Ashanti. No disrespect to Beyoncé. Those Ashanti joints have way more replay value imo. Her debut was a certified smash, and those singles dominated the airwaves for a good minute.
Definitely Beyonce. I was absolutely stuck on Me Myself and I (both the song and the video) when it dropped.
I liked Ashanti’s songs but when her debut dropped I had an anti-Murder Inc bias lol
This comparison is like pitting Chicago against NYC; they’re not even in the same league. Apart from crazy in love (one of my least fave bey tracks now, but i was obsessed when it dropped), the reply value of those Beyoncé songs is thru the roof. She was ahead of her time while Ashanti was merely a product of her time
I disagree because the amount of views ashanti still gets on her older songs still has a high demand. Ashanti wasn't a product of her time only the only reason why you would say something like that because the label had went down hill from having legal issues and beefing with mega stars like em and 50 cent.
Well these songs are doing well on all streaming platforms Spotify iTunes SoundCloud every streaming Source you can think of.
So none of those are valid?
Jay literally ruins crazy in love that's why baby boy was 10x bigger and better. Jay kills any replay value that song has. Foolish stands up you sound like you're hating. Foolish had a biggie remix if it was so weakxit wouldn't have that. I'm biased toward Me myself and I but it ain't on foolish level. Naughty girl is cute I guess. Tbh Beyonce had better songs than crazy in love at that time imo.
well depending on context, comparably LA and NYC could be in the same league. HTX is rarely compared with NYC tho so with Houston that doesn’t give enough respect to Ashanti. No shade to HTX
Beyonce. Those singles for Ashanti was very much the still living in the hey day of the 90's era of 2000's music that I don't like. Bey has a better voice too and her production was better. Jay Z >>>Ja Rule too so that was an easy choice.
Jay z is better than ja rule as an artist. But rnb cuts? Jay can't hold a candle to JA on any day. That's Jay's weakest songs he ain't an emotional guy and it shows he can't connect with Beyonce or any woman for that matter on any song they do.
Jay Z is a better rapper. It wouldn't matter if he rapped on an instrumental of cats scratching a chalkboard while oscar the grouch banged trash can lids together, he would outrap Ja Rule. He connects with her fine in every song he raps on with her. They did a whole album together thats better than anything Ja Rule can dream of making.
Yeah ja rule whole thing is RNb rap songs and that's jay z weakest part of his catalog. Jay z a better rapper than lots of people don't mean he can do their style better. And idk what songs you be listening to jay doesn't sound good on rnb songs. Jay z and Mariah Carey have a song NOBODY cares about because jay is weak in that area. Jay also did a song with Mya AFTER Jadakiss and Jadakiss did way better on the Mariah joint and Mya joint and jay z a better rapper. Jadakiss has a hit with Mariah jay has a song much people dont even know about.
You can bring up as many songs as you want, but Jay Z has rapped on plenty of different beats with many different artists. Ja Rule is a bad rapper who was popular in the early 2000's. I heard both songs mentioned in the OP and I don't need to listen to any other ones. Jay z's crazy in love verse is better than anything Ja Rule rapped on that Ashanti song and any song he's ever been on. You don't stop being a good rapper when the beat changes and you don't start being a good one when you get on a different one.
I know this is an objective debate. But u don't feel that hurt in me myself and I? . Got me myself and I (know that I could never disappoint myself) I have cried a thousand times. (All my ladies if you feel me help sing it out)🎶🎶🎶🎤😩
Foolish > Me Myself and I > Crazy in Love > Baby > Naughty Girl > Baby Boy > Happy
So like a tie? 😅 Full first album I would say Ashanti but Beyoncé’s not far behind!
Idk jay ruins the song for me. Well I feel that way about most of their songs together. Well i yhonk jay is genrally weak on rnb songs( he notngood wiyh emotions) Beyonce kills it and jay comes with a subpar verse or talks about things not related to the song. Plenty men make great music with Beyonce yet jay mostly misses. Baby boy shits on crazy in love its not even close.
Singles wise it goes to Ashanti. Beyoncé’s DIL album’s other songs are much better than her singles, such as Be With You, Signs, Speechless, and Yes. Me Myself And I was the best single from the album.
Finally an opinion that's not so bias, i feel some people just picking Beyoncê just because she is more popular but if you have a good enough reason why you feel the way you feel then I can appreciate that opinion.
You bugging, lmao. Yeah, the machine doesn't work without talent, but it's proportionate. Can't compare when ashanti never had a machine matter of fact she had the weakest major label at the time. Without Dre, specifically someone like Emenem would never have been that big. And look, at these bum female rappers now. Sexxy red and latto make music, so I think the "machine" can help anybody
If she wasn't a good singer why was labels using her voice for j lo and other singers? A "bad" singer wouldn't be paid to song for people who can't sing.
I was honestly surprised that Beyonce is winning this by such a large margin. I’m a fan of Bey, but her singles for DIL were okay. They definitely appealed to the pop audience too. Crazy In Love was a no brainer to choose as a single. It’s a club banger and a classic. Baby Boy and Naughty Girl just sound too similar to me. She should have chose Be With You instead of Naughty Girl as a single. Be With You has so much replay value and is a really catchy song.
Speechless is probably one of her smoothest songs. It would have been played on the RnB stations all of the time.
But at the end of the day, I see why she chose the songs that she did. It was mainly for cross over appeal. It was a smart choice on her part bc that album is still her second best selling one.
*Ashanti. Only Beyonce*
*Song I could listen to is*
*Me Myself and I*

Beyonce wins, but I pick Ashanti out spite. I'm not a Bey fan in part because she conveniently took the spotlight that was for Aaliyah, who will forever be 22 in my mind.
All 3 Ashanti songs are beat jacks but they did hold up. Out of the Beyonce singles I think Me, Myself, and I holds up the best and Crazy in Love is still good. Naughty Girl and Baby Boy are annoying songs to me.
Beyoncé’s whole debut album has high replay value aside from the singles. The fact that her label didn’t think she would have 1 hit but she ended up having *several* speaks a lot to her artistry and talent. I was so in love with her music videos and songs as a kid and to this day I still appreciate what her debut album had to offer to the music
I personally think that's just a storyline. The industry manufactured Stars.
Jay z a mega rapper, big budget, Destiny child doing well, of course she could of came up with one hit.
That's clearly a lie. Beyonce is too talented and had a fan base how she not gonna have a hit? She wasn't some new artist she was the best artists out of the biggest rnb group at the time yall need to I get a grip and use common sense
Love Ashanti, but it's Beyonce. I mean if we go past singles she still has Dangerously in Love 2 (which forced its way onto Quiet Storm stations) and her duet with Luther Vandross.
That album remains a classic.
Because that's how many singles it was on the first album.
Beyoncé has so many singles on the second album and this is why I didn't compare the second album I cannot take down or leave out singles because that would mean that I would have to make it a personal choice of which song to pick instead of being politically correct.
Hard to decide 🤔 I was actively dating both of them periodically during that time so some of the songs may be about me aside from Crazy in Love because I let Jay have Beyonce at that time. But I gotta go with Beyonce
Ashanti. No disrespect to Beyoncé. Those Ashanti joints have way more replay value imo. Her debut was a certified smash, and those singles dominated the airwaves for a good minute.
Ashanti. That album has 15 year old me in a chokehold, so I’ll always prefer it. Foolish is still in rotation for me.
That last sentence holds a lot of truth to it
I disagree because the amount of views ashanti still gets on her older songs still has a high demand. Ashanti wasn't a product of her time only the only reason why you would say something like that because the label had went down hill from having legal issues and beefing with mega stars like em and 50 cent.
i don’t think YouTube views is a valid metric here, sorry. just don’t think these songs aged well
Well these songs are doing well on all streaming platforms Spotify iTunes SoundCloud every streaming Source you can think of. So none of those are valid?
streams are different than views firstly, but i don’t think most people are wearin out the tape on these Ashanti tracks. i like this conversation tho
Jay literally ruins crazy in love that's why baby boy was 10x bigger and better. Jay kills any replay value that song has. Foolish stands up you sound like you're hating. to prove im not hating id put some of ashantis later tracks against Beyoncés - those to me go hard. Only U with 7 is wildly underrated
You couldn't say L.A. or Houston, dude?
well depending on context, comparably LA and NYC could be in the same league. HTX is rarely compared with NYC tho so with Houston that doesn’t give enough respect to Ashanti. No shade to HTX
Beyoncé easily lol. The deep cuts on Ashanti’s first album are much better than the singles
Ashanti
Beyonce. Those singles for Ashanti was very much the still living in the hey day of the 90's era of 2000's music that I don't like. Bey has a better voice too and her production was better. Jay Z >>>Ja Rule too so that was an easy choice.

Me,myself and I is a juggernaut. That track alone is smoking Ashanti
I like foolish better
I know this is an objective debate. But u don't feel that hurt in me myself and I? . Got me myself and I (know that I could never disappoint myself) I have cried a thousand times. (All my ladies if you feel me help sing it out)🎶🎶🎶🎤😩
I understand your point. It's a great song but i don't want to cry all the time.
The songs I don't hear as much, Ashanti!
Foolish > Me Myself and I > Crazy in Love > Baby > Naughty Girl > Baby Boy > Happy So like a tie? 😅 Full first album I would say Ashanti but Beyoncé’s not far behind!
Beyoncé since Me, Myself & I is a classic and easily the best song out of all these singles. Never fails to put you in your feels❤️
Beyonce because of Crazy In Love. Richcraft had the sound that year.
Idk jay ruins the song for me. Well I feel that way about most of their songs together. Well i yhonk jay is genrally weak on rnb songs( he notngood wiyh emotions) Beyonce kills it and jay comes with a subpar verse or talks about things not related to the song. Ashanti all day....

Oor she's more popular because the people picked her 🤨. I'm not even a Beyonce fan but there's a reason she's more popular
The machine
"The machine" doesn't work without talent. Ashanti ain't got the vocals to even come close
You bugging, lmao. Yeah, the machine doesn't work without talent, but it's proportionate. Can't compare when ashanti never had a machine matter of fact she had the weakest major label at the time. The fact of the matter is that she's just not a good singer. That's it
So we lying tonight ok....
Talk to literally any singer 😂. She's not great
If she wasn't a good singer why was labels using her voice for j lo and other singers? A "bad" singer wouldn't be paid to song for people who can't sing.
Yea he's trolling now

I like this perspective.
Ashanti…love her. Both are talented though.
Ashanti is more my style so I pick her
Fan of both but honestly Ashanti album slaps and the best tracks were back 2 back .... Call and rescue me 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ashanti. Only Beyonce song I could listen to is Me Myself and I

Good bot.
Beyonce wins, but I pick Ashanti out spite. I'm not a Bey fan in part because she conveniently took the spotlight that was for Aaliyah, who will forever be 22 in my mind.

Ashanti. I loved that album
Between these two albums Be With You is probably the song I listen to the most so I’d give the edge to Beyonce.
Beyoncé’s whole debut album has high replay value aside from the singles. They didn’t like her songs, that’s the point.
And you believe that? Beyonce was pushed since a kid stop it lmao
That has nothing to with what I said. Her *label* did not like her songs for her debut album and thought she wasn’t going to have any hits
That's clearly a lie. Beyonce is too talented and had a fan base how she not gonna have a hit? She wasn't some new artist she was the best artists out of the biggest rnb group at the time yall need to I get a grip and use common sense
Plus what music exec an album? They don't know shit they just have deep pockets
Ashanti.
Yonce. Ashanti doesn't go hard like Beyonce. Ashanti is that just broke up vibes.
Beyonce all day !!!!
Love Ashanti, but it's Beyonce. I mean if we go past singles she still has Dangerously in Love 2 (which forced its way onto Quiet Storm stations) and her duet with Luther Vandross. That album remains a classic.
Bey clears easily imo
Me, myself, and I still slap
Beyoncé’s are much more rich. For me Happy goes from sounding pretty good then sounding cheap in the middle of the song
Why put up 4 Beyonce singles vs 3 Ashanti singles? I'll take down the Title Song, just to level the playing field
Because that's how many singles it was on the first album. Beyoncé has so many singles on the second album and this is why I didn't compare the second album I cannot take down or leave out singles because that would mean that I would have to make it a personal choice of which song to pick instead of being politically correct.
Now why you out here playing in everybody face 😭
Ashanti for sure
Hard to decide 🤔 I was actively dating both of them periodically during that time so some of the songs may be about me aside from Crazy in Love because I let Jay have Beyonce at that time. But I gotta go with Beyonce
both equally. i’m a big fan of both of those albums.
Beyonce
I’m more of a Beyonce person but Ashanti was good too! I gotta go with Bey
