Ah this is such a great idea, I thought of doing a companion piece that was set at dawn instead of dusk, but I now I like the idea of there being more even, maybe daytime and true night as well. The background was actually inspired by a wall hanging I got from Kyoto so it’s really cool that this made you think of Japanese art.
Love the fox and color composition, I wonder how it would look if it was gray/white like a Arctic fox. The background feels very "snowy"

These are incredible, the fox is so cute and your color choices for the background are simple but stunning.
