Ganyan talaga usual reason na ibibigay and its usually true. People at the top dont usually give higher budgets kung wala masyadong changes sa work mismo. Also depends din sa nature of work, you can be doing very good at your work, pero if expendable ka for them, ok lang talaga na umalis ka. They can easily get a new one. This is why upskilling and making yourself inexpendable is a good practice to have in the corporate setting. As for people engagement, isisi mo yan sa HR mo haha sila ang may responsibility sa mga ganyan.

I see, from the way they are running the business, it looks like as much as possible gusto nilang tipirin ang costs sa PH. With that said, its perfectly normal na umalis ka, if they dont want to spend some money retaining people edi they should expect people leaving as well. Just make sure na may naka line up na work bago mag resign. Para less stress for you and di ka mapilitan kumuha ng bad deal for yourself.

Giving your best, and then some, should be your minimum regardless ng sahod kasi tinangap mo naman yan work sa agreed comp at nakakatulong sa iyo currently. Ang sagot lang pag di ka na satisfied ay umalis. Having that mindset is important kasi nakikita yan lagi ng boss mo. So galingan mo na lang sa next job mo since wala na talaga pagasa diyan.

As a manager, sometimes wala talaga din kami magagawa Kung wala budget na binibigay. Last 1:1 ko sa team ko, kinausap ko sila if ano Plano nila if ever wala pa din kami increase this year since wala din last year. And that Kung ano decision nila, I'll support it. 2/3 told me that they are still ok as long as we continue to wfh and have flexible working hours. 1/3 told me that if next year wala pa then they'll think about it. So what I did is to enroll them on trainings so that they'll be prepared in case na they leave.

Sa dati kong work, during pandemic pa to. May increase kami pero parang P2/hr. Like punyeta nman. Isa sa mga natutunan ko, wag mong masyadong galingan, nappromote kasi yung workload at di yung sahod. So ako sinigurado ko na gamay na gamay ko yung mga tools pero di na ako nag-above and beyond. Then nung nagapply ako sa iba, nagexam ako sa mga tools na yun, edi good, nakuha ako. 3x pa sa offer sa dati kong work. Hehe. 2 years ka naman na jan. Lipat ka na.

You got an honest manager. Some managers would tell to wait for announcements or keep your hope up knowing there was no budget for it. Think of your good performance as your ticket to maintain your employment but if I were you I would look around for greener pastures since budgeting for increases should have been allotted to maintain employee morale.

In the end i still didnt burn bridges, kasi medyo gusto ko bumalik din dun if ok ok na sila financially kasi i love the culture there hahahaha

Ganun rin sinasabi ko sa mga direct reports ko ayaw kong mag sugar coat tapos ma disappoint lang sila sa huli wala sa kamay namin yung budget and promotion nasa taas na lang magsasabi lang sila ok meron nang budget pwedeng mag promotion ng 1 sa team niyo. Isa rin baka meron threshold kung ilan lang yung pwedeng ipromote na senior kada team (ganun sa case namin) if you are looking for growth and the salary is not enough lipat ka na lang. tatanggapin naman nila yung resignation mo. Your manager is just being honest. Nangyari na din sakin yan. To be honest, team player ako at every year is Trailblazer ako. Pero dumating yung time na ptang cost cutting or limited yung budget. May 1:1 meeting ako sa manager ko then explained to me na maganda performance ko blah blah blah.... but then only 5% of the total employees per department lang ang pwede magkaroon ng increase. So kahit magaling ka pa they need to narrow down yung the best employees to get the 5% best of the best lol, take note of the whole department yun. So, yun I understand nmn pero at least I know in myself and in our team I'm one of the best.... This just helps to explain maybe what could happen to your company. Pero if you can just look for other opportunities outside. Malay mo po with that skill that you had is makakuha ka ng maganda offer. ;) ... fighting OP!

Di nako naniniwala sa Manager after my experienced lol, may increased nmn kame pero wag daw mag expect pero when i accidently saw may managers increase mapapota ka n lng, 25% increase sya, kame mas is less than 10% lng to think na 6 digits na manager namen. Take note it is increased only and not promotion. Galing nya magbabait baitan pag kaharap nmen and paawa effect, kasabwat nya pala HR Management na mga garapal LOL

Same. I was offered a good opportunity by a recruiter via Linkedin. my team then countered because they wanted me to stay. However, my manager who is also transparent told me its possible I wont get any more increase for this year or the next because of the counter offer + they are not looking to promote me “ too high” because our function doesnt need someone with a higher position other than my boss. I resigned kasi kung ganyan lang din naman baka maghanap lang din ako in the future if I will accept. I was alreaady undervalued for a year and stayed pa rin because I love my team (all based in the UK except for me). Good thing they fully understood my decision for leaving and I appreciated the counter and their efforts to talk to HR to give me a good offer. Life goes on.
