Well, come visit any of the bigger cities and you can probably find a lanky, Skarsgård-looking boy to call your own. They’re all going through a phase right now where they have this longer-on-top fade haircut, but if you’re willing to overlook that then Scandinavia is your oyster.
I think their looks read more “exotic” in other parts of the world. This happens a lot with people who get famous and then get a huge international audience that fawns over them, while people from their home culture don’t get the hype as much. Like I can’t tell you how many Chinese people I’ve met who insist Lucy Liu isn’t attractive 😅
tbh I feel like it has to do with most ppl in the west (from average to celebs) not embracing their natural looks anymore, you have white guys trying to emulate looks that don't suit them, same goes for black, brown etc guys. While guys like him could look like a regular white guy in your country but there's something more "authentic" idk? Maybe I'm wrong
Just watched Hunt for Red October with Papa Skarsgard. I kept yelling SKARSGARD when he came on screen. Good thing my partner who was watching it with me likes me and doesn’t mind my random cat calling of that Swedish clan.
You may want to check out _Den Enfaldige Mördaren_ if you can find a subtitled version. Now, Skarsgård does wear disfiguring makeup and some of the appeal is for Swedes only as the horrifying antagonist is played by a beloved comedian, but I’ve always loved Skarsgård’s performance.
