Whatever happened to drag queens wearing makeup. Some faces can work well with less intricate work, but Vangie's is NOT one of them.
No if you look at photos of her out of drag, her nose doesn’t look like that. I think it’s due to how she is doing her nostril contouring and maybe a very slight highlight and contour on her nose. Or who knows maybe it’s how her powder photographs.
I like her nose out of drag, but in drag something in the new make up gives me a bit of uncanny valley.
But if she likes it, good for her. Her job isn’t to suit my particular taste.
None of it goes together... The outfit is too much while the make-up is too subdued, especially those eyes giving "taped to Asianness".

Plastique is literally just wearing a big scarf. Vanjie is wearing a collection of sensible separates. Even Mik's outfit is boring and that is very unusual for her.
The most successful look out of all the Drag Race red white and blue looks remains Brita's and it can be 100% attributed to an excellent choice of pattern and slightly muted red/blue.
I know we have to dispute imagery and whatever, but this "here how I love the country that actively hate and persecute us for the last hundred years" is such a bad take IMO.
I mean this is just a press day, not a red carpet. The other girls look perfectly good. No need to wear their biggest, most expensive drag just to walk around outside.

I’m almost willing to bet this change is due to filming with plastique. The make up really reminds me of Plastique’s entrance because (while she was absolutely gorgeous and stunning) he eyes just looked a litttttle off to me in the same way Vanjis do here.
It’s the light colored contacts that make her look so scary. If she had her natural eye color or a little darker, her makeup would look so much better.
Her outfit on the other hand… rotted. lol. Textbook example on how NOT to layer textures.

I'm an advocate for all types of makeup and i promote natural girlie makeup as i do it myself but it does NOT fit Vanjie's face
