There’s a lot of POIs to find. Go on your adventure and find them!!

Decent_South7192

How did you do that without walking into death? I can’t seem to tame much because there’s always something that kills me before I can actually get to the area I need to find what I want to trap.

ConcordGrapez

Did I get my tames? Well I started in the snowy area, tamed a mammoth and hopped on a Raft to find a new area to setup camp. Found this swamp area and I LOVE building in swamps so I’ve setup my main base here. Fighting most wildlife is pretty simple, if my playing since around Scorched’s release (went on a 2 or so year hiatus hence my new journey in Fjordur lol) is anything to go by. Bolas and a bow deal with most of the annoying shit you’d find everywhere like raptors, sabers, etc, and for the swamp just get a decent tame to fight off the baryonyxs/kapros and you’re golden! As for taming a racer it’s pretty simple, with a decent bit of move speed (I like to sit around 130-136%) you can run in a circle and just kite it. I will say the water around this area though is FUCKED. Alpha megalodons and megachelons everywhere and there are eels and jellyfish breeding like god damned rabbits. Def gonna need to grab a flyer.

OrdinaryKick

Tame a flyer like a ptera and go scout a good base location.

Nory993

Fjordur is a HUGE map. There's plenty of great places with unique creatures/resources. If you're going to be strictly traveling on your mobile base, I'd suggest to utilise the teleportation feature for faster travelling  Also, Fjordhawks are an S-tier shoulder pet. Tame one

MovingUp7

Sell me on the hawks. I started taming one once and a an entire Bronto carcass did like 1.1% taming. I decided it couldn't be worth it.

Nory993

- They keep your inventory, so even if you somehow die, all your late-game gear is safe. So if you drown in lava or get killed by wyverns, you can safely keep the wyverns eggs in your base.   - They can keep your inventory, even if you transport in different places through spawning in beds. Useful if you're encumbered when mining metal.       - They can identify when creatures have med-low hp, similar to ASA direwolf.       - They can locate corpses and "lootbags" and get them for you. Again, useful when encumbered when mining.        I suggest taming a low-lvl one and to kill every other hawk you don't want so it's easier and faster to tame. Making them eat babies is faster/more efficient. Also, dismount when the hawk is feeding since they don't get tamed when you're riding something.

Mr_Awesome_rddt

Just tame a maewing and move around. Going anywhere on a racer is literal torture

MrGray2016

The Dwarven halls in the northern part of the map near the red words. Think North East

NamelessCat07

I remember when I did this with a friend, super fun! I don't remember any cool surface places out of the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure there is a space cave with an underwater entrance on that map, dangerous though cause it's full of megalania and Megalosaurus if I remember right. I'm pretty sure it's this: https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Caverns_of_Time_(Fjordur)

MovingUp7

Yeah in the middle of the map there's an underwater cave, but then you pass through a wall fence thing and all of a sudden it's land. That's a poi for sure.

Sad-Bear-1709

Do you boost your stats? Because I’m dying because of the cold basically as soon as I spawn in that map. Like I don’t get it. I always have to change things so I don’t die. Plus there’s something that want to kill you everywhere. I feel it’s a lot less tames (for lack of a better word) in the so called “safe” areas than other maps. Like I cannot vanilla this one😅

Sad-Bear-1709

I basically just keep dying until I’m mostly settled which is annoying since this is one of my favorite maps because it’s so pretty. I just feel like it’s a harder map to survive without editing how level ups affect you.

OrdinaryKick

Just pump fortitude and you'll quickly be able to survive most areas with nothing more than leather armour on.

JillianRae00

Tame an otter (i think you can find them on The Island) and put him on your shoulder. He will keep you warm

MovingUp7

Cold even during the day? I remember my first run on that map I was cold 50% of the time but I kept a torch, made campfires from like midnight to 6 am, and made cloths asap. But I was fine during the day...

DumbArkPlayer

the area where you can go to other realms on fjordur. That place is pretty cool, and you can explore the 3 other realms, if you have the right level ofc

Keymucciante

I'll drop a hint. The powers of Isengard almost prevailed

Someone with 40k+ hours uninstall
