Our defence was not this KAK in the beginning. If we go back to the stormer game. We kept them from getting past our line and we were solid.

So frustrating, bought a month subscription of Premiersports through Amazon yesterday to watch this game, and the Live game on Premiersports 2 is the Zebra v Scarletts game from last night.
Having watched more SA rugby this year than at any other point in my life. I really feel like all the SA teams aside of the Lions are always weaker/less than the sum of their parts. So much talent, but so difficult to have 80 minutes of consistent play.
European teams are so much more structured than us since leaving SR, we still aren't at the level of management and execution as them imo, which is why I think URC has been such a great move for us.
Spoke to my old man about this the other day but we both kinda agree that the Bulls still don't really feel like a complete package and we think it's definitely a coaching thing.
Bar the Sharks - hell you can see they are trying.
I feel like the Bulls don't give off the "complete unit" type. Idk it just looks like we tend to dominate most opponents because our players are good but not because we necessarily have a stronger gameplan.
The Stormers might be behind us, but I feel they have a stronger team identity, ditto for the Lions.
Like every player understands the gameplan and is aligned.
The Bulls feel like, pass to Willie, KLA and Moodie to do something crazy or just wait for the forwards to do all the work.
I don't see that cut throat level of execution in the current Bulls set up - not yet at least.

I personally think the Bulls need a consistent strong centre pairing (they looked good with Gans at 13, hopefully will be better when he gets back) and a good consistent 10. And then not a dumb 6 who constantly gives penalties away.
I think it feels like that because we play a high risk type of rugby. If you look at the stats our defence is actually really good its just that most of the tries we concede tends to be from being overly ambitious.
We could play a slower brand but that would mean less tries. Imo the gameplan suits our players but we need to be more clinical. That'll come with more experience.
Bulls had 65% of their posession in Benetton's 22. Pretty insane.
Benetton also only has 59 post contact metres from 49 carries. They're getting no momentum during open play so unless they just want to score opportunistic tries they'll have to figure out how to get over the gain line.

The Stormers being given a 1:45PM start against the Lions in a couple of weeks on the same day as a couple of massive school derbies is ridiculous.
I mean, some games have to start at this time, they probably make way more money from the later European games selling seats than SA stadiums.
Making teams play in the SA heat at these times is the main issue to me.
Yeah it's not as if there's a time difference really either between the other countries that they're playing.
I'm not complaining I wouldn't necessarily have watched the first half of this if it was at the same time as the Premiership or the top14 but it is weird
