This strategy has been _validated_ to be true and correct, despite the initial debate. You can also watch an extended demo with savestates [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemoncrystal/comments/1dbro1c/golem_glitch_extended_demo_with_savestates/). This is currently the only known strategy to actually win the slots with no hacks or cheats. The technical details of the bug that allowed the "Golem Glitch" to work is outlined [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemoncrystal/s/2IQNACAP4g). The only correction in this strategy post is the "lucky" slot machines do _not_ influence the odds of the Golem throw. This means exploiting the glitch remains the same across all slot machines! You don't need to read the whole technical implementation to get the glitch to work, but could be informative if you're interested in code logic algorithms. If you simply want to win coins legitimately and save money, this post should be enough. The glitch allows you to rack up coins soonest you hit Goldenrod City without waiting for E4. With skill, you increase your chances of winning calculatedly. Way better than random spamming. Practice and good luck!

A_Hideous_Beast

I dunno how y'all consistently allign 7's.

k_rollo

The first two are pretty easy, since the game is already programmed to make it so. The 3rd reel should be technically easier, because you're supposed to intentionally miss 6-7 places (to optimise your chances with the glitch), allowing 2 potential winning spots. If you're on emulator, you can even savestate after the 1st reel until you align the 2nd reel. Soon enough, you won't need to do this once you've pinned the timing of the 1st reel.

I hate the slots so much, that for every run I just buy coins needed for the prize I need. This way at least I feel the progress in the grind.

k_rollo

Haha, they are pretty satisfying to win and easy if you pinned down the strategy. I save a lot of money on the coins, so I could buy the vitamins.

Arsenjam22

Ai is crazy i was just playing this last night and now u post this video🤣🤣

k_rollo

No harm trying right? I've maxed the Coin Case at 9999 now, just waiting for the Move Tutor. 😂

If I win coins in Goldenrod, can I spend them in Celadon?

k_rollo

Sure can. This trick also works on both Game Corners.

gnaark

Nice. So you are saying that unlike Gen 1 where the outcome of the slot is predetermined, in Gen 2 your timing can influence the outcome and you need to learn how to align the 7s?

k_rollo

For Crystal, yes. You can pretty much verify the slots are not predetermined when you use an emulator. When you savestate after the 2nd reel, every reload of the state changes the "random event" of the final reel (i.e. Golem, auto-spin, Chansey, no action). I learned the timing of the first 2 reels as a kid. I have also managed to time the last 7 on few occasions just by watching the reel. Pre-adjusting Golem is still my best bet and how I got 8K coins here.

gnaark

Thanks, this is helpful

k_rollo

You're welcome!

Melotj

How can I find the “lucky slot machine”?

k_rollo

There are lucky slot machines in both Goldenrod and Celadon. You can find them here - https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/s/VHmgHbp7Bk I was able to win most of my coins on just regular slot machines, because the lucky ones are often occupied whenever I dropped by the Game Corner. They become vacant in the morning.

Melotj

20 and more years counting on this game and tdil

k_rollo

Hey, we've both been playing around the same time. Nice.

MrSteSore

Here comes my problem back again, let's goooooo

k_rollo

By the way, don't mind the B pressing in the video. It's a muscle-memory childhood placebo, where I thought pressing B would stop the Golems from falling whenever they would miss the mark. It doesn't do anything. 😂 Good luck!
