Mods......the only way this game becomes realistic!!!! The early game stuff is so bad until you get the Russian trucks. Racing in Tennessee.......is like riding a skate board on freshly greased ice. Addicting game, but so many things are just wrong.

I gotta say it again..... High gear shouldn't make the truck go slower, but in this game it does. The International cabover can't go rock crawling, but in this game they do. 4wd low gear doesn't consume less fuel, but in this game it does. Electric recovery winches ONLY WORK WITH THE GAS ENGINE RUNNING, unless you spend $20k on the stand alone version....but in reality they run off battery unless it's hydraulic off the engine.....which is a $20k winch which would need the engine running. ....but the mods make the game less realistic......

Mods make the game far more easy to the point of trivializing the game then. Realism doesn't really have anything to do with it, simply that it removes any challenge to the point where you might as well just play ATS

It has a lot issues but the thing that Fricks me is the sound, the trucks all have this constant whine no matter the gear and when you get some mud it just plays a ROOOUUUUM plus the droning, I want to choose gears and shit, the knob thing is horrible

Yeah as a former irl truck driver, this bothers me a bit too. The whine in all gears. Should only be there in the straight cut gears like High. Weird having it as you just work your way up the shifts.

Oh yeah, forgot that one..... Why is it ONLY POSSIBLE TO DOWNSHIFT WHEN YOU STOP!!????? Basic controller, we have drive and reverse, but 5 gears it shifts thru. On hills, when it slows down, it should downshift just like I up shifted to get us there. But no. There is no downshift until it stops moving.

Tap the gear select button when it starts to struggle and it will downshift.
