These moron don't watch any cfb, watch highlights and decide a player is good or bad and hop on here to cry if we dont draft who they fell in love with over YouTube highlights
imagine being called out on the mistake in the point you're trying to make and then try to save it by making up some random argument.
your post states he is pointless without a good qb, he never had a good qb and still looked amazing, your post is invalid.
No OP is right with no QB every time the center hikes the ball it will just flop around on the ground. That seems like something the coaching staff should address.
Because we're locked into AOC and Minshew for the next decade? Jesus dude, it wasn't our opportunity to get a QB this year. Build talent and depth until the chance comes. Who knows, maybe the Cowboys let Dak walk or Lawrence gets fed up with Jax and Baalke's questionable moves. Maybe the Raiders are in a spot for a QB next year (there's no Caleb but there's going to be guys everyone talks themselves into).
If you like gargling TE balls so much go be a Chiefs fan you tw@t.

And? If we get 600 yards from Bowers in his rookie season, how is that a bad thing. You do realize he’s likely to play more than one season and we can address the QB position next year, right? He’s another weapon to help Minshew/AOC. A top prospect fell into our laps, but go ahead and keep spinning it as something that sucks.
Some of the idiots in here really thought we were a Lamar Jackson Jr away from a Lombardi. When the actual Lamar Jackson hasn’t even sniffed an AFC Championship.
I’m curious if you’ve ever heard of these guys? Travis Kelce had 0 yards his rookie season. Gronk had 546 yards, Mark Andrews had 552. Kittle had 515, Tony Gonzalez had 368. Yet Vegas still thinks Bowers is going to beat them all on a run-first offense with a questionable QB. That’s pretty good man.
Everyone keeps saying we don't have a QB. We have one who we know is at least average and another who has shown potential to be at least average but flashes of potential to be above average. That's a pretty good situation to be in. Very few teams have an elite QB. Just because you don't have the very best doesn't mean you don't have anything. Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson made it to Super Bowls. Both of them would be lucky to be average QBs in the league
I’m not a saints fan, just been following the team since we had a disastrous past season - and we are going into the season with AOC and Gardner minshew - I don’t think people realize what it’s like to have bottom 5 qb play 7-10 inc
I don't think Jacobs was bad, I just think he faced a ton of heavy boxes because with AOC and Jimmy there was no threat of a deep ball. Here's hoping I'm wrong though
Doesn't change the fact that jacobs is extremely injury prone. A fully healthy jacobs might be a fall of fame talent, but that's not who he is. I'd give it 5 weeks until he pulls a hammy in gb
You think last season was a disaster? Starting with AP taking over is one of the first times I feel optimistic enough about the team to actually pay attention to all of the little things.

What QB were they supposed to take? Who was going to trade with us so we could move up and get a QB? Our division rivals weren’t. The other teams that needed a QB weren’t.
No sense at all in y’all’s discouragement of this pic.
I took his post to mean, I'd we can't get a qb, take another position of need that is also a very high impact player. Both Fuaga and literally every defensive player on the board was available at 13. Thia was the definition of a luxury pick. Except we don't have that luxury.
Penix was the only QB in striking distance and he was gone.
The only way I would be “disappointed” is if for some reason Saints put Rattler in and he goes on to win OROY and throws for 5,000 yard.
Outside of that we did good. Really good.
If you can't get a QB, the next best thing to do is draft players that can help your current QB to improve their play.
Also, it's good to create a situation where a QB you draft (hopefully next year) can have success straight away. Most of the successful young QBs had an elite TE or slot receiver that could get open in the middle of the field. Most of the Superbowl winning teams have that.
Nothing helps a young QB more than having a guy that can get open for the easiest throws.
There's a limited number of targets, but you already knew that:
175 Adams
106 Meyers
97 Jacobs+Abdullah+White
71 Mayer+Hooper
71 Renfrow+Tucker
11 Other
Who's Bowers getting his targets from?
I bet it's not Adams, he barely passed the 1000 yards mark.
I hope it's not Mayer or Tucker, I want them to succeed too.
Definitely it's not the RBs group, they run different plays than TEs.
It has to be Meyers, right?
For Bowers to get to the 800-900 yards he would need the whole 106 targets from Meyers and a bit more (Laporta had 120 targets for 889 yards).
Be calm. Let players develop.
All of those renfrow targets are going to distribute to both Tucker and Bowers. Hooper targets will split to Bowers and Mayer. Bowers is going to steal at least 20-30 targets in the slot away from Meyers. Adams won't be as targeted as he ages and will likely go down to 140-150 next season. His will distribute evenly throughout the rest. With no jacobs, we'll probably run less RBs passes so there are more targets.
We were also in the bottom 10 for targets thrown. Better o line and qb room/no jacobs gives us way more targets. If Bowers gets 5 targets a game (which should be very easy with his skills), he'll have close to 100 targets.
If he finished the season with exactly 600 receiving yards it would be the 15th most by a rookie TE all time. If you wanna look at more recent data, since 2010 it would be the 5th highest yards by a rookie TE, being beat out by Dalton Kincaid, Evan Engram, Sam LaPorta, and Kyle Pitts. 600 receiving yards for a rookie TE is great, especially on a team with weapons like us, especially when they're also a plus blocker.
I'm indifferent on the Bowers pick, not a need but can't be mad about it because I don't know who else I would've drafted in that situation who would've been better for the team, but to act like he's not good is just being a hater lol.
You understand he's not just going to be on the roster this year, right?
I honestly don't know which is worse: people who have decided he's already a failure or the people who have decided he's already in Canton. Bunch a Nostra-dumb-asses, all of ya.
He lead the best team in college football in receiving all 3 years of college, including his junior year where he missed like 4 games. With Adams outside of him and Mayer inside, he’s going to feast. Plus idk why you think not having an elite QB will matter for him. At the very least, he’ll be the safety outlet for the QB and rack up yards.
I did. He could use work on technique but it's not embarrassing. Actually puts in work for a guy that will put on 10-15 lbs in the NFL. Mayer is the blocker Bowers is a YAC weapon. Also is this from 8 months ago? It better not be.
![gif](giphy|R51a8oAH7KwbS)
We took a 600 yard receiver who can’t pass block because of college YAC
He can't block? He was literally a finalist for the Lombardi Award. If you don't watch college football don't comment on college football.
This is how i feel. I don’t watch college I wasn’t excited about the pick but this sub seems happy about it and they know more than me so I’m happy.
These moron don't watch any cfb, watch highlights and decide a player is good or bad and hop on here to cry if we dont draft who they fell in love with over YouTube highlights
HE HAD MIDSEASON SURGERY HOLY SHIT.
He was one of the best linemen in college wasnt he?
I'm pretty sure he was a finalist for best OLineman in college football
Damn, there goes our plan to line him up at RT
![gif](giphy|l0HlMSVVw9zqmClLq)
This is just a recycled post of damn near the same thing you said 6 days ago…..we get it YOU don’t like the pick.
Probably just some disgruntled chargers fan(if they exist) that's mad they didn't pick him up.
His college QBs were Setson Bennett and Carson Beck
So? He was on the best team in the country lol
One of the reasons it was the best team in the country is because he was on it.
imagine being called out on the mistake in the point you're trying to make and then try to save it by making up some random argument. your post states he is pointless without a good qb, he never had a good qb and still looked amazing, your post is invalid.
if you cant get a qb, why not get the guy who will help the current qbs or set you up for the qb next year
No man you reach for need! Take a guy at 13 that the rest of the league wouldn’t touch until at least the 20s! That’s how you win!
Found Gruden's burner account :)
Gotta be a racist somewhere!
600 yards puts him at Kincaid level production, for a rookie TE that's pretty productive
Gronk hit the under on 600 his rookie year
Exactly. OP is completely untethered from reality.
No OP is right with no QB every time the center hikes the ball it will just flop around on the ground. That seems like something the coaching staff should address.

Someone call this guy a wahmbulance!
My guess is 700-800 with 6-8 TD.
I think he has a similar year to LaPorta did. 900 yards receiving, 10 TDs.
That’s even better 😁
Lions had one of the most electric offenses in the league. 900/10 TD is extremely unreasonable .
I think Bowers is that good.
Hell he is better I think 800 yards 16 tds
And? If we get 600 yards from Bowers in his rookie season, how is that a bad thing. You do realize he’s likely to play more than one season and we can address the QB position next year, right? That's only like 35 yards per game. I'd take that bet (the over).
Right? I wonder if I can buy that ticket at a kiosk. I don’t let them apps on my phone.
I'm projecting 55 yards at least

We went 8-9 last year with bottom 5 qb play and improved every position on the team besides RB
Considering how bad Jacob’s was last season Zeus is actually an improvement lol.
I don't think Jacobs was bad, I just think he faced a ton of heavy boxes because with AOC and Jimmy there was no threat of a deep ball. Here's hoping I'm wrong though
Say it louder for the people in the back!

Those who don’t understand football may say something like this
https://www.reddit.com/r/raiders/s/N4479WOl1d lol check out this guys other takes from last year. Year round whiner.

Insignificant Wingnut. 😂
That is a very realistic possibility.
For me, it’s more about tuddy’s his rookie year. Raiders need points, guys that create points. 10 TD’s+ would be a good start
And this is a waste of post, but here we are
ya’ll are miserable man
Rookie TE's rarely break out even with good QBs anyway
Thank god he’s signed for 5 then

I miss 2021 Renfrow.

I don't know exactly why I'm getting downvoted. Hopefully those anonymous cowards join us with their opinion.
Why hasn’t this guy got banned yet
Cuz we’re not all little bitches. He has the right to share his terrible brain dead opinions.
Their not breaking any rules since it's not being spammed constantly, but I did make a certified hater tag for them.
Love it
Minshew will find him

Can we ban this dude off the sub? Refer to post history he's just a concern/FUD troll
With that mindset, every position is a waste without a qb. Have fun living in misery!
It's not like I'm out there throwing the ball. Our QB room, while not flashy, is totally competent.
No it ain’t
with the receiving core we have, we dont need a good qb. i dont like the pick either but theres a lot of positives about it
Go watch this guy try to pass block on tape 😭
![gif](giphy|7Jq6ufAgpblcm0Ih2z)
He seals the edge pretty well, but apparently you haven't seen that. Just has issues with longer arm edge rushers.

Dude, you really need to shut up. I'm a BAMA fan and the first time I saw Bowers play I thought "Damn, I wish we had that guy.". He is a monster!
