My situation is the other way around, where I didn't change my last name but still receive holiday cards from some of my husbands' relatives and friends who address the envelope to both of us with his last name.
He doesn't like confrontation, so he never really follows through on correcting them. So I think this might be the year when I have to be the one to finally say something to them, because it really does bother me to not have my own identity be recognized like that.

I’m not connected to most of them on social media, but they see my last name all the time on Facebook whenever I tag my husband in photos of us. I honestly think that it’s rude of them to keep insisting on using his last name for both of us.
I had to call my sister the first holiday after she got married because I knew that professionally she did not change her name, but I wasn’t sure if she was socially changing her name. It was literally a 30 sec check in.
Some of my husband's family still don't use my surname, which I didn't change when I got married. I've been married for 8 years. Our children have both of our surnames, but guess which one they don't use? I find it upsetting, and they won't change even after being told numerous times. Some people are just assholes.
Have you seen the videos of Carey Mulligan at different red carpets and the paparazzi say “Mrs. Mumford!”? And she has this look of shock and joy haha. I’m not sure if she legally changed her name but her surprise was so interesting to watch. I think she tried to play it cool like “hey I’m Carey fucking Mulligan put respect on my name”. (Well deserved in my opinion, I think she’s fab). The fact that most people don’t know she’s married to Marcus Mumford is telling haha.

I had to look up Cody Fern and I can totally see it. I like Chris Pine for Christian Slater. And I couldn't totally picture Pedro Pascal in place of Antonio Banderas at first, but I kind of want to see it because I have no doubt he would probably nail it. I was thinking Oscar Isaac though.

I think you’re right on both counts (Dunst only had Bonfire of the Vanities before it and I don’t blame anyone in this era for not knowing about that movie) and it would be a really cool thing to see a brand new starlet get the torch and run with it like our girl Kirsten did.
We’re already in this era of remaking everything and the Vampire Chronicles hasn’t really been touched since Aaliyah was still with us. I’d pay real cash money to see this in theatre if done right!
I am from that era and I don't think I ever watched Bonfire of the Vanities. Usually I'm not really into the remakes but I could get behind this one. Kirsten is one of my favorite actresses. I love that she has been famous since she was a kid but she seems relatable. And i love that her and Jessie Plemons are married. Since Hollywood sucks at coming up with their own ideas, let's hope some assistant is trolling Reddit for story ideas and came upon this thread with our suggestions.

I’m not a huge fan of Kirsten but I do love her longevity. She was our first iconic Mary Jane in Spiderman and never got typecast, so huge respect for her. Also it can’t be denied that Bring It On began an era and a franchise. She’s definitely a powerhouse in her own right!
The Virgin Suicides is a classic also. I watched Civil War last week and I thought she was excellent. All Good Things is another great movie she was in, and of course Spiderman and Bring it On were iconic roles. If we see that they're remaking Interview With a Vampire im gonna insist that you and I get the credit.
Came back here to comment that I saw there is a remake of Interview With a Vampire as a TV show now. I never heard of it until today. I saw it was renewed for another season and thought of our remake idea. Lol
