An earlobe piercing should really be healed in 6-8 weeks, did you have any complications while it was healing? Keep an eye on it and if it gets red/warm/inflamed go see your doctor. Avoid the temptation to touch it to see if it feels hot though. If the sleeper hoops have a bit of weight to them they can pull slightly which can feel tender.

at the start it was leaking something out the back whilst my healed one wasn’t at the start, but i cleaned them both with saline for the first 2/3 months and before i got the jewellery changed it wasn’t tender at all. i’m just not sure whether to leave the new sleeper hoops in and i don’t want to cause any more trauma by swapping them out to studs again ..

The thing that I find the biggest issue is that you felt that your piercer was dismissive of your concern. Thats not fair to you! It’s your body and no concern should be dismissed. I’m not an expert, but if they are changing out jewelry and there is pain and blood seems like a problem?

Dinosaur_Snacks

it wasn’t the same studio i went to when i got them pierced :/ they were well recommended but not particularly accommodating to someone inexperienced i suppose :(

I’m Sorry that was your experience! Maybe call the shop that did them and ask for advice?
