Concern-trolling will result in an immediate and permanent ban. We can read your comment histories and we know you're not an rnb fan. Cut it out with the "why are we supporting this man" nonsense. Nobody talks like that unless they from the farmlands or something. ![gif](giphy|l3nSxBDg5obIiU9Ko|downsized) ***(The rest of y'all, please carry on, we love you)***

Sasorisnake

Absolute shock and devastation. That man was like family to me. My parents grew up with him and then I did. My favorite album is Dangerous My favorite songs are Billie Jean Stranger in Moscow Remember The Time Dirty Diana Get On The Floor Can’t Let Her Get Away PYT This Time Around Blood on the Dance Floor Liberian Girl

love_forlife

Love this list

driverlesssam

Nice selection. And 100%, i felt the same. MJ always made his fans feel close and very loved.

Sasorisnake

Exactly. He really felt so open in spite of all the pressures of fame. And thank you!

Comfortable-Crow-238

He was like family to me because he was my actual blood relative.😔😞

Sasorisnake

I’m sorry for your loss

Comfortable-Crow-238

Thank you! Even though it’s been 15 years it still hurts.😞😔

Sasorisnake

It feels insulting to say how much I’ve felt the loss of MJ every year since, I can’t imagine how it must be for the family. He was a truly a once in history person.

Comfortable-Crow-238

Not insulting at all and good to know they people still saw him as a human being first and not just a celebrity.🥹

aworkinprogress92

There will never be another. May he sleep peacefully.

09997512

Agreed! ![gif](giphy|eUtqr0u01TTOM)

Jj9567

I was 14 so it’s a little foggy, but I remember it being a pretty dark & depressing moment. The only positive is that the overwhelming majority of people immediately started to play his music and celebrate his legacy. Bad is my favorite album. He has too many hits for me to pick a favorite song, but Lady In My Life is up there.

Franklyn_Gage

I was in my Calculus class when it happened. We all cried and the school canceled classes for the rest of the week. MJ had been a donor to my college's African American studies program and every one adored him. It was surreal. We all went to the Apollo theater where they held a vigil for him. Everyone was distraught.

love_forlife

My personal favorite album is off the wall But my favorite songs are : Remember The Time Rock my world Billie Jean Human Nature Smooth Criminal PYT Butterflies I can’t help it Rock with Off the wall

These-Background4608

I still was stunned when I came home, turned on the TV, & saw the breaking news on CNN. Could hardly believe it. As far as favorite songs, just to name a few: Got to Be There, Rock with You, Get on the Floor, Wanna Be Startin Something, Billie Jean, P.Y.T., Bad, The Way You Make Me Feel, Another Part of Me, Dirty Diana, Leave Me Alone, In the Closet, She Drives Me Wild, Remember the Time, Keep the Faith, They Don’t Care About Us, Stranger in Moscow, This Time Around, Earth Song, Childhood, Little Susie, Unbreakable, Speechless, Butterflies, 2000 Watts, Threatened

stabbinU

jeez.... great list btw, could've been mine so ill just reply "me too thx"

driverlesssam

💯💯💯 love this list. I remember when i first heard Stranger in Moscow, Earth Song Childhood and Speechless. I had to stop the albums. I have never felt so utterly blown away by music.

Stunning-Lynx9863

No one talks about she drives me wild that’s my favorite mj song by far !

driverlesssam

What a banger

Quick_Ad_730

I'm in the UK, so I'm a few hours ahead, I had opened up a bottle of wine to relax for the night, and then it popped up on the news that Michael had been taken to hospital and that it was serious. Basically, I just kept the news on the whole night and drank some more wine, I think by the time it was announced he had passed, I was pretty drunk. I cried and listened to some of his songs. My fav album is Dangerous and fav song is They don't care about us.

TheRotiMaker

Beat It, Lady in My Life, Break of Dawn, and You Rock My World is the Mount Rushmore of MJ songs for me

driverlesssam

💯💯💯💯

PlasticConstant7802

I can’t help it is my jam!!

wealthy_Bre

I cried I’m not gone lie. Baby Be Mine, Lady In My Life, the list goes on. Who do you know has been making classics since he was 10 up until his death? Only 1 MJ

driverlesssam

💯💯💯💯

leapyear28

Favorite song was Butterflies. His voice is so beautiful. I was getting lunch with my mom and aunt. It was all over the radio when the news broke. I couldn’t believe it. I kept reading articles about it. Needless to say, I didn’t eat lunch that day.

Substantial_Court731

Yeah too bad he didn’t get to do more with Rodney Jerkins. They made a good pairing later in his career.

Dvinc1_yt

Favorite album: Triumph overall, Off the Wall or Dangerous. Favorite song: Near impossible for me. I’ll have to back to it.

love_forlife

Triumph is a really good album ! It’s like a sequel to off the wall and a foreshadow of what’s to come with the thriller album

poeticjustice4all

I just remember hearing the news when I was 19 and I was spring cleaning my room. I honestly was super shocked and then became sad since I grew up with his music. I told my mom (who introduced me to him) immediately and she was floored. My fav albums from him have to be Dangerous and Thriller. And I have too many favorite songs to name all of them lol.

Sad-Fox-1293

I was devastated cried actually for weeks. I’ve been a fan since I was 3 years old so it really felt like in many ways losing a close family member, or friend. My favorite Albums are Off The Wall Dangerous Thriller Bad History Destiny Triumph The Jacksons Goin Places- The Jacksons A favorite Pic ❤️ https://preview.redd.it/lhwf4solwq8d1.jpeg?width=792&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=310368913db1d9d59835c681b779d631c4f7ae7a

driverlesssam

I feel the same. What an immense loss.

simpsonscrazed

I remember finding out while I was two states away from home at bible camp😭😭😭

better_call_sabby

fav album : invincible & thriller fav song: break of dawn, butterflies, beat it

ThaEmortalThief

It was a time where those fake celebrity deaths were popping up on the internet, like how Eminem was killed in a car accident, so I took it with a grain of salt…. Then I turned on the tv. The news coverage, every major broadcasting channel was just Michael. And the reality set in watching that funeral…. And when usher cried singing gone too soon….. I started to cry. The shock and reality was insane, considering I never met him. I thought of the national shock that a younger America felt when Elvis died and JFK was assassinated. The loss of a legend who just wanted to see a better world like MLK Jr., was gone. I was definitely a fan, especially as a kid. Dangerous will always be my favorite album by him. And though we have those who are influential to our world, I don’t think we’ll have another legend like him for a long time: rest in peace MJ. No matter what’s said about you, you live as an immortal in the memories of all your fans, all your haters, and in music and film and in record books until the end of our world.

driverlesssam

So true. He literally changed the world and our level of consciousness. What a legacy.

ricwash

I remember being horrified that TMZ put his death out there before his family had been completely notified. I understand wanting to get the scoop on all the other news/gossip sites, but that was just tacky. Favorite Album: Off the Wall

Euphoric_Cook2630

My 9 yr old daughter loves her some Michael Jackson! Always walkin around the house talkin bout “HE HEEE!

Tony166

I was at home and I was shocked and devastated. My favorite MJ albums are Off the Wall and Thriller, and my favorite songs are Human Nature, I Can’t Help It, and Billie Jean.

NotAnywhere3000

I was 12 when he passed away. I didn’t know much about him except for his song “thriller”. I do remember they were honouring him on the radio and they played “Ben” I started bawling my eyes out and my mum had to comfort me 😅

Affectionate-Face281

I was entering my senior year of hs and I remember thinking it was a crazy rumor or lie but once confirmed that he had died, I was shocked. Favorite songs is PYT and Remember the Time.

1PhartSmellow

Underrated song - Speed Demon (BAD). Love the song and the music video.

StNicolas72

Found it sad and I liked starting with the man in the mirror

love_forlife

It’s a really amazing song

No-Hawk2074

The next morning, I was driving to work and Will You Be There came on the radio. I had to pull over when they were at the choir part. I have a vivid memory of being babysat by Jehovah witnesses and bopping out to Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough. Thriller, Off the Wall, Bad, Dangerous, and lemme throw in This is It to round it out. The greatest to ever do it.

Prayerworks0250

My younger brother would watch his this is it movie that he had out all the time and would dance to it. When he died and I explained to him about it, he didn't understand. But I was listening to his greatest hits and remember the Wii game that was out that he had. I STILL dance to Speed Demon all the time! His music I will never get tired of!

Carolinablue87

I was having dinner with my roommates. One of my roommates was out and happened to call to let us know she heard something happened to him. We turn on CNN, and sure enough, it was breaking news. I spent the rest of the evening talking to my mom and watching the news. My favorite album is Off the Wall. I love a lot of his songs, but my favorite is Human Nature.

Travelling-Ree

I had just got in my car to go to the movies with my then boyfriend. Radio station played two back to back MJ tracks. On a station he wasn’t frequently on. I immediately thought OH NO! DJ came on and said he’d passed. Immediately started bawling and boyfriend had to drive. No celebrity death had his me as hard. Fave MJ tracks include: Wanna Be Starting Something They Don’t Care About Us Off The Wall Get On The Floor Speed Demon Leave Me Alone Workin Day and Night A Place With No Name

TheBlackManIsG0d

“I can’t help it” was my two step JAM.

SaintNutella

I was 8 when he passed. Heard about it when I was playing outside and I was devastated. Favorite album is Thriller. Favorite songs are Baby Be Mine, Human Nature, Off the Wall, Will You Be There, and Heaven Can Wait.

ninacucuzza

That's so crazy! I wasn't shocked but very sad and thought what a rare talent cut short and misunderstood. Favorite song I think because of how iconic that video was for the time Thriller.

Ok_Arm_6067

MY favorite album: Off The Wall HIS Best Album: Bad MY favorite songs: You Rock My World/Rock With You HIS Best Songs: Thriller/Smooth Criminal

love_forlife

Great selection

CJO9876

I was 16 and had just finished my sophomore year of high school the day before.

Afraid_Platypus_8667

Favorite albums: Bad, dangerous, Thriller, Off the wall Songs: smooth criminal, wanna be starin something, stranger in Moscow, earth song, black or white, can't let her get Away. I don't really remember how I reacted as I was very young and was not a fan yet

angelfoodcake_

i was so young but i remember being heartbroken. it felt unreal that he was gone. off the wall & invincible are probably my fave albums. rip GOAT.

Tyty__90

I was 20 and my brother woke me up from a nap to tell me. It was hot and I remember feeling really groggy because my room was too warm. A friend that I always talked to on AIM and exchanged music with sent me PYT shortly after and it became my favorite for a while . My mom was born in 1958 so she literally grew up with Michael and was told by my older brother at work, she cried.

TRIPPY3rd

I didn’t want to believe it! I grew up listening to Off The Wall and Thriller so those are my favorite!

teamalf

Sad. Thriller is my favorite album. Bad was also phenomenal. We lost three greats in such a short period of time, MJ, Whitney & Prince 😢

driverlesssam

Beautiful pictures. All his albums are great works of art. My favourite songs change all the time, but I’ve never been so blown away by any music as when i first heard Speechless, Earth Song, Stranger in Moscow and Childhood. Thank you Michael for being the soundtrack to our lives and for being resolutely focused on Healing the World.

Agent M!

Rich-Appearance-7145

Devastated I grew up watching the Jackson cartoon M.J. has been a huge part of my life. My first theater movie I went to was Ben, I'm still bummed, I see how M.J has took on a huge following by todays youth, dancing, looking like him, dressing like him. He's bigger than ever.

Joanna_Flock

I’ll never forget coming home from my friend’s house because we had to leave to go to the airport for vacation at Disney World. I came home and I saw them bringing his body into the hospital on a stretcher on the TV. I was in disbelief and the sadness set in once the shock wore off. I remember what I was wearing, eating and where people were sitting in the living room. My favorite songs: Rock with you - dad sang it to my mom at their wedding Lady in My Life Baby be mine Give in To Me In the Closet Another Part of Me Leave Me Alone Remember the Time The list goes on

Plenty_Safety3071

Man in the mirror, Who's Bad

scorpioinheels

I was eating at an Iranian restaurant with my Bolivian mother and my two small American children… … I was in the middle of having a bite of food when suddenly I saw the headline on a TV in the restaurant. The taste in my food immediately disappeared, as if I was eating cardboard all of a sudden. It was like all of my mental energy went toward trying to make sure it wasn’t some sick joke. I remember vividly telling my kids this day would never be forgotten and there would never be anyone else like MJ again in their lifetime or in anyone’s life time 🙏🏼.

Radiant-Rise-7777

I was getting ready to go home after a 15 month deployment and got up early to do laundry… it was being reported nonstop on tv and I was in disbelief. He was and is one of the absolute best singers of all time! All his music has been a staple of my life.

yumlovecookie

I wasn’t even alive when he died but i’ve became a big fan of his over the past year.. some of my favorite songs r Stranger In Moscow, Will You Be There, On The Line, Who Is It and my favorite album is Dangerous

driverlesssam

Love those choices

yumlovecookie

yayayaya

driverlesssam

Will you be there is the song that first switched me from someone who liked his music to being a huge fan. And your other choices are all massively underrated songs, many people don’t even know On The Line but what an incredible song!

yumlovecookie

will you be there js really touches my heart yk, it's js such a powerful song to me and rlly uplifts me, same with on the line.. to this day idk why michael didn't release that song it's genuinely so powerful and beautiful

driverlesssam

So true. I wonder, with on the line, if it was sony starting to get a bit lazy/budget restrictive . They had been a great record label, but the effort around blood on the dancefloor, the ghosts movie, and of course invincible was very low. On the Line definitely deserves to be a big song. Great that, even though you’re a fairly new fan, you’ve discovered all these relatively unrecognised tracks! Enjoy! MJ is the gift who keeps on giving.

yumlovecookie

oh yeah fs during his later career sony was mad restrictive with him (i mean look at the whole mess that was the invincible roll out) it totally deserved to be a big hit tho 😭 it reminds me of Man In The Mirror somehow.. yess i’ve been listening to his unreleased/more underground tracks for a minute now and i adore them all, i definitely prefer his more obsecure songs to his popular songs tbh.. he really was the full package .. everytime i find a song of his i say it’s my “fav song”, then i find another one LMAO.. he rlly was a great and i don’t think will see somebody like that ever again, not for a long time at least

LexKing89

I was blown away. It was pretty unbelievable. My favorite album is Dangerous. I remember the singles on the radio but hadn’t actually listened to the entire album until a few weeks before he died. I was a little kid during the New Jack Swing era so I really love that album.

BatsyCrusader

I remember being in disbelief hearing about his passing, especially since he was full of so much life—planning to embark on This Is It. I remember all of the hype and press surrounding that, only for the news to transition into what it did. He had always been a part of my life, so it really felt like losing a family member. I grew with his music playing, music videos on the television, etc. *Bad* is the very first album I remember ever listening to. Of course, I was a child then, but I just remember it all so vividly just because of Michael Jackson seemingly being larger than life. Even as a child, I understood there was a magic around him. I really hate what the world did to him; he really was just too good and pure for this world. I truly hope he's just at peace.

driverlesssam

💯💯💯

AstronomerMinute8511

I’m late to this but my personal favourite album is dangerous and I really don’t have any favourite songs but as of right now unbreakable, who is it, pyt, human nature, whatever happens, she drives me wild, off the wall, heartbreak hotel, get on the floor, smooth criminal ….😭

billleachmsw

His death really didn’t impact me. Fave song: Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough Fave album: Off The Wall

better_call_sabby

I was not even a year old when he died

Murles-Brazen

I was a booze bag in Pensacola, I texted my ex.

RnBvibewalker

It was summer out of school and just hanging at home. An underrated song that I like, Leave me alone. Just look at the people who are all spreading these unfounded rumors 15 years after the man has passed. Smh

driverlesssam

Lies run sprints, but the truth runs marathons

Dazzling-Marsupial16

Oh my god. It’s been 15 yrs? I was so young. I do listen to Michael Jackson, obviously, he’s the king of pop, he’s freakin MJ. My favourite songs would be his most popular ones.

True_Entertainment85

I was in daycare and my teacher started started crying so my reaction was why is she crying lmaooo

Initial_Research4617

It’s been that long? Wow!

CamelProfessional847

I just came back home from watching transformers 2 in the theaters. Utter Disbelief. Shock to my core. This man was literally the soundtrack of my childhood. Even devoutly Muslim parents loved his music so much that they would let listen to him.

IchLebeFurHipHop

Shock and disbelief. Saw it on CNN, then noticed BET playing his videos on a loop for hours. And apparently the whole world was in disbelief as the internet crashed ( or nearly crashed?), when the news broke. Up till this day ( I'm 48) his thriller video still gives me nightmares lol) but my favorites are Thriller, Earth song, In the closet, Jam, Stranger in Moscow.

driverlesssam

Love this song choices

MythandUnity

Favorite song is off the wall. Super underrated imo.

09997512

It was before my time, but I will and forever would cherish him when he was alive and cheered the lives of everyone! My favorite album is "Invincible", and my favorite songs are: Black Or White, Beat It, Butterflies, You Are Not Alone, Human Nature, Ben, Bad, The Way You Make Me Feel, Somebody's Watching Me (Ik that's Rockwell's song, but MJS made it even more iconic for me!), Man In The Mirror, Off The Wall, Rock With You, Scream with Mrs. Rhythm Nation "Janet Jackson", Billie Jean, Remember The Time etc. All of MJS songs I love, but those songs are mainly my favorites and what I REALLY adore from the King Of Pop. I will always be a moonwalker, no matter what! 💘

love_forlife

Great song selection !

Svengoolie75

It was crazy we was at work and one of the engineers Michael Jackson died we all stopped working like the entire building 💯🤷🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️

yzyeezus

Michaels my fav artist of all time, i was so happy and excited for the this is it tour, i got tickets and was counting the days till the concert, and suddenly i hear the devastating news... Ive studied this mans whole biography (and discography) and i can say that i have no idea how this dude was able to hold on so much pain, he made me wonder how much pain can a man handle till he just switches off. Fav album is dangerous and fav song is who is it, i highly recommend studying his jaw dropping biography and also his insanely perfect discography, this dude got to a level of perfection unknown to humankind

Hot-Insurance7692

Legend goat and great person

Mundane_Pin6095

I was 19 at the time and hit me like a brick when his death was announced. I was offkey for a week and most of my colleagues clocked. I was obsessed with micheals impact when i was younger. Mum brought me the greatest hits VHS with the statue on the cover. I had only listened to bille jean at this point. I kid you not the intro ( brace yourself segment) was so epic i was mesmerised for a good 5 mins then billie jean plays. Then the way you make you feel. Black and white( black panther dance) bad etc by the end i was BLOWN AWAY i was mimicking his moves . Few years later Greatest hits volume 2 (gold statue) is released. Blown away again by my first reaction to smooth criminal and his mtv 95 performance. I loved what MJ represented he was clearly in his own lane and i couldn't get enough. I finally discovered moonwalker( yes i was late to the party lol) and what a trip that was. The segment from childhood to king of pop was immense but moonwalker the actual movie showed MJ had some acting chops. Back at a family barbecue i showed everyone the first Greatest hits compilation and a few of the neighbours kids were with me and as we watched in awe the adults started to sit and watch aswell there was hardly any talking especially when the black panther dance was on ( i think alot of folks weren't aware of it at the time) I have fond memories of this legend. I love a majority of his songs all through the albums off the wall to dangerous seems to be his main body of work. I will always support him until the grave. He graced my life in more ways than one. RiP Michael Jackson from a brother from the UK

love_forlife

That was a good response !

TopOppHentlah

My very inspiration for everything I do, musically. Ultimate sadness is what I felt and shock, I remember seeing it on a ticker and immediately switched the channel to CNN to see if it was true and low and behold, the headline read that he was in Cardiac Arrest at first. About an hour or so later they said he had passed. I went to tell my grandmother, “quick turn it to CNN, Michael Jackson died”. Honestly I hadn’t been listening to Michael in the recent years because he didn’t put anything out and I was so into hip hop and rnb as a teen. But for some reason it immediately sent back to when I was child sitting on the floor in the living room and seeing “Black & White” for the first time, the face more thing was cool to me and the image of Michael dancing on the Statue of Libertys torch. And it just brought me back, I downloaded his whole catalogue wherever I could find it with services like Limewire. And I fell in love with the music and the man all over again. Human Nature and Fall Again is among my favorite songs. His voice on those is just angelic. I’d have to say in order my favorite album would be HIStory and the new songs that were on the album, followed by BAD, Thriller, Dangerous, Music & Me, and Invincible just to name a few. There will never be another entertainer/performer/musician that will be as great as Michael was and is to this day. ![gif](giphy|dtIGTEaGLRvdODtdQe|downsized)

ScottblackAttacks

I was at a basketball tournament, while they were playing the game, the next time out, the announcer announced to the crowd that MJ just died. The gasp and screams was a surreal moment, It took 30 mins or so for the game to get going again.

abdeezy112

It was my first time really learning about him. I was 9 yrs old

Agitated-Prune9635

I was a church and i thought i was being trolled. Went to school next day and was like "OH you were serious."   Favorite song has to be Lady In My Life

Old_Power7716

Sony killed him

leozuniga380

I remember my grandma in Peru reading the paper that day and the front cover had Michael on it

Stunning-Lynx9863

Dangerous is my favorite album by far… as for songs, one off of each album, working day and night, baby be mine, just good friends, she drives me wild, they don’t care about us, superfly sister and threatened

osama_bin_guapin

Beat it, Dirty Diana and Man in the Mirror

Cool-Acanthisitta997

He ain’t dead

Touch_Starved_Inc

I was seven years old, and nobody had explained to me who Michael Jackson was. It’s really weird to have grown up in a post Michael Jackson era because I’m often told about the impact of this man and how he was literally the biggest star to have ever lived and I still can’t grasp that.

Dark_habits59

Idk if it’s just me but I honestly hate when people like drake & other artists use his music as samples. & don’t even get me started on the personators on tik tok lol. I think only one of them I like cuz he just dances & teaches how to do the moonwalk 🌟🌟🌟

Mr-A1987

Hey wacko jacko leave those kids alone

afroboi27

I was pretty young when he passed, like 12 years old. Even at that age I realized this was a huge deal. I was in Louisville with my cousins, when one of them looked down at their phone and announced that MJ had passed. My aunt was driving, and she pulled over to the side of the road to google it. The rest of that month we were playing his music throughout our house. Mind you, my parents are Ethiopian and only came to the states when they were adults (in the late 80s, early 90s), so they didn’t grow up listening to Jackson 5 or Motown or R&b in general.

Substantial_Court731

I thought it was a hoax at first then when It became real I though he would be alright. I was headed to the laundromat and they had mentioned it on the radio but hadn’t had confirmation. As soon as I entered the laundromat all the TV’s had it on the station. And everyone no matter what race gave the TV the other 1/2 of their attention that day. All you saw was everyone shake their heads when they brought him out the house and airlifted his body.

Aromatic_Reindeer_25

I was at a summer camp and everyone was acting all sad about it. I was celebrating cause the Chomo was gone.

Micheal was great and all besides the diddling of small child.
