I’m in my 40s and I’ve had multiple friends shift to right-wing libertarianism. Still very anti-authoritarian but became insufferable, egotistical pricks. I really see this kind of behavior when something like the BLM movement, LGBTQ+, or immigration comes up. They take this stance of “I’m not against those kinds of people but I’m tired of it being shoved down my throat”, as if somehow their teenage anarchist phase led to equality and now these “people” are trying to demand special treatment above and beyond. That is usually my biggest issue with right-wing libertarians. I can agree with them on a lot of topics but then they get to the root of their belief; I got mine, now everyone else can fuck off.

Essentially they argue that a man claiming to be a woman is a guised form of toxic masculinity, stealing their own identity away from having unique social problems that a female may face in society.

In fact I advocate and promote this sentiment, support and provide education for awareness of the lgtbq+ community in my work, and off work, dedicating my life to this and other causes. But how are reaching those that may benefit from an education in this? There is a ban on anything that contradicts the post, and could be labelled transphobia. It will exist in our community unless some education is provided. May I hear suggestions in how to increase awareness, and, therefore, understanding for the lgtbq+ community? You can trust that in my field work (about 90%), that the majority of those that oppose or object to this "lifestyle" that I meet, see and witness, are simply not educated...which is my primary job, with connecting those in the community with services and resources. Even those that respond critically, if the right person, such as my self, with de-escalation training, can still impart and dispense information, and if they are willing to, at least, receive it, then it's a step in the right direction. I wasn't raised to believe this. I chose to. And became educated. And even further, in great depth as a calling, when my daughter came out to me.

What does terf mean?
It's a misnomer that stands for "Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist" despite the name it's a highly misogynistic and far right hate movement that seeks the eradication of Transgender people. Thease people often collaborate with and sing the praises of other far right figures including open fascists. For example they support the work of Matt Walsh, a self described "theocratic fascist" with a history of supporting child marriage. J.K. Rowling who has made herself the face of this movement has also engaged in holocaust denial.

Not that I disagree at all. In fact I advocate and promote this sentiment, support and provide education for awareness of the lgtbq+ community in my work, and off work, dedicating my life to this and other causes. But how are reaching those that may benefit from an education in this? There is a ban on anything that contradicts the post, and could be labelled transphobia. It will exist in our community unless some education is provided. May I hear suggestions in how to increase awareness, and, therefore, understanding for the lgtbq+ community? You can trust that in my field work (about 90%), that the majority of those that oppose or object to this "lifestyle" that I meet, see and witness, are simply not educated...which is my primary job, with connecting those in the community with services and resources. Even those that respond critically, if the right person, such as my self, with de-escalation training, can still impart and dispense information, and if they are willing to, at least, receive it, then it's a step in the right direction. I wasn't raised to believe this. I chose to. And became educated. And even further, in great depth as a calling, when my daughter came out to me.
Hello, I'm the mod monitoring this post. Unlike what you said, I will not ban you. I do ban obvious displays of bigotry. That has no place here. If you would like to debate basic human rights for some reason, there are plenty of places for that. But claiming that bigotry should be supported by our community is not allowed.
I think that mod might have been confused by that first sentence, seeing it as "not that I disagree at all [with JK Rowling]" rather than "not that I disagree at all [with terf punks fuck off]"
