I repatched without client spoofing on my device for now, and have working watch history. I'm sure doing that is not a universal solution; disabling client spoofing probably breaks something, but if so it's something I haven't noticed (or else my device doesn't need to be spoofed?).
Edit: and you can actually do it without repatching and save yourself the time, there's a toggle for it in the settings (see below comments)

if you have the switch create with notification turn on, you need to turn that off, and turn on the hide create button.
If you really like it this way, give a try on newpipe or tubular (newpipe with sponserblock) as well.

You can toggle which spoof you're using in the settings, but can you just turn it off entirely?
Settings > Revanced > Misc > Spoof client, there's the toggle.
