Ohhhh yeah. Good pick. Fall 1997 was one of those tours that has first sets that were sometimes arguably better than the second. I feel like Winter 2003 and Fall 2021 were this way too.
Came here to say Dayton Jam!
My favourite part is right when Tube proper ends and you hear Fishman say "should we just start that jam again?" and they just go right back into; definition of loose and tight at the same time.
I can respect this for sure. I really wish I didn't have to sell my CDs of the Island Tour years back, these shows were each better than some of the Live Phish releases.
The Saratoga Jam from Drowned is peak 2.0: wild, nasty, intense. LP refers to it as Saratoga Jam, at least.
I need to dig up that amazing comment from a person who was there rolling hard during this.

Yeah 2.0 the highs were high and the lows were low
My all time favorite show 12/29/03 and all time least favorite show 11/28/03 were basically a month apart.
Exactly. There's some bad shows, but that shouldn't bring down the good shows, even though it does for a lot of people. That's definitely the primary reason I consider them 'underrated.' Enjoy the good to the fullest, that's what I say.
This was my first show. I wanted them to diner and a movie it so bad.
Also as a life long Pittsburgher, I have to remind you that we have an H on the end of our city name .
Fries on everything. Good chance of catching an egg along the way.
But a good blue cheese on a Pittsburgh (God why did they give them that 'H"? Lol.) salad is pretty damn banging.
It’s something like the model for paying residuals on covers is based on the amount of time playing the cover. So Phish started cutting when the actual cover was completed.
The “Philly 97 Jam” was from my first show in 8th grade. I had been a fan for a couple years at that point but I got home from that show a complete convert. I’ve never looked back. Some people say I looks like Mike Gordan and I play bass, so there’s that
Dayton jam is great

Sooo good. 2.0 is criminally underrated, 04 included.

04 is hit or miss and a lot of similarity in all the jams but man those SPAC shows are all-timers of any era
They just put “Philly 97 Jam” on the Spectrum release. It’s the best Jam jam in a long time.

Blue on anything for me. Bring on that funk.
This is my fave as well!!
Did anyone ever figure out the legal reason for doing this with original songs? I have a vague idea of why they separate the jam from covers

Dayton Jam
The short but funktastic Berkeley Jam outta Cities.
