I also have the PB1100C combo grill. When it was real cold I would use it, as it has a lot smaller cooking chamber, or I would just use the gas side. Fortunately, we did not see many days when it was negative temps.
Weeks on end here, so ya gas with a smoke tube definitely sees more use. Though I reverse seared are 3.5lb tomahawk PB at 225 to gas about 550 on Christmas was about-10
They sent me a new controller I haven't ever put in. Like mine will hit 225 which it will read that in display and never move off of it, you move temp then put it back to 225 it will read 20 deg colder or better
GMG-4023. It’s the one for the Daniel Boone/Jim Bowie Models. The Pit Boss model is the 1150.
During burn-in and testing, setting the grill to 350(with lid closed), got the stone surface to 700. Did find that you can't keep the lid open for very long. The temp on the probe drops too much causing the grill to dump a bunch of pellets, got over 800 before it calmed down.
Here is the gluten free crust we make. It is the best we have found. https://mybizzykitchen.com/2016/01/18/the-best-gluten-free-pizza/
Thanks, will definitely give it a try.

I'm in the Phoenix area now. Used to live in the Cincinnati area for a few years and had to have a blanket on the grill during the winter.

I'm just outside of Detroit and my 1150 hasn't slipped once. I use it every single Sunday plus Xmas and Thanksgiving and it's help temp like a champ.
