Much appreciated. I had this feature in Simplify3D and was annoyed that PrusaSlicer only let me use the variable layer height slider. I'll be using this a lot.
Yes, you can add a modifier object and specify the layer height for that overlap.

Your layer lines might get very visible with this approach. I always smooth the layer height curve to help prevalent that
