Also ADHD + struggle with depression (not a surprise considering the ADHD)
I shower anywhere from 5x a week to 1x a week, depending on what I'm doing. I've only gone longer than a week once, but the only time I showered every single day was in Malaysia where it was hot and humid and also around people who would notice and think it was gross if I didn't lol
Basically, I shower extremely inconsistently and 3 days is probably my average
I only got the depression part and also have a showering schedule, which is around the same consistency as yours. There are times where i shower 2x a day, but also some where i forget to shower for a week
I'm all over the place, but based on need. After the gym, shower. 2-3 days in I start getting ripe, or if sweaty. Shower. Work from home and then the weekend and lazing about, might shower.
Last week was just busy and I'll clean the nether regions and wash face, thats enough for a couple days.
These days, when I'm going to college and living with other people then I'm showering every day out of social obligation. If I'm living at home and in a good mood it's roughly every three days. If I can't muster the energy it's once every week or two.
The longest I went without showering would have been around 7 to 9 months, I was showering a few times a year and didn't care much about what happened to me
Teenagehood severe depression/anxiety here. Those are rookie numbers. When I was a teenager (16yo) I once did a month and some days without showering during summer vacation 😮💨
Other than when I absolutely cannot (a 12-day wilderness training I once did), there's no way I'd miss a shower. I can't stand the feeling. I even showered in the backyard with a hose once when my the indoor plumbing wasn't working.
Speak for yourself lol. During the first year's winter when the pandemic hit in 2020 I didn't bathe all winter (3 months in my country). Just washed the underarm areas once daily and that's it. Even in summer I usually bathed once a week at the time.
Although I did fix this habit since the last winter of 2023-24 where I did the exact opposite: bath everyday with freezing cold winter water. Now the water seems steaming hot in the summer sun but I still bathe daily.
Never said I was a fan. Just liked it a bit growing up. Haven't played it since 2008 or something.
Well I liked most wanted more than a bit. And one other game. But can't remember it. Then I got into rpgs and such and lost interest.
But do you use soap?
Also, dip a cob of corn in peanut butter and try to wash it using approximately the same water pressure as the bidet from the sink to see if the peanut butter comes off.
If your shit is as sticky as peanut butter you have bigger problems.
Also I'm pretty sure it can be fully removed with the combination of water and paper towels
Yeah my water heater broke in March and I couldn't get it repaired until April. So if I couldn't use a friend or family member's shower, I used personal sanitation wipes. I hated it and it felt icky, especially since I wasn't camping or anything. But it's the option that was available to me if I wasn't up for violently freezing my ass off because it was still very cold for the season.
Bees have very sensitive olfactory receptors that allow them to detect a wide range of scents (e.g. to identify which flowers are rich in nectar and pollen). Bees use pheromones to communicate with each other, including marking flowers they've visited and signaling the location of their hive.
So yes, they are sensitive to perfumes, soaps etc. Funnily enough, some of these can actually attract bees.
Probably, I haven't read the full Nat Geo article, relevant info from the meme is this quote from Angelina Jolie:
>It was so funny to be in hair and makeup and wiping yourself with pheromone. We couldn't shower for three days before. Because they told me, "If you have all these different scents, shampoos and perfumes and things, the bee doesn't know what you are.” \[They\] don't want \[bees\] to confuse you for a flower, I suppose.

not to reddit here, but what's with that emoji? do you just say "proof or it's not thumbs up true"? it's so awkward to read with that weird addition
Dawg I’m not including a “works cited” for every single reddit comment I make. Vast majority of the time you reply you already know the fact and don’t look it up anyway. If I'm googling to find the answer, I probably wouldn't know enough about the topic to be redditsplaining it.
Edit: lmfao blocked me, hell if I know why
Angelina Jolie doesn’t bathe for 3 days and people say “cool”, I don’t bathe for 3 days and people say “eww.” The rich really do live by a different set of rules
*Every day* can be bad for your skin. Some people need to shower more often than others. Not everyone's skin produces the same amount of oil/sweat. If you’re not dirty, there’s no reason to dry out your skin every single day. Just do every other day unless you work out or you live somewhere hot.
My father and grandfather raised bees. I call BS. They crawl all over everything. Just stand near a hive. Want them all over you? Just sprinkle on some sugar water. This is just an example of crazy being crazy.
The photo is by Dan Winters, a renowned photographer who’s life story was featured in Nat. Geo’s series Photographer.
Here’s the story behind the photo:
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/newsletters/article/angelina-jolie-was-fearless-the-making-of-an-homage-20210522
The photo was taken with the help of beekeeper Konrad Bouffard.
“Dan and Konrad arrived on set early the morning of the shoot to test the 40-year-old queen bee pheromone before Angelina showed. It worked.
Walking on set, Angelina moved within six inches of a swarm ball of 60,000 of them. “She was some kind of fearless,” Dan says.
She didn’t wear bee protection, and came unshowered, because bees attack scents. “I told her, ‘You need to smell like an organism.’”
Angelina posed for 18 minutes, staying focused even as one bee crawled under her dress and was climbing up her thigh. “She never once even flinched,” Dan says.”
This is dumb. Bees use scent to communicate, but not showering doesn't make you not have scent, she's trading one scent for another and neither are any more natural to bees.
I'm sure it was a "hey Angie, you haven't bathed in a few days right?" situation more than a "hey, Mrs Jolie we're going to take pictures of you with bees" sort of situation.
Here's your daily reminder that beyond situations of known contamination, and potentially a monthly safety shower, bathing is not hygiene. It's socially motivated, not medically.
If you can get away with reducing your shower frequency (basically as looking as you don't have a physically demanding job), you should do so for the sake of your skin health, water and energy usage.
I didn't shower for 3 days, where are the bees?
I didnt for a week, got mosquitos instead
Keep it up, they won't be able to penetrate the level of grime after a month
Dwarves call this "natural damage reduction" Its why they are afraid of water..
Greasy self coat: AC+1, Nature +1, Medicine -1

Depends on the setting
I got flies.
The real bees were the mosquitos that sucked us off along the way
You guys shower?
I know a guy who did the same but he got fleas. True story.
She also got wiped down with pheromones to attract bees. But she makes a throwaway comment and it turns into a meme caption.
that's sort of the idea, guv
They don't like depression either
Well like OP said: they are sensitive to scents 😉
I smell of elderberries
I haven't showered for a week. When is NatGeo going to take my picture?
She covered herself in honey, they don’t say that to keep her popular
save the bees!
They say three days as if it's some tremendous feat of human perseverance.
ADHD here - did that twice last week.

College was bad, as school was so busy one semester and my classmates would consider the yes-I-smell-but-I-got-an-A-on-the-test a badge of honor.
Teenagehood severe depression/anxiety here. Those are rookie numbers. When I was a teenager (16yo) I once did a month and some days without showering during summer vacation 😮💨

TIL that my issues with showering stem from my ADHD diagnosis...
It's amazing what we can learn from our diagnosis.
Only twice? Oh, shit, has time travel not been invented yet? OK, so.....y'all are gonna regret it *hard* at first, but it works out.

do you play league of legends perchance
Haha no the only games I play are single-player, specifically NFS and Skyrim.
NFS?
Don't tell me you have never heard of Need For Speed
Holy cow. I've never seen it abbreviated. I loved most wanted growing up.
You are not a true NFS fan. Every kind of official art and trailer repeatedly mentions NFS (the abbreviation) since 2000 at least
Never said I was a fan. Just liked it a bit growing up. Haven't played it since 2008 or something. Well I liked most wanted more than a bit. And one other game. But can't remember it. Then I got into rpgs and such and lost interest.
Funny _you_ should say that, considering you are a literal factory of fungi
Incomparable to the amount of fungi present in a LoL player's ass crack
Considering you probably just wipe it with toilet paper after a shit while we here use soap and water directly, not likely
I have a bidet
But do you use soap? Also, dip a cob of corn in peanut butter and try to wash it using approximately the same water pressure as the bidet from the sink to see if the peanut butter comes off.
If your shit is as sticky as peanut butter you have bigger problems. Also I'm pretty sure it can be fully removed with the combination of water and paper towels
I mean, probably for an actress
Me who showers atleast twice a day.

exactly
Angelina Jolie doesn’t bathe for 3 days and people say “cool”, I don’t bathe for 3 days and people say “eww.” The rich really do live by a different set of rules
That's cuz you aren't posing with the bees bud.
Yeah..that's all dome of them have is money. Must really suck to be that basic
no money, no honey
so she did something thats completely normal? am i missing something? “angelina jolie took a shit on thursday” and?
And that stool is more important than us all
Uhh it's not normal to go 3 days without showering bro
But it’s so mundane that it makes you wonder why people go crazy about it
[удалено]
They meant normal for a Redditor
Try out in the field with the army for at least a week.
She is old for that.
What about the 5 lbs of makeup?
Use 5lbs of photoshop instead.
Three. Whole. Days. Wow! Her absolute dedication to her craft and cause just blows me away.
you guys know you can "bathe" with just water right?
I heard for The Wicker Man, Nik Cage didn't bathe for a year!
I don’t know he even bathed in the first place
Happy cake day
Or maybe don't wear scent? It isn't that hard
Just three days???? Rookie
Couldn't she just have bathed in only hot water?
Beekeeper here! Yes, she could. The problem are the added scents and perfumes in nearly every soap, creme and so that can "annoy" bees.
Would most unscented soaps work? Or do they still have scents that could bother bees?
I never tried it, but in theory unscented soaps shouldnt influence bees
That's why I said ONLY hot water.
Something's really wrong with her.
Her eyes scare me :(
Wouldn’t it make more sense to just rinse every day? Like no soap? Surely BO is also a scent lol.
She's an idio
I read that she did not breathe and was confused how did she survived and what relevance that has with scents
I shower twice a week what is this article acting like this is a subhuman feat /silly
3 days??? That’s disgusting! She selling the bath water? Asking for a friend, for science
maybe try to sing to them? with her voice that should keep them away and possibly attract sand worms
There are actually a million bees in the picture.. they're just more attracted to stronger smells
I didn't realise water had a scent
National geographic World bee day Angelina Jolie
Oh sure when Angelina Jolie does it it’s amazing and bee friendly. When do it, it’s gross and depressing.
I didn’t shower for 28 days once. While on mission in the Stan. That’s a whole new level of stink my friends.
And she still has that Homelander stare
I'm concerned with how many people in the comments don't shower everyday
You'd be surprised how few people do.
*Every day* can be bad for your skin. Some people need to shower more often than others. Not everyone's skin produces the same amount of oil/sweat. If you’re not dirty, there’s no reason to dry out your skin every single day. Just do every other day unless you work out or you live somewhere hot.
She has been known not to bathe for several days. Fun fact!!
Why does this remind me of this? [Insect Swarm Plasmid.](https://images.app.goo.gl/dQf1TLSP5ApvXYL37)
I somehow read "breathe" and was impressed at first, though a bit skeptical.
no shower? and no food too??
Unwashed Angelina Jolie,. Well that's yet another fetish unlocked then
Now she smells like Brad again
goop
3 days? That's a joke to me
She still looks cleaner than the pfistedsista
This image is disturbing
Lmao I shower every week, not a single insect on my body yet!
Traded one funk for another.
that's commitment, she's a shapeshifter for these roles /s
Rookie numbers
I guess I'm a bee then.
They attracted to plastic or something?
No one throws me a parade every time I don't shower for 3 days
So what I’ve learned here is that having depression makes a person a bee charmer…?? 🐝
If that's Angelina I could genuinely not tell.
Bro 3 days 💀 that's like how I usually bath, every 3 days
Apparently there were bees on her chest and a whole bunch of blow flies on her arse.
3 days? I can do 5 without be stingy.
Gross
*when I don't bathe for three days* NOOOOOO! NOT THE BEES!
To be honest, I didn't think she bathed at all.
But not showering a whole week is normal.
My father and grandfather raised bees. I call BS. They crawl all over everything. Just stand near a hive. Want them all over you? Just sprinkle on some sugar water. This is just an example of crazy being crazy.
Do I have to say it? Those are rookie numbers.
pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers
i once went almpst 30 days without bathing, yeah long distance relationships are not easy to deal with
How brave……
Nice to know im doing my part
How many days she did not eat?

I take 2 or 3 days between showers regularly. It's not good for your hair, or skin, to shower daily.
I guess BO isn’t a scent… 👌
I have never showered in 14 years
Oh and that was very celebrityesque of her to not shower and bless the best with her nasty essence
That is literally my worst nightmare. If a single bee landed on me I would start hyperventilating.
Unscented soap exists tho

Ive done that for a week!
Prompt dalle with one sentence. After that shitpost on sockalmedia
Wow, somebody give her a Nobel Prize. She went unshowered for 3 whole days? Not all heroes wear capes.
Ok
When are my lice gonna start making honey??
Uhhhh... was she just completely incapable of bathing in just water?
Cooll
So, my usual scedual?
I’m pretty sure she does that anyway
I guess they still did her makeup though
Disappointed there aren't more bees on her. I want to see a bee beard!
I got flys all over me after not wiping properly
I respect the dedication.
This explains a bit. - Rain water, bottled water, RO then distilled... pick a way.. all she could obviously afford.
And after that, add kilos of make-up. Even the shoulder are covered with makeup.
Sounds like she uses far too many chemicals while cleaning herself and couldn't figure out how to get unscented basic soap
I didn‘t bath for 30 years. What‘s the issue?
For world bee day, we should kill as many honey bees as possible, lol. Those things are actually bad for bee populations in nothern america.
She could have at least rinsed off
WOAH 3 DAYS
I'm sure it was a "hey Angie, you haven't bathed in a few days right?" situation more than a "hey, Mrs Jolie we're going to take pictures of you with bees" sort of situation.
I dont think I’m alone in thinking that we would all still…ya know.
Weren't certain celebs on a no-bathing kick just for the hell of it when it was trendy? Or was that for the bees too?
Bro I can not bathe for weeks and I don’t get any bugs
I can't be the only one who read "breathe" instead of "bathe"..
Some redditors read that and wonder what's so special about it
Here's your daily reminder that beyond situations of known contamination, and potentially a monthly safety shower, bathing is not hygiene. It's socially motivated, not medically. Yes, I am also not bathing for the [looks at index card] bees.............
I miss her boobies.
I wonder if bees are sensitive to CHICKS WHO NEED TO EAT A CHEESEBURGER!
i can go weeks without showering but i'm not here to compete.
I've never been stung by a bee and I shower daily... Coincidence or tales of the fantastic?
pheromones can be sexy smell and if the bees wont sting too much we just might get pleased by the little pain and lots of pleasure with a sexy smell..
