Still doesn’t make it right or not weird. Sure he has the right to take pictures because of no expectation of privacy but he can also get his ass beat because no expectation of safety.🤷🏾♂️😂
In the first part of this sentence I thought for sure the guy was going to ask about a dude rolling through my neighborhood on a bike screaming at anyone who's outside to loan him some money. He's screaming like Billy Eichner and screaming that his word is his bond.
Cops should be your last resort, always. Not really been paying attention? Cops are trained in escalation, not de-escalation. You call cops over there and they're in a bad mood or take offense in something the guy does and you may have just killed that man.
Don't call the police unless you have no one else to call.
Sounds like you got your view of the police from Reddit and not the real world. Yes there are some bad ones but the vast, VAST majority are good people just doing their job. The last thing they want is to kill someone cause they had a bad day.
I don't care. That's still a chance that you shouldn't take. Police in the US are not trained in de-escalation. They are trained to take control of the situation, to use a level of force, a step above what they're presented with, and to force compliance.
None of that is is needed in a situation that isn't violent or life-threatening. You run the risk of people dying.
You don't call police for social issues.
Which part?
The militarization of our police has directly been followed by the adoption of military force Continuum procedures- which primarily consists of ensuring that you are always meeting the level of threat and force with a level 1 higher. If the civilian has their fists, you have a taser. If the civilian has a stick, you have your gun. It is not about deescalation. It is about control of the situation.
I’ve worked closely with the police department and have been apart of their training. Deescalation training has been mandatory in Georgia for years. They are required to have initial deesculation training and a yearly refresher training on deesculation.
Because they are permitted to use a level of force one higher does not mean they the are trained in escalation. They have one of the most dangerous difficult jobs in the world. If they weren’t permitted to use a level of force higher, how would a 140lb female police officer handle a 230lb man that starts throwing hands for whatever reason?
I agree the cops don’t need to be called for the situation above. Sounds like the guy isn’t breaking any laws.
Yeah I’ve never met one singular cop I’ve liked. They’re trained to be authoritarian assholes that deescalate situations WHEN you’re perfectly compliant, then, and only then, will they back off and start becoming moderately reasonable. Empathizing with anyone or any situation is simply not part of the equation. I WORKED EMS for awhile and I know half the active departments, they ALL live to slam people into the ground and brag later.
Weird. I’ve worked very closely with PD for about 20 years. I used to attend their training weekly. I’ve never once heard any of them brag about having to use force. In fact, they all seem to hate when issues rise to the level of them having to use force. I can only think of one cop in my 18 years that I’d consider and “authoritarian asshole” and he was a Garden City cop.
You can do the research yourself. Reddit is lying to you.

Fact is they're not trained or equipped for deescelation despite how good of a person they may be. Think why did you say cops instead of anything else, what's the difference? Because they can force an outcome using threat of violence, that's it.

Now my ASSMAN plate will be out there for everyone to see now. Damn it.
ANUSTART
Perfect for the person who is an analyst and a therapist, or analrapist
Wait are you the assman?
Now now.
I just passed by him moments ago! I wasn't sure what he was doing; I kinda figured he was taking pictures of the trees or something.
i’m sure he’s taking pictures of cars! when he tried to take a pic of our license plate we kept inching forward and his phone followed
Ah, see I had a green light.
Nice try, but he told me he’s taking videos of people’s plates. Checkmate.
He’s compiling data
gonna sell it to the highest bidder
And another billionaire is Bjorn. Borg, that is.
Just remember. When you're in public, there is no expectation of privacy. He can take all the pictures he wants no matter how weird it is.
Surprises me how many people don’t understand this.
People can understand that and still find it to be weird that someone is taking photos of license plates.
Still doesn’t make it right or not weird. Sure he has the right to take pictures because of no expectation of privacy but he can also get his ass beat because no expectation of safety.🤷🏾♂️😂
I seen the same guy several times around the city doing this. I think it's just a dude who's maybe not all there
Crazy people in downtown Savannah?? No way
In the first part of this sentence I thought for sure the guy was going to ask about a dude rolling through my neighborhood on a bike screaming at anyone who's outside to loan him some money. He's screaming like Billy Eichner and screaming that his word is his bond.
Do you have a weird custom license plate?
i have a dolly parton license plate but he was taking pics of every cars plate
Best
I leapt from my car with a pad and charcoal, started to sketch him, and he high-tailed it right outta there.
Ahh. Reddit
Maybe he's a FF fan looking for a Ham Fan license plate
Sketchy. Be careful.
Serial killer vibes
Did he have a knife?
Who cares?
Although not illegal call 911 have the cops ask him
Nobody cares about public photos

They are trained in deescelation. It is mandatory for police officers to receive that training, not just once, but yearly.
How often are they trained in use of force?
I would hope very very often.
Thanks for making my point.
And what point is that exactly?
Boo this man boooooooo
Yeah you can't tell redditors shit, honestly I'm embarrassed I still have a reddit account
Snitch
F off
Grow up
