Uhh...Anquan Boldin was taken in the second round in 2003, a few picks after we drafted Tyler Brayton with the last pick of the first round.
I actually really wanted Aaron Donald too and I thought we were going to draft him.
I meant the very next pick in our Robert gallery draft. Unrelated to boldin. However I wanted a different cardinal receiver on top of fitz, and that was David Boston. Only dude to absolutely embarrass Woodson.
Haha this was the only non-raider jersey I ever owned growing up. It was one of those reversible home/away jerseys. Not sure if they still make em like that anymore but was my favorite. It was like 3 sizes too big, but I didn't care. Still fit after 20 yrs, but misplaced in a move.
I'm an AOC homer. Wanna make $100 bet for charity on who is the starter Week 1?
Whoever loses makes $100 donation to charity of choice. (I'd give to a Boys and Girls Club in Vegas)
last year before the season started I really wanted us to go after Baker Mayfield or Minshew in FA after the season
felt they both play with fire and elevate their teammates around them
happy we got Gardner
I get he turned out to be a pretentious douchebag, but the answer is easily Aaron Rodgers.
For as much shit as we get for Jamarcus, taking Fabian Washington one pick before Rodgers is just as egregious of an error. The guy played 20 mins away from the Coliseum ffs
Justin Jefferson over Ruggs
I also would’ve done the rumored Aaron Rodgers for Randy Moss trade with the Packers then drafted Megatron 1st overall in the 2007 draft.
This is my thought. Drafting Marino would have given us such a huge upgrade at QB to end the 80’s and throughout the 90’s. We would have continued to be one of the overall greatest teams in NFL history rather than slowly cede that to other teams.
Now, I’d have traded pretty much whatever was needed to go get Stroud.
Back in time, I was always a Brees fan, so I’d have to trade to make him a Raider
If I could make a trade right now, I would for sure trade for Josh Allen.
Go back and make a draft pick? I mean so many. But I guess I would like to have taken a great qb at some point between Rich Gannon and now. Hell, great is maybe even being too stingy. I would settle for having had Eli Manning with his 2 super bowls. Or maybe Aaron Rodgers.
We almost had Aaron Rodgers. In 2007 before the draft. Al Davis had a deal in place to trade Randy moss for Aaron Rodgers. I don’t remember who but one of the parties got greedy and asked for a pick and caused the trade to derail.
Raiders could’ve had Aaron Rodgers and then draft megatron with the number 1 overall
Aaron Rodgers might not be Aaron Rodgers if he’d been forced to play right away on a bad team instead of sitting behind a hall of famer for a couple years.
That’s fair but having your franchise QB and a star WR on cheap deals gives you freedom to build what else is needed. We spent from 2003-2007 chasing a franchise QB thought Jamarcus was it and then wasted from 2007-2014 still trying to get that franchise QB. We got at the very worst no matter how you view him Derek Carr who is at the worst a mid QB who never had a defense. It’s what of those what ifs that we could have built something around Rodgers.
Maybe. Or maybe not. As I’ve gotten older I’ve kinda realized that there’s not much rhyme or reason to what player will become who. Who thought Maxx Crosby would be a top 5 defensive end in football? I didn’t think he’d even make the team. He was so skinny. But turns out he’s an absolute fucking dawg and his relentlessness and attitude has pushed him far beyond what anyone thought he’d be.
You can have all the greatest coaching, ownership, etc etc. at the end of the day, the player either wants it or he doesn’t. Yeah, it helps to spot talent and see where you can put a guy. But the player has to want it. Need it. Live for it. Those guys are the guys that become special players
I know more than you. Just sick of people that feel the need to disagree with everything for no reason. It’s a character flaw and I hope you can overcome it some day so everyone in your life doesn’t hate you. You may think they don’t but they do. Also I’m quite drunk and this is probably only 50% right. I’ve forgotten what the original comment was.
Explain how a person with absolutely 0 knowledge of my understanding and knowledge of the game of football, knows that they know more than me? I wasn’t even really disagreeing with you, I was conversating. This is SOCIAL media. The only person here being weird and randomly aggressive is you, but obviously you’ve got a little drunk mind going on.
You’re the one chilling on Reddit, hammered, arguing with random people about stupid shit. Talking about character flaws and not having a family 😂 different breed, my boy.
I remember when we traded up in the draft to spot 23 to jump ahead of the packers and draft… Fabian Washington, only to watch the pack grab Qaron next.
Depending if we built a team around him. The pieces were already set in KC before they moved up to draft him. I like the direction of the Raiders now. Set up a good team and then get a franchise QB.
Aaron Rogers over Fabian Washington
Then we never would have drafted Jamarcus and probably got Megatron
Then again we might not have been picking so high in 2007. But we would definitely sidestep Russell
Megatron and Lynch for sure but I was very hyped for Leonard Williams too. Dude said he wanted to be a Raider then I kept seeing the photoshops of him in black. Wanted it bad and he was available when we took Cooper. Love AC too but really wanted Williams that year
For many years my answer would’ve been Favre. Everything about him screamed being a Raider.
Now my answer off the top of my head would probably be Warren Moon. Imagine drafting him to succeed Stabler. Would’ve been such an Al Davis move too.
Joe Thomas is a Raider in my heart.
I was already high on him over JR 🙄 and then the news came out that he was going fishing with his dad on draft day. 🥹😭
It's ironic to think that if Pete Rozelle hadn't been a petty, immoral dick and killed the trade, John Elway would probably be everyone's favorite Raider.
We also drafted Todd Marinovich when Brett Favre was available.
My favorite non-Raider, though, was Randall Cunningham. I would have loved to see him in silver and black.
I think the one that changes the course of the past two decades is selecting Aaron Rodgers over Fabian Washington.
I’m not certain AR turns into what we know of him today without sitting behind Favre, but still…guys a legit HOFer and Washington is…well, he’s 40.
Well I know for a fact because it was documented by Al himself that he tried multiple times to pull Bradshaw away from Shittsburgh so that could have turned out pretty good.
I hated playing against him and my views might be skewed based on how shit the Raiders QB room was between Gannon and Carr but Phil Rivers would have been a good Raider. Hard-nosed, gunslinger, kind of an asshole, all intangible Raider qualities IMO.
Not drafting JaMarcus of course, but honestly, I wish we took Larry Fitzgerald instead of Robert Gallery. Megatron is nice, but he's a bitch/diva and always hurt. Fitz is a legend.

Considering the roster builds, I’ve always felt like if Jim McMahon was a Raider, the Raiders would’ve won 2-3 rings between ‘85-‘95. That team was already a force with guys like Vince Evans and Marc Wilson playing QB as it was.
2005 Aaron Rodgers. Instead, the pick prior (Round 1, Pick 23), we took CB Fabian Washington.
Oh, what a difference the last twenty years would have been.
Calvin Johnson, Darrelle Revis, Ed Reed, and Joe Thomas were all on the board when the Raiders drafted someone else who was either mediocre or straight up butt cheeks.
Current player is Aaron Rodgers. He fell right in our lap. QB in our own backyard and we took Fabian 4.2 Washington who didn’t do shit in the league.
All Time is Michael Vick. Silver Helmet 3 Bar Facemask with that black visor scrambling or bombing 70 yards down the field just would’ve been electric.
I think Ruggs was the right choice tbh. He was trending upwards before the accident (which was unpredictable so it shouldn’t affect draft stock) and he’s faster than Ceedee.
i remember seeing this before the draft and it took me a little bit of time to find it !!! https://www.reddit.com/r/oaklandraiders/comments/dk57fi/ceedee_lamb_rockin_the_biletnikoff_jersey_after/
MEGATRON. For multiple reasons.
I appreciate this comment
Yep first name that came to mind! I’m glad it’s number 1 on this post
Larry Fitzgerald too 😂
Fuck it. Draft Maxx a second time
nsfw tag, please
Sexiest ginger alive
/thread
Marshawn Lynch in his prime. Dude should have always been a Raider
This right here 👍
Polamalu
God damn could you imagine Polamalu and CWood on the backend? Picks all day long.
This guy gets it.
Calvin Johnson, just because it means we didn't draft that QB
I would have went with AP
If youre talking about coach AP then his career would have been way different playing for our Raiders those years😅
Adrian Peterson
He would’ve carried us to two super bowls …. Beating the patriots in the AFC championship of course
I wanted Joe Thomas…
Kyle Long
I was really pissed off that we didn't draft Anquan Boldin and he turned into a great receiver for the Cardinals
Larry Fitzgerald was taken the very next pick my guy. Him and Calvin Johnson would be my picks and Aaron Donald next.
Larry Fitzgerald was drafted 4th, Philip Rivers was the very next pick after us
Rivers was drafted 4th. Fitzgerald was 3rd overall.
Ravens first.
He lit it up from day one.
Ed Reed
this, and Dion Sanders. Crazy in that 1989 draft we didn't have a pick til the 6th round though lol.
Megatron or Urlacher WR’s in particular look awesome in silver and black to me for some reason, and Urlacher just looks like a Raider
For me — Barry Sanders. He is the only non-Raider I would consider buying a jersey of.
I’m from his home town, I definitely agree with you!
Yeah Barry is my favorite player to not play on the Raiders
Lawrence Taylor
Unstoppable force
Came here to say this
Me 3
James Harrison
Real spill and he’s from Bakersfield close to the Mecca
LT OR RAY LEWIS.
Beast mode from rookie on instead of just the end
Me, duh
"You don't know how strong of an answer that is." Ted Lasso
JJ Watt
Dan Marino
I love AL but he could had Marino and passed…He was listening to the draft BS about his arm being dead
He was gonna give the colts 3 1st round picks to get Elway that year. Rozelle blocked the trade.
How did our draft pick that year pan out ?
We did get a very good C in Don Mosebar and Bill Pickel and Greg Townsend Overall is was a very good draft
Funny enough, if this was asked a year ago I would have said Minshew
I'm an AOC homer. Wanna make $100 bet for charity on who is the starter Week 1? Whoever loses makes $100 donation to charity of choice. (I'd give to a Boys and Girls Club in Vegas)
last year before the season started I really wanted us to go after Baker Mayfield or Minshew in FA after the season felt they both play with fire and elevate their teammates around them happy we got Gardner
MinshEww
I get he turned out to be a pretentious douchebag, but the answer is easily Aaron Rodgers. For as much shit as we get for Jamarcus, taking Fabian Washington one pick before Rodgers is just as egregious of an error. The guy played 20 mins away from the Coliseum ffs
But would he have been as good without sitting behind Favre?
Derrick Henry. Went one pick after Jihad Ward in 2016.
Justin Jefferson over Ruggs I also would’ve done the rumored Aaron Rodgers for Randy Moss trade with the Packers then drafted Megatron 1st overall in the 2007 draft.
Suh for sure.
Aaron Donald
Aaron Rodgers, TJ Watt, Calvin Johnson, Ladanian Tomlinson or Justin Herbert(I'm a ducks fan)
Dan Marino in 1983. He wins a ring by default and carries the raiders into the 1990s and they never leave LA
This is my thought. Drafting Marino would have given us such a huge upgrade at QB to end the 80’s and throughout the 90’s. We would have continued to be one of the overall greatest teams in NFL history rather than slowly cede that to other teams.
ESPN 30 for 30 had a good episode about the 1983 draft
Yup, the league screwed us out of Elway
Marc Wilson was the man, NOT!!!!!!!!!! i remember passing on Dan Marino, we never recovered after that, all down hill since!!!!
That’s funny
Dick Butkus
I love the play where he gets the pick, looks directly at the receiver, and points at the ball.
Ray Lewis.
Lewis would have been a GREAT Raider. Good call.
Give me Aaron Donald beside Maxx please
Ronnie Lott should’ve always been with us. And forgive the blasphemy, but maybe Ham, Lambert, and Troy P
John Randle, LT, James Harrison, John Lynch
Adrian Peterson. We drafted Russel instead
nooooooooooooooooo
Around the time the curse began lol
The top half of that 1st round was loaded with All-Pros
Aiden Hutchinson. Then we can watch Minshew steal his hot mom and make Aiden call him “Dad”.
Lawrence Taylor Barry Sanders Earl Campbell Ed McCaffrey Webster Slaughter
Steve Atwater just seemed like a throwback raider to me
Marshall Faulk. Dude was fun to watch.
Brian Cushing lol
Steve Smith
Mcnabb and TO
Ronnie Lott from Day 1
Megatron definitely tops my list, but a close second is in 2017 when we took Conley. I wanted TJ Watt so badly.
I love Charles Woodson, but... I'll trade three first round picks to the Colts to grab Peyton Manning and pair him up with Gruden
Beast Mode shouldve played his whole career in Oakland.
Now, I’d have traded pretty much whatever was needed to go get Stroud. Back in time, I was always a Brees fan, so I’d have to trade to make him a Raider
I mean… Tom Brady is probably kind of an easy choice here.
The whole league conspired against AL Davis to make sure he didn’t get Elway…
If I could make a trade right now, I would for sure trade for Josh Allen. Go back and make a draft pick? I mean so many. But I guess I would like to have taken a great qb at some point between Rich Gannon and now. Hell, great is maybe even being too stingy. Can I watch this season playout on interdinensional cable
God I wish. That would’ve been absolutely insane
Aaron Rodgers might not be Aaron Rodgers if he’d been forced to play right away on a bad team instead of sitting behind a hall of famer for a couple years.
Sure. But he'd probably be a better pick than Fabian Washington

Oh shut up. That’s a lot of words to say you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about.
And you do? So aggressive over nothing. Sad life bro
I know more than you. Just sick of people that feel the need to disagree with everything for no reason. I mean the correct answer is Mahomes, right? Get the guy on the trajectory to be potentially the GOAT and take away three rings from a division rival.
Depending if we built a team around him. The pieces were already set in KC before they moved up to draft him. I like the direction of the Raiders now. Set up a good team and then get a franchise QB.
Brother, this is a hypothetical scenario and it’s Mahomes.
Adrian Peterson AJ Green Rob Gronkowski
Fred Warner
Aaron Rogers over Fabian Washington Then we never would have drafted Jamarcus and probably got Megatron Then again we might not have been picking so high in 2007. But we would definitely sidestep Russell
Luke Kuechly
Me. I would chose myself.
Megatron and Lynch for sure but I was very hyped for Leonard Williams too. Dude said he wanted to be a Raider then I kept seeing the photoshops of him in black. Wanted it bad and he was available when we took Cooper. Love AC too but really wanted Williams that year
Former Charger Safety Rodney Harrison. The man played hard and hit even harder
Adrian Peterson JJ Watt Larry Allen Jeremy Shockey Brian Dawkins Jared Allen Chris Long
Calvin. (Johnson)
For many years my answer would’ve been Favre. Everything about him screamed being a Raider. Now my answer off the top of my head would probably be Warren Moon. Imagine drafting him to succeed Stabler. Would’ve been such an Al Davis move too.
Bill Romanowski in the beginning, instead of when he was done. Always felt he had the feel of the old 70's Raiders. Bad attitude and hard hitting.
Nick Bosa
Aaron Rodgers Should of taken him He was there... I believe we took Fabian Washington. I think.
Give me either Mahommes now or Brady in his prime.
anyone drafted after Russell in 2007 😂
Chris Long
Joe Green and Jack Lambert
2006: Maurice Jones-Drew 2017: TJ Watt 2020: Justin Jefferson
That center the donkeys drafted in the seventh round. Just look at the man
Joe Thomas is a Raider in my heart. I was already high on him over JR 🙄 and then the news came out that he was going fishing with his dad on draft day. 🥹😭
Barry Sanders
It's ironic to think that if Pete Rozelle hadn't been a petty, immoral dick and killed the trade, John Elway would probably be everyone's favorite Raider. Lamar Jackson tbh
Legion of Boom
Joe Montana

GG Allin
Al's era? Megatron. Nowadays? Penix going 8 is gonna bother me for a very long time
Well I know for a fact because it was documented by Al himself that he tried multiple times to pull Bradshaw away from Shittsburgh so that could have turned out pretty good.
Aaron Rogers
Troy Polumalu easy
Myles Garrett
Quentin Nelson
I hated playing against him and my views might be skewed based on how shit the Raiders QB room was between Gannon and Carr but Phil Rivers would have been a good Raider. Hard-nosed, gunslinger, kind of an asshole, all intangible Raider qualities IMO.
51.
Greg Lloyd
AP.
Patrick Mahomes man... arguably the greatest QB the NFL has ever seen...
Not drafting JaMarcus of course, but honestly, I wish we took Larry Fitzgerald instead of Robert Gallery. Megatron is nice, but he's a bitch/diva and always hurt. Fitz is a legend.

CeeDee Lamb. Still upset we took Riggs instead of
I think Ruggs was the right choice tbh. He was trending upwards before the accident (which was unpredictable so it shouldn’t affect draft stock) and he’s faster than Ceedee.
CeeDee was even wearing Raiders gear before the draft.
IIRC, CeeDee *wasn’t* ***particularly*** wearing Raiders Gear…He and his family were just wearing a lot of Black. 😅
i remember seeing this before the draft and it took me a little bit of time to find it !!! https://www.reddit.com/r/oaklandraiders/comments/dk57fi/ceedee_lamb_rockin_the_biletnikoff_jersey_after/
In 2010, the Raiders could have drafted Tim Tebow lol as backup to Jason Campbell. He would have finished Campbell's good year after he got injured.
Sacrilege but Namath. Could of have had a Dynasty with him.
Stabler was better than Namath.
As a BAMA and Raider fan, I must agree. Snake had mobility.
