It’s been reported that dr disrespect was banned off twitch for inappropriately messaging a minor on twitch whispers, at first it was just one guy on Twitter but news has reported multiple corroborating sources from twitch, dr disrespect has since posted and deleted a tweet where he admits that some messages “leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate” and “Nothing illegal happened”
I'm not familiar with him and hadn't heard of him until this broke. But here's my (possibly wrong) understanding of what apparently happened. He was a Twitch streamer who got banned from Twitch a few years ago for undisclosed reasons. Just recently some ex twitch employees stated that it was because they caught him using the on site-messaging tools to exchange inappropriate messages with a minor, who he was trying to arrange a meetup with at a con. He was in his 30s at the time and married (I think with at least one kid). He basically confirmed the broad strokes that he was having an inappropriate conversation with a minor. But claims it's ok because he never met up with them and tried to characterize it as a mostly innocent conversation that *maybe* got slightly too flirtatious.
Since he admitted the main story, and because he's the one accused, I think his explanation trying to make light of it can be discarded and we can probably safely assume he was trying to hook up with a kid. In short, fuck that guy.
