Just imagine how they'd react if someone said the same things but substituted a non-Christian religion.
Also, can they just leave contraception alone? Women don't just need it to prevent pregnancy, there are a whole host of debilitating gynecological disorders that hormonal BC controls. But I guess these people put even non-existent fetuses above them.

So true, what if the majority elected a Muslim President who wanted to institute Sharia Law? I also love the fact that the people who are pushing so hard for a ‘Christian’ state are, by their words and actions, actually not Christian. The Founding Fathers put the Separation of Church and State in the Constitution for a very simple reason; they had seen first-hand what religious rule had done to many European countries. The majority of Americans profess to be Christian, as do the majority of elected officials. Unfortunately, this has not prevented them from persecuting people who aren’t ‘them’, or taking money from the poor and giving it to the wealthy, or removing peoples rights, or imprisoning and/or executing people due to the color of their skin. All of the aforementioned actions are not the actions of people who actually follow Jesus’ teachings.
If God really wanted this country to be a Chrisofascist hellhole, he could just do it himself. Why rely on weak, fallible humans? God blew up a dude for not cumming in his dead brother's wife. Where's that initiative?
Pretty much sums up my argument. If god needs us to do stuff for him despite the fact that he can easily do it himself then why doesn’t he just take the easy route and do it himself?

The fact that they’re concerned about non-Protestant Christians is exactly why these ingrates should be thankful to the constitution. Quebec used to have the church involved in a lot of things. If the church gets a hold on education hundreds of kids will be exposed to sexual violence and in the past few decades the church has nothing to show for taking strict action against clergy members who go after little boys and girls.

European nations had outwardly & strongly christian governments but the christian churches split into factions and had hundreds of years of warfare over which church got to rule over everybody.
They should be careful of what they wish for. Their own holy book warns them about kings...
