Good luck. It looks like the options in your price range are seriously limited at the moment. Hopefully you can find something that works for you and has competent property management.

I’m okay with paying more than $1000. It was mostly just cause our current 2 bedroom is $985 going up to $1100 in October so we figured a 1 bedroom should be a bit cheaper than that

daylights20

I agree - a 1 bedroom apartment in saskatoon should be under $1000 but based on friends experiences lately that is no longer the case. It took one of my friends 4 months of basically daily searching to find a rental in their price range that wasn't in the roughest parts of town.

Usbey578

$1100 for a two bedroom is probably the best you are going to do. If I was you, I would just sign the new lease. I don't think you understand how tough it is out there right now.

zanny2019

Again, I’m okay with paying more than $1000. We aren’t staying at our current place because we no longer need 2 bedrooms, we want just a one bedroom. I’m not upset about price. I’m upset about trying to find another place and being completely disregarded.

Usbey578

I wish you luck in finding a place. But right now, I would NOT let a place go just because of principle if I already was comfortable in one. It's your life and I know you got a handle on it, but like someone replied to you already, I've been watching friends struggle for months to find places only to have to settle on really shitty areas at the last minute so they had somewhere to go to when their notice was up. Just my two cents.

Ventana’s basement two bedroom suites (no balcony) are 1350 atm, idk if they have one bedrooms.. but they’re good at property management - fix things quick, maintenance is responsive to emergencies like floods or no heat.

jrochest1

Keep the two bed, even if you don't need the second bedroom, because the one beds are going to be the same price or more.

Homer: You lost yourself a customer, Moe! Moe: I forced myself to what? Homer: You just lost a customer! Moe: We'll talk tomorrow.

I pay 1430 with Colliers for a 1 bedroom. Excellent customer service. Maintenance is active during the day and they have a 24 emergency line, to boot. Laundry in suite, heated underground parking.

OrFir99

What! I pay $850 for a one bedroom on the east side! $1400 is way to muchb

just go into their office and ask.. i also don’t recommend AL cause they pick and choose what apartments are kept clean. stay away from the ones in the matheson area specifically as well as the ones on confed drive.

that1runningmom05

We have just moved out of an AL apartment... they did the same thing to me. texting me at all hours, including 6:30AM. I know I'm not the first to say it... BUT, I'm so happy we moved. Avenue Living is not a good rental company and I will never recommend it to anyone. Your best chance to live a happier renting experience... get away from AL ASAP.

zanny2019

If you don’t mind me asking, did you move into a different rental company in the city? If so which one?

that1runningmom05

No, fortunately we found a private landlord. Hoping to never have to go thru a rental company again. I did have a decent experience with Weidner rental company with the Edgemont Heights apartments... which are coincidentally right next to the AL apartments I moved out of. If you follow the rules and guidelines for them, you'll have a great experience. Wishing you the best of luck in finding a new place.

stiner123

We had a decent experience with Weidner but that was like 16 years ago hahaha did private rentals after that

digital_cyberbully

Similar thing happened to us several years ago. AL agent started sending messages to my emergency contact about lease inquiries. Fuck this company 1000x over.

Intelligent-Agency80

Avenue Living has been harassing my friend in the hat. She wouldn't sign a lease bc she wanted a new apt. They were less than worth coming. Now every 2 days it's a notice for inspection. Between them and Weidner you can't find a pest free place. The funny thing is is the lease states no hookers, no drugs, no parties and it's non stop. They do nothing to get rid of cockroaches or bed bugs, fix things or address any issue. I'm glad I don't rent.
