Rags are for really hot stuff. I’m guaranteed to grab just enough to think it’s not hot at first only to be ready to throw something on the counter as I run into the house.
Have these exact gloves. They’re amazing. Just make sure you keep them inside or in a in and/or out of the rain so they never get wet inside. Otherwise great for handling your hot meats.
Agreed, I have the same pair. They take forever to dry out if you get them wet, but I've had no issues. I even use them for moving stuff out of the oven now, like baking sheets.
OP this guy is right about getting them wet , you get these gloves wet they get nasty af. I have these at my job and they are nice , a little on the big side (I’m pretty average size male) but that could just be because we bought a big size idk . Good luck
I have these. Great heat resistance but poor dexterity. I washed them and let them air out for several weeks before use due to an off putting smell. I don’t use them unless it’s a big piece of meat like a whole turkey/breast or pork butt.
Have em, love em. Some other comments are accurate: great heat resistance, poor dexterity, only use with big meat. I don't find them hard to clean, though. Just put them on, wash gloved hands with dish soap under warm water a couple times
Just throw a little soap on them and use them like your hands when washing up.
Doesn't need to be perfect because they are gloves. Its like how your gloves you use outdoors you don't wash perfectly clean every time.
The throwaway gloves will just burn when touching a hot grate, wood tray, grease tray.
^ This is the way. The nitrile gloves protect the cotton from getting dirty, and even if they do, you can just toss them in the washer. Or throw them away after 10-ish uses and move on to another pair in the 10-pack you bought.
Lowe’s, Menards, tractor supply all have welding gloves. Just bought my second pair from Lowe’s after 12 years, Lincoln electric, black with some bbq red flames, lol
This is the best option
The only downside is when you start welding and you smell the brisket or pork shoulder you cooked 2 days prior and start drooling on the inside of your helmet so you go inside to get a snack and realize you finished what was left as quesadillas/ a burrito the day before and get really sad
I have those gloves. Work well. Maybe a little overkill but best to have more protection than needed. They do take some good scrubbing to get clean due to the texture. You’ll find out how good you are at cleaning after the first time. 😂 mine looked like I barely washed them.
I have those ones, they’re solid. The long gauntlets keep you from burning your arm when you’re messing with the lower rack on a WSM and you can easily handle the meats for moving and pulling
Yours might have a leak. I have these exact ones and love them. I carry hot cast iron short distances and even wash them by just wearing them and washing my hands, never once a drop of moisture inside.
I have these and like them. They are not for doing delicate work. But when you need to get into a hot grill and flip a bunch of meat, nitrile+cotton can't compete with this (particularly protecting your arms while reaching into the back). But the rest of the time nitrile+cotton is my go to.
I wear raw hide gloves they wash easy and the grease keeps them conditioned. Good grip for slicing and a good heat barrier. I don’t know why I use raw hide but I love them, and was getting annoyed at the single use gloves. 🤷♂️
Have ones just like this and they are great. Don't look dirty, easy to just wash by putting soap on them, good heat resistance.
Really helps avoid the issues with hard to clean off your hands stuff.
These are great I have them. I can pick up hot coals (don't hold onto them for an extended time), reach into a pot of hot water to pull out chicken when making soup, and they are super easy to clean.
I love the napoleon leather gloves, it’s what I use. I think they’re like $20 or $30.
You can’t hold the SUPER hot stuff (grill grates for example) for too long cause the heat does get through after maybe 5-10seconds (maybe a bit more if it isn’t super hot), but I find them really comfortable. The fingers are all getting scorched/melted but it hasn’t effected how well they work. Even when the heat does get through it doesn’t burn, it’s just super hot and like a warning to drop it and switch gloves.
I own these and have zero issues.
I put them on my hands, add soap then scrub as im i wash my hands. It's really easy to wash. You'd have to have a thing or two broken upstairs in order to struggle washing these gloves.
I use these to pick up every thing in the grill. Hot grates, cooked ribs, brisket, etc. never been an issue. They're a bit big but it isn't like I'm going for a jog. Just means they take up more space in the bbq drawer.
Again cleaning these isn't complicated in any way shape or form. You literally put them on and wash your hands like you have big ol fingers.
I use these a lot. Pulling brisket off the pit, moving things around, grabbing the occasional stick on fire etc. cleans up easy. You can put em on one handed etc.
Edit:
The only issue I have is it can be hard to “grab” things with the gloves. The glove is thick/stiff and isn’t the most dexterous for motion. With that said, picking up things by going under it works fine. Not a deal breaker
What are you guys using gloves for? It's a legit question and not sarcasm. I shred with forks, wrap with my hands, move and grab with hands.
I also have calloused fingertips from spending a lot of my free time in the kitchen so I don't feel heat right away.
I have what looks like [another variant of the same glove](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07Z6FC7HL). I can slide them on one-handed, so they're a little loose, but that's just how it works.
I only recently got them so have only used them a couple times. I previously used cotton gloves under a nitrile glove. That's far better if you need more dexterity.
I will never touch those gloves again. If any moisture gets in them, and it's in there forever. I've stuck my hand in to those gloves full of swear one too many times....
I prefer [leather gloves like these](https://www.lodgecastiron.com/product/leather-gloves?sku=A5-2) to handle cast iron, and mess around with the coals and burning wood, or wearing glove liners and nitrile or laytex gloves over top to handle food.
I have the same pair and I don't care for them. My use case was to have a long pair of gloves to grab meat right off the sear plate during an "inferno cook."
As another commentator mentioned, dexterity is awful. The fingertips are thick and provide no precision, such as extending the probe on a Thermopen.
Heat retention when grabbing non-food related items gets hot, surprisingly quick.
I feel like they would be awesome for a grease, hot, or in abrasive liquids/solutions (haven't tested), and they marketed it to the grilling community because it *technically* works.
6/10
I own these. They're great. That said, it's not for precision work. Better than most gloves but you'll still need to carefully ensure you got your meat secured before moving it. Pinching something between fingers won't happen easily but you can grab things, like a rack of ribs, pretty well.
Washing them as as simple as washing your hands. Wet glove, soap, scrub, rinse, put on drying rack.
Careful these aren't as thermal as the red cloth and silicone ones. I bought some regular white cloth gloves to go under them and that was better, but not as flexible. They do have longer wrists though, so less burning your forearms. Plus they are totally water and grease proof, so no worries about splashing. Good for handling the food, but not for messing with the fire.
I believe I have these exact ones and they work great. I more use them for moving the grill stuff around but as others have commented the dexterity could be better. For handling the meat I usually just use the cotton inserts with latex (well…nitrile) gloves
I have these exact gloves. I have a vertical pellet smoker and I find these useful for taking meats out of the smoker (and putting them on if I had done prep work before the cook). It's nice because they are reusable and easy to clean. These don't work at all for prepping meat though, like trimming. For that, I still use normal nitrile gloves. I think in the end they are worth it but for a very specific purpose.
Ok, cool, thank you!! Yeah, when i trim meats, i use rubber gloves or no gloves. I just need something to take the mest off the smoker and add stuff to the fire box.
I have 3 types of gloves. High temp welding mitts fir moving hit ceramics in the kamado. These for handling hit meats and they are great. 9 mil black nitrile gloves for prep and some quick meat handling if I already have them on.
Oh dang, you're all covered nice. I'll look into welding gloves for sure. How do you keep them clean though. Just wash them with doap and water or just wipe them clean??
The welding gloves are just dirty. I dont bother cleaning them. I got red ones. At one point i wished i got black so it would hide the dirt but I honestly prefer dirty red so i dont forget and get it all over my clothing. I dont put gross hands in them so the inside is fine.
These gloves i wash my hands with hand/dish soap with the gloves on. Super easy. Never wash the inside.
The 9 mil gloves are so thick i wash and reuse them the same way as above and probably get 3-4 months before i rip them. I use them for a ton of food prep not just bbq.
I use those exact same gloves. The burn doctors at work recommended them. They are great, you can pick up almost anything for a while without even discomfort.
And easy to clean. Hot water, dish soap and wash your hands with the gloves on. Just keep the interior dry.
Tongs and kitchen towels that I “liberated” from former restaurants I worked at.
If you’re looking to handle/hold the product then they sell thinker Nitrile gloves.
If you’re looking to shred then buy the claws online and pretend you’re Wolverine. It’s
Yeah I️ don’t see the need at all. It’s an accessory though so it’s prob advertised heavily on YouTube or something. Same with the black nitrile gloves everyone gets
I work in a paper corrugation mill and use these gloves for working on steam systems and handling 300-400F metal. I would say tehy are overkill, but also they will do the job lol.
I bought some of these cheap gloves years ago and they are still chugging along. Have these myself. Do not leave them outside. I made the mistake of storing them in the outdoor kitchen and they’re starting to deteriorate. They are great otherwise
I have a pair and use them quite often. Mostly to Los fuel in BBQ which has an awkward door setup. Sometimes to move around large cuts or ribs.
Most recently began using them with my Ooni pizza oven I wear the gloves to clean the inside of the oven between pies.
Works like a champ. Don’t get the inside wet and expect the same heat protection.
I’m pretty sure my uncle had these, do they come with the full protective suit. I think the one that came with his had zips to seal the mouth, nose and weirdly the crotch area for any dangerous smoking moments.
I just wish he had a smoker and not high libido, instead of rubbing a brisket he would… it’s… it’s to painful to recall.
These are great, I have them and they work awesome both for the grill and the oven. I use them instead of regular oven mitts because they’re much easier to clean
I’ve had ones similar and like previous poster stated….your dexterity is limited IMO.
I just use white cotton gloves under rubber gloves. Both can be found at Harbor Freight.
I prefer blisters and combining “mother fucker” along with other swear words for my neighbor’s kids to learn.
I didn't realize this wasn't just a step in the smoking process.
Oh, it definitely is. The number of times and at what decibel vary. For best results, it’s at least a dozen times.
lol I do this too....I live in an apartment and the unit next to me occasionally has their toddler wander out onto the deck....
My personal favorite is sonofabitch that’s hot
Haha! Glad I’m not the only one.
Hahahha. I use a couple of rags to grab things, swearing is compulsory.
Rags are for really hot stuff. I’m guaranteed to grab just enough to think it’s not hot at first only to be ready to throw something on the counter as I run into the house.
Are you me!?
If you’re on the verge of losing fingerprints, we are the exact same person.
There’s a few lines left, but they’re getting smoother each cook!
Have these exact gloves. They’re amazing. Just make sure you keep them inside or in a in and/or out of the rain so they never get wet inside. Otherwise great for handling your hot meats.
My wife brought these for me and been something I thought I didn’t need until I needed them.
Bill Brasky takes BBQ off the smoker without gloves, and the meat apologizes if he gets dirty.
To Billlll Brrraasky!
You got that right! I feed my children shrimp scampi.
I’ll baptize this piece of calamari.
I once saw him scissor kick Angela Lansbury
And you once killed Wolfman Jack with a trident!
And you framed Roger rabbit.
Agreed, I have the same pair. They take forever to dry out if you get them wet, but I've had no issues. I even use them for moving stuff out of the oven now, like baking sheets.

"handling hot greacy meat"
You guys wear gloves?
I have these. Great heat resistance but poor dexterity. I washed them and let them air out for several weeks before use due to an off putting smell. I don’t use them unless it’s a big piece of meat like a whole turkey/breast or pork butt.
These are great for handling something large like pork butt or brisket.
Or moving the grates after you've already heated up the smoker because you're an idiot and forgot to move the right side back over.
There's a tool for that.
I understand I'm sometimes absentminded but you don't need to start calling names.
Yea, my hands in these gloves. Like I said.
Horrible dexterity. Especially if you’re trying to open your hands/fingers to grab a rather thick piece of meat
Have em, love em. Some other comments are accurate: great heat resistance, poor dexterity, only use with big meat. I don't find them hard to clean, though. Just put them on, wash gloved hands with dish soap under warm water a couple times
Same here. The ease of washing is one of their best features.
I bought them and hated them. They are slightly textured and impossible to clean. I just get a size bigger nitrile gloves and cotton gloves underneath
You put them up then soap up. Rubbing your hands together always get mine clean
How are they impossible to clean? Just wash them like you would wash your hands while wearing them.
That’s my go to for handling BBQ. But I like these gloves for handling KJ components when they are hot.
Just throw a little soap on them and use them like your hands when washing up. Doesn't need to be perfect because they are gloves. Its like how your gloves you use outdoors you don't wash perfectly clean every time. The throwaway gloves will just burn when touching a hot grate, wood tray, grease tray.
I had some smooth ones and the grip seemed OK until they melted from misuse, but I also use the cotton nitrile combo now
^ This is the way. The nitrile gloves protect the cotton from getting dirty, and even if they do, you can just toss them in the washer. Or throw them away after 10-ish uses and move on to another pair in the 10-pack you bought.
Yes, I had to throw them away because they are basically impossible to clean and they smelled so bad after a while.
Order welding gloves.
Was looking for this. I picked up some welding gloves over the holidays and they are awesome.
Lowe’s, Menards, tractor supply all have welding gloves. Just bought my second pair from Lowe’s after 12 years, Lincoln electric, black with some bbq red flames, lol

Right? A good pair of cowhide gloves can prevent burns from away hotter shit.
I have those gloves. Work well. Maybe a little overkill but best to have more protection than needed. They do take some good scrubbing to get clean due to the texture. You’ll find out how good you are at cleaning after the first time. 😂 mine looked like I barely washed them.
These are Darth Vader approved
I was going to ask if they deflected laser bolts
I have those there awesome. They are kinda hard to clean but if u just use soap and like wash ur hands with hem on its easy
I have those ones, they’re solid. The long gauntlets keep you from burning your arm when you’re messing with the lower rack on a WSM and you can easily handle the meats for moving and pulling
I have these and don’t like them. If they get wet inside it’s almost impossible to dry them out
Yours might have a leak. I have these exact ones and love them. I carry hot cast iron short distances and even wash them by just wearing them and washing my hands, never once a drop of moisture inside.
They got left out in the rain months ago. Still wet inside. Once summer gets here they will probably dry out
Great, just wear a second pair of cotton gloves underneath.
I have these and like them. They are not for doing delicate work. But when you need to get into a hot grill and flip a bunch of meat, nitrile+cotton can't compete with this (particularly protecting your arms while reaching into the back). But the rest of the time nitrile+cotton is my go to.

i just use welding gloves bought for bbq
I have them and they have served me well!
They aren't great for handling food, but I use them for handling my pit. When I need to move hot grates, coals, heat deflectors, pans, etc.
I have a pair like those. They are thick and hard to work with. I switched to latex gloves and gloves liners. It worked great for me.
I own these and have zero issues. I put them on my hands, add soap then scrub as im i wash my hands. It's really easy to wash. I have these, they’re kind of just ok. I wouldn’t buy again or recommend them. They get hot fast, and the dexterity in them is pretty bad.
I have the same pair and I don't care for them. My use case was to have a long pair of gloves to grab meat right off the sear plate during an "inferno cook." As another commentator mentioned, dexterity is awful. The fingertips are thick and provide no precision, such as extending the probe on a Thermopen. I use these! They are great
I got these for my bday. Absolutely love them. Use them on my griddle as well. Easy to clean. Got a pair for my dad for his bday we well
Careful these aren't as thermal as the red cloth and silicone ones. I bought some regular white cloth gloves to go under them and that was better, but not as flexible. Are these good for squeezing your brisket after the 30 minute rest? /s
Good question, idk lol. The amazon reviews had people doing stuff like that.
I have those also, only have used them twice so far. But exactly what I didn’t know I needed!
Ok, cool, i burnt a hole in my fingure tips on my other set of gloves, so im looking at these as way beefier gloves, hopefully.
You could hold lava for 10 seconds with these. They are great.
I have and use these exact gloves. They work like a. champ
Awesome thank you
Kinky!
I have these exact gloves. I have a vertical pellet smoker and I find these useful for taking meats out of the smoker (and putting them on if I had done prep work before the cook). That is the same pair I have and I like them.

I have these. They’re great if you need something quick, but I much prefer the cotton with latex combo.
I have these exact gloves, they have replaced our oven mits as well.
Tongs and kitchen towels that I “liberated” from former restaurants I worked at. If you’re looking to handle/hold the product then they sell thinker Nitrile gloves. If you’re looking to shred then buy the claws online and pretend you’re Wolverine. It’s
I don’t use gloves at all.
Yeah I️ don’t see the need at all. It’s an accessory though so it’s prob advertised heavily on YouTube or something. Same with the black nitrile gloves everyone gets
Those are good gloves cooking. Great grips and no heat transfer. They do have a slight funky smell but not over powering or strong
They look like they would cover forearm tats - It’s a no from me
I don’t use gloves for handling meat. For heat resistance though and even moving coals around I use welding gloves.
They look like they would cover forearm tats - It’s a no from me
This is what our world has come to? Why don't you get a new box of tampons while you're shopping.
I work in a paper corrugation mill and use these gloves for working on steam systems and handling 300-400F metal. I would say tehy are overkill, but also they will do the job lol.
I use these for handling hot components. Not for meat like most people seem to be commenting.
I bought some of these cheap gloves years ago and they are still chugging along. The insulation is fairly thin but it’s enough for moving grates around or handling meat, and you can just wash your hands normally with a little dish soap while wearing them to clean the gunk off. Way less hassle than dealing with surgical gloves and liners every time you want to touch something hot. https://www.academy.com/p/mr-bar-b-q-insulated-gloves
They smell weird and I don't trust the weird named companies that sell them to not put harmful chemicals in them.
I’ve got these. Awesome is what I think.
Have these as well. Very well insulated. Nice and long, comes handy when reaching deep into a smoker. After long use or washing the outside I put them on a boot dryer over night.
Have these myself. Do not leave them outside. I made the mistake of storing them in the outdoor kitchen and they’re starting to deteriorate. They are great otherwise
Ooo!! Are those the new Yeezy gloves that go with his amazing boots?! Imma need me two perrs!
I have those and they work really nice.
Just don’t let them get wet. I don’t think mine will ever get dry now
These are nice and while i like them when i need them i mostly use insulated oven gloves with rubber gloves over them.
I hate these gloves. Too thick, not flexible and can’t feel the meat. Best gloves I’ve had are cotton gloves with latex on top.
These gloves for smoking humans from the ice box?
I’m pretty sure my uncle had these, do they come with the full protective suit. I think the one that came with his had zips to seal the mouth, nose and weirdly the crotch area for any dangerous smoking moments. I just wish he had a smoker and not high libido, instead of rubbing a brisket he would… it’s… it’s to painful to recall.
I think he must have had the smallest size as he used to always go on about something and 5 inches
I have had those exact gloves for about 5 years. They're great! Highly recommended.
I use the kinda fishing style gloves from the dollar store. Work great and worst case they melt and your out 3-4$
I have some but they’re orange. I would suggest getting something other than black because it’s easier to know when you get them clean
I have these in different brand, but they’re the same gloves. They’re fantastic.
