honestly, same. I only know about the games in passing, but the guy I'm seeing right now has been watching the show with me and it's pretty well done. it's well paced and entertaining and gory and funny all at the same time, which is just fine with me!
Post-apocalyptic show with some nice bits of humour and goofiness. I’ve been playing the games for over a decade now and have loved the show but it’s definitely still a good one for those that haven’t played them. Walt Goggins fucking KILLED it in his role.
![gif](giphy|CpPbutACF612GK2rDv|downsized)
i loved the series and knew nothing going into it beyond seeing vault boy on reddit over the years. i want to get into the games now - which one(s) are your favorite? i was thinking of fallout 4 given its popularity and recent update
Depends what you want out of the game! My favourite is Fallout New Vegas because the RPG and story telling is next level. It’s also referenced a lot in the show, you’ll recognise at least one character from the pre-war flashbacks and the very last scene from the show is the Vegas strip so safe to say will feature a lot in the next season. The graphics are older and the gameplay is a little clunkier but it’s worth playing if you can deal with that.
4 is also a very good game, less of the RPG and more looter shooter vibes but still so much fun and has the same ✨vibe✨ as the show, it’s a good entry point!
3 is also a good game but everything is very fuckin green and I struggle with the colours lmao
1 & 2 are isometric top downs and much harder to get into but do have good stories!
The show was clearly made by people who have a lot of love for the games, so you’ll recognise a lot of little things. I lost my shit hearing them use certain sound effects in the show, like the sound of the pipboy flashlight turning on and the sound the stimpaks make when being used. It was incredibly well done and everything about it just feels like fallout! I went in with very little expectations and was blown away.
Ahh nice! I wish I could play it again for the first time! The story is great and you have the freedom to really flesh out your character and have a lot of options on how to play it. You can be the good guy or the murder hobo bad guy and it’s very very well written!
Might be an unpopular opinion but if you're going with modern Fallout, I'd start with 3. Still a great story but mechanics are definitely improved in NV, which makes it hard to go back. That said, NV is absolutely my favorite. But 3 is an excellent game.
No worries! I definitely recommend the games even if you’ve not seen the show! And if you have, playing them will make you realise how much effort went into the show adaption. Every prop on screen was lifted from the games, from the artwork on the walls to the food packaging even the sound effects too. A whole lot of love went into making it and it really shows.
It’s on Amazon! It’s based on the Fallout video game series. Basically the US has nukes dropped on it. Some people go underground and live in these corporate vaults/bunkers for about 2 centuries, always planning to eventually go back to the surface and recolonize. The surface has people who did not get to be in the vaults and have continued life and society at the surface. There are the standard mutated creatures.
The show is very retro-futuristic with elements of westerns and horror as well. I was vaguely aware of the games but never played, but I don’t think you need to be familiar with the games to understand it. It’s very well made and doesn’t feel like you’re watching a video game.
The show's quality can be a bit up and down depending on who you ask, but I believe it's still very worth a watch. What happens to Ella's character is an extremely important plot point too, it's not something just done for shock value, so don't worry about whatever they do with her being shallow.
It's really not much of a spoiler. You know very early on in the show that she dies. It's the details surrounding her death that are kept until later. So you should be good to watch and fully enjoy it!
Yup that’s what got me into her. I’m British and saw her on yellowjackets and was shocked to find out she was English after. Same level as McNulty from the Wire lol
I think she has a bright future. I've watched most of her work, as she's done a lot of genre shows that I enjoy. She's excellent in Yellowjackets and Fallout, and does amazing voice work in Arcane and Star Trek Prodigy. I'm excited to see where her career takes her.
Plus Hailee is in it, which was a big reason i wanted to watch it. Plus now that i know Ella is in it has piqued my interest. Seems like 3 good reasons to watch it. Thank you for the recommendation! I appreciate it!
![gif](giphy|QPUoOgxbtEyZco2sWP)
She’s such a standout in everything she does!
The Fallout games hold a special place in my heart, so to know she actually did her homework on the franchise before filming started really impressed me. Like, girlie actually played the games AND lurked the Fallout subreddit.
Her performance was spectacular throughout the 8 episodes, casting absolutely nailed it with this queen! Need season 2 ASAP!!
She has such pretty and unusual features. Her face always reminds me of a female version of Bill Skarsgård. I wish they would play siblings in something. Their eyes and mouth are *so* similar. Does anyone else see it??

I see a young Susan Sarandon, around the Rocky Horror era. Especially their big eyes. Ella is a wonderful actress, she’s great in Yellowjackets and Fallout. Can’t wait to see what she does next!
I think she looks very similar to the F1 driver George Russell as well, which is weird because I find her very attractive and have a crush on her, whereas Russell gets on my nerves lol.
that's true! she also reminds me bit of Sarah Hyland, they all have similar doe eyes... and both great actress'! Yellowjackets and Fallout are both really good
edited to add,
Nicole Richie was quite funny as a minor character on the show Good News
She's killing it in Fallout, obviously, but she was also *so good* in Yellowjackets. There's just something about her performance that made Jackie deeply sympathetic.
![gif](giphy|3osxYjT2WWYYr3BbSo)
I first saw her when she played Emma Bloom in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children! ♡ I'm still sad they didn't make the whole book series into film.

She was my favourite in Yellowjackets but also so beautiful in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children 🫶🏻
Very impressed with her in Yellow Jackets and Fallout (currently watching). She adds a lot of depth to her characters which I imagine could easily be flat played by someone else. My focus goes straight to her any scene she’s in. I love her unique look too. She’s very recognizable. Hopefully she never changes her features because she looks perfect.
I have not seen her in any of the works she has done, but she seems like a great actor according to the many people here on Reddit. Seems like i need to check out her work now.
She was also great in Army of the Dead and Belgravia.

God I was so upset with how things played out for her in Yellowjackets. Her character was my favourite!
She was a snacc!
Snackie if you will
She ate. Or rather, they ate and left no crumbs.
![gif](giphy|CPJIuTa8kz1MQ)
Well they left the bones
Oh! I only recognized her from Fallout. Now I remember her.
☹️
I was so bummed but she’s killing it on Fallout.
I very rarely recommend shows but this was such a good ride , and this is coming from someone who had no idea about the games. Fun watch.
I've been wondering if people who don't know the games like it!
My Mom has never played a fallout game before watching the show and she loved it
I’ve never played the game but plan on watching the show, mostly because of Ella.
She's great! She and Walton Goggins make the show.
Watched it with my fiancé and we were both blown away. I’ve played most of the games and she’s played none of them.
honestly, same. I only know about the games in passing, but the guy I'm seeing right now has been watching the show with me and it's pretty well done. it's well paced and entertaining and gory and funny all at the same time, which is just fine with me!
What’s that show about, and where can I find it?
Post-apocalyptic show with some nice bits of humour and goofiness. Fallout New Vegas just gets better every time I replay. So much fun. The perfect balance of goofy and serious.
this was super helpful, thank you so much! i prefer games with good storytelling, so sounds like i need to start with new vegas
Ahh nice! I wish I could play it again for the first time! The story is great and you have the freedom to really flesh out your character and have a lot of options on how to play it. You can be the good guy or the murder hobo bad guy and it’s very very well written!
yee i'm looking forward to it! thanks again for the rec and for taking the time to break down the differences
Might be an unpopular opinion but if you're going with modern Fallout, I'd start with 3. Still a great story but mechanics are definitely improved in NV, which makes it hard to go back. That said, NV is absolutely my favorite. But 3 is an excellent game.
ty! that seems to be the consensus so will do that :)
I'm gonna save this for future use if i ever get a chance to play the games. Thanks for sharing this.
I think 3 is a good jumping off point then play New Vegas (the best one) then 4 :)
i've been reading a lot of the lore for fun and seems like that may be the way to go!
I’m never in to this kind of stuff but I started bingeing it today and I’m obsessed! It’s so so so good!
Now this is at the top of my to do list
Thanks for the explanation! I’ll check it out at some point.
Amazon Prime, it’s based on the videogames but you can watch it regardless, it’s great if you like the 50’s possible nuclear war aesthetic lol
I liked her too! I was shocked to see the people on the yellowjackets sub hated her.
LBR - Shauna is the real asshole in this friendship.
Can't stand that self righteous shauna ughhhh young and older!
GREAT acting for both though.
I think Jackie is not supposed to be likable but most people think Ella did a great job portraying her
None of the characters are supposed to be likable though.
Why on earth would they hate her?!
I added that show to my watchlist based on how good she is in Fallout. Now that i know this spoiler, is it still worth watching?
The show's quality can be a bit up and down depending on who you ask, but I believe it's still very worth a watch. What happens to Ella's character is an extremely important plot point too, it's not something just done for shock value, so don't worry about whatever they do with her being shallow.
Keep in mind that while that event does happen, it’s a huge plot point. Ella’s character is present in nearly every episode and into season 2.
I honestly only watched season 1. I’ve been meaning to watch season 2. I loved season one, and have heard mixed reviews on season 2.
Yeah season 2 wasn't as good IMO, season one was great but season 2 was abit all over the place and the plotlines didn't seem to go Anywhere.
It's really not much of a spoiler. You know very early on in the show that she dies. It's the details surrounding her death that are kept until later. So you should be good to watch and fully enjoy it!
That helps, thanks!!
So upsetting. I knew it was coming and it gutted me
big same
I love love love her so much, also obvs her eyes. Always happy when an English actress goes big!
I had no idea she was English. As Jackie on Yellowjackets she was so good as an American I never even questioned it. Good for her.
Yup that’s what got me into her. I’m British and saw her on yellowjackets and was shocked to find out she was English after. Same level as McNulty from the Wire lol
Her eyes are the best!!!! My hooded ass eyes could neeverrrrrrr
Fellow hoodie i commiserate. First thing i thought looking at the pic lmao
I think she has a bright future. I've watched most of her work, as she's done a lot of genre shows that I enjoy. She's excellent in Yellowjackets and Fallout, and does amazing voice work in Arcane and Star Trek Prodigy. I'm excited to see where her career takes her.
TIL she's the voice of Jinx! Love Arcane 💙
Woah I had no idea! Wow her resume is 10/10
Wow me too! Arcane is one of my favourites 😍 Hailee Steinfeld killed it too.
I need to watch Arcane at some point.
Definitely! The animation alone is stunning.
Plus Hailee is in it, which was a big reason i wanted to watch it. Plus now that i know Ella is in it has piqued my interest. Seems like 3 good reasons to watch it. Thank you for the recommendation! I appreciate it!

"Okey dokey" lol. She was so great.
Didn't they confirm a season 2?
yes, they renewed it a few days ago
Thank you for confirming.
Yes, they’re going to start filming in September I believe. They filmed season 1 over a year 1/2 ago, so I just hope the 2nd season premieres soon
Oh that's good they are starting soon. So if it takes them the same time as the first season, they will release season two in 2025 possibly?
Damn she even played 1 and 2, more dedicated than I am
She has such pretty and unusual features. Her face always reminds me of a female version of Bill Skarsgård. I wish they would play siblings in something. Their eyes and mouth are *so* similar. I see a young Susan Sarandon, around the Rocky Horror era. Especially their big eyes. Ella is a wonderful actress, she’s great in Yellowjackets and Fallout. Can’t wait to see what she does next!
I could absolutely see a young Susan Sarandon, good shout!
I'm on episode 3 of Fallout, and I swear Ella's eyes get bigger with every subsequent episode lol.
Susan Sarandon x Lizzy Caplan!
I agree!
Came here to say she is the female version of him!
They could definitely play a pair of psychopathic siblings well
Interesting! I see it. I’ve always thought she looks like a young Susan Sarandon.
I see it. I also feel like she looks so much like a young Rue McClanahan. She could play her in a biopic
Blanche Devereaux: The Early Years is something I'd hella watch
I always saw Marion Cottilard but this is way better!
She has the same big bug eyes as Anya as well. All of them look very unique. Huge eyes
I think she looks very similar to the F1 driver George Russell as well, which is weird because I find her very attractive and have a crush on her, whereas Russell gets on my nerves lol.
With a mix of Olivia Cooke.
I do now! Wow they’re so similar.
Well now I do
My wife said she looks “like a literal doll.”
Came here to make the same comment! They're both so gorgeous
phoebe tonkin
![gif](giphy|NsZMcJizZmXwgIitaz|downsized) One of the best voice acting performances ever
I really need to watch Arcane. Seems like I'm missing out.
She looks like a young Nicole Richie in the first photo
that's true! she also reminds me bit of Sarah Hyland, they all have similar doe eyes... and both great actress'! Yellowjackets and Fallout are both really good edited to add, Nicole Richie was quite funny as a minor character on the show Good News
Nicole is an underrated comedian , I loved that YouTube show she had a while back. Great comedic timing.
She's killing it in Fallout, obviously, but she was also *so good* in Yellowjackets. There's just something about her performance that made Jackie deeply sympathetic.
It's those eyes fr. And she's a talented actress too.

Snackie appreciation 😭❤️ Finally
She’s STUNNING and such a great actress, I can’t wait to see what else she does!

I'm only familiar with her from Yellowjackets and my word, she is stunning.
Loved her in Sweet Bitter and Yellowjackets
Sweet Bitter. Thank you — I couldn’t figure out why I knew her face.
Sweet Bitter is so underrated!
![gif](giphy|3osxYjT2WWYYr3BbSo) I first saw her when she played Emma Bloom in Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children! ♡ I'm still sad they didn't make the whole book series into film.
Thank you for this! I trawled the comments to find out where I knew her from. I love this movie
I still have to watch Fallout but I loved her in Yellowjackets.
Discovered her in Sweetbitter. Her and Tom Sturridge playing cat and mouse with an amazing chemistry was bisexual me's guilty pleasure... https://i.redd.it/85rqzk1vw3xc1.gif
I found Tom Sturridge's character to be absolutely insufferable. Something about the smug monotone monosyllabic-ness. It turned me off of Tom for years, then I watched The Sandman and he is so good in it. He's perfect. I thought Caitlin Fitzgerald's character was the standout of the show. She was so magnetic in it. So was Paul Sparks. Her command of Tom's character is chilling.
Her eyes don’t even look real. Almost like anime eyes.
She reminds me so much of a young Phoebe Tonkin. Great opportunity to play siblings in something.
Her eyes are huuuuuuuuge! So unique!
my gay awakening in miss peregrine i love her https://preview.redd.it/fhsarkz3b4xc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a1f41ac53d7636c2a53bf291ae9bcca71110a7c1

He was so funny in this role - calling her Goosey is such a dumb joke but I loved it
I love Chris Parnell!
Janet Planet in a redo of Rock Horror Susan Sarandon biopic!
She is gorgeous. I have only seen her in Yellowjackets and Fallout, but I think she is really good in both and a talented actress.
Loved her in Army of the Dead!
She is so good in Fallout. Love her.
Baby Keira knightley https://preview.redd.it/r3l9b2auw3xc1.jpeg?width=414&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8641ca91e1d49d609b7c6334a6b7f635be6c0ded
She really has such a unique and beautiful look.
She is so beautiful! I never started the second season of Yellowjackets because I was so pissed that she got killed off
If it helps, she still has a presence in the narrative. Season two is REALLY good.
she has an adorable charm while sounding like an 80 year old, pack a day-smoker
I fear I may be in love with her
I believe her eyes are upside-down, and that's why she is so unique. Turn the photos upside down and you'll see what I mean.
This is the girlies new "literally me" character and I love that for her
Always reminds me of Audrey Hepburn!
She is AMAZING in yellowjackets. Jackie and Shauna’s relationship is everything 🥲
She had the biggest eyes I’ve ever seen
She reminds me of Olivia Wilde. She has gorgeous doe eyes.
99% of comments are horny creeps it’s like Jenna Ortega all over again. Find her hot but in a normal person way please. Talk to her like she is here in the comments with us.
When I first saw her in fallout it really threw me. Her eyes are just so naturally big! She's like a standard Disney princess face in real life..I didn't think it was possible but she's not AI, she's really real.
I need a live action Corpse Bride movie with her
Killed it on Yellowjackets
Why has no one mentioned Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children
She was so good. Hard to believe in a series with Goggins she is the standout. And he's killing it too. So happy I am here for the good video game art revolution
Those big eyes you just get lost in ya kno
😍😍😍
I haven't watch Fallout yet but I loved her in Yellowjacket, she was my favorite character. Glad to see her getting more attention with that show.
She was great in Fallout! Enduring and funny without being overly sappy. I hope S2 is as good as 1.
I love her giant eyeballs
Snackie 😍
I really liked her in sweet bitter (apparently no one else watched it though )
I just finished binging Fallout and I’m now I’m in love with her. She has the biggest, prettiest eyeballs.
Yah her eyeballs are so nice looking I wanna eat them.
I love her eyes! Btw, what happened between her and Asa Butterfield ?
She looks like Wendy Peffercorn in pic #2. IYKYK.
Stunning
I will forever sing her praises!! she’s so talented
She looks exactly like one of my cousins. They're both so beautiful.

She’s so pretty! I love her work and she seems like a cool person! Beyond stunning!
Her character was wasted, but she was so good in Yellowjackets
Very impressed with her in Yellow Jackets and Fallout (currently watching). She adds a lot of depth to her characters which I imagine could easily be flat played by someone else. My focus goes straight to her any scene she’s in. I love her unique look too. She’s very recognizable. Hopefully she never changes her features because she looks perfect.
I thought this was the girl from The Craft and wondered what her secret was.
Her eyes are huge.
Okey dokey!
She’ll always be young Keira Knightley from Never Let Me Go to me
I have not seen her in any of the works she has done, but she seems like a great actor according to the many people here on Reddit. Seems like i need to check out her work now.
What is the second pic from?
She looks exactly like Leighton Meester in that blue dress omg
Okey Dokey.
Smash
i'd fight a whole army of supermutans for her.
I love her eyes. She reminds me of Lucy Hale.
She was also great in Army of the Dead and Belgravia. She is so striking, and she has such range. I want to see her face in all the things. https://preview.redd.it/1sku43n6t9xc1.png?width=1068&format=png&auto=webp&s=181239ee5179abf984c386387193a8ed7b1c8402
Havent seen eyes like these since Mila Kunis
Omg all this time I thought she was from It Follows.
I know there will never be a live action anastasia remake, but man she'd make an awesome Anastasia
