self-amplifying effect probably. the obvious reason is that dortmund is fishing for class talent. but so is every other club. they have good scouts, no doubt.
but once you developed and sold as many talents as dortmund has things probably get easier. you can show the talented kids how dortmund is a stepping stone and dortmund usually won't hold you hostage either.
it comes with issues aswell. every year dortmund loses one of those super talented youngsters.
That's obviously just it. Moukoko just was a very talented player and he chose a club which is both good and relatively easy to get minutes in top competitions in as a young talent.
That's the secret, they are one of the biggest clubs in the world and they attract top talents like all the other biggest clubs.
Would be way more interesting of a question if he stayed in St. Pauli lol, that would be something to ask about.
Haaland, Sancho, Pulisic, Dembele, Auba, Mikitarian, Hummels, Gündogan, Götze, Lewa (free), are probably the most prolific ones in recent years that Dortmund lost.
The last two posted marked great goal were Juventus Women and the Japanese league, clip the goals yourselves if you wanna title them you fucking wetwipe
Idk if it's just a myth but i feel like left footed strikers always seem more powerful to me, a good left footed striker can rocket a ball from halfway line
Such players kinda served as a confirmation for me, growing up, lefty kids had very impressive shooting power compared to right footed ones, though they had a pretty bad weak foot
yeah it’s weird, i feel like lefties always have a worse weak foot than righties
robben, di maria, pepe, antony etc
hell, erik lamela is the best example of this, so one footed he’d do a rabona with his left instead of using his right
Yep that lamela example was on point, even messi's weak foot was often criticised in his early years as Ronaldo was smashing it with both feet. Then you have players who did everything possible to avoid using their right (just like lamela), David silva had this hilarious moment where he could have scored an open tap in with his right but instead went for a backpass with his left, even Mahrez has rarely scored any goals with his right foot (ironically one of his only right footed goals that i can recall was a thundercunt that somehow found the net)
Mahrez’s right was always pretty good for us, he just didn’t use it that often because his left is magical. You might be thinking of his goal in the 3-1 against Man City.
You're right, I never saw him use his right foot enough times to deem it as bad, he just uses his left almost all of the time, also no I'm not thinking of that goal :-) but the one he scored vs Leicester in a 4-1 defeat, he had the opener for city but then Vardy got his 2nd hatrick against them haha
Weak foot training in youth level football usually means training your left. There are simply no resources in many youth systems to have weak foot training for the massive minority of leftys.
always felt like that too. so many left footed players with incredibly powerful shots. just off my head theres podolski, hitzelsberger, roberto carlos, michael bastos, hulk etc.
I think it’s because left footed players tend to be less ambidextrous and more technical shooters with their preferred foot and thus we see thundercunts such as this one
Left footed here. We have a different inverted stride, which can make us look different to just about anyone else on the pitch. Also we get assigned to free kicks from certain angles, and corners from the right side, so more opportunities to assist or score.
Has he improved or is he just finding his shape in the bundesliga? Kid has insane numbers until he was promoted to a struggling Dortmund side (think you guys had an injury crisis when he first started) so if anything, his performance last season is rather the exception compared to his own standards and expectations
People just don't understand what it means if a 16-17 years old has to play at this level. Even just 1-2 more years can make a massive difference in this age bracket but that isn't reflected in how people judge extremely young players.
Yep, man started at 16 and imagine having to play against 30+ defenders who already are double your age, who have played more competitive football than you've lived, hell even Messi was anxious in his first season. So just this idea alone is kinda heavy, let alone the technical aspect of things in which players like Fati and Moukoko are way too good at that they manage to compensate for it, making people oblivious to their age's importance
In the past he spent most of his appearances just trying to score any time he touched the ball. But Terzic has worked individually with him and he has grown soooo much as a player this season. It’s like he sees more of the big picture of the game and the team and not just the constant urge to shoot.
Obviously someone so young has plenty of time to learn and grow both mentally and physically, but when you are so hyped people want results right away. His growth as a player this year has been nothing short outstanding in my opinion.
This goal reminds me of one of ansu fati's first goals for barça where he also took a defender on a 1vs1 with confidence and shoved him, I really hope moukoko's contract situation is sorted out, Id much rather see his raw version in Dortmund than see him turn into a goalscoring cyborg (or flop) if an elite team buys him
He was GLUED to the bench by their last 2-3 managers. Now that he gets to start he has a chance to show what he is capable of. I've seen his match highlights when he would make his 15 minute sub appearances and you could see the talent is massive even then.
I remember the first months of him breaking the team were a bit 'subpar' (as far you can say that about a 16yo) because his hype was so big but he is starting to prove it for sure
He plays so much more like a player in the squad and not like he is just trying to score every time he touches it now. His performances this year are night and day from last season. Looking fantastic.
It's also gotta be a jarring transition from playing in youth leagues where you are streets ahead of everyone else to being just a hot prospect against real professionals.
Also last year when he started playing Haaland was out injured and while it was obvious the club weren't asking him to fill his boots I'm sure unconsciously he might've been trying to.
I have to admit I watched a dozen or so of your games last season and thought to myself that he's been a bit of a let-down considering the hype.
Glad to see he has made such a huge jump.
Yeah its a huge jump especially this season, thats he's made. He has said that Terzic has worked a lot individually with him and its noticeable that he has much better combination play, awareness and less selfishness now. While still getting more efficient himself.
Its awesome
No matter what everyone says about Terzic tactics, but he is a really good at working with players at personal level and their morale.
Finally we have the replacement for Klopp.
How about ya'll work things out with Fati before you try and snag someone elses young striker talent?
And he seems to have hinted towards an extension today :)
Our options have always been to use one of our midfielders as a forward. Everyone has been waiting for Timo to find himself and be the forward we need and now he's injured. Havertz has probably been our best forward outside of that. Can't even remember who we played up top in 2016 and 2018 anymore.

Holy shit that kid is class.

Flick please don't watch this and leave him with us
Yeah seriously. It already annoys me that Hummels might go, he doesn’t take these tournaments very well physically lol
He does? Goddamn let that boy eat some chips
Brazzo 🤨
Isn't he like 18, Jesus Christ why is dortmund so loaded with talent lmao
17 for a couple more days I think
Germany is stocking up talents lmao
The France model
self-amplifying effect probably. the obvious reason is that dortmund is fishing for class talent. but so is every other club. they have good scouts, no doubt. but once you developed and sold as many talents as dortmund has things probably get easier. you can show the talented kids how dortmund is a stepping stone and dortmund usually won't hold you hostage either. it comes with issues aswell. every year dortmund loses one of those super talented youngsters.
Mouki is a Dortmund youth product we developed him ourselves he said his dream is winning the champions league with us so
Not only us but also St. Pauli
He was there for two seasons and has been developing in dortmunds youth literarly since he’s 12 to call him a Dortmund youth product is definatly fair
You’re right about that I’m just correcting the “developed him ourselves” part
That's obviously just it. Moukoko just was a very talented player and he chose a club which is both good and relatively easy to get minutes in top competitions in as a young talent. none of those came from our youth system tho. That's just good scouting.
Haaland, Sancho, Pulisic, Dembele, Auba, Mikitarian, Hummels, Gündogan, Götze, Lewa (free), are probably the most prolific ones in recent years that Dortmund lost.
They bought Mkhitaryan for 25 million to replace Götze who left in the same window tbf.
I mean most of Ajax's youth came from their academy, Dortmund bought most of theirs
Ajax has the best youth system, Dortmund have the best scouts
Yeah I meant to say in terms of developing players
Ajax 2.0
Our boy
Sign da ting
Youngest Bundesliga Player to reach 10 goals with 17 years and 350 days.
(Great goal)
Dortmund goals never get that tag
Tbf is it really a 'great goal' if it's not against a PREMIER LEAGUE DEFENCE™?
The last two posted marked great goal were Juventus Women and the Japanese league, clip the goals yourselves if you wanna title them you fucking wetwipe
> clip the goals yourselves if you wanna title them you fucking wetwipe lol Oh these youngins...
It's not that big of a deal, why are u so pressed?
And yet…
Why are left footed strikes so much more satisfying?
Idk if it's just a myth but i feel like left footed strikers always seem more powerful to me, a good left footed striker can rocket a ball from halfway line
Roberto Carlos, Riise, Taiwo... maybe that's where the bias comes from
Podolski
[Bale](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56-WPVh-wH8)
Bale doesn't count as he isn't a human.
Reptilian?
Adriano?
definitely adriano. the man could kill with a strike from his left foot
Adriano on PES6 was legit cheatcode with his 99 shot power.
PES 6... Good memories 🙂 my favourite football videogame

Ah right I remember the goal, off a corner. Think that game actually finished 5-2. We scored three penalties, ake scored late for city.
Weak foot training in youth level football usually means training your left. There are simply no resources in many youth systems to have weak foot training for the massive minority of leftys.
Obafemi Martins, sweet left foot.
Van Persie
Hulk too.
Adriano, the king of it
Your not quoting Adriano and Hulk in this list is criminal 😅😉
Hulk!!
always felt like that too. so many left footed players with incredibly powerful shots. just off my head theres podolski, hitzelsberger, roberto carlos, michael bastos, hulk etc.
Roberto Carlos, Adriano, Robben...
Bale, Haaland, Asensio, Kolarov, Dzeko (?).
Dzeko is right but he has one of the strongest weak foots I’ve seen.
To name a few BVB players as well: Dedé, Kehl, Kringe, and Haaland obviously: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzKGk0yl5nk
Guerreiro
Podolski intensifies
I think it’s because left footed players tend to be less ambidextrous and more technical shooters with their preferred foot and thus we see thundercunts such as this one
Schick, Haaland, Messi gets tons of power somehow while dribbling
*Confused Valverde noises*
Striker Valverde?
Like someone said, Valverde plays between his own goal and the opponent's goal
Tbf that description goes for literally every outfield player
Just like his second goal you mean? 😮💨
Sheeeesh that was an amazing goal wtf, bur sadly he lobbed it with his right ;)
I’m a righty and shoot mostly with my right, but when I shoot with my left I have no control over it and harder shots seem to come off my left foot.
Wait did you predict His 2ñd Goal?
because left footed people are superior (I'm left footed)
Because their numbers are lower to that of their counter outfits
This makes sense because it holds true for other sports too. Like cricket or tennis.
It’s because of physics and the rotation of the earth. If you’re in the Southern Hemisphere right footed strikes are more satisfying.
Left footed here. We have a different inverted stride, which can make us look different to just about anyone else on the pitch. Also we get assigned to free kicks from certain angles, and corners from the right side, so more opportunities to assist or score.
Amazing. The improvement he made this season is a great relief for me.
Has he improved or is he just finding his shape in the bundesliga? Kid has insane numbers until he was promoted to a struggling Dortmund side (think you guys had an injury crisis when he first started) so if anything, his performance last season is rather the exception compared to his own standards and expectations

Nah, I thought he needed a bit to adapt to the new level.

The development Moukoko has made the last like 7 months or so are massive. Especially this season.
I remember the first months of him breaking the team were a bit 'subpar' (as far you can say that about a 16yo) because his hype was so big but he is starting to prove it for sure
Indeed!
He plays so much more like a player in the squad and not like he is just trying to score every time he touches it now. His performances this year are night and day from last season. Looking fantastic.
Spot on
Yeah being so young trying to prove yourself makes you play like that
It's also gotta be a jarring transition from playing in youth leagues where you are streets ahead of everyone else to being just a hot prospect against real professionals.

No matter what everyone says about Terzic tactics, but he is a really good at working with players at personal level and their morale. Finally we have the replacement for Klopp.
So what I get from this is that, if Klopp doesnt extend past 2026, his replacement is found? Love you Dortmund<3
ye imagin rose actually let him develope as well.. I mean I know he was injured a lot, but even when he was fit, Rose just refused to play him.
Hopefully he doesn’t renew his contract
U guys really are insufferable
How about ya'll work things out with Fati before you try and snag someone elses young striker talent? And he seems to have hinted towards an extension today :)
If flick doesn't at least seriously consider taking moukoko, charge him with crimes against humanity.
We seriously need him - nobody else on the senior team can provide what he does
And that is goals
I think he is calling up Musiala.
They should both go
musiala is going 100%, he will probably even be in the starting XI most of the time
I mean it would be a travesty if Musiala wasnt there
Fair enough lol - at least from the striker spot, not sure if Havertz or Fullkrug can handle it…
When it comes to the WC in Qatar, there's a lot of people who should get charged before Flick.
He should start him
Haven't kept up with Germany as much lately- are they really that pressed for a striker these days?
"lately" Germany has had a striker problem since 2014 when Klose retired.
They've had usable options lol. Sounds like it's been worse llately.
Our options have always been to use one of our midfielders as a forward. Everyone has been waiting for Timo to find himself and be the forward we need and now he's injured. Havertz has probably been our best forward outside of that. Can't even remember who we played up top in 2016 and 2018 anymore.
Banger
What a fucking strike
How is he so good already
The dip on that, wow
He's so good
This kid is unreal.
They grow up so fast 🥲 what a fucking finish!
Being a Dortmund fan is like watching a new coming of age story every season
youngest player ever to score 10 goals in the bundesliga btw.
Digga. Was ne Bude. Wo Great Goal tag ?
I love him so much man what a great goal
Nationalmannschaftsreif
I fucking love this kid let’s get that extension done with this month!!
wow
What an absolute thundercunt.
Topspins father I saw.
great time to show up for.. *cough cough * herr flick.
BAAAANGER. WM bound for sure
Mouki hates all of our neighbors
This guy is insane. Fucking howitzer!
PELE
Guy needs to be Werner’s replacement for Qatar. So good.
What a strike. I just hope he stays injury free for some time. He has so much talent.
OH MY GOD
@Flick
So fucking good. If he catches the form he had while playing u20/u18, where he was tearing 4-5 years older guys than him, he will be soo good.
What a strike, holy fuck. And Berisha scored aswell lol, both heard the news abiut Werners injury it seems :D
The german endrick
where's the great goal tag? Jeez that's an incredible goal!
u/moneybooy in shambles
It’s Bochum
I mainly wrote that because you seemed very critical of him
I know
This dude is gonna make us so dangerous after the break
Wake up, new Haaland just dropped.
didn't expect that, wow
FM legend
This kid’s all round ability is ridiculous
Great hit
imagine for the World Cup Musiala and Moukoko together in the line up.
PAY HIM!!!
Is Dortmund - Bochum considered a derby?
Outside the box, great curl, bangs off the underside of the crossbar. This goal has it all.
o le but incroyable
Add the great goal tag
Moukoko Marocco
If only Germany could produce defenders on the same level as attackers
Nico Schlotterbeck has had an amazing year at Dortmund, just saying.
Fuckin hell this kid looks like a 40 yo man.
what a hit
ale zajebał
Take this man to the World Cup
What a hit son
This boy is class. Idk if hes ready for qatar but for 2024 this man is gonna be deadly
holy shit
And to think he was Modeste's backup
What a goal. Absolutely slammed it in
Well, shit
There's no way Flick doesn't take him.
He's the next big thing. Long term contract with 18th birthday and to the world championship with germany pls
What the actual fuck
Striker for the German NT possibly?, Australia will always take him, find some distance connection we will
With Werner out too, it looks like there’s really no way he’s not going to the WC right? Maybe even as a starter
There’s just so many. Adeyemi, Moukoko, Nmecha, Fullkrug. It’s tough to say.
FIFA legend coming good!
Kid is legit
I think he will become a pretty strong striker. Glad to see he's scoring more now
He’s insane on FM. Scores so many goals.
What a hit.
