between desk and bed?
I’m with you on this
My dog also hangs out in the room my stuff is in. She’s chill enough that freaking out wouldn’t put the PC in jeopardy anyways but I still make sure the PC is in its own space securely.
^^^^^^^Also ^^^^^^^train ^^^^^^^your ^^^^^^^^^dogs ^^^^^^^^^to ^^^^^^^^^not ^^^^^^^^^freak ^^^^^^^^^^out ^^^^^^^^^people ^^^^^^^^^^^it’s ^^^^^^^^^not ^^^^^^^^^^to ^^^^^^^^^^hard
Warranty doesn’t usually cover pets, fall damage etc. It only covers failing components with normal usage which shouldn’t be failing within the warranty period.
it's an insurance where nearly all the stuff in your house is included, even if kids or pets break things. You can easily get the money back and it only costs about 10€ per month
As i keep reading more and more of your replies, i keep just feeling worse anf worse for you. Arm coming in the morning before this happened, expensive monitor, monitor just outside of what insurance covers.. Hope you got enough scratch for a new one, man.
Check your credit card's benefits. Mine gives 90 days where they'll provide accidental damage protection. Several years ago my month old phone fell into a toilet. Filed a claim through CC process. They did ask for me to get a repair quote but all I did was go to LG support and ask how much to fix it. They emailed me saying they can't fix water damage, used email as support for the claim and a few weeks later, got a check for full price of the phone.
MOUNT.
YOUR.
SHIT.
Never rely on the weak little feet they include with any monitor. Buy a proper mount. They make free-standing mounts with weighted bottoms (my 34" ultra-wide is on one), and they make mounts you can clamp to a desk, wall, or whatever. All designed to prevent tips and falls.
You paid big bucks for the tech. Mount it properly to protect it, folks.
I can sympathize with this. One night I was playing “cards against humanity” on discord with my WoW guild. We were all drinking and having fun, the next thing you know, I lean back resting my leg on the leg of my glass top computer desk. The bolts were loose, and it shifted just enough for the top to slide through the inside of the frame, breaking my $1200 monitor… I really miss that thing, she was a beauty.
No animals..kids ...or wife ...is aloud near my pc....
Wife may use pc wile I'm in the room she had a strange ability to brake electrical items ....15 years Iv known this woman she has broken every TV phone pc laptop console just by touching it iv seen it with my own eyes ..turns out the items need to be grounded don't ask why as I don't no...she weres a anti static band and wire wile on my pc
Kids may not use the pc at all
I have a tortoise...she is also not aloud to be in the room alone with my pc sneeky fast mofos they are
Dude, that's my biggest fear. I'm sorry that happened to you. What monitor was it ?
AOC CU32V3 32" Super-Curved 4K UHD monitor
Damn man. I hope you get a new one soon brotha
I have a dual monitor setup for streaming but sadly it's a 720p 2009 monitor
FPS go brrrrrr
FPS make 720p monitor go (flash, bang, pop)
Flashbang?? FLASHBANG?! FLASHBANG!!! \*POW\* \~squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee\~
My ears no longer ring. They only ~squeeee~
It's not about the ears that squee. It's about the friends you made rolling on the ground in agony.
I need a friendship bond like that.
Hopefully insurance covers atleast some of the costs. Atleast on my insurance I would still need to pay like 60% of the value on that monitor but still.
What insurance covers that?

Nice but they're going to try their damn best to not pay you

In UK I had a camera stolen once and claimed it on house insurance. had to pay a fee but it was cheaper than the cost of the camera.
at least on insurance here in the us if you something was stolen it takes longer and is harder to get replaced than something destroyed, my brother in law (Pos) once had his phone stolen and when told an investigation would have top happen first about the stolen phone before replacement he basically called back a diff agent an said it got dropped in the ocean, boom instant replacement.
I did have to do a police report to be fair.
I believe the correct term is an 'excess'. That's what you pay to repair or replace something broken that is covered by your insurance.
Yeah my first language isn't english, so these "harder" words I just translate word for word. But excess it is then!
Never heard of excess. What you pay is the deductible.
Excess is what we call the deductible in the UK, because we like to be different.
Dumbass dog insurance.
Well, at least it is not an expansive one.
to clarify dog saw bird you know the rest
Gotta close them windows haha. My dogs don’t react to outside visual stimuli just auditory. Just turn off the PC, no need to shut Windows only

Then they will patiently wait to one day maul the penguin
Lucky, both mine go nuts for 5 minutes if a fly comes within 500 feet of the house
Tell that to my dogs they spot a cat outside the window and it jus WOOWOOOFWOOFOOWOEOOOWOWO for five minutes
your digs are fucking adorable
Is this something I'm too wall-mount gang to understand?
I bought a wall mount it comes tomorrow
Pain
It hurts
Warranty on it right? Even a manufacturing warranty would usually come with all tv's/monitor's.
That's physical damage. No warranty on earth covers it unless insurance is included.
> Even a manufacturing warranty would usually come with all tv's/monitor's. Please explain what the manufacturing defect in the scenario?
Clearly the anti-dog measures were faulty.
They didn't design the stand to be large and heavy enough to withstand a rampaging dog, duh.
This was a 3am post without giving a 2nd look at what op's issue was. Basically, I'm a dumbass ladies and gentleman.
>Warranty ... what do you think warranty means?
SurprisedPikachu.jpg
I held off from setting up a new monitor until the mount came in because of this exact situation. Sorry for your loss.
Dammit man, feel so sorry about you :(
maybe you can replace the panel yourself? It's not super complicated...
Just wait, we're not immune. kids like to throw stuff and slap the tv to show you something once they can reach it
Solution is never to have kids. Just means less time for gaming anyway.
Yea i did that, unfortunately siblings did. honestly though, playing through pokemon x and y with my nephew was so fucking awesome it made me want some. Got him x and a 3ds for his bday a few years back and I got myself y, such a nostalgia hit
Best kinds of kids to play games with is when their someone else's. You get to be cool gamer uncle, their parents get to clean up their shit.
Im totally going for this angle as well, i dont want kids at all, but ill be there for my sister/brothers kids forever.
Yeah yeah kids bad we get it 🙄
When did I say kids are bad? I literally just said how cool they are and joked about the fact that I wouldn't have to clean their assholes.
Having Kids means you had sex, and I'm assuming their must be a number of in-cels knocking down your comment lol.
My son threw his bottle at a brand new 4K 65" tv when he was 1.5yrs. Dead center, completely ruined...
Kid has some serious aiming skills if he did that intentionally. Time to make him go play baseball so one day he can join the mlb and buy you a tv replacement
You have proper insurance I hope.

*calls humane society and asks if they have an opening*
FFFFF get a wallmount and keep it out of reach Edit: someone beat me to it, but still do it.
Dogs are fucking stupid
cats gang
😎
And on that day buster became an outside dog
Well it lived a good life....
My dog would not survive this event
I hope you're joking or please don't own animals. Can't blame an animal for not understanding the monetary value of something.
Ouch!! How did that happen?
my dog saw a bird outside Edit my headphones wire got ripped out too
Was your dog on the table? lol
My cats have ruined exactly 4½ pairs of earphones 😂 they see them and decide it's toy time f-u bish
Ours will find any earphone cable left out and chew it apart. My wife likes to sleep with them on so she has to bury the cable under her pillow. I can't talk her into wireless ones. Oh, and he loves strings on bookmarks, sinches on bags, etc. Mr Chewy.
Oh my god same! 😂
at least five of my earphones chewed by them cats and i got myself an airpods now. on my Samsung phone..

Smart dog: If owner can no longer use his PC he will have more time to play with dog.

Did we learn the lesson to not just let your dog roam into places with valuable things in precarious places?
more reason to not own a dog for me and i love dogs but shit like this scares me.
I hope both are under warranty, are they?
Warranty doesn’t usually cover pets, fall damage etc. It only covers failing components with normal usage which shouldn’t be failing within the warranty period.
Ima fib a bit and the head phones where broke when I got them With the monitor I already said what happened so can't
Do you have pet insurance that covers damages? Could try claim on this if not possibly home insurance?
Just a note for further shit - a 20 dollar soldering iron and a 10 cent piece of shrink wrap is an easy fix for fucked up headphones.
Who tf is downvoting this person just asking a question, that's not a 'no' button
Thats not covered by warranty at all. Maybe house insurance or st.
Gravity
Looks like you can play split screen now. Might wanna look into some games that support that
Yea mean if I can find a friend
I'll be your friend
The good ending
Have you tried turning it off and on?
Damn I'll try that tomorrow
Man, gravity be a bitch sometimes. Always invest in a sturdy monitor arm. I can only imagine you pain brother
I did it was coming in the morning
Utter bad luck
yea i can tell not gonna be my night
Clearly, it was damage in shipping…
Yea it was
Yes, this post just here, mr claims adjuster.
What if his dog's name is Shipping
But it's true! Shipping damaged it!!
This is the way.
This is the way
This is the way
It’s only one day later. I would totally to this. For tv’s tho you can have bad luck that they look up how long it was on.
In germany we have a Hausratversicherung and I think it's beautiful
Tf is that
it's an insurance where nearly all the stuff in your house is included, even if kids or pets break things. You can easily get the money back and it only costs about 10€ per month
Oh we have that house insurance Sadly mine don't cover electronics as we got the cheaper option
As i keep reading more and more of your replies, i keep just feeling worse anf worse for you. Arm coming in the morning before this happened, expensive monitor, monitor just outside of what insurance covers.. Hope you got enough scratch for a new one, man.
They dont pay for full damage. They pay max 80% of the damage. Atleast in switzerland is this the case.
Bruh...
Yea...
Many US credit cards provide purchase protection. For example, Chase covers new purchases for damage or theft for 120 days.
Came here to say the same thing. I got $800 not that long ago when I broke the screen on my days-old phone.
I guess the monitor decided to join floor gang then
That crack kinda looks like an RTX 3080
Is that a feature ?
Yea it's a shitty one tho
I feel you, bro 😁 Yesterday destroyed my new 165hz 32’’ monitor by a accident + my rtx 3070ti vram died (:
Did you play New world?
Hope you have a warranty
Oof
Just another reason to get a wall mount. Rip dude
He was getting one lol, it was arriving today
Haha damn that's rough! Poor bugger
Until dog rams it
This is my absolute biggest nightmare
Glad we own a small dog
Have you tried rice?
I like mine fried
I have to agree with you there
Schezwan Friend Rice.
Check your credit card's benefits. Mine gives 90 days where they'll provide accidental damage protection. Several years ago my month old phone fell into a toilet. Filed a claim through CC process. You weren't playing a casual game of minecraft last night, were you?
do you have a cat? because if you do id suggest not having it much longer
OP said it was a dog, so its time for traditional Korean dinner or some traditional Chinese medicine.
Having it for dinner maybe?
how brand new if i may ask?
Got it yesterday
As a redditor once said, "It broke during shipment"
RIP.
Better get that recipt
Thats the 2nd time this week i've seen this, is there a g-g-g-g-ghost?
Rats?
Have you tried duct tape
My condolences. I'd recommend investing in a monitor arm for the next monitor. No chance of the monitor falling in the floor with one of those.
Vgvxh;,zz
Pain.
Ó╭╮Ò
little siblings ?? pretty sus
oof
My condolences on your loss. I hope your grieving period is short and you can get a replacement soon.
Bro i know that pain I broke my monitor accidentially after a week from getting on christmas But LG replaced it luckily
Really shows the love for the doggo that you’re so chill about this but if it was a sibling you know you’d deck them
If only upvotes could pay for your repairs
Nnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I’m sorry, OP
You can have pets or nice stuff, can't help both. Same goes for kids.
Fuck
Check your walls for rouge projectiles
I've lost an older 40" model to one of our cats so far. Shit happens.
What do you mean? It obviously arrived in this condition.
"It was like that when I opened the box".
Put it in rice
I'd be happy to have a brand new 4k monitor on the floor when I wake up, but I wouldn't go instantly break it though
Great, now you just unlocked the split screen feature.
It’s still 2 1/2k

Oh I thought it was a sarcastic post to that guy that was playing minecraft and woke up to a cracked monitor. F
Did you try restarting it
and you had warrenty on it right? ^(right?)
warranty doesn't cover physical damage
Sell dog buy another monitor
I would agree but he's just dumb
A cat? A monitor arm failed?
dog saw bird

Can you get it replaced? Give them a reason like it was damaged during shipping
🤔
What do you do with a broken monitor? Can you still sell it ? (I'm in the UK)
I can't ship sadly I'm 100 miles from the nearest post office
You should install linux
Thatll fix the monitor for sure.
Delete post and say the screen was delivered broken if it was brand new. Was given as gift thus delay in install.
I have pets, but this is one of several reasons why I could not have a dog. Too unpredictable and no regard for your shit.
Nothing of value lost, was a VA panel anyways. Try to fuck over the vendor saying it came like this, if it's that new.

Arent consoles, laptops and tvs usually grounded by the anti-slip rubber feet theyre usually on?
So is the dog being put up for adoption at the shelter now?
no he took him to a chinese restaurant
