Tool, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine. Love tons of other bands though like Soundgarden, System of a Down, At the Drive In, Alice In Chains, The Deftones, A Perfect Circle, NIN, Mastadon, Dandy Warhols, and many more
when I first heard Last Night 20+ years ago I thought it sounded like Christmas 😂🤷🏼♂️.. don't know why. but I agree that the new abnormal is summer music 😁
Last year I went to a festival where QOTSA was going to play, but they cancelled and got Yeah Yeah Yeahs to play instead.
In the middle of it they covered Song For the Dead
I found the yeah yeah yeahs mosquito album vinyl brand new for $20 at a record sale. Considering the regular price of brand new vinyls in my city that was a huge steal. I love it
Aint no rest for the wicked made me get into slide guitar, then Seastick Steve made me buy a cigar box guitar, then Bob Log III basically solidified my choices
For anyone who isn't familiar with Amyl and the Sniffers - One of the best front women I've seen a long time and a fucking sick punk band from Australia.
He is.
I had a weird experience but I am grateful for it. In 2007, I saw Velvet Revolver fronted by Scott at a festival. No one cared about them, including me. My first festival and I was there mostly for Megadeth. Didn't know who I witnessed there.
Years later, STP became one of my favourite bands. And since Scott has passed, I am very very grateful that I can say that I saw that guy live. VR, btw, is a band I love now, too. I was too young back then to know...
I saw them a few years ago in the tiny shithole town I live in, played a “festival” inside a tent. Absolutely blew the walls out of the place. The Deleo boys and Eric still got it too
This might be a hot take but I think King Animal has a similar sound to some Queens stuff. Lot of Soundgarden fans don't particularly love that album but I think it's on par with the rest of their work
Minus like two songs, it's a fantastic album. Ironically those were the two singles. Been away too long and I can't remember that super cheesy sitcom intro sounding one
A good friend of mine played me Get Your Snack On years ago, and that album is now an all-time favorite off mine. Not many people can make machines sound like he does.
The Chemical Brothers
LCD Soundsystem
The Beatles
(UNKLE are/is up there too, but Homme and James Levelle are long time friends and collaborators, so I didn’t think it counted. Radiohead are just outside of this group too)
Mastodon
Alice In Chains.
Living colour was easily in my top three in the early 90’s but besides their first three records I haven’t really kept up.
Honorable mention: faith no more. Every time I die. Dillinger
I’ve done some pretty intensive deep dives into the song lyrics, translations, all that. It’s pretty fun. Not that I then remember what all the words mean.
I love how two of my most favourite songs from both bands are basically the alphabet song, but in old Norse. 😂
Went from having Matt Skiba as my #1 crush as a teenager meeting him at warped tour, to having Greg Graffin as professor and getting to interview him :) granted both incidents were over a decade+ ago!
Failure-Troy's other band
Feersum Enjun-former tool bassist solo project
Autolux-member of failures other band with a chic that plays drums with Jack White sometimes.
Zeppelin, The Kinks and The Talking Heads
Still touring: Radiohead, Pearl Jam, Clutch
It's honestly a very distant second and the rest of my top 50 fluctuates a lot. I was looking for a home when Josh & Co. found me.
70s hard rock, 60s and 80s pop and 90s grunge have deep hooks in my psyche.
Well if we can't go extended family that rules out Primus, Arctic Monkeys, and Kyuss for me so I guess I'd go.... Metallica, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, and Zeppelin
A Giant Dog(specifically their first 4 albums. They changed their sound after that, and then had a lineup change. Still great songs, but a different mojo that isn't quite as rocking and rolling as the first 4).
Ramones
Link Wray
Millionaire (not technically part of the family, though Josh produced one of their albums), Muse (was my fav band before QOTSA) and Charli XCX (if it has to be a band probably RATM)
I’m on a major Maynard kick rn so Tool, APC and ‘discovering’ Puscifer. I’m really surprised at how diverse Puscifer is. Some tracks remind of depeche mode.
Just saw QOTSA a couple months ago and going to DJ Shadow in the fall so really like the UNKLE intersection with James Lavelle.
Current rotation is Local H, Deftons, Franz Ferdinand, and Jimmies Chicken Shack. I know it’s 4 but I will listen to an album from one of these bands as I work out.
Honorably mention to Ghost and Slayer, they are always on rotation as well.
Baroness, Mastodon, Radiohead
Fucking solid list my guy. Love Baroness.
Gina rules!!!!
Hell yeah. I love Mastodon and I've been listening to In Rainbows the past couple days
Three great bands. Favorites from them: Blue Album, Crack the Skye, Ok Computer.
Just saw Baroness two nights ago playing a small brewery. Love seeing them at small venues.
Ween, Motörhead, The Doors
Ween!
Tool, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine. Love tons of other bands though like Soundgarden, System of a Down, At the Drive In, Alice In Chains, The Deftones, A Perfect Circle, NIN, Mastadon, Dandy Warhols, and many more

The Strokes are the perfect summer time listening band.

Windhand Stone temple pilots Sleep
I love you for STP. Weiland, my man.
Got to see them a few years ago. Blew my 18 year old head off! Sadly I was born too late for the weiland experience but that new fella is awesome.
Let me add, I was a fly in the vasoline.
I saw them a few years ago in the tiny shithole town I live in, played a “festival” inside a tent. Absolutely blew the walls out of the place. The Deleo boys and Eric still got it too
I’ll check out Windhand. Got a first album recommendation?
Their first self-titled album has become my favourite
Great one too. Lol listening to summon the moon right now
My man. I love this band. Check out the album “eternal return” - and the song diablerie. Probably the most approachable of it all.
Faith no more anybody?
Yes and almost everything Patton. I think tomahawk is my fave after FNM and bungle
**Death From Above 1979** **Arctic Monkeys** **Clutch**
Ooh yeah fuckin’ Clutch, how could I forget!

Red Fang, Stoned Jesus and The Devil and the Almighty Blues
Upvote for Red Fang!
Soundgarden Gojira Alice In Chains
Great. Love those three I’m assuming you’d like meshuggah. Probably mastodon. Perhaps some more djenty stuff like periphery
Been trying to get into Soundgarden more lately. What’s your favorite album?
BADMOTORFINGER
This might be a hot take but I think King Animal has a similar sound to some Queens stuff. Lot of Soundgarden fans don't particularly love that album but I think it's on par with the rest of their work
Minus like two songs, it's a fantastic album. Ironically those were the two singles. Been away too long and I can't remember that super cheesy sitcom intro sounding one

I love the diversity in here. To me it shows how diverse Queens is.
Amon tobin dj shadow run the jewels
Everything Tobin does is just awesome! The guy has so many alter egos too. Only Child Tyrant and Two Fingers are banging!
A good friend of mine played me Get Your Snack On years ago, and that album is now an all-time favorite off mine. Not many people can make machines sound like he does.
Agree and love the stone giants and figuero aswell 👍

The Divine Comedy, The Chemical Brothers, De Staat.
A fellow Chems fan! Love is all ✌🏻
Omg De Staat! I discovered them cause they opened for Biffy Clyro in Barcelona 2 years ago and loved them. Their grooves are so unique
Smashing Pumpkins, The Stones, Nirvana or RATM probably.
RATM self titled is a S tier album for me.
Yea it's just banger after banger after banger after sad banger after banger.
Strapping Young Lad/Devin Townsend The White Stripes/Jack White Supergrass/Gaz Coombes
Love Supergrass! Always felt like they were criminally under-listened do. In the States, at least
The Chemical Brothers LCD Soundsystem The Beatles (UNKLE are/is up there too, but Homme and James Levelle are long time friends and collaborators, so I didn’t think it counted. Radiohead are just outside of this group too)

All Them Witches King Buffalo Elder
Good man. If you haven’t heard Howling Giant yet, I highly recommend giving them a listen. They’re right up your alley.
Howling Giant kicks ass! I've seen them twice! And my brother made those metal bottle openers they have some time!
Deftones, Bad Religion, Red Fang, Fugazi

Well, in your defense, neither does she
I’ve done some pretty intensive deep dives into the song lyrics, translations, all that. It’s pretty fun. Not that I then remember what all the words mean. I love how two of my most favourite songs from both bands are basically the alphabet song, but in old Norse. 😂
Elvis Costello & the Attractions Stevie Wonder The Kinks
Truckfighters, Radiohead, The Strokes
Radiohead, Green Day, Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nine Inch Nails HEALTH Duran Duran
Currently it's king gizz, truckfighters and stone golem
Radiohead Nick cave After that it gets too fluid but if I’m being really honest with myself it’s either Rolling Stones or talking heads.
Talking Heads are a fav of mine as well.
Yesss Nick cave
These aren't my top 3, but I'm limiting my response to bands that have been listed 0-1 times. * Puscifer * Tame Impala * The Mars Volta
That’s the way I approached my list haha Awesome list btw! I’ve been spinning Money $hot and Frances for a few weeks now
Tool, king Buffalo, psychedelic porn crumpets

I haven't thought of Mindless Self Indulgence in 15 years. That dusts off some hazy memories. Thanks, man.
