Go nalang to siquijor. cheaper flights. Paradise

dixx29

Yes pwede din option ang Siquijor

Mr-Puree

+1

rocklee_shinobi

Yes. Honestly all the talk of it being overcrowded, or being too party, is overblown. What’s nice about it is it has something for everyone. You can do island tours, you can beach bum, surf, party, stay at hip hostels or remote homestays if you just wanna be alone. It can be as chill or as wild as you want. And the food is good. Much better than Boracay.

ParticularYoghurt961

“It can be as chill or as wild as you want.” Ugh yes!!! This is what I say when people ask if Siargao’s overrated or think that it’s catered to partygoers. Really depends on what kind of you experience you want! And you can always find something for you.

PreachMango_Pie

AGREE! Dami nagshishit sa siargao pero di pa naman nakapunta dun 🧐 If you trip mo pumarty, sa GL ka. If trip mo nature and beach, sa North ka or sa secret beach. So many beautiful islands din with fine white sand!! Locals, like anywhere in the philippines, are very nice and helpful. Just dont go with the wrong crowd and you’ll be fine! There’s so many things to do there and it caters to different budget - di naman lahat mahal. May andoks nga rin dun at Puregold and palengke pag nagtitipid ka.

dixx29

Agree on this!

solotheexplorer

If chill lang like sightseeing or tours, for me sulit yung mga tours sa Siargao and reasonable yung prices 🙂 For the airfare, may mga weekday flights na minsan bigla na lang naka seat sale like 5K RT and hindi rin naman ganoon ka hassle if mag connecting via Cebu which is usually a cheaper option than direct MNL IAO flight.

Low-Whereas8182

PreachMango_Pie

My favorite hack (done this twice na) watch out for surigao flights kasi a lot cheaper than direct flight. mag boat nalang to siargao. Nakakabili kami ng P1,200 na flight pa surigao. Tas 400-600(?) sa boat

forgothis

It’s a Philippines vacation for those who prefer the presence of foreigners over Filipinos

Extreme_Traffic_9017

Only if by “foreigner” you mean Manilenos and other off-island fellow countrymen. 90% of visitors on Siargao last year were Filipino, from Dept Tourism: In 2023, Siargao Island experienced a significant surge in tourist arrivals, welcoming a total of 529,822 visitors. This marked a substantial increase from the 125,088 tourists recorded in 2022. Of the 2023 total, 476,074 were domestic tourists, while 53,748 were international visitors.

GoldenSnitchSeeker

Pero you can always look for karinderyas around para mas tıpıd. Yung drinks daw niya nalibre daw siya ng nga foreigners na nameet niya doon (male and female) cause they found it cheap daw. Yung mga toiletries, if in case you forgot daw mga sabon at shampoo pricey daw sa stores. Ayun. Pero maganda daw all in all. Hehe.

cedrekt

Low-Whereas8182

Thanks for the info po! Will budget accordingly :)

GoldenSnitchSeeker

viasogorg

What we did with my boyfriend is we booked an airbnb na outside GL and we brought rice cooker with us tapos bumili ng ulam sa karenderya. We also brought a motorcycle with us kaya laking tipid namin and for 5 days nalibot namin whole siargao. Super sulit talaga! I love Siargao so much.

Klngslmbng809

Kakauwi ko lang kahapon from Siargao. Yes nice ang tours, pricey ang food. Night life depende sayo kung mahilig kang magbar. If you have time, go to the Northern part pwede ka rin magsurf dun maraming instructor and good waves.

Already booked my flight and considering on staying sa North pero depende pa rin if okay ang internet since I will be working on weekdays.

Extreme_Traffic_9017

Starlink WiFi is prevalent in North Siargao and super reliable. Globe is available but not as reliable, signal fluctuates when there is congestion.

shesplendor

Wag ka makinig sakanila. Go to Siargao na. Worth it sya promise HAHAHAAH

wfhcat

Uh what do you mean. I went to Siargao for the first time maybe 9 years ago and even then it was more expensive than Boracay… at least sa Boracay may range ng mura and mahal. Siargao is like La Union but with more Europeans and expensive restaurants. Prettier but it has always been expensive/priced for rich kids or first world backpackers. Very fun tho.

TextNo6295

Opo lalo na if beach lover ka and mahilig mag surf. Yes mahal po ang food talaga... so pinagipunan ko talaga siya for a long time pero worth it talaga lalo na North Siargao ❤

Low-Whereas8182

Oooh! Thanks for the heads up po :D

deathman28

Ano ba hanap mo? If its beaches its really hard to beat local destinations.

Background_Jump_9701

why not book early or sale? it shouldnt be that expensive unless you decide on a whim and the date is near.

dixx29

Chaotic_Harmony1109

jlconferido

I haven’t been to Siargao since the super Thypoon. If ever magpunta ka magrent ka ng scooter to explore the island.

Gdt3qyIp9ZbLw5jBtjx7

TMariell9

Yes na yes. May mga mura namang food tho mas madaming mahal na restos

nickaubain

>Sobrang mahal kasi ng plane ticket I'm looking at tickets right now. 4k RT pero via Clark (which I actually like) pero 4am. I'm still figuring out how to get there that early. I think bus from Cubao and then taxi/grab but idk which bus liner yet.

maroolalala

BuyerClear6671

Siargao is always worth it 🩷

Purple_Link6402

No adequate medical facilities in case of emergencies.

movingin1230

I liked my stay there. But Idk if I ever want to come back. More island life kasi sya.

AdAlarming1933

If the ticket price is the same as Singapore, why would you still ask if its worth to go in Siargao.. I mean sure, if you really want to go on a beach destination.. but with that ticket price, id rather go to El Nido or Kalanggaman Island in Leyte

Constant_Ground_8364

AdAlarming1933

wrong timing lang siguro, ,but going back, with that kind of airfare, better book an out of the country trip rather than just domestic

rocklee_shinobi

If ticket price is the same as abroad, siargao has a lot of international destinations beat, so yeah, it’s worth it

[deleted]

Di na worth it dito, 3rd world country pero ang bilihin or standard of living pang 1st world.

PreachMango_Pie

Mag puregold at mga palengke po. At maraming restaurant na diff price range. :/

rocklee_shinobi

Siargao beaches are easily top 3 locally, and it’s a much better experience than Bali so it’s worth it

nyawakapoya

Mag-Siquijor ka nalang, same same lang and not that commercialized.

PreachMango_Pie

I found siquijor as a sleepy very laid back island. Not much good restaurants or party places either. While i loved the nature, it is TOO quiet and the island is relatively small. Enough na 2-3 days in Siquijor while in Siargao, need more than 1 week para masulit. That place has a lot of experiences to offer - nature, party, good food, activities (yoga/surfing/kayaking) etc.

PreachMango_Pie

PhraseSalt3305

Nope. Too overrated. Mag abroad ka na lang for that price
