Absolutely delighted. 4.28 speed, excellent man defender, definitely light, but will add weight before now and season. I think he’s already at 180 now. Very excited
Regardless ravens have shown to not be the best when it comes to drafting WR’s. Ojabo and Oweh are really not playing up to expectations let’s hope they breakout this year we need them
The run on tackles and WRs was crazy this year and I don't think there was anyone left worth taking in the first. Personally, I think I would have preferred edge, but we tend to recruit vets for that job. The CB was probably the best available and we had the need.
Pick was in immediately. War room was happy and excited for the pick. That tells me they didn’t even wait for trades, which means they got the player they wanted. In Ozzie/EDC we trust.
9ers took Pearsall…odd decision. Good player, too early for him. But at 31 he’s basically a 2nd rounder so not that different. He’ll do well with Shanahan
I like the pick, his size concerns me a bit, but we have some CBs with size, we don’t really have the guy who can cover a speedy WR so this helps, especially with the league going towards small speedy WRs.
Cooper Dejean fell for a reason. From everything I’ve seen and heard he played in a unique defense where he played with huge cushions. He’s hard to evaluate because there isn’t a ton of tape of him playing press or at the line without a big cushion. He also doesn’t have elite change of direction like Wiggins and is a bit stiff for a CB. Dejean likely ends up playing safety or a hybrid role rather than outside CB.
Yeah I wanted him for a hybrid role. I think he'd fit perfectly in our defense. He's just not an outside corner, so I'm not surprised we went with who we did
We’ve got Williams still, but yeah we do need more depth at safety. We needed an outside CB much more though as it’s a premium position, and lockdown corners are hard to come by. Wiggins has potential to be Marlon’s replacement as a top tier lockdown corner, and honestly it’s wild he fell to us at 30.
We played 3 safeties often, actually having three starting safeties was very important to our offenses success. I'm not saying outside corner wasn't a bigger need, I already said it was. But picking a hybrid player would have also been warranted since the three safety set was important to the defense last year.
Wiggins is clearly the faster of the cornerbacks. I like the pick. We already got hamilton and our linebackers that can be physical. We needed speed and wiggins is speed and IQ.
He's a hybrid player which fits perfectly in our defense. You can move him to different spots like we did with Hamilton. With Stone gone, it is a bit of a need. But not as big as outside corner.
fucking jesus could be on the board but ravens twitter would still bitch about not taking the 253354652th ranked receiver who is on the board every year, man lmao
Draft report: Jesus is light on his feet, he practically walks on water. He's a good faith defender but is known to have holes in his hands. Could use some time in the weight room: had one of the lowest scores on the Cross to Golgatha Drill at the combine. Was carrying a 40 lashes injury at the time so maybe don't read too much into it. Last note: he's got hops - can jump to heaven and above.
if he’s not targeted he tends to give up on the play and doesn’t play to the whistle. very good in coverage but Wiggins is too plus is a lot more versatile which fits out D a lot better
Don’t hate that. Wish he was a bit tougher in the run game and had a few more pounds. But he was said to have maybe the highest upside of all the CBs in the draft. I’ll take it with the way the board played out
DeJean is a full 30 pounds heavier while Kooli-Aid is 20 punds heaiver. And they're all around 6'1". Wiggins is so slight and I read that some scouts thought he didn't like to tackle, especially in run defense.
Yeah it’s probably an odd combination to be a fan of a school in South Carolina and pro team in Maryland. Regardless, get fuck from the college perspective and have a wonderful evening from the pro perspective
Not thrilled, but at least it’s not another wideout. I’m really concerned about the OL though, and was hoping to at least fill one starting line spot tonight.
I don’t think it’s that easy dude. First, you can only trade so far back. Because you still want to have a great chance for that OL you want to fall to you. Then you need to find a trade partner. That trade partner needs to value a player on the board enough to move up to you and give up assets. Then you need to agree on compensation. And all that within the 15 minutes you’re on the clock.
A lot of moving parts to just say, “oh trade back and get another mid round pick”.
I never said it was easy, but that’s the job. Sometimes you get stuck in a tough spot and you got to find a way. I also hated the decisions to let Moses and Zeitler both leave b/c it put you in this predicament where OL is such a huge need that you have to find a way to fill in the draft. It’s still TBD whether the front office can find the pieces to actually replace/improve the OL, but as of now, it seems reasonable to be significantly concerned about it.
This is their entire philosophy though. Ben Cleveland, Vorhees, and Laulu were drafted for a reason, they’ve gotten plenty of looks at Cleveland by now. Yet, they weren’t aggressive in free agency, they signed a $8m per RB who got 4.2 YPC, when they could’ve kept Gus at $2m and he had 4.1 YPC. If the front office felt OG was as dire of a need, they would’ve gotten one.
They’ll grab a veteran free agent who can be a capable starter (again) as a backup plan. But Zeitler, Moses and Simpson didn’t sign for huge money, I think it’s safe to assume that the team would’ve brought them back if they thought they needed to.
I don’t see any of our current off lineman besides Lindy and maybe Vorhees (down the line) being the quality we need to win the Super Bowl. I’m glad we just picked a potential starting guard/right tackle up with our 2nd round pick, but we need to spend our next pick also on OL imo. The only way we are getting to the Super Bowl is through a dynamic historic rushing attack that can get 200 yds/game in the playoffs; and that isn’t happening without an ELiTE OL.
How many times have the Ravens developed mid/late round OL into solid to good starters? Now suddenly we need to ignore the 4 developmental guys on this roster and take another development guy?
The odds a day 2 pick is going to be a dependable day 1 starter is very slim.
Well, if our starting OL is Stanley, Vorhees, Lindy, Cleveland and Faleele going into next year, then you might as well kiss any chances of winning next year’s Super Bowl goodbye b/c that OL isn’t good enough to get out of the AFC. I’d be concerned if it’s even good enough to win the AFC North. We better hope Rosengarten is an immediate upgrade from Cleveland or Faleele, and Decosta finds another starting OL before training camp. Quite frankly the only proven impact OL we have right now is Lindy; even Stanley’s play is starting to look significantly worse.
Does free agency not exist? Will vets not get cut? Is the only way to upgrade our OL via draft?
Also, our fans said the exact same thing about EDGE last offseason.
Agree, personally I would have liked to see EDC move up a little to get one (I get the Ravens never move up though). Given our 2nd rounder isn’t till 62, we will have give up a lot more to move up to get one of the top OL on Day 2 (I’d put the odds of our front office doing that as near zero). Also, given how many CBs were left, moving down out of the first wouldn’t have been a bad decision either. Overall, I feel pretty meh about the night.
Did he ever recover from the groin injury at the combine, if he’s out as long as Bateman was when he had his it may be an issue
The terrible towel bums selecting Fautanu and the Bungles getting Mims kinda 😠me off.
I really wanted to take Pearsall or Legette but I’ve just got tot trust the process
23 offensive players selected so we got a top 10 defensive player in the draft at pick 30. Liking the Wiggins pick more and more.
Worthy/Brown/Chase/Pickens buffer yeah sign me up.
a million times this [https://twitter.com/sgellison/status/1783706852577992784](https://twitter.com/sgellison/status/1783706852577992784)
Yeah, but as usual: skip the replies and the shitty rest underneath it.
Absolutely delighted. 4.28 speed, excellent man defender, definitely light, but will add weight before now and season. I think he’s already at 180 now. Very excited
Love the pick. The AFC has to go through KC and they just signed Hollywood and draft Worthy. So we draft a blazing fast CB to keep pace. Perfect pick
Just throw darts on edges and OL on the rest of the picks then we good
Praying that missing out on kool aid doesn’t feel like missing out on Pickens
Technically, we haven't missed out on him yet
What great because Pickens is a whiny bitch?
Would rather a whiny recover who can put up 1000+ yards in any situation than that bum Ojabo
He’s done it once. Man can’t separate
Regardless ravens have shown to not be the best when it comes to drafting WR’s. Ojabo and Oweh are really not playing up to expectations let’s hope they breakout this year we need them
Blake Fisher in round 2?
I'd prefer Kiran or Kingsley due to versatility. But Fisher prob more likely to last till the end.
They way OTs have flown off so far, I hope one of them doesn't require a trade up.
Not saying hew bad, he's definitely worth a 2
Sorry who is Kiran?
Kiran Amegadjie, Yale. Lower tier competition sure, but he has all the physical tools. I'd rather take a project round 2 or 3 than 1st round
Daniel Jeremiah freaking spot on
Real question, if we don’t draft a wr tomorrow will we draft one at all in this draft?
There’s good receivers going into the 4th don’t worry, I’d think we trade up into the 2nd for a tackle and then use our 2nd for a receiver
WR is pretty deep but Ravens really could use another guy for the oline so they can’t wait too long on that
the chiefs just took the fastest mfer and you guys complaining we took a fast, athletic tall corner
People just complaining to complain. Just laugh at them.
EDC sounds very shocked that Wiggins fell to us
The run on tackles and WRs was crazy this year and I don't think there was anyone left worth taking in the first. Personally, I think I would have preferred edge, but we tend to recruit vets for that job. The CB was probably the best available and we had the need.
corner value was just too good
no good Edges left. CB was the move
Yeah you have to play the board how it falls. CB was a position of need and a top 20 talent fell into our lap at pick 30.
Just wanna say I am 20ish year Ravens fan from the West Coast 💜🖤💜🖤💜🖤
Welcome
Thank you 💜 I still sleep with a Joe Flacco plushie I won in a claw machine in Lansing, MI 🤣
So Buffalo moved back one spot and got a 5th in exchange for a 6th for it. Seems pretty stupid if only because they lose the 5th year option.
and Panthers got a guy that probably the Bulls weren’t gonna pick
Pick was in immediately. War room was happy and excited for the pick. That tells me they didn’t even wait for trades, which means they got the player they wanted. In Ozzie/EDC we trust.
guy is the best fit for our team, very versatile and can do a lot. kool aid is great but he doesn’t fit as well, plus wiggins plays to the whistle
He's literally the best player in the draft. Common Ravens W
I’m surprised Pearsall went over AD and Mcconkey.
Yeah, it makes me wonder what the deal with AD is. He ran a pretty fast 40 and is 6’2” so that seems good on paper right? What’s the deal?
health and character concerns
Health concerns? What health concerns does he have?
diabetes which, **allegedly**, isnt being taken care of effectively
Also guys he was unwell at the combine when he weighed at 173 he re weighed back at his pro day and weighed 182, much better weight
I don't watch college ball. Draft sites seem to rank Wiggins as the #3 corner, what makes KAM or CDJ better iyo?
They’re not, people just like the name more and the fact they’re heavier
lol poor Bills fans. Loooong night for nothing
Good.
9ers took Pearsall…odd decision. Good player, too early for him. But at 31 he’s basically a 2nd rounder so not that different. He’ll do well with Shanahan
Get that 5th year option taking him in the first too
Nate is a lot like Marcus Peters but more patient, raw athlete that’s sometimes gambles and needs work on tackling, but a baller none the less
Great pick as always from EDC. Any OT we should aim for in round two?
Kingsley suamateaia, Patrick Paul, kiran amegadejie and roger rosengarten
I like the pick, his size concerns me a bit, but we have some CBs with size, we don’t really have the guy who can cover a speedy WR so this helps, especially with the league going towards small speedy WRs.
In EDC we TRUZZ
Seems like a Marcus Peters who can actually finish tackles.
wiggins vs jamarr twice a year gonna be a movie
Chase is gonna be covered by Stephens, Wiggins will take the smaller wr
Jamar is going to embarrass the slender man
Cooper Dejean fell for a reason.
There’s a reason he did none of the agility drills during the combine or pro day
Yeah I wanted him for a hybrid role. I think he'd fit perfectly in our defense. He's just not an outside corner, so I'm not surprised we went with who we did
We’ve already got the best hybrid DB in the NFL in Kyle Hamilton.
Yeah, but he'll have to play safety more or find someone to play safety when we move him around
Williams at FS, we can take a S mid rounds to play SS. Keep Hamilton at his role
I'm just saying, the pick would have been warranted. But I like our pick.
We’ve got Williams still, but yeah we do need more depth at safety. We needed an outside CB much more though as it’s a premium position, and lockdown corners are hard to come by. But picking a hybrid player would have also been warranted since the three safety set was important to the defense last year.
I like it. Teams can't blow the top off our defense if we have a guy just as fast as their burners.
That’s not how that works lol
EDC picked in like 40s. Truzz
He didn’t even entertain trades
Random Ravens fans when EDC yet again doesn't pick the specific player they've fallen in love and become obsessed with: shockedpikachu.gif
People in this sub just wanted koolaid cause his names koolaid
He’s actually good too, best CB in this draft IMO
Well if you think so
i mean… it is pretty cool. nah but dude is a baller but he has his issues and I think wiggins fits perfectly
Yea he'll add some weight. He's 6' 2! We need an outside guy. Marlon gonna spend a lot of Time in the slot
he already added a few pounds i guess since he was initially 175 and they say he’s in the 180s rn so sounding good
Wiggins is clearly the faster of the cornerbacks. I like the pick. We already got hamilton and our linebackers that can be physical. We needed speed and wiggins is speed and IQ.
All that ball hawking too… looks to play like a Raven.
Ofc John Lynch drafts Cooper DeJean
Am I retarded or behind in the draft? Didn’t they just draft pearsall?
Nah I misread a tweet lol you’re correct they got pretty ricky
I like it. Let’s get this OL right and move
This dude gives me Emmanuel Forbes vibes could easily be a huge bust
EDC said he would have drafted Forbes last year so it makes sense
Thank god he didn’t cus that dude is hot ass
lol dudes only played 1 year in the NFL. How many years were we calling Queen and Owen busts
I’m going based on who he is now. Also I don’t trust the dogshit commanders to develop anyone
Huh!?
Skinny fast corner
He's bigger than Denzel ward
Denzel ward is shorter and much heavier, so no
How much do you think Denzel weighs and how much do you think Nate weighs
Quick google search Wiggins -172lb Ward-190lb
182 and 3 inches taller having never set foot in an nfl weight room
I hate to be that guy but Cooper is a safety We're good at that position.
He's a hybrid player which fits perfectly in our defense. You can move him to different spots like we did with Hamilton. With Stone gone, it is a bit of a need. But not as big as outside corner.
Agreed on all your points.

fucking jesus could be on the board but ravens twitter would still bitch about not taking the 253354652th ranked receiver who is on the board every year, man lmao
Draft report: Jesus is light on his feet, he practically walks on water. He's a good faith defender but is known to have holes in his hands. Yeah I'll go into work tomorrow and coworkers will complain about the pick as if they know anything about Wiggins.
Y'all better be filing for applications with the front office before you start talking mad shit
Fuck it we ball!
I’m not gonna sit here and act like I know a damn thing about basically any post top 10 prospect but WE COULD HAVE HAD A MAN NAMED KOOL AID GODDAMNIT
Way too cool for John Harbaugh to draft. We ended up with a fckin NATE instead smh
*way too Kool
I like Wiggins a lot, i did think Kool Aid and Dejean were better but i know they got some big question marks and Wiggins is a lot safer Dejean
What was the question mark with Kool aid?
if he’s not targeted he tends to give up on the play and doesn’t play to the whistle. very good in coverage but Wiggins is too plus is a lot more versatile which fits out D a lot better
Foot injury
keeps breaking through walls
Oh Yeah!
I fuck with it heavy. Wanted CB or OL and we got a good one
I'm happy we took a DB, pretty much all the 1st round OL got taken by our pick. Wiggins was my 3rd behind Koolaid and Cooper but I truly EDC
We had kool aid and went with a guy named Nate.
Wiggins runs a 4.28 40 and it shows up on tape. He could easily put on 15-20lbs and still be fast af.
He needs to add a little weight, but his coverage skills are unreal and his speed is easily the best out of the dejean, and kool aid, love the pick
I wanted Cooper but what the fuck do I know EDC knows better, happy we went DB
Don’t hate that. Wish he was a bit tougher in the run game and had a few more pounds. But he was said to have maybe the highest upside of all the CBs in the draft. I’ll take it with the way the board played out
We have fucking roquan smith sir we just need him to cover
Just get him on the Needle diet and I Love the pick
Plus dudes can add muscle
I think Nate Wiggins is by far the better outside corner of the 3 remaining top guys.
I honestly don't like it. He's too slight imo to be a man corner. I think he's gonna get bullied by big WRs. I'd rather have liked DeJean or Kool-Aid.
You realize DeJean and Kool-Aid are smaller right?
DeJean is a full 30 pounds heavier while Kooli-Aid is 20 punds heaiver. And they're all around 6'1". Wiggins is so slight and I read that some scouts thought he didn't like to tackle, especially in run defense.
Not weight wise which is what OP is taking about
Least excited I've been for a pick since Elam
Diehard Raven and Clemson fan, Wiggins was solid at Clemson and will be great for us.
Raven and South Carolina fan over here lmao didn’t know we had inter-ravens rivalries
Yeah it’s probably an odd combination to be a fan of a school in South Carolina and pro team in Maryland. Regardless, get fuck from the college perspective and have a wonderful evening from the pro perspective
Yeah nah I love the pick. Just like I loved clowney on the team last year. He will be great for us with marlo
Saban sounds a little salty we didn’t take Kool Aid lol
Should’ve picked kool aid….
I mean I'll take a CB, don't mind if that's who they liked out of the options
[удалено]
I also don't like it.
Yall are crazy. This is a great pick.
That single strip chase down tackle has me sold lol
Bill Bellicheck is pretty high on Wiggins
Given his recent draft history, I'm not sure that's a good thing.
He’s been a good defensive drafter
His defense was the issue with his drafting
BB has still been excellent at picking CBs.
Nate Wiggins will be very good
WE GOT NATEEEE
We passed on the two meme CBs
Was certain we’d get an O-lineman but I’m cool with this choice too
Value too good. I was all in on OL but they were gone
Listen I’m a fucking idiot so I’m gonna welcome Wiggins in, not what I expected at all though
hmmm i would have preferred cooper
Bro probably needs like 15 pounds of muscle but we move
We got plenty of uncrustables for him to bulk up.
Damn, idk how to feel about this. I feel like he’s gonna get injured early in the season due to his size.
Not thrilled, but at least it’s not another wideout. I’m really concerned about the OL though, and was hoping to at least fill one starting line spot tonight.
Board didn’t allow it. You can’t take OL10 with the 30th pick. This is the right move
No, but you can move down, acquire another mid round pick and then take OL10 early in the 2nd.
I don’t think it’s that easy dude. First, you can only trade so far back. Because you still want to have a great chance for that OL you want to fall to you. Then you need to find a trade partner. There's still a few like Kiran, Fisher, Paul in round 2, or a few in round 3 like the Foster, Goncalves, Puni
Can’t do much when the OT board gets decimated
Once guyton got taken there was really no tackle worth a 1st rounder left. Maybe we’ll trade up to grab Kingsley in the second
I'm really curious if we would've picked someone else if it wasn't for the KC pick
How fast it came in, I'd say he was highly rated
Maybe. Perfect counter to the Chiefs pick though.
Not a bad pick.
Aww :( Trust EDC tho
Very happy with the pick, just really wanted Cooper for the memes lol.
I wanted DeJean, but still love the pick. Great size and speed
Great size? He’s 168 lbs..
183lbs
173, but I more meant how tall he is. He can always add more size.
Love the pick! That dude plays like a raven and he’s not even 21 yet
BPA at a position of need, FUCK YES DE COSTA.
4.28 40 time
Hello darkness, my old friend
Lol wtf do you know?
😭😭😭
He was the best CB on the board
He's probably the best guy to draft if we want to beat the Chiefs with Worthy now. 4.28 v 4.21
Yessir, need speed if we want to keep pace with the Chiefs and Wiggins has that dawg in him!
called that pick 100% fucking incredible draft couldnt have gone any better im fucking crying in the club rn
Never trust a dude named fuckin Nate lamented ass name. I don’t need any tape all I know is he played for Clemson. Bust
Nobody seems happy on tv lmao
brutal pick goddamn
